Honored Pete to have you riff / thrash on my heavy fella, the II II II II. To those watching, I would say one thing: demo the free trial in your setup and room... one play-through is all it takes. It's got the stuff and will not let you down. 😎👍
I'd love to try your plug-in. Sadly I'm a boomer without a setup that could run it. 🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂 I have a great laptop but not the monitors and other stuff needed. Maybe someday soon. 🤔
Otto II II II II amp sim is literally the one! Fully loving these switcharoos, totally mind bending hearing the Master of Puppets riff like that. What was your favourite riff / most weird to play in the video?
The perfect amp for this video. I've been using the || || || || since it launched and it's my go to for heavy, drop A-tuned guitars. The tones really fit in the mixes here Pete. Just a shame you couldn't get a guest vocalist in to do some Dave Disdain over the Metallica riffs! 😁
II II is simply GROWTAL!! My favourite modes are The Otto, 1991 and supercollider coupled with cabs 1, 7 and 13. I use it with the gain lowered and the WIIDTH activated, always honest and beastly.
Great swap video 🤘 amazing tone! II II II never disappoints, it’s truly the only amp sim I use for my band and solo project, please share this preset 🤘
Excellent what-if video and I loved the results you achieved with each variation. The II II II II can deliver a ton of tone options with all of its options, that's for sure. Hearing the songs from different eras and how consistent the II II II II sounded was kick ass to say the least.
Hey, Pete! The "Sad But True" riff is just different enough from the original that you could make an original song with it. Seriously. It's a good riff that kinda feels wasted here. Yeah, I know it was written to show how Megadeth might have written the song, but still, it's an awesome riff in its own right!
I think this is a good example that justifies Dave remaining in Metallica. If Dave and Cliff were around together long enough I can't fathom how many great songs would have been made.
Jeez, the Master Of Puppets in Megadeth style sounds like a legit song from Rust in Peace album. And the Bells are really like something from Peace sells album
Finally, some good sponsored content! Love the Otto Audio stuff, probably the gnarliest shit in the game. Btw y’all, I highly recommend you get that 50% code if you haven’t checked it out yet. I usually take advantage of free trials but I bought II II II II without even trying it based on word of mouth lol. No regrets
To answer that question, all you needed to do was listen to "The Mechanix" from Megadeth's first album then listen to "The Four Horsemen" from Metallica's first album.
One 'freebie' so to sat would be The Four Horsemen, originally written by mustaine during his metallica day and he redid the entire song to 1-up them after he got kicked out, that is one song that lets you see the switcheroo on their albums... can't for the life of me recall what tge megadeth version was named though
This is a cool idea, some others I think would work on the same premise are Carcass/Arch Enemy, Soulfly/Sepultura and Strapping Young Lad/Devin Townsend Project...I'm sure there are more though haha
Honestly I've thought for a While now that Metallica and Megadeth should have done 1 collaboration Album Imagine *Dave and James (vocals and rhythm) *Marty Friedman (lead) *Lars (Drums) because Nick Menza is Gone R.I.P * Jason Newstead or Ellifson take your pick ( 1st choice Cliff R.I.P. ) IN A PERFECT WORLD
Massive fan of all things Megadeth i mean i checked the other day and i have nearly 250 of their songs on one of my playlists but i have to say as far as riffs go i would put both versions of peace sells side by side in S tier because the original slaps but that load era version has a real evil dread type sound of witch i fucking love. Fucking banger of a video Pete awesome job on those alternate reality riffs.
For whom the bells toll sounded killer , specially the opening with the bass ,enter sandman sounded kind of weird to me In my opinion , the other ones sounded good too
As a mainly Metallica listener who rarely listens to Megadeth, I completely forgot that Hangar 18 was the same chords from Ktulu. It's funny too because, right before that section came up, I was thinking: "it would be pretty funny if he did Mechanix, and then just played Horsemen normally.
Awesome job as usual, but maybe as you are a young man you chose some songs as Call of Ktulu which were written by Dave Mustaine as well. This is the reason why they use the exact same chord progression of the hangar 18 riff...
Thanks to Otto Audio for sponsoring this video. Use code PETE50 to get 50% off The Eleven Eleven plugin here: bit.ly/3IQV0KV
Honored to have you riff on the heavy fella Pete 😎🤜🤛
Great playing bro! Metalladeth!
Primary albums of both bands are almost identical cos Dave mustaine wrote most of kill em all
Probably the most natural riff swap ever lol
Really like MegaDeth doing Metallica. The II II sound really good here too.
Okaaay. Peace sells sounds too much like something that would be indeed in Load.

But does it go to 11?
@@BobBigWheels I believe it actually does.
@@BobBigWheels you bet your big wheels it does Bob
@@donbishop6994 100 audio interface and sub 100 3" montiors from amazon are good enough if you are just a bedroom player
Dude I would pay millions to hear a full version of Peace Sells in the Load style, great work!
Otto II II II II amp sim is literally the one! Fully loving these switcharoos, totally mind bending hearing the Master of Puppets riff like that. What was your favourite riff / most weird to play in the video?
Yeah dude it’s a tone tweakers paradise for sure. I love turning knobs and flipping switches
It's fun hearing the re-imaginings! Now I want full Megadeth covers of Metallica tunes 😅 Those tones are killer
favorite is Metallica played in style of megadeth, the tone fits the whole experiment 100%, it sound as if this thing was reality
Man, I'd love to hear vocals to most of those, especially the For Whom the Bell Tolls one! Dave's snarly vocals sound right at home to that riff!
Honestly it all sounds great. Putting the II II II II through its paces on this one, and it delivers!
Absolutely love the II II II II for high gain tones. Sounded mammoth in this for sure. Great video Pete!
Thanks Ryan 🤜🤛
The perfect amp for this video. I've been using the || || || || since it launched and it's my go to for heavy, drop A-tuned guitars. The tones really fit in the mixes here Pete.

For Whom the Bell Tolls is one of my favorite Metallica songs and doing it in the style of Megadeth just sounded great🤘🏽

Thanks for the words Jon 👍
Really inventive, you seem to have really tapped into some subtle things that give each band it's unique sound. You have your 1000th like from me sir.
Thank you! I’m pleased you enjoyed it :)
The II II II II is amongst the best amp sims out there for sure and quite versatile in terms of music styles. Cheers
Great swap video 🤘 amazing tone! II II II never disappoints, it’s truly the only amp sim I use for my band and solo project, please share this preset 🤘
Word, we want presets!

Lol I love how the camera pans to the picking hand at 2:11 to highlight the down-picking skill for that riff lol
Love the "peace sells" riff! That was awesome. Love your tone also!
I love the tone too ;)
This amp sim is great. Has really good settings for bass also!! Love the color of your guitar. I have a 1986 RG in the same body color. 🤘🏻
Would love to hear a whole Album of Metallica songs in a Megadeth style! Nice job!
absolutely love that puppets riff!!! nicely done dude
I was waiting for Call of Ktulu. The Four Horsemen/Mechanix would have been funny too. Great video, and amazing riffage.
Peace Sells in the style of Metallica Load Era was soo good!🔥👌
especially with the solo
Where is tornado
Hey, Pete! The "Sad But True" riff is just different enough from the original that you could make an original song with it. Seriously. It's a good riff that kinda feels wasted here. Now we need full tracks
this was incredible to watch, thank you!!! maybe even full songs in the future?
Brother you gotta do a full cover of Peace Sells (Metallica Load Ear) that was fuckin kick ass!
Thanks! :)
I really want to hear full track of "For whom the bell toll" by megadeth
I think this is a good example that justifies Dave remaining in Metallica. If Dave and Cliff were around together long enough I can't fathom how many great songs would have been made.
3:34 Call Of Ctulu
Great!
I would have done Symphony of Destruction ultra slow in Sad But True style :)
II II II II sounds great . Loving the tone.
Great video, amazing tones! Your good ol' 6505 Mini is still good, but I think it just got placed into retirement. 😂
So is everyone sleeping on Peace Sells in Load? Cause that was killer.
I bought the 11 cause its more affordable compared to neural dsp with their 50% off. Not disappointed.
Thank you Naz 😎
That hangar 18 - ktulu connection that nobody talks 👍
Peace Sells with the Metallica Load style is dope !
Thanks! :)
I like how for whom the bell tolls bass line just the same, it is Cliff's masterpiece and nobody can do better for this song 😊
Very cool idea and very well executed!
Thanks! :)
In my opinion the metallica style symphony of destruction sounds better than the original riff it fits the song
This is dope! I love how to Dave Ellefsoned For Whom The Bell Tolls 😂
Jeez, the Master Of Puppets in Megadeth style sounds like a legit song from Rust in Peace album. And the Bells are really like something from Peace sells album

Symphony sounded awesomely similar to a riff from Sanitarium, especially tone wise.
To answer that question, all you needed to do was listen to "The Mechanix" from Megadeth's first album then listen to "The Four Horsemen" from Metallica's first album.
Honestly wasn't sure how this would turn out but I think you nailed it! Very well done.
I was about to say "WAIT A MINUTE" when you got to Hangar 18
The Megadeth interpretations were spot-on
Please, Megadeth song in St. Anger style.
Of course, the snare also.
I love the way some of these sound
Symphony of Destruction in Metalica style sounds like Iced Earth and it's awesome, it would have been one of the best riffs ever written
This sums up if they were to join together and make a big band, and it’s AWESOME!!
This is the most amazing thing I have ever seen on RUclips. Thank you.
That bells swap is perfection
03:33 Hangar/Hanger of Ktulu
That For whom the bell tolls was sick
I had a feeling something from Kill Em All or Ride the Lightning would be on here. I wasn't disappointed 😅
Love the tone!!
Thanks! :)
Me too ;)
Next do if Ozzy and Dio swapped
Literally how I play symphony since day one to jazz it up haha
Man. Peace sells sounds realy good. Mayby you can make a full cover in metallica style?)
Thanks! I thought I'd go for a slower vibe with that one :)
i like that the last one is just The Call of Ktulu
amazing tones!
Honestly
I've thought for a While now that Metallica and Megadeth should have done 1 collaboration Album
Imagine
*Dave and James (vocals and rhythm)
*Marty Friedman (lead)
*Lars (Drums) because Nick Menza is Gone R.I.P

IN A PERFECT WORLD
"Holy wars" in Metallica style,. fuck yeah man! powerful riff!
Sick riffs with massive tones!!!!!
I want to visit this alternate universe!
For. For whom the bell tolls nothing can replace cliff’s bass
I need for whom the bell tolls megadeth full version !!!
Dude that was sick 🤘🤘
Pete that was really cool I think. Could have a new band with that vibe - Megatallica
Brilliant as always. Now we just need to convince Pete to sing on the Hetfield/Mustaine styles to accompany the music! 🤣
Cool tone!
Something about Megadeth's riff style is so much more eclectic and exciting.
Symphony of Destruction was superb, post the whole song dammit, my head needs to bang :)
After re-listening to this, Symphony of Destruction is my fave, tight as f..k!
That is a cool Ibanez! I think you should do a Video on it!? which model is it?
Absolutely love it when another if you videos drops pete, amazing as always 🤘🏼😈🤘🏼
this is a piece of art
For whom the bells toll sounded killer , specially the opening with the bass ,enter sandman sounded kind of weird to me In my opinion , the other ones sounded good too
Next time you do a riff swap video or "what if it was this band" type thing can you feature Coroner?
All of them sounded pretty good except hangar 18. It's hard to make it not sound like Megadeth. I'd love to hear complete versions of these
would've been cool if you used ride the lightning since originally it was dave's riff
All fantastic but favourites are Holy Wars & Symphony Of Destruction. Both Megadeth songs strangely
How tf did you nail it so well
Haha, Metallica's Hangar 18 had me smiling before the explanation came up 😁😁
Still waiting for the New episode of 1 riff 10 bands. Your the Best seriea
I gotta make the joke.
You forgot the four horsemen Megadeth style and Mechanix Metallica style
As a mainly Metallica listener who rarely listens to Megadeth, I completely forgot that Hangar 18 was the same chords from Ktulu. It's funny too because, right before that section came up, I was thinking: "it would be pretty funny if he did Mechanix, and then just played Horsemen normally.
I think Dave wrote that part in Ktulu which is why he remade it for Hangar 18.
@@Kruegernator123 he did, I knew that , but didn't know its made an appearance in a Megadeth song
It would be funny to see Mechanix in Metallica's style.
I'd love to see both Metallica and Megadeth react to this video
Awesome job as usual, but maybe as you are a young man you chose some songs as Call of Ktulu which were written by Dave Mustaine as well. This is the reason why they use the exact same chord progression of the hangar 18 riff...
Wow I really like the Metallica style of symphony of destruction! I like it way more than I thought 😮
Awesome video, great job with the riffs
Thanks! :)
