I had a 66 Sport Fury with a 440 4-speed. In 67, was a very good engine. , had 86000 miles on it when I sold it. I wish I still had it. I had a lot of fun with it. Enjoyed the video.

I love fixing up old busted stuff! Fifties and sixties Fords and Chevys were the most fun. I've gotten so old that small engines are the only things I fix now. Lighter and easier work! Great video!

You are amazing tearing these cars apart, diagnosing the problems and putting them together to have a running and driving car. I really enjoy your channel. Bob Martin Phoenix.
Very cool budget build series! I’m loving the Two lane blacktop 55! I’m surprised a lot of people don’t remember that movie. Hoping the front or especially the rear main seal doesn’t come back and bite you in the ass. I would replace the water pump as it’s been sitting all those years. Cheap and easy. Try sand blasting those headers, and then shooting them with a silver high heat paint. I did a couple sets years ago, and even though they turned a white color around the bends, the paint is still pretty intact. I’m a Pontiac guy myself. Built and restored dozens of them over the last 40 years! Keep the videos coming!
Love your vids Dan I don't care how long they are they always keep my interest!!! I'm retired mechanic then parts manager ford and Chrysler and I miss it. Thank you for what you do!!!
Wow! Those look like 6 pack connecting rods! Much wider beam than a regular 440. However, the damper on there is not a 6 pack damper, which would have a special weight on the front of it to balance the rotating assembly. It is possible that a machine shop did a balance job to convert it to internal balance. If you get a vibration in the engine when you get it running, that could be the problem.

Take a look on the passenger side of the motor just above the oil pan rail. There is a machined surface there that has the last 8 digits of the VIN. If it matches the VIN on your title / the dash plate / the driver door near the latch, you have the original motor to the car (numbers matching). That can add $$$ when you choose to sell.
