Hey Andrea ✨✨ Really enjoyed the riffs from 1994 to 1999🎉🎉🎉, thank you for doing this video very educational and entertaining for me I went to hear the original versions after listening you play from 1994 to 1999 I prefer listening to your riffs of those songs, ✨✨✨💖💞🐱🌼😺 I have a strong feeling you might like some of my riffs😉🌹🕊️💗💗💗💛💛💛

damn, the live wire tone is better than original
btw Metal hasn't gotten any better since the 80's, only worse if anything
have a nice day
this man really waited a year to play each riff, my respect to him!
Hope he makes a skincare routine video
🤣😂👍👍
@@helgijonsson3537 I know, the man didn't age
Amazing video quality from the early 80s.
I needed this thank you
Man, I've been watching this guy for like 4-5 years now, and he still hasn't stopped rocking. That's awesome. Never stop rocking your heart out; you're one epic guy.
Did you see him play for Rammstein? He is a super humble and nice guy too.
@@AzByCxDwEt hes awesome
and still with his favorite sg
Indeed
Yep. This guy is a rock n roll beast.
For 1991 you can have one riff per month. What a great year for music!
Yeah 1991 to 1993
@@ancilu2522 Ya after '93 its sporadic awesomeness.
@@avenqer You are right, sporadic is the correct word. One good exemple is the British stoner metal band Uncle Acid and the Deadbeats, especially the album "Blood Lust".
80-90 was the greatest time
@@ancilu2522it definitely did fall off at ‘94, but Korn’s self titled album and One Hot Minute with Dave Navarro were pretty cool
1980 - Randy Rhoads - Crazy Train #1 most well known iconic guitar riff
I'm so glad you chose Holy Diver for 1983. Honestly one of the best riffs I can imagine, but it seems to not get as much recognition as it deserves nowdays
Same
yea its definitely a great riffs and it packs a punch. If I had to guess id say it probably doesn’t get much recognition anymore because its very simple and also in a higher register. also its 40 years old lol
Dio in general is so overlooked nowadays and it makes me sad.
😆
For real!!
Dude didn’t age a day in 42 years! Niiice!
Proof a strong diet of essential metal keeps you young.
And not once changed his shirt. 😬
Металл, это непросто музыка, это состояние души, и мыслей человека в целом, молодец.
Still coming back to this video and still fascinated by how clean that transition from Ghost's Cirice to Gojira's Silvera is.
How can you pick just one song from each year in the 80's? Ridiculous number of great options. Well done.
True. Motley Crew as metal…? Far better and pioneering choices in that era, but everyone will always debate someone’s choices.
Oddly enough.. it's hard to argue with any of his choices.
@@wordragon true
@@wordragon Faster than Love and Shout at the Devil were metal. Theatre of Pain... hmm... not so much.
@@Iffy50-Maybe Live Wire maybe, but I don't think the rest of that album is. Merry-Go-Round is a perfect example of many of the songs on that album and I'm not sure you can call many of those songs hard rock, much less metal. And, the album is called Too Fast For Love, if that is the one you are referring to as their debut album.
Shout at the Devil, the same, there are some harder songs on there, but there are many songs that definitely aren't real metal. Maybe, the title track is the only one.
That riff from Cirice is so good that it scares away all the people that would normally complain about including Ghost on a metal list.
"Cirice" is their masterpiece and Ghost is definitely old school Heavy Metal. 🤘🏻🔥👻
Very good Slayer.
No it doesn't
@@brandonkoncyk1842 only for the first album and nothing else
Ghost mixes metal, rock and pop elements. And some people dislike those pop elements.
I got chills at the 2000s part where you showed COB and started playing In Flames.

always a pleasure to listen & watch you play so smooth! thanks, I missed Slayer somewhere for the 80/90's..
The transition from Cirice to Silvera was perfect! :D

Grew up on classic rock like the eagles, Don Henley, led Zeppelin, Joe Walsh, Pink Floyd, Hendrix, along with 80s - present metal with a good majority of the metal genres these days. Hell, you name it and I'm sure I know it and/or have it in my 5,000 song library on Spotify.

I'm very happy to see Gojira so much, they are really something else, something original, even talking about the thematics in the albums.
I Absolutely agree bro

Must be one of Andrea's favorites...He really looks like he's enjoying playing that one!
I finally learned how to play that riff lol
I had just bumped up the playback speed to 1.25x when Through the Fire and Flames started. I've been headbanging for the past 11 minutes! Thank you! I needed this. Metal forever!
I got my first guitar about four years ago. That was right around the time that you released your video "20 Iconic Metal Riffs." Up until that point, I hadn't been exposed to metal at all. And now here I am four years later headbanging as I play through these riffs. Pretty cool, I'd say.

Bravo. A lot of good choices between mainstream and lesser known riffs. It was enjoyable waiting to see which riff would come next.
Man, is so hard to choose only one riff per year, especially some years like 1986 (reign in blood, master of puppets) or 1990 (painkiller, holy wars, cowboy from hell). But just because you chose opeth's deliverance for 2002, you deserve all of my love and respect.

Yeah. There should be like 729 more to represent the decade and the genre thrutfuly, but hey, you can only fit so many riffs in this thing...
for me they are. i dont give a single fuck about old metal riffs anymore, cause every month theres something new.
The transition from the Ghost riff to Gojira was so satisfying and unexpected. That was too heavy, it sounded like it was a continuation of the song. Perfect transition.
Dang, this get me psyched for the day. Like a single soundtrack of all the songs I love back to back. 🤘🎸😎

Yeah, it has. I think he needs to not repeat artists though. A lot of great metal bands that are newer and very popular.
@@_Bishopton Agreed!
Great video! Glad to see Ghost represented.
A bit surprised Slayer didn't make it into the video. Nonetheless, thanks for putting this together!
I think the same. Was incomplete. 😔
Making a list like this is never easy as cuts have to be made, but I’m surprised to see Slayer is omitted from history! War Ensemble especially. Great video, I loved it!
Especially when we see hard rock bands instead.
Yeah, why was Slayer omitted from the list! They were wildly more inspirational to the genre than most of that shit. Most of the bands in the 2000s wouldn't even sound the way they do or even exist without them. But from the looks of you, I kinda see why!
even Megadeth is only once and only in 93, what do you expect...
It’s like a 40 year list of bad songs
Unfortunately, War Ensemble came out in 1990, like Painkiller.

Yes, this ↑. Only Symphony made the list. Not the best representation. Tornado??

It was good to see Crue and Dokken represented from the 80's. Mick Mars and George Lynch both are quite underrated. Glaring omissions from in and around that era: Fastway's Say What You Will, Pantera's Cowboys from Hell and of course Megadeth's Holy Wars.

Очень круто 🔥 смотрел все видео не отрываясь! 🤘
I remember Static-X's announcement of Project Regeneration back in 2018.
I was already super excited as a huge fan of the band, but I just got more excited as they played snippets of the new songs.
Something Of My Own, in just the short few seconds we heard, became one of my favorite Static-X songs and I couldn't wait for the entire song.
I was getting angsty to hear it with constant delays, both with the band finding more scrapped material and legal issues with one of the former guitarists, but after nearly 2 years of waiting, the album dropped and I immediately went to Something Of My Own, and all my expectations were met.
Little did I know the entire album was also fantastic, some I can't believe were originally scrapped.
May Wayne rest peacefully \m/
Todd didn't do it!
Played in a band with him in the 80s. Glad he made it......and he was framed. Tripp, set him free!
As further proof that I'm old, I didn't have to look at the song titles to know the riff until 1993. The 80s were a fun time for music.
That SG sounds so friggin awesome
Its about time someone recognized Opeth for Deliverance in 2002. Easily one of the best outros of all time.
I play in a rock covers band. I'm of a certain age (mid 50's). A lot of my contemporaries will say one or other variation of 'Oh I never listen to anything after (Insert year here). This new music is all crap.' Those people drive me mad. It's not that the music stopped being good in their specified year. They are actually just listing the year that they died inside and stopped feeling new feelings. I pity them. Anyways, you just showed everyone how wrong those dead inside people are. Excellent video. Consider me subscribed. Stay classy brother..
BS
Lame
I mean, you cant tell me that there isnt a stylistic change over the decades. More focus on the base drum, ever harder, faster riffs, screamier, growlier singing, etc. So, if you enjoyed early 80s metal, 2000s metal might not be your cup of tea. Or, in other words, while I enjoy NWoBHM I really dont like Death Metal. Or Nu Metal. Doesnt mean that there arent modern songs I enjoy, but I have to look a bit more. And hope for Maiden to keep bringing it.
Styles fall out of fashion, but they dont disappear.
A masterpiece of a video. Some years it's difficult to choose one song because that year has a lot of masterpieces come out. ( 86 for example) great video and sound as always. Can't wait to see what you do next 🤘
Some great riffs in there!!!
Yep.. That's spot on.. How time past by.
I hope that most people end up giving you the credit for the playing skills even if they didn't really liked the songs that were chosen to be played, there are so many options to choose only one from a whole list per year 🙏 Great video as always.
This could be an ongoing series. You've got endless riffs to choose from

i was thinking the same... all my favorite songs in this video.. man!! 1980 is a hard one though, sabbath priest, ozzy, saxon maiden, even scorpions had wicked albums in that year... come to think of it i never actually thought about sabbath (non-ozzy sabbath) and ozzy both releasing two of my favorite albums in the same year
1992 is where I left off. I am frozen in time there. ⏰ But much respect to all the metal heads still jamming to new music! 🤘🏽
Some of the 00s thrash is really good tbh, you should check it out one day if you feel like you wanna hear something new🤘🏾
Yeah. I listed blind, but by the time I got to 95, I had to look at the screen. I really dropped off. 2010 onwards, no chance.
So many different styles, and I love them all.
Biggest evolution is in the rhythm, of course. Rhythm playing ( not just drums ) has went above and beyond...
Keep on rocking, brothers!
quando ele começou a tocar sepultura eu arrepiei pra krl, mto bom qnd essa banda FODA é reconhecida no exterior
Sepultura is absolutely crap.
Pois é, brother... é uma pena que a formação clássica tem se desfeito... a química entre os caras era incrível... certamente teriam feito muito mais.
Eu também irmão.
Sepultura es universal.
Sempre será, "SEPULTURA FROM BRAZIL", orgulho
figata ! I did miss some bands as the avenged and others which I should consider for my riffs , cool!
