@@williameverwineno Strokes too
I'd like to give a nod to Randy Bachman's "American Woman" opening guitar riff and melody.
love that you had a smile on your face for every riff except for the MGK one 😂
as always - killer video dude 🤘
lmao he just looks sad
@@ghost_mall the music is boring and uninteresting as fuck
I mean that song is flames even though MGK tanked his reputation afterwards.
He looked depressed 😂
@@MiketheNerdRangery’know I do not like mgk but I fw that song. I think you can really tell which songs trippie and Travis barker had a hand in writing more cause some songs off that album are much better than others
Love that you actually played the intro and a bit into The Kids Aren't Aright. One of my favorite riffs ever.
Have you heard the Evergreen Terrace cover of it? They made it heavier while still doing justice to the original version.
The most punk rock intro of all time
We need a 50 King Crimson riffs from you my friend. Your Fripp tone on 'Red' was immaculate.
Yup the Crimson Ruled!
I was surprised that was on the list, considering they weren't well known back then
@@caelenselke-minogue
Really?
He wont do it he dont want to get Fripped
Fripp played the riff on Heroes also.
I didn't expect for this video to get to my feels but it damn sure did.
Nostalgia - a sure fired way to your purse strings, via your heart strings..
Right? My life in music.
You can’t forget You Really Got Me, one of the most notorious riffs in hard rock history and also one of the first hard rock songs ever made.
It's from 1964 and the list starts in 65
@ you really got me is from 78
@@zachr1386 AHAHAHAHA no
@@zachr1386 Bro, is a very simple wikipedia search...
@@zachr1386 uhhhh. The Van Halen cover is. But the original song by The Kinks, is from 64
Dude, the transition from "Back in Black" to "Tom Sawyer" was clean AF!
You just got yourself another sub! Can't wait to see what else you do.
Nice to see Alex Lifeson get some love. Alex is one of the best rock guitarists out there, yet overshadowed by two of the best ever at their instruments.
No it wasn't
Kinda feels wrong having MGK in the history of rock ngl 🤣🤣
Honestly, you’re not wrong
People would’ve felt the same way with Blink-182 back in 1999
@@chadwickmcfaggins9734 Except MGK is universally reviled by anyone who's not a TikToker or groupie. He'll leave exactly no mark on rock music, having innovated nothing and excelled at nothing, while Blink 182 at least were at the forefront of a real, but bad, rock movement.
You can tell by Boma's expression he's not pleased about it either.
@@chadwickmcfaggins9734 no they would not 😂 I was actually alive then, I remember it.
A video with metal riffs from every year would be great!

@@jamiahlqvist9683 Thanks
He did that a month ago.
Already done
I love how each decade up to 2010 has a distinct personality but the 2010s starts to mash them all together with more chromatic twiddles. Great microcosm. Will check out your other vids.
I don't listen to explosion sounding new trash like Them Sick Puppy's, Slipknot, Korn or Cutting Edge of Rock music... But I assume correctly society doesn't know s single Rock song after 2010.. Someone save Rock n Roll & bring Classic non angry sounds back..
@@jigsawjason1984 weezer
@@coolguyy3000 all anyone knows, about them is remaking Africa, by Toto... 🌜🌛🤡🤡🥱😎😎🤣🤣😂😂👌👌
@@jigsawjason1984 doesnt matter if people only know them for their toto cover, they still have great albums after 2010. its not about being hip and popular, its about the music.
@@coolguyy3000 I guess, but..... How do you think of looking them up, if ya don't hear em on FM radio, I always like asking. Lol
Highway tune has one of the catchiest riffs of 2010’s rock. I catch myself humming it all the time.
Hands down for the work put into this video changing the tone settings for each song has to be a job. Thanks for the video man
Lots of great riffs in there. Amazing to me that my favorite is so close to the beginning. Nobody better than Jimmy Hendrix and that Purple Haze riff is perfection.
smoke on the water forever number1
Thank you for including This Charming Man, Johnny Marr is so underrated
Oh man, Anastasia. Not many people know that one. Hats off to you sir
pleasantly surprised to see it, for someone so famous very few people tend to recognise slash's music outside of gnr
“Run Run Run” is a shockingly deep dive for a Who song!
Also, I love your SG. I recognize it as a 2002/2003 Special Faded because of the ebony board and crescent moon inlays.
When doing wonderwall, he looked dead inside
@ghost mall Hello is a cover of a Gary Glitter song, so maybe not that one.
A monster of a collection. So lovely of you to have included King Crimson. I liked the smirk while playing Smoke :-)
I feel like Cage The Elephant should've been in there.
Amazing selection dude!
What a history... So many different sounds in a briefly period of time
Did not expect Joy Division! Edit: Or The Cure! The Cure is my favorite band, but I never see them in vids like this. Thanks for playing something besides blues-based rock! It’s like there’s lots of varieties of guitar music!
But I LOVE blues based rock. It is one of the best things ever
Yet another history video that is masterful. Thanks for the video man. I have found a lot of , to me , new bands because of all your videos. Can't wait for another video man 🤘
Kind of wild how many of these classic rock bands were from the UK.
Yeah, Beatles and Oasis.
Absolutely wild.
Bruh, Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin, Queen? Sure just Beatles and Oasis.
Beatles, pink floyd, queen, led zepelin, the cure, the smiths, oasis. Could easily include riffs from the stone roses, porcupine tree, or the verve. And many more. Uk has great guitar rock
@@RobertHurleyJrAnd how many of those were formed in the last 30 years??
Answer: zero.
It is hard to select only one riff per year. I can feel your pain leaving other ones behind 🙂
Great work sir!
I love how you didn't stop after 2013 which a lot of people do in these videos. This video does an amazing job of showing how rock is still alive and well it just isn't as mainstream as it used to be.
nor is it as good
After 2000 there are nothing epic...
@@edersonluizsouzacosta1652I would say that after the 2010s
@@electroAMmainstream rock n roll stopped being good after the 50s
@@xavier4519 i think thats a little too far back. The 70’s were amazing and the 80’s were pretty good, but after that it started to fall off.
I imagine you could go back to 65 again and start a whole new set of riffs.Good stuff.
Man I gotta say, all of these were great but I feel like, either because of your setup or maybe your own personal taste(?) you really seemed to get into the ‘90s stuff. The tones were spot on and they sounded fantastic, I really enjoyed it!
You've inspired me to learn a few of the riffs you played in this video. Thank you, sir!
Always seem to forget what an awesome song Supermassive Black Hole is!
Thank you for reminding me! Great video 🤩
Very nicely done. It does seem weird that smells
Like teen spirit was not there.
Yeah
agreed
Come as you are would be my choice, such a catchy riff.
Thank you for including The Pretty Reckless. Incredible band
I like what you did with the font each decade
A Perfect Circle making it, and so triumphantly might I add, sold this list to me. This are some excellent selections
23 years later and Judith hasn't aged a bit! Just as awesome as ever.
That's the first time I've heard someone come close to Money For Nothing. Kudos!
You're one of the reasons I got into guitar. Tysm!
Great video and the list too. It feels complete. And thanks for including The Cure and Joy Division.
Look how far we have come.
Great list and playing as always.
What a masterpiece! Even if, in my opinion some bands/some songs could miss, you're a so great guitar's player! THANK YOU!
Great job nailing the tones too!
Truly, truly awesome the amount of work and dedication that must have gone into learning all these riffs and songs. My hat off to you, sir!
Seeing the dates next to some of those riffs makes me feel old!😢
Nice to see a couple bass riffs thrown in
Another great video ! Very close to the original songs. Thanks a lot man.
This is an awesome video and the sound for each song was great.
Yoo,that’s fire bro
You got them tones perfect!
this dude never misses, crazy good videos always man.
Great work Andrea, like always.
Maaaaaan, you're never dissapointing! Cool work 👍
Damn Boma ten times ya made me cry this time. Incredible job. Tones were insane.
Absolutely great history and some killer guitar playing.
This is a hell-of-a playlist.
Great playing and mixing!
Love that. Thanks man. Another great video. I love the passion.
Amazing! as always
A truly incredible selection of riffs 🇮🇹🤘!!
Nicely done video. Some great transitions.
Love the video! I am new to guitar and learning the history behind all of it so thank you!
The 80's and 90's all the way! Bravo my good Sir Bravo!
Thanks for the Fripp and Homme. :)
That SG is beautiful
Yo Bo, this is awsome, keep em comin' brother!
Every riff here sends chills
nice andrea posted
Awesome selection, Champion 🤟
Sick video! I love these
Fantastic video. Thanks for this! Could you do a top King Crimson, Muse and Uriah Heep riffs video? I was glad you added Red on this list because that's one of my favourite heavy metal tracks.
Are they heavy metal ? 😂
Love to see recognition to Rival Sons!! Best band in the world!! ❤❤
Mid, at best.
Outstanding collection! Plenty of non-obvious but tasty choices (Orange Crush!) and consistently awesome tone!
Great job man! 👍
God damnit man, now you made me want to dust off my old turntable and those classic rock LPs I had laying around somewhere. Amazing selection as always!
Awesome, never less than excellent ♥️
Great showcase of how rock keeps on inventing. Plus a great showcase of you and your abilities! New sub :)
Fun video! This highlights all guitar players who never learned a complete song, just the first part...
Kudos to you for not picking the obvious one for 1991 (even though it’s a fantastic riff).
Absolute metal carnage on the face, the whole 'what is that smell' vibe until MGK and it looked like you would rather be anywhere else.. we feel you man. You took one for the team and the boys know it.
What a wonderful Video! Probably i'll get the lessons.
Cool,
I missed a lot of your videos, however i sucribe to your channel, with all messages .... keep my eyes open from now .
Thanks for palying for us!!
How'd you even go about choosing one song for each year? Kinda curious about the whole process and what bangers you left out for some reason or another
Kinda surprised you didn't go with Heart's "Barracuda" for 1977, but otherwise this is very good!
I will be binge-listening to this. You should have one billion followers! Subscribed!
That was amazing!
Really appreciate the inclusion of "Tom Sawyer." "Moving Pictures" is one of the defining rock albums of the 1980s.
Glad to see you're still doing content.
I wonder if one day we will see the return on 50 riffs videos, or not?
I have been hoping for him to do 50 Deep Purple riffs for years now
very expressive! love it!
Love the finish on your ax!
Excelente! 🎸 👏
NIN reminds me how good music could be in games.. IMHO ALL 90' games have killer rock riffs. Dooms. Duke, Quakes, Twisted Metal 2 (my favorite) and many more including especially race games like Gran Tourismo, NFS, Test Drive etc
Great job, man
So cool, I know this took some time. Bravo!
Found you by accident - 🤬- so glad I did cause … daaaaaaam your great… ✅✅✅✅✅
Kinda knew 1980’s riff was gonna be the iconic back in black and really all of these riffs have and will always kick iconic ass! Excuse my language but hey I’m not lying lol. In the words of the great Ronnie James Dio LONG LIVE RNR!🤘🎸
53 years of playing the axe and I can't touch this, magnificent my brother
Espetacular! Muito bem elaborado! Parabéns!
I have a suggestion, it would be nice for you to bring the full version of the Black Metal song that you composed in the video for "15 STYLES OF METAL" it's just a suggestion, very good your video bro
Loved it! 😁
You did Red!!! KC is my all time favourite. Please do more!!!!
I love how 1995 is the only acoustic year
personally i would've chosen chop suey by soad for 2001, but it's a great selection of songs nonetheless. great job
Soad are metal, so it’s more important to show an influential or popular rock band for that year
@@thebigman8250 Then I'd have picked Fat Lip by Sum41
Great picks!!!
Great job I think you nailed it.
