The ending choir is definitely the most powerful moment of this whole game. There's something so powerful about seeing every character you've met along your journey all singing in harmony. Even the characters who don't like to sing, like Francisco, or are terrible singers, like the mayor of Langtree. It doesn't matter who or where they are, they're all united in song. And seeing Miriam at the head of the choir, the character who used to snap at you for singing, is really the cherry on top.

What really cool is also how they made the song in the first place - the person in charge for the music asked on Twitter if any random people wanted so sing in a choir for the end song and 75 different people with varying qualities of voice and equipment came together!

I rarely feel that strongly for a character to be honest, but that little bard ? He's really something else. The little bard that fate wasn't expecting would even exist...

Yea!! The creator sent out a tweet asking if anyone wanted to sing for his game so he got a bunch of people with differing expierence and mic quality to help him out
you know, a lot of stories go for the "power of friendship and harmony" ending, but wandersong is one of the few i feel really *earns* it, you know? this ending is a perfect capper to the building theme throughout the entire game--this isn't some combat-focused RPG game where you beat all your enemies into submission before it suddenly pulls out the Power of Friendship to help you win the final boss. you've literally spent the entire game cultivating this power, making it something that can withstand the end of the universe--and that's sort of why it *works.* not just in-universe, but narratively, too.
Something that I find interesting is that the bad happens if the Bard doesn't actually manage to unite everyone. It's a thing where you DO have to earn it.
It worked because it wasn't just the Earthsong, it had more than it. It had the voices of everyone backing it. A song of a bard who wandered about, who somehow brought everyone together to sing in perfect harmony.

my absolute favorite moment from this game is when everyone is singing, together, the tune starting out small in the face of darkness, and as more voices are added to the melody, the song becomes louder, stronger, their hope becomes stronger. and soon, everyone is singing, inspired by all the singing they hear and continuing the cycle started by the bard. everyone is singing, loudly, proudly, and beautifully-

This Bard is REALLY something special.
The story revolves around him, so he IS the protagonist. He's not the archetypal protagonist of an adventure game but he is the protagonist nonetheless.

Throughout most of the game, Audrey is shown to be the typical “protagonist”, hell, you don’t even unlock any achievements as the bard, it’s only while playing as Audrey that you get them.
I feel the whole thing was a narrative on that sort of thing.

A little late to the party, but what an amazing game. I tear up every time I hear this song.

The fact that despite countless times of trying to gather the Earthsong it always failed, the bard still tries and only succeeds not because of gathering the song pieces but because of how he brought the world together. Who in the end join in for this song who the composer created an analog to by using literally hundreds of singing samples from fan submissions. Such a beautiful and amazing idea. Truly one of the greatest video game tracks I've ever heard.

The important bit is that this was NOT the Earthsong. Ayala is clear on that - what you sung was not the Earthsong.
It was a song that the Bard could only create because of who he was. The song of the guy who managed to wander across the entire world and unite it enough to sing one song, even if it was not THE song. And do so in enough unison to catch the ear of God herself, even if you did not actually do what anyone expected.
It was not the Earthsong. It was the Wandersong, by a wanderer. And that's important!

I just finished this game last night. I was honestly predicting that this was the route the game was going for, but when exactly what I thought was going to happen happened I *still* cried. This track still emotionally destroys me.
One obscure minor detail I actually really liked about this game was that the trophy/achievements always unlocked whenever The Hero did something, or when you come across their accomplishment. It literally drives home that you are not the Hero. Whenever she defeats the boss is when they unlock. Half of them are unlocked during the intermission chapter where you play as her, too, doing various combat related stuff. All of the descriptions are from the Hero's perspective, too. Even the last one, 'The End' Unlocks when she kills the final boss, completing "Her Quest" and there's nothing for actually finishing the game to the credits.
You truly are just a Bard, playing on the opposite side of The Hero.
Yeah, I haven't seen storytelling through meta elements done that good since fucking _DDLC._ It's utterly masterful.
I remember realizing their was dance button and just dancing everywhere. I love this game, it's likely the best game I've played in 2018 and so far 2019. Just...Wow.
I sang little tunes every chance I got...Miriam told me to shut up *MANY* times in the first half of the game.

Okay... Despite beating Wandersong, I still have it on my mind and therefore, I came to write a love letter for it.
2019 was a hard year for me. Someone I was really close to had passed away and I spent a lot of that year grieving her. Same for this year as well. In fact, I still grieve her. I also have a lot of fears revolving death as well. I fear the unknown aspects and I just want to be happy after dying (although I’m young now, I still fear it). I also fear dying in a painful way. ESPECIALLY the world ending all of a sudden. I know that I won’t be there to see the world end, but I’m still scared of it because so many people always assume it will and it makes me really scared. This month, I played Wandersong and it just helped me so much! I want to talk about my favorite characters first and my top three would include (no particular order):
Ash
Miriam
The Bard/Kiwi
First, I’ll talk about Miriam. I could connect with her because like myself, she’s very distant and anti-social. Behind her prickly and grumpy appearance, she’s quite different and just... lovable. Throughout the entire game I wanted to protect her and I remember being SO mad when Audrey shot her with lightning. Big wtf moment. My favorite scene with her was when Kiwi and her were at the crater dancing and having that conversation. I just felt connected to Miriam. But honestly, Miriam in the entirety of chapter 5 is amazing.
So next I want to talk about the Bard/Kiwi. They are probably one of my favorite fictional protagonists of all time. Yes, I went that far. They are just so hopeful and inspiring. Personally, if I can name a fictional character I wish I was more like, it’s Kiwi. I’m very pessimistic about life just because of things I went through when I was younger. Kiwi is optimistic and hopeful and never gives up on their goal to save the universe and I just love that. Let me also point out another thing. So with my fear of the world ending on me, I felt like I was the bard confronting my own fear. When I beat the game, it felt like a true accomplishment and I was really inspired by Kiwi. What’s more is that Kiwi saved the world without killing anyone or anything. That’s proof that you don’t have to fight monsters to save the day. Kiwi tried to be on good terms with everyone they met. They just inspired me. To be honest, I wish I had a friend just like them in real life one day. Here’s another thing I wanted to point out about them, but they’re non-binary (like myself) and they happened to have been one of the first non-binary characters I’ve seen.
Lastly, Ash. I love them just as much as I love the bard, and they just might be my favorite character in the game. I know they’re a side character. I k n o w . But their whole character arc inspired me a lot. They are also non-binary and I’m so grateful that they are one of the first non-binary characters I’ve met. So first of all, here’s something weird that happened. The first time I looked at them I got an instinct that they were going to be an amazing character. Apparently, I was right. I actually could relate to them the most out of all of the characters because for one, both of us are dealing with loss. I could relate to their shyer personality and such as well. Like Miriam, I really wanted to protect them and such. My favorite moment of them is when they go out onstage by themselves to perform the overseer’s song. Like, that was brave of them despite them being scared earlier. I was just proud of them like they were a real person. I also think that it’s sweet of them to honor their mom by following her footsteps in traveling around the world and playing the accordion. Of course, I would’ve loved to see them in the game more, but what we got of them was still amazing as hell. You can say I’m overpraising Ash and that they aren’t as cool as I’m saying they are, but this is just my opinion and I’m really glad that they exist.
This entire game has given me hope for the future, and maybe one day... I’ll try to make more friends like the bard themself. Honestly, I really hope I find more games similar to this one because I loved how happy this was. It cheered me up on days I was sad and I kinda get sad easily with this situation we are all in right now. For now, I’ll just be hanging around in the fandom I guess. I should work on stuff for Wandersong’s anniversary but I dunno what to make lol. But wow... this is my favorite video game right now and I hope more people play it one day.
I just love how...unified the whole game is. It's so wholesome and honestly worth crying over. Even the fandom is entirely civil, I haven't seen a *single* fight the whole time I've been in it. Everyone's so polite! It's just as unified as the game.
Also just gonna note how *every* act has something to love about it, my personal favorite is Act Four. *Every* character has something to like about them. My favorite is actually Audrey because you gotta wonder what happened to make her that way, which gives her a nice amount of dimensions. All in all, the perfect game. Worth every single second.
I think I love it so much because I had no expectations going into it; I got it off the game pass and just expected something I'd uninstall in a minute. Nope, I got my favorite game of all time. Wow.
It deserves so much more praise than it gets! We got a pure, cute protagonist, an interesting, truly hate-inducing antagonist, a wonderful deuteroganist, and wow, masterpieces of game design! So many details (6.9% faster if you dab? exactly) and things to note.
I actually played it without sound, and I feel the experience was more stoic as a result, which im pissed about, I wish I could play it for the first time again. I'm planning a second playthrough *with* sound soon, actually.
All in all, the perfect game. So much praise for this. Thank you to everyone who helped create it, and supported it. Like, this is a breathtaking game.
Eya- an immortal goddess who begins and ends worlds with a mere song in a cycle that has existed for all eternity.
Audrey- the hero chosen by said goddess to bring about the end by killing off all the overseers of concepts in the universe, has a lightning sword that kills giants in one hit and likes bees
Miriam- a witch that trained scince birth in the art of blowing things up with magic
Bard- literally just some guy who enjoys singing
but they're SO MUCH MORE THAN THAT! Kiwi (bard's canon name) is a good singer, a passionate person, a hard worker, and strives to make everyone around them happy.

I think my favorite thing about Wandersong is this belief that it holds that even at the end of the world, we'll still love and care for each other. Everyone you meet at the end of the world cares for you and those around them, even when they know that it doesn't ultimately matter in any cosmic sense, and at the end of the story that ends up being enough to save the world.
Another really poignant belief that I see this game present is the one that everyone is important. Ultimately it's the bard's ability to listen to others and to view them as important and worthwhile that helps him get as far as he did by making the friends who helped him get to where he needed to be. Audrey is the opposite of this- she believes that she's only important because of her role given to her, and she doesn't stop to consider that the lives of the overseers are worth protecting or considering. Ultimately it was that difference in viewpoint that allowed the Bard to save the world that Audrey was trying to destroy. Even if you aren't all that special or strong, it's enough to just care about people and to try

This track reminds me of when I finished Celeste. I was both happy and sad. I climbed the mountain but it was over.

I just completed this game tonight. What an incredible experience. I cannot describe it. It’s a silly game, considering you can DAB on the creators of the game, but it’s still so emotional as well. It comes together for this one song. 75 people, from across Twitter, came together to create the chorus for this wonderful song. Some on fancy microphones, while some simply recorded on their phones and laptops. But they all came together, to create something beautiful. If anyone of those people find this comment, thank you. Thank you for making my world a little brighter.

There are a thousand things I could say. I could describe my each and every experience with this game, every moment of the game that made me feel, but then I’d just be naming every moment in the game. Wandersong is absolutely something special, but you don’t need me to tell you that. I’ll just talk about my favorite moment in the whole game. On my first playthrough, I fell in love with the game. I loved the Bard, and Miriam, and all their quirky friends and adventures. I knew the end would definitely be a huge song number, it isn’t exactly rocket science to predict that, but I didn’t know how the number would go. It surpassed my every expectation. It was amazing. I personally believe the Wandersong to be the greatest payoff I have ever experienced in a game. And as the song went on, and reached its climax, I saw everyone I had met on the journey, and as the camera zoomed down to show who was leading the charge, in a spotlight, I was ready to see the Bard in their greatest moment. But I didn’t see that. I saw something infinitely better. Miriam singing. I don’t know what happened then. I think I laughed, I probably cried. Just that one moment, of seeing the fulfillment of that character arc... So much emotion escaped me, nothing, no book, movie, TV show, video game, or anything else on the face of the watch ever did something like that for me.
This song... I don't know how to properly explain it, but has such an honest, comforting feeling to it. Somehow, it inspires to do my best and not give up, no matter how hard I'd wanted to.
Truly a wonderful song to end this wonderful game on, and what a fitting song for the little bard.
At the time of typing this I've only been in this fandom for about 2 months, but I've never felt more at home. This game means so much to me and I've met some really wonderful people too because of it. I'm super glad I got to play something really, really beautiful.

god the way everyones voices blend together and harmonize by the end makes me so happy but so sad at the same time. this world was almost destroyed, this wonderful beautiful world. none of it is real of course, but i wish our world could be more like this one. thank you for working on such a wonderful game that touched me in ways i never thought a game could. the more i think about it the more i love it.
what's interesting about the voices in this song is that they just got random people off twitter to record themselves singing, and they didn't ask for people who specifically could sing. Some of the people could sing very well, and some people couldn't sing too well, but all the singers that lent their voices harmonized and sang beautifully together because regardless of their talent or whatever quality recording they had, they all tried their hardest, and they all put so much heart into it.

I know that the game developers probably didn't want to try to do anything with her, because there IS a real threat of doing anything with her would spoil the mood, but if the entire world is supposed to sing in harmony, then I can't help but reflect:

She refused to sing along and perished with the old world. Don't feel bad though; she got what she wanted in the end, and chances are she never knew what she missed out on.
Well, one possibility is that she realized that her attempts were antagonistic and futile, and either disappeared by will to start a new life, or a much more depressing, less likely alternative; killed herself. Or, possibly, she redeemed herself.
*Or she fucking died.*
Audrey is honestly one of my favorite characters in the game, she seems so one-dimensional at first, but it's quite the opposite. I guess the world is united in peace and all, so there's probably no more wars, crime, any of that. Audrey's probably the only sad one.

3:50 to 4:09 was my favorite part of this entire song, even if it is very short
Everytime I'm down now, I'm reminded of this little bard that went through even more trying times (like the end of the world) and still remains happy because he knows he can see through to the end. Nothing stops him. Even when he gets depressed, the ones around him help lift him up and he still never let everything go. I really want to be like that. Always optimistic and always able to see things (even the worst) to the end. So many times I see people give up. I do myself. But this game and story has kept that message in my head to never quit. Also it proves how important everyone around you is- even strangers. I hope I can live just a fraction of the story that this bard has lived.
I watched an entire playthrough of this game and when this moment happened I was absolutely sobbing my eyes out 😅

You know I'm gonna speak my mind, its been a little while since I've beaten wandersong. I went back through some parts to do all the achievements since a game like this deserves it. This game has been on my mind a lot and I wanted to glean something from such a wonderful experience so I've tried to become a more outgoing kind of person, despite being the total opposite for so many years. I guess what I'm saying is that I'm speechless and this game is an almost life changing thing. Some may not see eye to eye with me but I feel like this is one of the best games out there.
my laptop kinda sucks so this part was a little laggy / out of sync (the singing vs music), but it was still so beautiful. one of the best endings I've ever seen in any game.
When I feel like I can't continue and everything has gone to shit I always listen to this song. It somehow instills new hope in me, that things can and will get better. The sektion with just the choir at the end makes me cry everytime. Crying has never felt better. Thank you for this masterpiece.

I loved this game so much. It's so underrated and it's so calming in a way. My favorite part were the ending and the pirate ship. And the bard, don't even get me started on him. He never gave up and brought back hope. I should play it again someday..
I just beat the game after having wanted to play it for ages and lemme tell you it's easily in my 10 all time favorites now. Everything was so beautiful in the game and the music was so inspiring and charming I wanted to dance as much as the bard did! When the whole ending scene was playing I was crying my eyes out, it was too beautiful with the harmony and seeing all the locales and friends we had made along the way. Will never stop loving this game!

This part, made me *cry.* Seeing the world slowly die out & everyone singing, just made me want to sing along. Just *mmph* this just became one of my favorite games of all time. I wish I could experience it all over again. I just wish I had enough tears when this moment happened, I wanted to cry more. But I ran out of crying juice. Our Bard Boi is extremely precious, I love him so much.
Eya, I don't know what else to say, this game was amazing. I'd wish it got a sequel, but I know we don't need one.
I like how the Bard sometimes breaks into dance during the video.

going back to this makes me want to reply the entire game from start to finish for a 4th time
In my entire life only 1 other game has made me feel like that, it’s a feat to make a game so powerful that the ending makes your crave more, not crave more as in unsatisfied or wanting to have more games but to want to relive the experience, to love the game, laugh at the jokes, get annoyed and actually *play* the game.
To make a game that has little replayability but is still so wonderfully constructed that it allmost makes you cry is truly a challange that I barely see from Indi games none the less big company’s and I am so great full I got to experience this game, I didn’t 100% it and never landed the songs perfectly and that’s ok
This game is amazingly perfect and amazing all on its own and I’m happy I got to be apart of it

This game is so fucking underappreciated everything about it is so fucking good all the way from the art and music to the characters and story
maybe a weird link, but I played The Outer Wilds before this game, and the intro to this song is eerily reminiscent to the song that plays whenever the sun is about to explode in The Outer Wilds, so to me with my unique experience, that makes Wandersong even more impactful. it highlights that the world is ACTIVELY ending, and the Bard saves it from the brink of destruction.
One of my favourite songs in the game, though it's very difficult to choose just one.
Loved this final part! I was sort of hoping that Audrey would finally have to give in and join in the chorus, otherwise the entire world wouldn't be in sync. Wonder what happened to her?

okay i literally just finished this game last night but i was too wowed to really hear the song. now that im listening to this a second time the feels are washing over me and im already feeling nostalgic :’)
The Earthsong in it’s very concept was flawed. It was never meant to be a single person carrying the weight of the world- and that’s why the Wandersong (haha also the title of the game) did.
The Wandersong wasn’t just the Bard- Nor Miriam, nor the songs of the Overseers. It was everybody else, too. But there wasn’t a little voice nor one that zoned out the rest, and that’s why it worked- because in his actions to pursue the Earthsong, the Bard brought the world together- allowing it to survive the birth of Eya’s new universe.

Wandersong was a good game and still is. It’s one of the most underrated games in my opinion. For me it was happy then sad and almost every emotion. 10/10 would recommend same with a hat in time ( another game made by humble bundle) they are both great and I would play a sequel ( if they made one for both the games)
