Heyy jazza sorry for the trouble but I ordered your sketch pack and haven’t received my package yet (I ordered it on February),it was stuck on Belgium twice now (they had to resend it) and the people and crafters companion stopped answering my emails and now I’m panicking please I need help.
I remember that time I won’t go jazza. Ps. Idea for video, me and my sisters sometimes draw comics but we take turns drawing the panels so we don’t know what will come of the story until it’s over. You don’t have to take this idea btw just a suggestion

You should do a video like this, but it's only their descriptions... so basically you get a description of a Villan and princess and mix it and then have to guess who they were

Scar is such an aesthetic villain--his design is really strong. He's kind of beautiful in a terrible/beautiful way. Also, Mulan is one of the 'fierce' princesses--you can totally believe in her as a warrior. So it really works.

For context, Jazza, Ratigan was basically the equivalent of Moriarty in 'The Great Mouse Detective'. Gosh, I was OBSESSED with that movie as a child. When I fell in love with the character of Sherlock Holmes, it was like my love for Basil had been foreshadowing.

Great Mouse Detective is a fantastic Disney movie. One of the best. Vincent Price was amazing as Ratigan.
The fact Ratigan even came up was awesome. I haven't seen The Great Mouse Detective since I was a tiny human. Such an underrated movie. The mix of him with Moana worked out so well.

I wanna say that there’s an actual fandom or fanfic of Mulan and Shan Yu and the fact that Jazza hit really close with the story line and art is what most of that fandom imagined 😭🤣
In response the the last video about feeling like less of an artist, this makes me remember the old times from the channel. I miss when you did simple character art, even if it is silly like this. Keep close to your roots, Jazza, but don't forget to live your pure self.
Yes, I always liked the character design vids best, too - I really learned a lot from them and he said once himself thst he likes character design best.
Elsa worked really well with the kinda punk kid vibe but I think Mulan takes the cake here! So good!
Ratigan has THE BEST Disney villain song, and it's so sad how much it gets slept on. First of all, he's voiced by Vincent Price, who is having a ball with it. Secondly, the song talks about him drowning widows and orphans. Thirdly, if for some reason you thought that maybe they were just exaggerating his evilness, he takes a break in the middle of the song to have one of his henchmouse _eaten alive_ to keep the rest of his goons in line and then _forces_ them to continue with the super chipper and upbeat part of the song. The Great Mouse Detective is so good and I just really wish more people would watch it, it's amazing, deserves to be just as much of a cult favorite as Atlantis or Treasure Planet.
I was terrified by Ratigan, as a child. He really is brutal... I don't know if there is any other THAT brutal villain in the Disney universe, who kills someone on screen during his song, in front of the audience inside and outside the movie. Judge Claude Frolo from the "Hunchback of Notre Dame", maybe... he gives the order to kill the gypsies at the beginning of the movie... but you don't actually see them die while he sings...
Mulan looks stunning. That has got to be the coolest alternate version of her I've ever seen, making her appear more powerful in all the right ways.

@@orchdork775 definitely worth a watch. The animation is good, with an early example of 3D backgrounds during the final confrontation. The voice work is excellent, Vincent Price as Ratigan goes full ham and the rest of the cast gave great emotive performances. One of my favorites as a kid and I watched it again recently and enjoyed it still.
@@orchdork775 Yesyesyes!! It's one of my favorite Disney cartoons by far! The storyline, the character development, and the music is all excellent. Had a great mix of humor and some intense scenes. Ratigan was an incredible villain too.
I really like how you didn't just "dress them up" as the villains, but took a close look at their world/universe/story and how they _could_ have ended up as a villain.
My favourite is probably Mulan (although I friggin' love each of them) I love the aesthetic and the idea of how she was forced to be someone who she wasn't - so maybe that fucked with her head, or she was looking for a way to escape her old life in which she was forced to marry and stuff... I think she looks like a total basass 🖤

We need part 2 and part 3 of this, Mulan turned out very cool and Id love to see more.

What a cool idea for a design challenge! I love that so many RUclips artists are experimenting with evil Disney princess possibilities.
The Elsa/Sid combo sorta harked back to the original Snow Queen origins of Frozen. I'd love to see her in motion somehow.
And the Mulan image somehow had a lot of pathos - it suggests that she has a really dark backstory.
I'd love to see another attempt at this challenge, and maybe using traditional art materials as well as digital creations.
Mulan looks the most like Mulan but still villainized in a way that matches scar and fits into the style for the movie. It’s phenomenal!

I really like these kind of videos along with the "made from description" it makes me feel a part of the making of these masterpieces due to me also picturing in my head what the end result will be, or me guessing along when even jazza doesnt know the thing he is doing😂

As a super fan of Disney's highly underrated classic, The Great Mouse Detective, and it's equally slept on and underrated Disney villain, Professor Ratigan. I am so happy that they both are getting more recognition... slowly! 💖

I loved this idea! Definitely revisit it again. Moana mash up was perfection! I also loved the Elsa. Mulan one I think wasn't quite there but still great art. But the first one, I want to know more about that character! She was so cool looking.
Edit: Interesting! Reading through comments most I see most people love the Mulan Mash up! I liked it a lot, but the Moana one was my strong favorite.
Jazza, if you haven't seen The Great Mouse Detective, you should. It's actually quite dark for a Disney kids' movie, from what I remember. Ratigan is like this horrible gangster, and even the hero -- the titular Basil -- is kind of arrogant and misanthropic. It's a shame that it is sort of underrated as a Disney film. The beginning of the movie is kind of traumatic and is burned into my memory forever.

Jazza to be fair one of the songs Ratigan has in the movie * Worlds greatest Criminal mind * one of the lyrics is "Worse than the widows and orphans you drowned!" so still kinda fit.
This was incredible. I think it would've also been cool to paint the fur on Mulan's coat the same shade as Scar's mane- almost like she'd be wearing a coat made of his skin!

For Mulan's transformation. I'd say that Mulan didn't survive the wound Shan Yu gave her, and the others buried her on the mountain, taking her father's sword with them to give it back to him in honor of their fallen comrade. Shan Yu survives the avalanche and finds Mulan's grave. In the few surviving Huns, there is a sorcerer who is ordered by Shan Yu to revive his army and Mulan. Once revived, Mulan is fed some lies about how her companions had abandoned her to die and left with her father's sword the second they found out about her being a woman.
Hurt, betrayed and confused as she doesn't remember the last few moments before her death, Mulan believes Shan Yu and accepts to fight alongside him to get her revenge on her old friends. Mushu tries to tell the truth to Mulan but is caught by Shan Yu's falcon and brought to the man in question. Realizing that the dragon knows the truth and is the guardian of Mulan's family, Shan Yu has his sorcerer bind Mushu's mind to have the dragon loyal to him, just as he is to Mulan. Thus, the two who conspired to his army's defeat are now his pawns.
In the next few months, the zombie Hun army slowly and surely takes over China. Mulan's old village is raised to the ground, and her grandmother and parents died at Shan Yu's hand, while Mulan is sent on another mission. Shan Yu didn't want her family to pierce through his manipulations and get the powerful girl to turn against him. He then lies about it, saying that it was Shang and his army that did so as retaliation for fooling them about her gender. Mulan now burns with rage and slowly loses her last remain on mercy and care for her countrymen.
Shan Yu decides to have Mulan become his empress. Her skills, ruthlessness, and her lack of fear in talking back to him impress him and excite him. Mulan is apprehensive. The last man she truly cared for had betrayed her and left her for dead. So Shan Yu, who wants no other to bear his children and future heirs, starts courting her. It takes him some time, but it only makes it sweeter when Mulan finally accepts to marry him.
Crickee, in the meantime, had been discussing with various other Guardians of Chinese families to find Shang and hopes to free his friends.
Crickee finds Shang, his Family Guardian, and his men near the Yellow River and proceeds to tell him everything. Shang is heartbroken and horrified that his old friend had been used and lied into destroying her country. Immediately, the men demand to make an assault on the imperial city to stop Shan Yu and let Mulan's spirit free to move on. Shang agrees and makes a promise to Fa Zu to save his daughter.
At the Imperial Palace, the sorcerer warns Shan Yu to be careful with Mulan. His spell was not meant to keep a soul sealed into their body for such a long period of time. The longer Mulan stayed in the realm of the living, the harder she becomes to control and the more power and independence she gains. Especially with her new tendency of eating the soul of her enemies, it grants her strength. Soon she will become stronger than the sorcerer and even Shan Yu. The Hun leader doesn't like this and orders the sorcerer to only serve Mulan weak-willed and old people and to ensure that once it was confirmed that she was pregnant, to be put into a deep sleep. Once the child would be born, Mulan was to be disposed of. Mulan overhears everything with Mushu, and the loyalty binds break at the betrayal.
With a bit of investigating, Mulan realizes that Shan Yu lied to her from the beginning and that she is already pregnant with Shan Yu's child. She must act quickly and decisively.
Shang and his men gather more and more soldiers and volunteers to fight against the Huns. Within three weeks, they gathered enough men, weapons, and a plan to attack Imperial City. However, as they breach the doors of the city, they find nothing but dead Huns and blood everywhere. Scorch marks on every wall and floor, and charred remains of servants and soldiers littered the halls. The suffocating stench of death and burning choke the men as they move forward into the city and witness a macabre and nightmarish massacre of innocent and not-so-innocent people. The silence that rings through the city is the most haunting to Shang.
Finally, Shang makes it to the throne room, hoping to find Shan Yu and end this war once and for all. Instead, he finds the charred and empty remains of the Hun leader and his sorcerer. Mulan sits on the emperor's throne with her visibly pregnant belly and scrolls of magic at her feet.
Upon seeing each other, the two old friends are momentarily shocked silent, before Mulan gets up, summons the scrolls to her, and looks sadly at Shang.
"If only I had survived that wound on the mountain... None of this would have happened... For what it's worth, I am truly sorry for my actions. Goodbye, old friend."
And Mulan leaves in a flash of flames for parts unknown. Shang stays behind and lets his tears flow down his cheeks for the first time since his childhood, and properly mourns his friend's death. The army begins to clean out the city, repair the damage done, and pull China back from the brink of destruction, all the while speaking in whispers and hushed tones about the Sorceress of Tung Xiao Pass.
In the mountain where she once died, Mulan raises her daughter to become a fierce warrior and sorceress. Mushu promises to keep watch over little Lan, his little orchid, once Mulan's life force is gone. His own being sustains through his link with Lan's. Mulan tells him she has no intention of leaving anytime soon. After all, with her new powers, stealing souls from her enemies isn't much trouble... Mushu agrees and asks where she would get her meals. Mulan responds that she had always wanted to visit Japan...
Cue end credits
I like the moko (facial tattoo) you gave to Ratiganised Moana! Nice incorporation of Māori design. And the upturned horns on the side of the moko represent that she is a leader in her tribe - impressive authentic detail!

The Mulan one looks like she killed Scar and took his felt as a trophy but ironically leaving with a scar that resembles his but represents his biggest shame.
When you say Ratigan is "so Extra", you describe his voice actor Vincent Price. Price had a BALL for this role and they used his excitement and facial expressions in animating Ratigan. It was his last major role before his death.

If you adjust for inflation, Snow White and the seven dwarfs is by far the highest grossing animated movie and therefore also princess. She is followed by Aurora and then Cinderella. Elsa is probably the most marketed character and that’s why she and Anna doesn’t even make it into the Disney princess lineup because they just have they sell just as much without needing to be boosted by the other princesses.
Because, yes, the Disney princess franchise was created solely for the purpose of marketing the characters together to sell more merchandise.

I wasn’t sure you could pull these off, but they turned out fantastic! 🤩 The only one I thought sounded easy was the Mulan/Scar mash up. Mulan is pretty bad ass, so mashing her with a villain seemed a bit more seamless, I suppose? The other two seem a bit too girly and happy to mix with villains, but you nailed it!

Ratigan is one of my fave disney villains. Movie scared me as a kid with the whole dark asthetic and when Ratigan reverted back to a crazed rat in the last battle but I still love it to this day.
