Yea but it is logical. He should be about the same age as Lily, who must get married to James quite young considering they met at Hogwarts. That would make her thirty something by the time her kid Harry turns 11.

Hate JKR for Umbridge. Such a one dimensional character! Even Voldy had more explanation. JKR stops one step short of saying that Umbridge was born evil. That isn't even mentioning the Centaur thing.
I think it kinda suits the character to look older than he is, because he has gone through so much pain and stress, it is quite fitting that he looks a bit worn out. No matter, I´ve always found Alan Rickman very handsome, in spite of his age!
HARRY, *Shoves teachers aside, DID YOU, *Runs across room in fury, PUT YOUR NAME, *Slams harry into wall, INTO THE GOBLET OF FIRE?" Dumbledore asked calmly.
Absolutely. Maggie Smith brought the only true credibility and stage presence to the role of McGonagall that could ever be had. Same for Alan Rickman and Snape. No one else could have been Snape and made us believe it like we did.
5% of comments - Why Daniel Redcliffe didn't wear contacts. 5% of comments - Other characters with bad portrayals in the movies. 90% of comments - WE HATE UMBRIDGE MORE THAN VOLDEMORT!!!!!
Rather than changing Daniel's eyes, which could have been uncomfortable for the whole duration of eight films, they could have changed his "mother's" eyes. That way they wouldn't have been green but at least "You have your mother's eyes" would have made sense.
R.I.P Alan Rickman. You were always one of my favorites in the Harry Potter Series. There was never a time where no tear was shed when I heard of the tragic death. I will never forget what an amazing portrail you did on Snape. You were absolutely amazing and you still are, and, even though you are not here in body, you will be here in our hearts, for us true Harry Potter fans. We raise our wands high as a tribute to our fallen fans.
He wasn't allergic. He simply didn't want to wear them because they irritated his eyes. Surprisingly, he got his way because his parents are fairly influential directors/screenwriters. Same reason he was cast, even though his acting was subpar at best.
ACTUALLY, RON WASN'T PROTRAYED CORRECTLY Book Ron is kind, loyal, and, while he loves good food as much as the next wizard, had decent manners. Movie Ron was arrogant, chewed with his mouth open, and failed to stand up for his friends at times. For example, in Prisoner of Azkaban, we all know the one horrible day Snape took over for Lupin while he was 'sick'. When Hermione answered an asked question, Snape tool points from Gryffindor and yelled at her until she almost cried. In the books Ron stands up for her by saying "Why ask the question if you didn't want an anwer?" Movie Ron just shrugs it off, saying, "He's right, you know." Movie Ron is everything that Book Ron would have feared to be.
which character was portrayed correctly, mind you. maybe Hagrid and McGonagall. Harry was a roaring yelling jumpy teenager in the books who smashed Dumbledore's office in OotP, in the movies? I cringed when Fred and George said to not hold himself back ...
I'd agree. I got the feeling Snape had been that beaten down he'd aged far beyond his time. And speaking from the experience of being abused, occumency is possible but it drains you dry until you break into about a hundred pieces. I knew Snape wasn't going to survive passed the last book after I read the pensive scene in Order of the Phoenix, he didn't have anyone left to make him want to live.
Did anyone notice that when Richard Harris played Dumbledore, he had multiple costumes, but when Michael Gambon played him, he was always in the same drab silver-gray outfit?
TBH, Gambon's grey drab outfit was how I pictured him when reading the books. Even the Half Blood Prince cover art as the similar costume. The Harris outfit looks to bulky.
JK Rowling personally chose Maggie Smith for McGonagall. Before the books were even considered for movies, she said she imagined Maggie Smith as McGonagall. If there are two characters in those movies who were BORN for their part, it was Maggie Smith and Julie Walters (Mrs Weasley).
Nah, I think Severus Snape done by Alan Rickman was the best choice they could ever do. Him being a bit more aged up also appealed to his strict personality
@@missmeg1091 As of 2017, the UK male life expectancy was 79.4. However, life expediencies are usually from birth, and when Snape was born in 1960 it was around 68. But those are all Muggle stats anyways. J.K. Rowling has stated that wizards have a much longer life expectancy than Muggles. Dumbledore was 150, yet didn't seem to be suffering much in terms of age-related health conditions. Also, Dana said "fairly young adult", not "young adult". 30 compared to Alan Rickman's actual age of around 55 when the first movie came out is most definitely "fairly young".
M G They did CGI in Harry Potter. Some fans that have access to good enough tech have even made clips changing character's eye colors. It is not hard to do. It's a little tedious and takes a little time if It's a major character always on screen. But it can be done nonetheless, especially when they got a bigger budget after the first film.
Madison Hagan I know but at least with the first movie it would have been harder because of technology and budget also if when they had better technology and a bigger budget if they changed his eyes to green that would have been weird
M G It wouldn't have been weird if they edited the eyes green in the dvd release of the film. That way at least the dvds were consistent. Children wouldn't really have noticed, anyway.
Actually, the publishing company asked her if she wanted to change her pen name to J K Rowling instead of Joanne Rowling. They actually thought little boys wouldn't be interested in reading a book written by a woman, and this book needed to have a chance.
Actualy yes because Voldemort killed many wizards and witches but Dolores Umbridge was punishing the students with most horrible ways that someone can imagine.
I work at a bookstore and dress as Umbridge for Harry Potter events. Younger kids are frequently frightened of me, so yeah, I think she's much worse than Voldemort.
@@arundhuti1444 Rita Skeeter becomes likable in the books later on. She helps Harry by interviewing him about how Voldemort returned during the 5th book when the Ministry of Magic was trying to cover up the whole thing
True, he forgot that. Voldemorts actor, Ralph Fiennes, was partly responsible for that. He considered the red eyes to be too cartoony, so he asked the directors if they could leave that detail out. I think it works well for the movie, Voldemort was still really scary.

Hate JKR for Umbridge. Such a one dimensional character! Even Voldy had more explanation.
JKR stops one step short of saying that Umbridge was born evil. That isn't even mentioning the Centaur thing.
Lol sad
It’s so cute to see the characters after watching almost all the movies, Ron is my favourite.
Umbridge is THE most hated character. No one surpassesses her
ID: Person-6370269 same
Bellatrix
Vrizi Bellatrix is my favorite character, Umbridge sucks
R U DA DOCTOR!?!?!?!?!
Agreed :3
Personally for me movie actors were extremely suiting Harry Potter series.
Arthur K apart from Ginny tho
@@lucysmith7326 Yeah her personality is completely thrown out of the window in the movies.
In the movies she ties Harry's shoes! TIEING SHOES?! SERIOUSLY! sorry I tend to rant about how Ginny was so wrongly portrayed in the movies.
Alan Rickman was the perfect actor for the role of Severus Snape no matter the age 💚💔
ChrysaVch Yeah. Rest In Peace, Alan Rickman. He will be in our hearts. Always.
Yeah I totally agree. Alan nailed it 😍😍😄😄
I think it kinda suits the character to look older than he is, because he has gone through so much pain and stress, it is quite fitting that he looks a bit worn out. No matter, I´ve always found Alan Rickman very handsome, in spite of his age!
SC Newztown Exactly 🖤
who else agrees that adam driver would play a perfect snape
Daniel radcliff was gonna have green contacts but he had an allergic reaction to them
HARRY, *Shoves teachers aside, DID YOU, *Runs across room in fury, PUT YOUR NAME, *Slams harry into wall, INTO THE GOBLET OF FIRE?" Dumbledore asked calmly.
Lol
lol
@Chara Dumbledore said *_calmly_*
Not to criticize or anything but Maggie Smith was JK Rowlings first and "only" choice for Minerva.
yeah you are soooooooo right.
And so was Alan Rickman for Snape, but this is description in book vs actor.
wats your name
Absolutely. Maggie Smith brought the only true credibility and stage presence to the role of McGonagall that could ever be had. Same for Alan Rickman and Snape. No one else could have been Snape and made us believe it like we did.
She simply WAS McGonagall. I can’t imagine anyone else ever playing her.
okay but seriously they could’ve just given dumbledore some glasses...
Not even fake ones, with the lenses popped off, either.
mouldy egg For McGonagall, too! She's supposed to be wearing large, square glasses, which also show up when she's transfigured into a cat.
He had some just not all the time
Yeah they coulda just gave him the glasses, it wouldn’t be too hard like they could just pop out the lenses
yeah and the dark red rob for Albus. I'm sure it was never blue in the books.
8:30 I think it makes more sense for Minerva to appear how she did in the movies, she's way older than Snape.
Unbridge- "most hated person after lord Voldemort" no no no, she IS the most hated character
at least when Tom riddle was young he was fine!!
i wish i could like your comment more than 1 time lol so so truth
I agree
Agreed.
5% of comments - Why Daniel Redcliffe didn't wear contacts.
5% of comments - Other characters with bad portrayals in the movies.
90% of comments - WE HATE UMBRIDGE MORE THAN VOLDEMORT!!!!!
Pretty accurate.
Seems legit.
Daniel tried to wear contacts and I️t affected his eyes
Rather than changing Daniel's eyes, which could have been uncomfortable for the whole duration of eight films, they could have changed his "mother's" eyes. That way they wouldn't have been green but at least "You have your mother's eyes" would have made sense.
The Anime Fanbase q
R.I.P Alan Rickman. You were always one of my favorites in the Harry Potter Series. There was never a time where no tear was shed when I heard of the tragic death. I will never forget what an amazing portrail you did on Snape. You were absolutely amazing and you still are, and, even though you are not here in body, you will be here in our hearts, for us true Harry Potter fans. We raise our wands high as a tribute to our fallen fans.
jamie cardinal TIL dead people read the comments section
Alan rickman as severus snape is totally perfect
*MY BOOK SHOWED ME LUPIN WHO HAS NO MOUSTACHE*
*AND MY BOOK SAID THAT VOLDEMORT HAS RED EYES*
They do in the books. Voldy is more different than any of these characters
same
Yes cat like slit eyes
Also, the books describes dudley as having blonde hair as well as aunt petunia
and bill has a dragon tooth earring and dumbledore wears eye-watering colors.
Umbridge isn't the most hated character after Voldemort, we hated her more than Voldemort
I know right? Voldemort is badass and scary, though, Umbridge is just a straight up hag, who I constantly flipped off during both the book and movie.
Paradiesisch no one hates voldy
Paradiesisch Well Said
You can't tell me that ANYONE in this world hates Voldemort! He is the best character throughout the whole series.
Paradiesisch IKR
In the books, Mad-Eye Moody didn't have a strap around his eye, it was just fixed on his face.
The strap made him look more real though.
Forgot about Bill’s earring! But otherwise, this was perfect 😁
Bill’s earring would’ve looked so cool 😭
The reason radcliffe's eyes are blue in the film is because they tried contacts but he was allergic
Marian Kenny yeah and I’m pretty sure that if they used CGI it would just look weird
Not to mention take up a lot of time and money to go through that much effort.
Marian Kenny they could've CGI his eyes.
He wasn't allergic. He simply didn't want to wear them because they irritated his eyes. Surprisingly, he got his way because his parents are fairly influential directors/screenwriters. Same reason he was cast, even though his acting was subpar at best.
It's the effort that counts
ACTUALLY, RON WASN'T PROTRAYED CORRECTLY
Book Ron is kind, loyal, and, while he loves good food as much as the next wizard, had decent manners.
In the books Ron stands up for her by saying "Why ask the question if you didn't want an anwer?"
Movie Ron just shrugs it off, saying, "He's right, you know."
Movie Ron is everything that Book Ron would have feared to be.
which character was portrayed correctly, mind you. maybe Hagrid and McGonagall. Harry was a roaring yelling jumpy teenager in the books who smashed Dumbledore's office in OotP, in the movies? I cringed when Fred and George said to not hold himself back ...
wake up kiddo
Exactly, thank you
Wake up kiddo says it PERFECTLY Ron technically wasn't all that kind in the books, and again, j.k. herself said they were good
Also, the book Ron is tall and skinny but Rupert Grint is kinda buff or something in the films.
J.K Rowling let them do what they want to do to make the movie.(she even said she was okay with it)
I think Alan Rickman was perfect as he looked old as if he had been through a lot, at least that's how I was able to view it
NatsBones Too bad he's dead now...R.I.P. Alan Rickman
when he played snape i freaking had a crush on him! thanks to fanfiction im very satisfied expect when he die!😭
Thank you! I was just coming in to say this.
I miss Alan so much.
NatsBones I agree, he was the best!
Severys Snape in the movie: Alan Rickman
Severus Snape in the book: Alan Rickman
Did anyone notice that when Richard Harris played Dumbledore, he had multiple costumes, but when Michael Gambon played him, he was always in the same drab silver-gray outfit?
Same happened with all the characters.
Or had a calm personality
TBH, Gambon's grey drab outfit was how I pictured him when reading the books. Even the Half Blood Prince cover art as the similar costume. The Harris outfit looks to bulky.
I'd liked Richard Harris more. Calm personality.
Yes!!
You are 100% correct! Those parts were them, just like Alan Rickman was Snape. These are the people who were born to play these parts.
When I hear Julie, I think of Rita from "Educating Rita". Same actress, she.
cromusic ibra and Emma Watson
True. I think she chose Hagrid’s actor as well.
I once heard, the first choice for Snape was Tim Roth. Though I love Alan Rickman , Roth would have been an interestin choice.
I think Dolores is more hated than Voldemort
Beatriz F She IS more hated than Voldemort.
Nah, I think Severus Snape done by Alan Rickman was the best choice they could ever do. Him being a bit more aged up also appealed to his strict personality
I never thought of that. If Snape was a classmate of Harry's father, he would have been a fairly young adult.
But he was his classmate?
MissMeg well he said fairly, close enough
@@cbookins over 30 means simply adult.
@@missmeg1091 an average lifespan is about 80, halfway would be 40. Someone in their 30s is still fairly young and isn't considered to be middle aged.
Books: Harry and Lilly have green eyes
Movies: Harry has blue and young Lilly has brown and old Lilly has blue
Casting: 🤫
ol
cant tell that i cared the eyecolors
LOLLLL
Snape's life is a lie.
Daniel reacted alergic to contactlenses, thats why there blue. but Lilie... yeah. dont know what they thought
Daniel Radcliffe wore green eye contacts but his eyes reacted badly. This is why Harry has blue eyes in the movies.
Isobel Shiffler CGI could have fixed this though.
Madison Hagan it would have been harder back than because the first movie was filmed in 199?-200? and came out in I think 2002
When I first watched the Harry Potter films, I thought JK Rowling was a boy, but it wasn't🤦
Actually, the publishing company asked her if she wanted to change her pen name to J K Rowling instead of Joanne Rowling. They actually thought little boys wouldn't be interested in reading a book written by a woman, and this book needed to have a chance.
Me too
Me 2
Draco malfoy: hah pottah I flawlessly potrayed myself in the movies. You couldnt even do that!😂
Lol sounds exactly like something he might say.
Yep.
But you should be say POTTER not POTTAH. But yes Malfoy talks like that.
Lol😂
Whatever he does, his father will know about this
lol
BRIGHT SIDE: Dolores Umbridge is probably the most hated character after lord Voldemort
Me and the rest of the fandom: AFTER?!?!?!?!?!?!
Actualy yes because Voldemort killed many wizards and witches but Dolores Umbridge was punishing the students with most horrible ways that someone can imagine.
I think Umbridge is horrible. I think she should have died. She and Rita Skeeter, together should have actually.
Linsy Thomas Right?! I hated her so much! More than Voldy!!! Aghhhhhh
*Sorry, but I don't hate Umbridge right after Voldemort, I hate her more than Voldemort*
sameeeeeeeeee
Me too
Ya at least with Voldemort we don't have to constantly deal with looking at and hearing her
Plus there's a reason why Voldemort is the way he is, Umbridge has no excuse.
She's a horrible little fool
I just want to point out that Alan Rickman was J.K. Rowling's first choice for Severus.
Even though she knew that Alan was older than Severus.
Umm, you forgot Voldemort?
Like one of the main characters in the movie?! In the book he has red eyes but in the movie he doesnt.
True, he forgot that. Voldemorts actor, Ralph Fiennes, was partly responsible for that. He considered the red eyes to be too cartoony, so he asked the directors if they could leave that detail out. I think it works well for the movie, Voldemort was still really scary.
Yeah, it adds a much more human layer of fear. Voldemort is supposed to be the ultimate evil in person after all.
idil ipekoglu |~| yeah! I can understand Harry cuz his eyes reacted to the contacts but that doesn't explain Voldy!
I was thinking exactly that
Dumbledore in the goblet of fire ...
Book: harry did you put your name in the goblet of fire “ he said ‘ calmly
Movie: HARRY DID YOU PUT YOUR NAME IN THE GOBLET OF FIRE!!!!!! ‘ angry’
HarryPotter and tmnt 123 . I know right, I was really surprised the first time I watched the movie!
it was more like HARRAH DID YAH PUT YAH NAME IN DA GOBLET OF FIYAH !!!!
HarryPotter and tmnt 123 I think that moment will go down in film history as one of the 'unforgettable' moments, especially among the fanbase :)
My thougt was "this is probably the worst portraial of a characher in history..." and for Gambon to say "he was honering Richard Harris memory" was just dicusting....
HarryPotter and tmnt 123 it was more like: HARRYDIDJAPUTAYANAMEINDAGOBLETOFFYAH???!?!?!?! DIDJA??!?! DIDJA??!?!?
Book: harry did you put your name in the goblet of fire Dumbledore said calmly.
Movie: HARRY DID YOU PUT YOUR NAME IN THE GOBLET OF FIRE

I know right? I'm like Dumbledore, TONE IT DOWN A NOTCH!!
I KNOW!!
Right
"Dumbledore asked calmly"
"HARRY, DID YOU PUT YOUR NAME IN THE GOBLET OF FIRE?!"
*"Dumbledore asked calmly."*
“HARRY DID YAH PUT YAH NAME IN THE GOBLET OF FIYAH?!”
The way the movie portrayed it as not calm better suited the situation in my opinion. Much better moment in the movie than in the book.
Satan
Ikr
Satan Dumbledore is a kind and reasonable man, and I find it hard to believe he would yell at Harry.

I agree 100%
After all this time? Always
Also, wizards can get an older age than muggles. 138 is the average lifespan, so given that, they should be young looking even longer.
Sorry but thats Bs, not your opinion but the info. She's about 70 in the book, she's only "young" if you base your video on what other YouYubers have said...

HARRY! DID YOU PUT YO NAME IN DA GOBLET OF FIYAH?!?
Dumbledore said calmly.
Yeah, Dumbledore said very *CALMLY*
That scene in the movie drives me nuts because its uncharacteristic of Dumbledore.
The movie version is actually "HARRYDIDJAPUTYANAMINTHEGOBLETAFIYA!!!!", but the book is, "Harry, did you pr did you not put you name in the Goblet of Fire?" (Soflty and carefully)
Walfox lol
Kevin W. Clark yes it is but it fits the tone of the scene the way it was shot tho..it feels right to me that he'd be upset..not calm
Dolores Umbridge is the most hated character because people actually like Voldemort sometimes nobody likes Umbridge
Narcissa's hair is two-toned because they wanted to show how part of her is from the Black family and part of her is from the Malfoy family.
Still,I was so disappointed.I haven't read *all* the books and I often read them after watching the movies,so for the most part I don't mind the characters' changes, but Narcissa *should* have been a beautiful blonde blue eyed woman, not a discount Cruella DeVil!X-((

Snape had a pointed beard in the books, you could have just shown a beginning-of-chapter illustration, there's one of him in there.
