The fun thing about this concept is if you give 10 people the same description all ten will draw a different picture. It's interesting to see how you imagine the characters.
We need a part two but with the whole character details stripped right out of the book, like quotes the book makes to paint in the image instead of it prompting. Hard to describe but kinda like "Glasses on his face with a scar running down, his eyes were blue like the sky, stern cold gaze" I'm not a writer but I hope you got the idea just reading what the book did to describe the character than drawing that as you read.

I feel like Alan Rickman was a good choice for Severus. While he is older than the character he portrays, I feel like that help give him that unhealthy depressed look. He also has the stern expression and he lives that character. While not exactly the right physique, he was close enough and a great actor.
Appearance? Not really, considering the only references we get to actual looks make it clear Snape is an ugly bastard. Amazing actor? Yes. But he got told that Rowling thing's he's a hero so Rickman toned down Snape from a massively abusive asshole to "snarky and a bit of a jerk". Rather than threatening to poison someone's pet then punishing him when his pet doesn't die, he instead gives an almost disinterested threat that he thinks Harry is up to something. So he doesn't really play Snape as he's portrayed in the books
@@MurasakiTsukimaru yes, of course he is different, however, with what was kept in the movies, I feel like that makes sense. Of course that’s just my opinion. He is less of a bastard, but it helps make the love for lily more realistic, not to mention, it emphasizes how James was really the bad guy in their youth. It has a lot less impact when the victim is an Ahole.
the expression is on point tho the face is not even close. the nost is short and not hooked enough or long even, the hair have strands that do not "frame" the face really. the teeth arent yellowing as in the books. also the hair looks more shiny and sleek here than the greasy unkempt curtains like described in the books. This snape looks more like Filch that anything😂
Alan Rickman nailed Snape. Period. In fact the only one that really didn’t look like the book (talking film versions) is The Hunger Games heroin. But all these sketches (well except Lincoln lol) were great 👍🏻
For future reference, "whiskers" is an old expression used to describe a beard, and I tend to think that it also generally describes particularly a thick and wiry one at that since authors usually qualify their description if it is not. Just to save you on future mystery Abe Lincoln portraits ;)
Not only that but I remember reading stories about the little girl who suggested that Lincoln grow his "whiskers" out because they would fill his face in and make him more handsome. That was the word she used - "whiskers".
@@Rodger_Phillips Well, it's old to those a generation or two later. And it could also depend on where you grew up, whether the expression is still in use. In my experience, it was a term I only came across in books like Little House on the Prairie, or Old Yeller or something like that. My grandparents and great-grandmother never used the expression themselves either, but they were from up North and some came from a line of immigrants in the early 1900s, so naturally it wasn't part of their vocabulary. But I understand that the expression was also used more so in the deep south, and may still be used there for all I know.
@@midoriemi3859 Lol, tbh, I'm not sure I've ever looked up the definition in a dictionary - it's just the definition I learned from reading it in context. I actually have no idea if the definition is supposed to mean a thick or wiry beard, but there always seemed to be a weird phenomenon where authors would add further descriptions if it didn't fall under what I supposed to be a "standard thick beard".
"Man, not old" is such an odd way of describing a character, but it does give the impression the man is young, but doesn't make you feel like he is. It's the dumbest and most genius description at the same time I have seen yet lmao
actually perfectly lines up with the lore for the Witcher as Geralt is immortal and he's supposed to be around a century old but he still looks relatively young
@@serpentking1039 except he only looks young for his age. he looks around 50 or so but is 160 at least in the books in the games later he is around 200 and looks like 70
The Witcher drawing is actually realllyyyy close to Geralt from the first Witcher game (which they drew exactly as written in the books). I had to pause the video to say it; this is amazing.
@@kaelhyun2401 Exactly. I think the depiction in the games is fair because they're essentially a sequel. Things happen. They started off with basically the book version and went from there.
Katniss Everdeen is actually described as having dark olive skin and dark eyes in the books, so she is probably brown and not white. So I think your depiction of her is actually more accurate than the casting of the movie!
I looked it up and it wasn’t dark olive skin or dark eyes, it was just olive toned with grey eyes and straight black hair down to her back. I always pictured Italian woman with New York grey blue.
@@tomboymjr I personally while reading the books always envisioned her as a woman of color-I think one just because I am one myself and could identify with her more that way, and two it resonates more with her story being from the most impoverished district to also be a part of a marginalized racial community. But yes it’s definitely open to interpretation, she could also very well just be a white person with a tan, that’s the beauty of books to envision characters as you please! (Also I didn’t include the description verbatim, her skin tone is described as dark in one segment and olive toned in others, same with her eyes described as dark and also grey, it was just for simplicity sake)
Shocked we didn't see any LOTR characters in here. The book descriptions of Gollum, Frodo and Bilbo are very interesting compared to how everyone is now used to them from the films
@@hoi6441 Agreed the Movie version was GREAT. Just really interesting to see just how different some of the characters are. Oddly the Wizards are probably the closest, especially Radagast.
@@kimmyawesomeness4184 I beleive the difference is usually in material and unitards don't typically have arms (though its not impossible) leotards and unitards tend to be maid of a fairly light, stretchy material, since they are made for movement, where body suits tend to be thicker and less stretch, with more imbelishments, like buckles and studs and things like that
The final one being a historical person is definitely a deferent probably harder challenge, especially without any clothing descriptions. This challenge reminded me of police sketches. 😁
That'd be an interesting episode. Have his team pick out some notorious figures like serial killers, mob bosses, outlaws from the wild west, etc. Also, totally separate but drawing other artists (from his team's descriptions), current RUclips artists, as well as historical artists, would be interesting

Liked the medium skin tone on Katniss. It's been years since I read the books but I'm pretty sure she was described with olive skin and her father was implied/coded to be native American
Yea she's described as having the appearance of someone from "The Seam" who are described as commonly having olive skin, black hair, and grey eyes. A bit surprised that they didn't put that description in there since it mentions it in the first book.
@@alanamerrell2027 hmm I don't think she's more iconic than Snape, at least not in terms of how long they've been around and he had more obvious descriptions. Also, a lot know her from the movies where she isn't olive skinned.
Thanks for the feedback gang! People have pointed out my thumbnail is similar to a series by Lavendertowne, the content in the video is different to her approach (I had no idea who I was drawing, my team prepared the prompts so it could be a surprise), and I hadn't seen her series at the time of recording, however when making the thumbnail I did see her videos and loved the thumbnail presentation and emulated the style - in my 10 years on youtube I've emulated many styles of thumbnails and many people have emulated my successful thumbnails and titles, that's a very common thing and just a part of navigating content creation on the platform - I hope you understand where I'm coming from, but I'm open to feedback or further thoughts! ❤️
Gonna be honest, when I saw the thumbnail I assumed it was a Drawfee video! So I dunno, maybe there's just a lot of art channels with a similar presentation style!
The only similarities I see between you and lavender is the thumbnail. But many ppl have used it. I knew it was your team that helped you, and I knew you wouldn’t copy anyone on purpose. You’re a great person Jazza.

I think the fact that you didn’t know who you were drawing gives the video more of a game-show feel. It’s clear that the thumbnail is inspired by LavenderTowne’s video series, but you’re not copying her exact video. There’s nothing wrong with having a similar looking thumbnail, hell, most reaction RUclipsrs use the same surprised face with a red background and then whatever the subject of the video is. Wow, your Geralt was sooo cool, I'd believe it immediately people felt uncomfortable near him, great talent! Also: very similar to what I've been imagining while reading the book
This would be really cool if you did this with a lot of people and see how different artists drew something with the same description see how much difference there would be
8:50 Potter fans should instantly know who this is. Though I must say this version is creepier than the movie version, and maybe even than how I imagined him when I first read the books. I like how he choose a green background, even though he didn't know at the time that it was Snape, who is a Slytherin.
@@bilalsala Well, if you watched it and didn't like it you still may possibly recognize him as Snape, though you don't like the movie itself. Or not. I don't know 🤔.
My girlfriend recently pointed out that a lot of the grown ups in Harry Potter are supposed to be in their early 30's instead of late 40's like their actors and that kinda changes the story and actions of those characters, a lot. Great video btw!
That’s actually impressive. He got Katniss closer to my interpretation of the book character than the movie did. He even got the skin tone correct on a guess (katniss was described as having “olive skin” which is what he got)
I really recommend watching LavenderTownes video on this as well! Her “By the Book” series had a hunger games video that did this well. I think it was released a couple years ago
As soon as I saw "black leotard", "warm/firey cape, and "braided hair down back" I thought of Katniss's outfit she had to wear at the beginning of the first game she was in. I was honestly surprised at how accurate to the story the drawing was (at least that I can remember. Haven't read/watched it in over a year) Great job!
“Drawing people EXACTLY as described in the book”…. Takes like 5 bullet point descriptions from each. You’re right I believe on Katniss. I do not know why more information wasn’t provided. With their talent, I’d be incredibly interested to see like the full 4 page description of the character. And then see how they would draw them to bring them to life.
One idea I just had that I think would be neat would be for the audience to submit their own charcaters along with Descriptions of their appearence and editors would pick their own favourites for jazza to see the descriptions blind
Oh I love that! Like for him to maybe either do a series or just a few short videos of the audience sending in DND oc descriptions or just regular oc descriptions and having him draw a few!
Man from all things, I think I seriously seriously I’m in love with your Severus Snape. Like being a huge potter head, a man was that cool to watch another very very accurate depiction of Snape overall a great art work!
I would love to see an accurate drawing of Frankensteins Monster- the green skin was used in the black and white because it showed shades better, but the original monster is actual pieces of flesh with different skin tones
Frankenstein's monster, The Phantom, and Dracula would make a great Halloween episode. Could also throw in The Invisible Man for good measure. Or just put Satan from Faust, who apparently has a squirrel like tail.
I knew the first one was Katniss since the moment he drew the braided hair, and he the warm colors cape, but I wish there was a bow in the description too. And Severus was pretty obvious too, greasy long black hair is the symbol of that character xD
Funny thing is, if you reread the books, Snape's hair isn't as greasy as Harry constantly describes it to be (that disconnect is there for thematic reasons). As someone who's worked with hair before, Snape's hair being described as mobile as it is clashes with greasiness. The dude's hair is probably greasy because he spends several hours a day in a Potions classroom.
Katniss actually was said to have straight, black hair and an 'olive' complexion, so you got her better than the movies! (except that she had grey eyes)
Again decided to play along here are my guesses and if they are right or not. 1. Reyna from Heroes of Olympus (even though I forgot how old she is, and if she has a headpiece)(also for some reason the braid, and the cape are pulling me towards Reyna): ❌ 2. Honestly I do not know but I'm still gonna guess, I wanted to say Remus Lupin because of the scared face but it can't be him.. maybe Merlin (although I think Merlin is way before medieval setting): ❌❌ 3. I don't know which gives me an automatic X because I did not actually guess: ❌ Although maybe Arthur Pendragon or Edward Tudor (although I'm pretty sure Ed has brown/darker hair): ❌ (As you can tell I don't read a variety of books) 4. Severus Snape: ✔️ 5. I'm not gonna guess automatic X: ❌
I really want a part 2! Although maybe with Wings of Fire characters? There are humans and dragons so you can practice your creativity with different species!
The Geralt was spot on for the books. He’s described as lean. Henry Cavill is awesome as Geralt, but if you’re a fan of the books, he’s not quite that big and muscular.
Same with Robert E. Howard's Conan character. Conan is described as more lean than massively muscular, more of a rogue-like character. Arnold Schwarzenegger's biceps we're so big during filming he couldn't properly swing the sword.
2:45 I was VERY proud to say that I got this first one right lol. I heard “braided hair” and immediately thought of her, though the firey cape caught me off guard. I forgot about the scene where she was literally on fire lol
Me too! When I saw the hair I guessed it was her. Somehow the cape made sense even though I didn't remember the cape. The headpiece confused me but I stick with her. Good job!
They really made things harder on him with some of these descriptions, like, I know for a fact that Katniss' hair, skin and eyes are all described in the books, and Snape's skin is described as sallow, which is a way better descriptor than unhealthy. That said, I could still guess who they all were from description alone, besides the last one, so I guess they're described well enough.
no same they didnt do a great job decribing the charaters at all definitely thought they would have put in basic info like skin colour hair colour or texture eye colour
Yeah Lincoln was the worst description ever. They could have gone with very tall, short Amish bread, 1800s, thick dark hair, big nose. Instead they gave a completely random list of things that aren't even very Lincoln. Gangly? The dude was built like a tree and was known for his physical strength as a young man
Yeah, I'm not sure what their game is. For example, I'm almost positive that Snape gets described as having black eyes in the books on multiple occasions (i.e. presumably just so dark of a brown that it's hard to tell the pupils from the irises), yet they didn't mention that at all in the description. He came to that conclusion on his own, but they really shouldn't be claiming the video to be drawing the characters 'exactly' as described in the book if they're not going to use as much of the book's descriptions as possible. It seems like they're trying to give him deliberately vague descriptions in order to make sure he doesn't guess the character (for example, Geralt having yellow eyes with slit-like pupils is mentioned frequently in the books). If they want to get unique designs out of him that won't be as heavily influenced by him guessing the character partway through, they should drip-feed him the descriptions. Give him just enough information to get a design going, then start dropping stuff like eye colors/defining features that he can implement after the fact. I suppose it could just be that his crew are just too lazy to spend any amount of time searching for descriptors, which would be a shame.
Katniss' gray eyes, dark hair, and olive skin, which set her apart from her blue-eyed, blonde-haired sister and mother, are a pretty big part of the book
Katniss skin isn't mentioned in the book. That was only art that I thought was bad, it didnt look anything like her, his art was like a superhero from DC or something
Aside from Lincoln, the only one I knew was Snape and I never read the books, only saw the movies. I think they made a good choice going with Alan Rickman because he looks like the drawing you did which was, btw, absolutely amazing! They were all good in their own right, but the Snape one was fantastic! I applaud that one!
He doesn't, he's way older than his character. The whole generation of hp's parents is actually younger in the books then the actors playing them in the movies. Snape... He died at 38, he's 31 when we meet him first.
@@Rose-hh7mk yeah, he's sort of depressed person, he lost all he loves and has to teach, and he clearly hates it. His mother died, his love betrayed him and died, one of his friends died, another is believed to die in azkaban (his friends were Regulus Black and Barty Crouch Jr) Also note that JKR sees flying figures in black cloaks repeatedly in her nightmares when she's depressed, so Snape, thestrals and dementors and the death eaters are her literal depression.
As much as I liked Alan Rickman's portrayal, I always felt he was too nice looking to play Snape. While he could play a harsh, intimidating man with a mean streak a mile wide, his Snape never felt "slimy" or "creepy". Jazza's drawing actually looks creeptastic.

I feel like he should do what Lavendertowne does, which is take snippets directly from the books, about how the characters are described It gives you a better idea of what the characters look like, and makes it more fun to try and guess who/what they are, when you know what you're drawing
As someone who hasn’t read Frankenstein but knows that its imagery is heavily twisted by modern culture I was so sure the last one was Frankenstein’s monster 😭😭😭
LOL Anyway, in case you're interested, the Creature is described as being 10 feet tall, with disheveled long black hair and with a yellowish but transparent mummy-like skin that lets you see his pearly white teeth and all of his muscles and blood vessels (so you can probably also see his eyes through his skin in full, despite it not being clearly pointed out by Shelley). Also, Frankenstein created him anew (which is why the Creature is huge, since Frankestein needed to scale up all the blood vessels, nerves, etc.) It's also heavily hinted that he was created using alchemy. No corpses were harmed in the creating of the Creature. lol (well... except when Frankenstein was studying them, I suppose...)
@@an0nym0us_slash35 Victor Frankenstein said that his monster was beautiful during its construction, yet at the same time during its reanimation the monster was capable of evoking terror upon first sight. So, I assumed he had an uncanny valley component to him. Or like constructed with pieces that individually, were handsome on their own-but jumbled together without any facial harmony would look hideous.
Was kinda hoping they would have had him do Tyrion from Song of Ice and Fire, since he is very different looking in the books compared to Game of Thrones, especially later on.
One of my favorite descriptions for a character has to be “basically man-shaped.” Granted, his most prominent features are blue skin and glowing red eyes (and blue-black hair) but seriously? “Basically man-shaped?” That’s fantastic.

I liked this, and I would like to see this repeated with books from classical literature- Dracula, Frankenstein, Heathcliff, Mr. Darcy, etc for the males/villains, and Lucille, Cosette, the Wicked Witch of the West, etc for the females/villainesses. Those are just examples. You could choose others.
@@wardulens7607 That's actually why I wrote Frankenstein and not Frankenstein's Monster. Dracula was the villain who was supposed to be very handsome. I've never Frankenstein's monster to be the villain in that story- the victim maybe but not the villain.

I was eating my breakfast while watching. So I literally choked twice: once seeing the photograph, once when the drawing was shown one more time. X-D I needed a good laugh. I guessed for Katniss when he chose, as he said, "fiery colours" for the cape. I was like "Ah! FIRE!"
Ok wow. When you drew the cape of the first character in colours, I guessed Katniss but wasn't sure. But damn, it was right! So your drawing of her only with hints was so good!
@@RyanYoxo Yeah would make it confusing cause the movie doesn’t make it as obvious. From memory the book emphasised more that all the kids in the hunger games are just that, kids.
I remember seeing Harry Potter 1 in the cinema and thinking the Snape casting was totally wrong. I thought Grima Wormtongue in LOTR looked far more like Snape as described in the book. I guess since it was a kids movie they toned it down.
Also I don’t think Grima’s actor had the right kind of menacing competence. Snape was extremely competent and brave, for all his faults. Grima was weak and slimy.

Alan Rickman is a great example of casting, and shows that accuracy to the books isn't equivalent to quality.
I just want to say it's nice every now and then to see you take a break from the crazy videos, and just sit down to draw some fantastic pictures :)

Your Snape seems to be saying "Potter has been crossing lines ever since he came to this school." What a sneer, it looks amazing!!
A fellow potter head, I see
Yessssss from book four the triwizard tournament aghhhh that’s my fave book in the series
the expression is on point tho the face is not even close. the nost is short and not hooked enough or long even, the hair have strands that do not "frame" the face really. the teeth arent yellowing as in the books. also the hair looks more shiny and sleek here than the greasy unkempt curtains like described in the books. This snape looks more like Filch that anything😂
😂😂😂 Facts!
Oh thanks! I used a dictionary, but your definition is actually better than the "beard" I had as a translation haha :)
Not only that but I remember reading stories about the little girl who suggested that Lincoln grow his "whiskers" out because they would fill his face in and make him more handsome. That was the word she used - "whiskers".
Whiskers can also be used to refer to hair on the chin and cheeks which could explain @Joshua Goodmans statement

The Witcher drawing is actually realllyyyy close to Geralt from the first Witcher game (which they drew exactly as written in the books). I had to pause the video to say it; this is amazing.
It is really close! I have read the books and this is definitely how he is described!
The Geralt in the latest game is way too fat and cuddly, He matches the book better in the first game, like a hungry wolf.
@@w415800 to be fair he was working for an army in the second game so he was able to get a steady supply of food
@@kaelhyun2401 Exactly. I think the depiction in the games is fair because they're essentially a sequel. Things happen. They started off with basically the book version and went from there.
Whoever gave him the features forgot to add "Viper eyes" to the description. If Jazza read that I'm pretty sure he would've nailed Geralt
The last one should have been the crew describing Jazza, and see how close that one was!
Katniss Everdeen is actually described as having dark olive skin and dark eyes in the books, so she is probably brown and not white. So I think your depiction of her is actually more accurate than the casting of the movie!
That was dark olive
Olive skin is usually used to describe people from southern europe, so even if they have a darker skin they are usually still white.
Olive skinned means dark white basically lol
I had forgotten that Katniss does end up wearing a lot super hero style outfits throughout the books. Your version is really spot on.

The other artwork isn’t official either, just another depiction
@Don't read profile photo deal
Leotard doesn’t have legs, a unitard does. A bodysuit is just a renamed unitard imo
Probably too sexy for Hollywood.

I thought Katniss too, but the leotard threw me off. Leotards don't cover your legs, and I couldn't really imagine Katniss going around like that.
Me too
I guessed katniss as soon as I saw leather boots and fire cape
11:46 is where I started to figure out that it was obviously Snape.
I just think they made Snape too clean looking in the films, he should have looked more dishevelled and unkempt.
@@Rose-hh7mk yeah, he's sort of depressed person, he lost all he loves and has to teach, and he clearly hates it. His mother died, his love betrayed him and died, one of his friends died, another is believed to die in azkaban (his friends were Regulus Black and Barty Crouch Jr)
Also note that JKR sees flying figures in black cloaks repeatedly in her nightmares when she's depressed, so Snape, thestrals and dementors and the death eaters are her literal depression.
As much as I liked Alan Rickman's portrayal, I always felt he was too nice looking to play Snape. While he could play a harsh, intimidating man with a mean streak a mile wide, his Snape never felt "slimy" or "creepy". Jazza's drawing actually looks creeptastic.

As someone who hasn’t read Frankenstein but knows that its imagery is heavily twisted by modern culture I was so sure the last one was Frankenstein’s monster 😭😭😭

Anyway, in case you're interested, the Creature is described as being 10 feet tall, with disheveled long black hair and with a yellowish but transparent mummy-like skin that lets you see his pearly white teeth and all of his muscles and blood vessels (so you can probably also see his eyes through his skin in full, despite it not being clearly pointed out by Shelley).

@@lastchancemonicam3948 idk I think both Frankenstein and his monster are both villains in their own way, so either would work for a challenge
I laughed so hard at the Lincoln reveal I started choking😂😂 I was so not expecting that😅 to be fair I was getting hapsburg vibes from it so I was kind of close in that it was a real person😅
Also, Katniss was obvious to me as soon as I saw “Braid” as a kid that always wore her hair in a braid her description definitely left a mark on my psyche.
I was eating my breakfast while watching. So I literally choked twice: once seeing the photograph, once when the drawing was shown one more time. X-D I needed a good laugh.
I guessed for Katniss when he chose, as he said, "fiery colours" for the cape. I was like "Ah! FIRE!"
Jazzaa, i love that character drawings are backkkkk. THANK YOUU THANK YOUU THANK YOUUUU
4:39 perfect mix of Legolas and Aragorn like we always needed ❤
I haven’t watched jazza in about 4 years but this brought me a lot of joy ☺️
Ok wow. When you drew the cape of the first character in colours, I guessed Katniss but wasn't sure. But damn, it was right! So your drawing of her only with hints was so good!
I’ve only seen the movie so the “16 year old girl” part through me off, cause in the movie she’s like 30
@@RyanYoxo Yeah would make it confusing cause the movie doesn’t make it as obvious. From memory the book emphasised more that all the kids in the hunger games are just that, kids.
@@charliev4156 huh, you're right now that I think about the movies - I don't think they ever brought up the fact the Reaping was for 12-18 year olds
@@hollystepp3735 It makes it all the more messed up that the people they’re making fight to the death are kids/teens
I LOVE THIS!! Please do more "blind book painting"!!
As soon as I saw the description of Snape my PotterHead instincts went like 'ITS SNAPE, SEVERUS SNAPEEEE'
you should make this a series. there are so many characters that i would love to see your interpretation of.
I remember seeing Harry Potter 1 in the cinema and thinking the Snape casting was totally wrong. I thought Grima Wormtongue in LOTR looked far more like Snape as described in the book. I guess since it was a kids movie they toned it down.
Conversely, Peter Jackson overdid so much in LotR. Alan Rickman would have made a much more convincing Grima as Tolkien wrote him.
if snape looked like grima, neville would have already had a heart attack lol
Also I don’t think Grima’s actor had the right kind of menacing competence. Snape was extremely competent and brave, for all his faults. Grima was weak and slimy.
Jk Rowling herself ultimately chose Alan Rickman, didn't she? So I think she thought he looked like Snape well enough
@@malloryknox6802 no cap tho, alan rickman is iconic
I came across this channel by accident some how, but I am so glad I did. The energy and enthusiasm was so infectious!
One of the traits of a good youtuber is being consistent with their videos and one of the traits of a good artist is turning out their each work into a masterpiece....
And if you ask me who does this both, then my answer will be Jazza.... 🤩
Hi
Ah yes, obnoxious but consistent
Greetings from Kochi machaane XD

“Tall and Gangly, Muscular”- as soon as I heard that, I thought “those don’t contradict each other, that’s my dad 🤣” and I was RIGHT- he’s built just like Abe Lincoln 🤣👏🏻🤦🏼♀️
My dad was like that in his younger years. He was a basketball player.
Gangly is about proportions. You can be muscular or not muscular and still be gangly, it just limits looking like thor a little bit.
I really liked your Snape, it's the first time I see a non-fan-art depicting this unique character as a younger, not-to-be-messed with man. Awesome job!
Bro has the best content ideas
Something I love about this video is that you were just enjoying drawing on this tablet. You got super excited with the features while drawing the green-eyed boy, so much so that you dropped your pen. People getting excited for their craft is always a blast to watch.
This literally came up in my recommended as I drew Percy Weasley as described in the book. It’s definitely interesting to see how certain characters are casted in a way that makes them feel like the character but not look exactly like them.
I think you should do more videos like this. It's so interesting to see other people's perspective on what a character would look like in their heads.
This is so gooood Jazza. I looooove it. First time I've been back to the channel in like 3 years and it's still as good and comfy.
I love you dude,
Good vibes to you and your family ❤️
I haven’t watched this man in years. Glad he’s still doing art :)
These character design sessions always fill me with an incredible amount of motivation and creativity.
I really wish jazza would do this challenge again but with other artists like drawfee or other youtubers
That sounds like an amazing
Idea! It would be so cool to get the different art styles and perspectives
For the record in the first book Snape's eyes are described as cold and black reminding one of dark hallways
I knew it was geralt immediately. Ive read the witcher series 3 times. I know that description anywhere and you did a really good job. Thats almost how i envision geralt, just a bit younger and less gruff than my imagination.
Jazza: "one of the brushes among the special effects brushes we're developing is a chain brush-"
Ibis paint X: am i a joke to you?
But in all seriousness this was a fun watch. It reminded me of the series by Lavendertowne but with a new spin on it
Ibis really does have some super useful brushes. They've saved me tons of time in the past and gotten me to try out different styles of coloring.
I also thoughg of the series of lavandertowne :)
Make this in a series on your channel, its so interesting seeing how you think and visualize the characters... more episodes pls!!
8:50
I think that that just is a perfect description of Severus snape
I can’t blame you for getting stuck in that medieval setting! I naturally default to the 1700s/ regency era 😂
Also this is so! Fun! I do this with my favorite books all the time and it’s such a joy seeing others interpret these main characters
I for sure want to see more of this in the future!!! This is a really fun idea
if you havent seen, lavendertowne has some!
however theyre not set up like this so
Man i wish jazza would update his figure drawing tutorials
In the second one I straight away screamed GERALT FROM THE WITCHER as soon as they mentioned the white hair and scar, bc I remember my 28 year old bro dressing up as him, yellow contact lenses, cape, daggers, white hair, and armour 😭😭
I would watch a whole series of this, having so much fun trying to guess while seeing some great art
Check out lavendertowne then. He took the idea from her and failed to credit her :( she's been making videos like this with the exact same thumbnail style forever
@@flower-tz1nj I think even more disappointing seeing he usually is pretty good about crediting other people
Would love to see this with a full paragraph taken at random from a page in a book describing a character rather than bullet points describing. However really enjoyed the artwork 😁🥰
That's what i thought it would be
@@musict4379 me too, actual full description from the book, tricky to put in a video I know but could have had page number and paragraph pop up rather than read it all out every single time I guess. Then just talk through which bit creating. Amazed got anywhere close with the bullet points; good for a part 1 though 🥰🤞🏻
