i'm not saying testament are a metallica rip off but listen to the legacy it sounds like kill em all the new order sounds like ride the lightning practice what you preach sounds like and justice for all souls of black sounds like ride the lightning
Although a lot of people like to deny it, Dave's sound mixed with Cliff's is what made up a lot of Kill Em All's vibe, and with Ride they started to go away from that and Kirk and James's artistic visions became to show a bit more, along with Master of Puppets, which was their all too early Magnum Opus, in my opinion. Not to say other albums are bad by them, completely the opposite, but people who are Metallica fanboys like to ignore Dave's contributions. Although that's not to say that Megadeth fans are completely honest with themselves about how much Dave really contributed either
I said "influential", not "best". Cliff Burton had a huge influence on the group too, and non of his songwriting is on their most successful album (The Black Album). You can hear Dave's influence in songs like Leper Messiah, Frayed Ends Of Sanity, and others. He inspired fast and heavy songwriting on the group, which is why their first album is so much more energetic than anything after it.
there’s definitely a lot of dave in early metallica and i know theres a lot of common material but i feel like some of these don’t really sound too similar and like, random garage recordings are super cool but aren’t finished metallica songs

You didn't mention that "Mechanix" intro is also from "Ride The Lightning" (from 2:36).
ButcherGrindslam it’s also just “the four horsemen” sped up
@@kevinmaclellan7546 everybody knows that - actually "The Four Horsemen" is butchered "Mechanix". I talked about intro to the final version of "Mechanix" where you can hear riff from "Ride The Lightning" clearly".
@@ButcherGrindslam I've never noticed that...
oh my god!!!!!
I'm not sure that's the same riff, unless I'm missing something?
I mean yes it sounds similar but it's not even the same notes, is it?
3:31 that riff is also in “Thus Was My Life” By Deth 🤷♂️
This was a video I was expecting for...! Never thought there were so many previous Mustaine´s riffs out there in Deth´s songs!
You made a really good job, great compilation and comparative....This enforces my idea that I love Mustaine ´s stuff even more than the one the rest of Metallica did, exception made of Cliff, of course-but this is a personal opinion!
Thanks for another great video, frrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrieennnnnnd!!
2:43 Holy shit, this is fucking awesome
I like how call of ktulu is basically a compound of Dave's riffs
2:44 dave's over drinking exposed
I remember Mustaine saying there was one small guitar lick or riff off of Master of Puppets that Metallica kept during his time with them. I've never heard what song that was.
Bridge of leper messiah though it really doesn't sound that close at all
dave mustaine is No.1 metal guitarist
Some more similarities
The Doctor is Calling (1999) and Sad But True (1991)
Similarity - chorus riff
Addicted to Chaos (1994) and Sad But True (1991)
Similarity - riff
Holy Wars (1990) and 72 Seasons (2023)
Similarity - several riffs
No mustaine at the begining : no Metallica kill em all and ride the lighting
@@MasterofLightning kill em all part is right
They would have still had 6 songs add am I evil cover they have an album.
He even said they could have easily found another lead player and been just as successful
All this work... I Mean, you got such an ear frrrrriend!
I'm amazed, didn't realized about a lot of stuff from Ron's Garage.
Amazing work, once again congratulations!!
4:43 The Conjuring
yup
Awesome video Andriy blin.Loved it!
Mustaine said that when he joined Metallica, he has 3 songs. 2 of them he showed to James and Lars, JITF and Mechanix, the third one he left for himself. Then you can hear it as a Rust in Peace... Polaris.
Okay now it's pointed out to me I can kinda hear the similarities between Wake Up Dead and Ride the Lightning
Never liked Metallica, Seen ,Master of puppets tour with Ozzy. Great tour. Everything after that I thought sucked.
Seen every Megadeath tour there has been. I think over 17 times. Dave, kicks ass
that bonus solo in return to hangar sounds like the opening in the conjuring (i think)
Hey Andriy, the solo in Live Young, Die Free by Overkill is basically the middle section of My Apocalypse by Metallica. I was shocked when I listened to the Overkill song for the first time :). Keep it up!
i'm not saying testament are a metallica rip off but listen to the legacy it sounds like kill em all the new order sounds like ride the lightning practice what you preach sounds like and justice for all souls of black sounds like ride the lightning
I have to check it!
@@satanworshippers2614 How so?
Great Video Man!!
Dave Mustaine is the most influential songwriter the group ever had, as well as Cliff Burton.
*least
Jason had some good input too on Justice
Although a lot of people like to deny it, Dave's sound mixed with Cliff's is what made up a lot of Kill Em All's vibe, and with Ride they started to go away from that and Kirk and James's artistic visions became to show a bit more, along with Master of Puppets, which was their all too early Magnum Opus, in my opinion. Not to say other albums are bad by them, completely the opposite, but people who are Metallica fanboys like to ignore Dave's contributions. Although that's not to say that Megadeth fans are completely honest with themselves about how much Dave really contributed either
Very hard to say that’s true when their most successful and influential records had none of his songwriting on them.
Rattle Head is muted wtf
So much Andriy this weekend
4:47 that solo is also in The Conjuring!
Missed the base and rhythm lines in Phantom Lord from 2min 30 to 3min 30 and last minute of This Was My Life off from Countdown to Extinction being the same also.
Metallica's version of Rust In Peace... Polaris was amazing.
the greatest of all time!
I just found out that the riff behind the solo of My darkest Hour sounds like the main riff from Metal Millitia
Great video! Very interesting
MalephicBass Thank you!
I love the pic with Jason, Rob, and Ron at the end.
Wow, if the riff from My Kingdom was originally written in 1982 and put on record in 2004, that means dave was carrying that one around in his pocket for 22 years? Seems improbable. Do you think it could be that he himself listened to those old garage recordings and remembered some of his old stuff?
That last solo is also the same solo motif in the conjuring! Badass thanks for posting. Dave is a beast!
Megadeth really got boned on the recording quality on their earlier albums.
And Justice for Dave Mustaine
Dave Mustaine is a Legend! Megadeth forever 🤘🤘
You're in fire those past few weeks ! Keep going Andriy !
4:10 It seems that Dave love dat riff
17 years later used the Call of Ktulu riff thinking no one would notice
Dave Mustang is t he best metallica guitarist
het yeah
Mustang? It's MUSTAINE.
Dan Maler Mustardstain*
I like Kirk
The best car in metallica
Something some people seem to be missing in the comments is that some of these are just jam tapes with Dave and Metallica never used these riffs the few they did were songs that were worked with Dave so they belong to the band Metallica....and they are very few mind
Whatever, I love all these songs and riffs from both
Ulrich and Hetfield are Botox and Silicone
Wow this video is gold !!
Without Dave we didnt have metallica or Megadeth thanks for that Dave Mustaine
Metallica existed before and after Dave
Nice sound quality! Thank you, Andriy :) Мощно!
Bonus track also sounds like the conjuring first solo at about 1:05 of the song
So glad that we got both .stop the nonsense of comparing. Start enyoing the music.they don't f....ing care what we think.
0:18 "Day Mustayn"
Thank you andriy love you videos mate!
Fun fact:The riff in Phantom Lord and This Was My Life was also in an Overkill song
Yes, one of the songs from Ironbound I think.
I think it’s The Goal Is Your Soul
What about one of the coda riffs on Head Crusher-similar to Seek and Destroy?
Slayer's Bloodline intro as well
Now you know the PHANTOM Lord is Dave Mustaine
Doesn’t Dave use that same guitar solo lick that was used in early Phantom Lord in The Conjuring? Around the 1:14 mark
