- The fight goes on! Luton Town came from a goal down to see off AFC Bournemouth on an emotional and exciting afternoon at Kenilworth Road to give their Premier League survival hopes a real shot in the arm.
Kev is joined by The Lutonian journalist James Cunliffe, who's rather more smug after a spot-on prediction, to reflect on a rollercoaster day with a look back at the 90 minutes from start to finish, picking out the key moments.
The lads then look at the key personnel from the match, what it does to the survival battle and the huge confidence boost the win provides.
Hear all that plus reaction from Rob Edwards, Carlton Morris, Cauley Woodrow and Jordan Clark on the longest running Luton Town podcast!

The Luton Town Supporters' Trust was created, and initially named Trust in Luton, in 2003 to help force out unpopular former owner John Gurney.
Current club chief executive Gary Sweet was part of the group that effectively forced the club into administration and out of Mr Gurney's control, for a new consortium to take over, headed up by Bill Tomlins.
Another change of ownership again brought problems and administration followed again in 2007, until the club was eventually bought out by the fan-led 2020 consortium, headed up by Sweet, which has now helped steer the history-making Hatters from the non-league to the Premier League.
The Supporters' Trust is a democratic, non-profit organisation run by fans for fans. The purpose of a Trust is to help fans to join together and strengthen their influence over the way Luton Town Football Club is run, and to improve the links between their club and the community it serves.
In a way, we’re like a union, believing that many voices are stronger than one and that the best way to influence the club is to represent many fans, not just ourselves.
What a game and result, was really nervous in the first half especially with the noticeable wind against us but we did what we had to do and got the 3 points in the end great performance from the lads they were really good and what a fight back again !!! COYH !! We are the famous Luton town
Incredible day, well deserved too for the amount they put in to each and every game
R.I.P To all and also Big Joe !!! Legend COYH !! We are the famous Luton town
Great stuff as usual guys. I think James definitely has a future in narrating audio books for kids or something. So soothing on the ears. 😁. Love the show. 👍👍
AFCB fan, I hate losing games but well done Luton. You stayed in the game first half and dominated after we scored, your players had nothing left in the tank. Looked through Luton’s, Everton’s, Brentford and Forest fixtures. I couldn’t call it but I hope you stay up. Although I am Cherries fan, I enjoy the podcast and love the passion and feel your pain. All the best.
RIP BFJ 😢
That right hand goal post also played a part in the match
Well done Luton that's what football all about fab game from a cherries fan
Couldn't have been more proud of the lads, finally we get what we deserve. Notnsure how you guys see it but i think 30 points may be enough for us to survive. Palace may not pick up another point in the rest of their fixtures leaving them on 30. Everton well as long as we beat them they dont look likely to pick up more than 3/6 points and they have a point deduction headed their way. Which would leave them on 32/35 points plus point deductions. Forest could grab another 5/8 points which would leave them on 30/33 points. We on the other hand could pick up 10 points if we beat Brentford, Everton and Fulham with a point at Wolves.
Everything potentially could ride on that Everton game.
One down (Bournemouth), 3 to go. “Must win” home games against Brentford, Everton, and Fulham on the final day of the season, to come.
Interesting that we play 2 of the sides who smashed Luton for 7 recently in the Championship. No better time to exact a measure of revenge!
Will also need to get something on the road at WHU or Wolves.
City’s a free hit - expect nothing, but must protect the goal difference. Could be crucial on final day, when margin of victory over Fulham might be critical.
Pleased to hear you give praise to Reece Burke. My MOTM in the play off final. Did you notice it was Reece who broke up a Cherries attack that led to our winner seconds later. When you think of the crap written about Luton pre season and the reality of now I'm sure we are all bursting with pride at the displays these lads have put on. Just look at social media and you'll see lots of criticism from Forest and Everton fans about their teams, you'd be hard pushed to find any from Hatters fans.
We're all in it together!
It was a fantastic win.Come on luton
Man Utd must have a cracking set of centre-backs, if they could afford to get rid of Teden Mengi.
There is an alternative view. Man Utd “don’t know what they are doing”. But hey, Luton are not complaining!
The man utd shirt was way to heavy for him where he's at his level now...👍
@@MadMurdock69 You might have an argument if Ten Hag tried him. But he didn’t.
@Opensesame_2030 Well he ain't going to start before Varane & martinez..
Even lindelof..
Also he weren't experienced enough..
@@MadMurdock69 Perhaps you haven’t noticed BUT:
- Martinez has been out virtually all season
- Lindelof has been injury prone and is out again for a month
- Varane struggles to play 2 games a week and is now out injured again until May maybe
- Jonny Evans is 36, prone to picking up injuries and can’t manage more than a game every two weeks
AND the big thing the whole United back line lack is PACE something Teden Mengi has in abundance. That’s why there is a chasm in midfield when you play against them.
Their forwards high press, but because their back line is so slow, they drop deep leaving two players to cover 40 metres in midfield against the opponent’s 4 or 5.
Anyway why should we care? United’s loss is very much Luton’s gain.
Mengi is a prospective England centre back in about 5 years if he continues his current rate of progress. Must be one of our players of the season along with the likes of Barkley, Doughty and Karminski
@Opensesame_2030 He'll need to move to a much bigger club which ain't DIFFICULT btw to get a England call up..👍
Glad you caught Alfie drawing a defender out on the Morris goal (thought it was deliberate but perhaps not) and both defenders made just enough space for Woodrow's cross. Clark driving with it was a factor in creating chances. I thought Kabore, like Mengi brought a lot of physicality really taking risks and I thought he was key also.
Well done the town 🎉👏👏🧡. The fall and rise of Luton Town on you tube is a good watch 🧡COYH
Amazing day …the passion was wonderful to experience. Yesss! Only comment on the game is around the use of Barclay. Wonder if at times he was overused and the ball was passed to him when he wasn’t in the greatest of positions and he was put under needless pressure.
Didn't we shoot towards the Kenny end first because we lost the toss?
I've always preferred us playing towards the Oak Road in 2nd half, so hopefully it'll happen more in our remaining home matches. 🥃⚽🥃
Come on James, share the lyrics!
Just me or is the audio on this one really quiet?
One word Mengi
I fancy us v City, their heads will be full of Real Madrid, nice little 3-2 perhaps! Imagine that, 28pts going into Brentford!!!
Then you woke up..
City will smash you..
DOWNIE AND THE NONCEY PODCAST

Did your dad write that???
Looks like Oscar Wilde's entered the chat.
