I can't thank you enough for this video Dan. With all of the turmoil going on in the United states government right now. I just really needed something to get me out of my depressed mood and smile again. Thank you so much for entertaining us. Looking forward to the next one
Nice clean job of replacing that quarter panel, glad you bought that trunk extension that would have been a dead giveaway that someone had been in there before. Now that problem is finished. fourty years in the future all of your work will look like origional Mopar production. Great job of saving an old Plymouth. Enjoy watching and learning on all your builds
2 things Dan. The car deserves a scuff and shoot green to match the rest not patina....gotta think long term more money. And two, you need to make up some tire rigging blocks that put the car up so you dont have to be on the floor all the time...helps with the old man back 👍🤣
Love the green glad that you are keeping it especially with how clean the under hood is on that car man Dan this is going to be a really nice car when it's done (done lol)
Dan that is the best work Ive seen you do. GOOD job on that 1/4.. NOW take that DAM door handle off and lock cyl and get a correct green for that PLYMOUTH and do the rest of the job like you did that 1/4.
Great job man...When doing skins I flange the edge of the body right above the cut, creating a step so that the new quarter skin can lay flush with the body and it's easier to weld with less chance for warping..You can get a little vicegrip type flanger for cheap, and it makes skins a little easier..Full quarters are the best of course, but as you said..."they ain't cheap" and don't make sense on every car.
Good god Dan the way you run the grinder and welder you could repair teeth fillings with ease . Excellent work buddy . Give the ol’ hounds a pet for me will ya’ . Cheers
Smart to buy the drop outs. Rattle can the car color on the door and quarter primer. With bottle caps on steel wheels it will look like a early 60's sleeper. Even some new cars were bought to look that way then.
I like how you did the leading edge of the quarter. I was waffling how I was gonna join the quarters / door posts on the 72 Cutlas notch back to fastback swap. I like how this turned out so will be doing the same. Thanks for the timely video on this! I hope to be tacking mine together next week.
To be honest, i like that car, i like this kind of green , i like the patina and i also like that you are about to fake patina it like the rest of the car already looks like! And you did a very good job again!
Great work. I like how so many people want you to paint it so you can make more money. It seems to me that you usually sell your cars after. A person looking for a good project car would like your cars because most of the hard work has been done already. They can paint it however they want. You don’t come across as a guy who is in it to get rich. Just someone who likes working on old cars.
I know you have done this kind of work a lot and some of the easier to you stuff may be boring, but I love your channel, not others and I want and need to learn some of your tricks but can't see them if you jump/skip too much, but thx for the entertainment and i really appreciate the education. I will watch either way
I’m in Australia and used to ship cars here from the states . I must have seen at least a dozen times a rear quarter skin put straight over the top of the rooted one ..haha . I learned to look inside the trunk under the carpet for sledgehammer marks.. Nice body guys in the lower 48 ..
The whole time I wanted you to give us a shot straight down the quarter. First big panel I ever did that mattered was the wheel arches in my 8’ fleet side bed.. never again, next time I’m buying new bedsides lol. Let’s just say I’d never be brave enough to paint it gloss black 😆
The piece on the wheel tub is there because the quarter is so long, adds rigidity support so the quarter won't oil can and flap. Just as a large hood and trunk lid has bracing underneath.
Way to go Dan your work since I've been watching your show as improved you are always really good installing the full quarter panels instead of patch panels seems to really make a hell of a lot better job love your program I'll keep watching thanks a lot
NicE WORK DAN! Might I suggest a welding blanket to cover up the glass. Hard work pays off, always grinding man keep it up! Im just changing my quarter on my nova and yes its a bit of work!!
Hey Dan! Yeah, that quarter panel is looking pretttty good! Knew ya could do it! Yeah, these Plymouths are verrrry long compared to the Chevy Nova's...Ah, you'll do fine with the rest of this car. The floor looks grreat too!!! Black/ flat black steel wheels & chrome lug nuts were common back in the day too..
It is very satisfying when you can stand back and see a full rear quarter and not a bunch of holes nice job

Hang in there Man! Better days ahead..
@@Stahodad Thanks you. I appreciate that very much
Just knowing you are in the garage filming things for us every day is awesome thanks dan you guys need a vacation
Thanks for watching man!
Im glad you shared this, I like this method of but welding by cutting the fat out as you tack weld the quarter in.. Nice!
I like your style. Your doing great on the 68. Keep up the good work. Can't wait till its complete!
The two panel stitch cut is by far the best method.
Your decision to match the weathered green paint makes me sooo happy! I was hoping you would paint it that way.
dan, you work at speed! wow!
tip for you...zinc primer inside and out, then epoxy primer, then filler, finishing primer and paint.
Paint, don't paint, it don't matter. The structure repair you are doing is most important. You are going to have a very solid hotrod!!!

Good progress. A lot of work to get that rear quarter on. Glad you put in new trunk extensions. It’s a neater job in the long run.
I know a guy who's using 1grit with factree results 👍
Great work Dan!
Is it a 1 grit brick
Hell yeah nice work dan on the roach runner one step closer to getting it on the road
Fitzees fabrication would be proud. Great job!
you are a machine killing it glad you include us
That piece in the trunk pan is called a Trunk Extension. Nice work my friend!
Good tip on the 45 degree cuts. And yes it will give a lot closer gap to weld.
I saw the 45% trick at Fitzees Fabrications.
Old time garage is great! They mention you there too. Rick is a fan
Rick is pretty 😎 awesome
Old time is another one for good content.
Nice! I love rick
I'm suscribed to both channels, learn a lot from them. Great repair, keep the videos coming. Regards !!
You did a nice job on that quarter. The Plymouth goin to be cool.
You are very talented metalworker.
Man I'm digging the two tone black and green /and that its new and old metal
Full paint job. Will look way cool.

primer is great to leave it in for the look I just had rust that's left for " patina "
Love the green glad that you are keeping it especially with how clean the under hood is on that car man Dan this is going to be a really nice car when it's done (done lol)

Great work Dan. Diggin this build and can’t wait to hear what motor you find for it.
Love this stuff the 1971 C10 is educational cause I’m working on a 1971 Jimmy.
Good god Dan the way you run the grinder and welder you could repair teeth fillings with ease . Excellent work buddy . Give the ol’ hounds a pet for me will ya’ . Cheers
I had a '69. Love the lines on them. It's looking good dude!
Looks good, great job man! I envy your skill.
Nicely Done!! Can't wait for the next installment........

Good job! Sounds like Justin playing in the background
The green in those years was my favorite color. I think the fake patina you do with the green looks good.
would be nice to see you paint it! great work brother

Well done once again Dan!!!!
The piece on the wheel tub is there because the quarter is so long, adds rigidity support so the quarter won't oil can and flap. Just as a large hood and trunk lid has bracing underneath.

I would say that piece welded on the wheel tub...Was a piece welded on to use as a pull point when straightening out the tub after accident...
Plymouthy. Great name for my firstborn.
Cool! Nice job Dan

Black/ flat black steel wheels & chrome lug nuts were common back in the day too..
Great repair Dan, I saw a very similar repair technique over on Fitz channel. At least it aint all minty green anymore lol
Nice work -will try to add a 1969 Chevelle SS hood bulge panel onto my 1977 Monte Carlo.hood using the zip cut / tack weld process.
Another big job done very well. Keep up the good work.
Awesome work
Cut and butt. Awesome job!
Really enjoying this build, nice work Dan 😎👍
Wow great job!!
Nice work, looks good. I like that 45 degree angle cut idea for seam welds. Seems like it would penetrate better.
