That solo tone!!! Blew me away as a teen. Got me out of playing most riffs in my comfortable 4/4 box and also earned much more respect for trash with just one guitarist. Also love (another) Tommy from Prong too, bad ass riffs as well as textures.
Saw Dark Angel live this summer. After the show Rienhart came up to me and hugged me because he said I was awesome in the crowd! But the best part was when Gene Hoglan went up to me and gave me his drumstick, i was absoluetly speachless. Was already a fan before but now I'm a die hard fan
I'm so glad you got Xentrix in there. They're a band I just recently discovered and wondered how the hell I didn't hear about them for the past 30 years. Great band and song choices as well as great playing!!!
Metal is not a genre I tend to listen to on a regular basis, but every time I watch your videos, I find something I like. Sadus and Voivod sounded pretty good to me.
Nice! My preferred riffs: 0:48 Artillery / Khomaniac | 1:31 Dark Angel / The Death Of Innocence | 3:48 Forbidden / Chalice Of Blood, which I did not knew before.
Awesome job! Great to see some of the best lesser-know bands but you forgot Heathen! Man those guys have some of the raddest riffs. Also Sabbat and Flostsam & Jetsam are top level bands.
Man, what a feast! Not a single average riff in the video. I loved Morbid Saint and Razor especially, just bought Spectrum of Death and Violent Restitution patches a few days ago. \m/
Awesome video man. Cool reminder of the many many brilliant thrash bands out there!! You should do a video one day with thrash metal bands who mainly write about social and/or political issues.
Wow dude....I almost broke my neck, what a good compilation!!!!. How good Coroner were and how little recognition they had, their music seems very intelligent to me. I have missed a band called Laaz Rockit!!!. If you don't know them, I encourage you to hear something about them!!! A 10 point video!! 🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻👏🏻👏🏻
I appreciate the nod to Jeff Hanneman with the urban camo ESP. I enjoy watching your videos playing the music of my formative years (I'm 47 now) and will always have a place in my heart for the thrash and death metal bands that (I hope) have influenced today's metal. Up the irons, horns up, and any and all of the old metal sayings that communicated the metal ethos among each other.
Amazing skills once again. It's the bands I grew up listening to that triggered me. Sacred Reich, Slayer, Coroner, Sepultura, Exodus, Destruction, Kreator, celtic Frost and Voivod. Man Voivod. Those Piggy riffs. Thrash for ever.
I have been a fan of punk (mostly hardcore) since I can remember. I obviously dabbled in metal growing up but just recently started getting really into thrash, crossover thrash, death, black and doom metal... and the amount of awesome bands for each genre (and sub genre) is overwhelming.. in a good way haha. I am loving these lists.
I have seen 19/35...a few here I have never heard of...like Xentrix, Protector and Demo Hammer...going to explore them. I love that you got Voivod in there...such an influence on my drumming and guitar playing...ie Piggy (rip) opened the door for odd chords for me and now Chewy crushing all the new material. It's been 7 yrs. since seeing them but I had the opportunity to open for them in 1997 when they were a 3 piece for a bit. Amazing meeting them then and again 7 yrs ago. Great job on this...I'm sure it was not easy to pic these 35.
I listen to Thrash but clearly not enough. I mainly listen to the "usual suspects".... Metallica, Slayer, Destruction, Anthrax, Razor, Nuclear Assault, VoiVod, Metal Church & the band that i believe started it all Motorhead ! My Top 10..... 1. Metallica 6. Razor 2. Slayer 7. VoiVod 3. Anthrax 8. Metal Church 4. Nuclear Assault 9. Destruction 5. Motorhead 10. Sepultura
Excellent ! Well, although we can not put everything, remember, Sabbat (U.K), Heathen, Atrophy, Hirax, Necronomicon, Deathrow, Vulcano, Korzus, No Return, Accuser, Realm, Mortal Sins, Sacrocanct...or Corior
Good evening and thanks for joining me for 35 Iconic Thrash Metal Bands !! Enjoy and have fun !
Sabbat - The Clerical Conspiracy?!?!?!?!?!
Great list!
Very Nice thanks
Ich liebe deine Videos 😂! Love from Germany since 1981
Great... thanks... I'd just like to add the band Assassin :-)
Growing up a metalhead in the 80s was the best of times.
This is absolute magic.
👏👏👏
Got my first job at 14 in '81. Every payday after that, I was at the local record store. Seems like there was a new awesome band every time I went.
And it was the worst of times. Bloody hair rock being lumped in as metal.
thrash metal is the best thing to ever happen to music
I just discovered Coroner for the first time maybe a month ago and I was blown away. What masterpieces of albums to go so underappreciated!
Big time. I'd say possibly the most talented under the radar metal band ever.
@@embracerodusk2537 I’d have to agree. I couldn’t believe the precision and technicality I was listening to, especially for when it released.
@@wallbarr Tommy Vetterli is such an incredible shredder. Intro + Nosferatu is one of the greatest instrumentals ever.
That solo tone!!! Blew me away as a teen. Got me out of playing most riffs in my comfortable 4/4 box and also earned much more respect for trash with just one guitarist. Also love (another) Tommy from Prong too, bad ass riffs as well as textures.
Yeah I bought all the albums as they came out on vinyl. What time man. Bloody awesome.
Any list that kicks off with Sepultura is guaranteed to be killer! Great work as always mate
i think its alphabetical
@@GarroldS isn’t the first letter in the alphabet bro
@@Rustinpain35 you think i was paying attention bligga?
@@GarroldSAAACCDDDDEEEEFHKMMMNOPRSSSSSTTVVVX
It's in no particular order I'm assuming, otherwise Overkill would and should be higher on the list than the majority of bands on here.
I love how you get straight to the point with 01. Sepultura. Great content man.
Artillery is so underrated by inheritence is One of the best thrash albums
It’s really good that there’s Demolition Hammer, they are absolutely underrated and absolutely FIRE🔥
Yeah but he missed Devastation and Solstice
Voivod was so innovative and intense for their time
Kind of sleepy music, though
There really wasn't anyone who sounded like them. RIP Piggy.
@@bloodstone2k Vektor has some Voivod inspiration, but really faster
Their psych rock era was kinda shitty but their new progressive era is good
Voivod is my favorite metal band for how unique they sound
Same
Did you try Vektor ?
The few albums we got of Dark Angel, were very underrated. Tons of killer riffs.
Huge band, in terms of artistic value
your renditions of riffs always get me in to the bands you play them from! love it!
Love the guitar tone, sounds clean and modern yet old school and raw at the same time
Thanks mate !
@@TheSuffocaterGood work. Could you do power metal riffs please
this must be a joke. This guitar tone is a complete garbage.
Coroner should have been SO MUCH bigger. that record was (and still is) amazing
Great to see Nuclear Assault and Sacred Reich on this list. Death Squad is such a killer riff!
This man deserves much, much more attention!
That Testament riff gets me every time. Into The Pit!
IN TO THE PIT!
The real big 4 member
Lamb of god copied it or not?
Indeed, brings back Vanessa Warwick....
@@swiatlowiekuiste my thoughts exactly! maybe not 1:1 copy, but inspired for sure.
I'm so glad you got Xentrix in there. They're a band I just recently discovered and wondered how the hell I didn't hear about them for the past 30 years. Great band and song choices as well as great playing!!!
same I love Xentrix think I first listened to them only months ago but I fell in love with them
Try Onslaught 'In Search if Sanity' and my personal favourite Acid Reign 'The Fear'. 2 British thrash bands from the 80s/90s
For British Thrash also try Slammer, Annihilated, Deathwish, Sabbat, Virus, Lawnmower Deth, Hydra Vein to name a few
I love thrash so much 😢
It’s so much better than heavy metal
Me too bro.🤘🏽
I concur that this is possibly one of the best compilations of thrash bands and riffs. Thank you for the work putting it together.
I was heavily into Kreator and Overkill during my teen years. Nice to see them both here. Nuclear Assault was a surprise.
Thanks for including Razor.. I find they are often forgotten and under rated.
The Overkill thumbnail got me. They were always my favorite thrash band.
Metal is not a genre I tend to listen to on a regular basis, but every time I watch your videos, I find something I like. Sadus and Voivod sounded pretty good to me.
Those are two great choices!
That By Inheritance album is such a ripper 🤘🏻
Nice! My preferred riffs: 0:48 Artillery / Khomaniac | 1:31 Dark Angel / The Death Of Innocence | 3:48 Forbidden / Chalice Of Blood, which I did not knew before.
So stoked to see Voivod make the list
Same
Living with thrash metal music.
I watched, I listened, and I didn't want it to end.
Great collection, thanks a lot!
Stoked to see Coroner made the list!
Thanks awesome video
Great work man, you are the one of the coolest guitarist I have ever listened
Artillery is a choice cut! Their 1990 album is an underrated classic.
Morbid Saint' Spectrum of death rules so much. Over the top thrash when thrash was going downhill 🤟🤟🤟
havok , hirax , evile, municipal waste, machine head, D.R.I, warbringer, toxic holocoust
Vektor !!!
Laaz Rockit.
Sensacional ver o Violator no meio desses clássicos 🤘🏾🤘🏾🤘🏾
Vim correndo comentar isso. Que bom que tiveram reconhecimento
Violator foi matador nessa lista
Sim 🇧🇷🤘🏻
Absolutely loved this, brought back a whole load of memories for this old school thrasher. Keep em coming!
Fantastic work as usual!
Thanks mate !
So many great songs from so many iconic bands
great performances
Thats why i love this channel , i discover bands i didn’t know. Thanks a lot.
Bostaph is instantly recognisable in Forbidden. Awesome!
Awesome job! Great to see some of the best lesser-know bands but you forgot Heathen! Man those guys have some of the raddest riffs. Also Sabbat and Flostsam & Jetsam are top level bands.
Also forced entry, possessed, Whiplash, Rigor Mortis
Man, what a feast! Not a single average riff in the video. I loved Morbid Saint and Razor especially, just bought Spectrum of Death and Violent Restitution patches a few days ago. \m/
annihilator freakin rules mang m/
По доброму завидую тем, кто впервые открыл неизвестные для себя группы из этой подборки 🤟
4:35 is just plain nuts....you can feel the aggression that Mustain was trying to express.
Forbidden - Chalice of Blood is my favorite riff. Great video!
0:21 *Alison* hell
thanks for posting morbid saint, love there new album!
Great list. There are like 6 or 7 bands here that I have never listened to before. I will have to check them out
Very happy to see coroner in the video, they are criminally underrated.
Great list, great riffs.
I'd like to recommend another rather unknown band: Paradox.
Excellent! I appreciate the amount of work and time it takes to put these videos together!
This is awesome ! Absolute blast !
Awesome that you included Annihilator, Sacrifice, Voivod and Razor from my home country, the only one you needed was Exciter! Great list!
i like how you put songs with similar drum beats next to each other
Coroner 😊
Thanks to guys like you I’ve gone put a Jackson Dinky on lay-by ….thanks for the inspiration
Whenever I need some more ideas about great metal albums to listen to, I always come back to your channel. Sehr gut!
Primitiv future is one of my favourite Sepultura songs. Good job!
Cool! Love that you included Violator in this! Many crazy days in their concerts!
Awesome video man. Cool reminder of the many many brilliant thrash bands out there!! You should do a video one day with thrash metal bands who mainly write about social and/or political issues.
A brilliant collection! I think Destructions most underrated album too

Thank you for dropping the Violator in there!
I knew a handful and there are a bunch I need to check out. This was awesome.
"The Death of Innocence"!!!!!! Up there with one of the best thrash songs ever I reckon!!!! Superb list here.
This channel always delivers!
Nice collection...Of course I notice you head bang just a little bit harder for some of these Iconic thrash groves. =D

Awesome list. Vio-Lence deserved to be so much bigger.
You killed it my metal bro... Out of the 35 bands I knew 30 of them but glad to see lot of Canadian thrash bands in there 🇨🇦🎸🎶🤘
Thank you for including Voivod. A fantastic list and video....
YOU SIR ARE A LEGEND
Demolition Hammer. Awesome, thanks Suffocator!
Crazy, I just relived my teenage years in 10 minutes, thanks brother!
Brutal as ever, my brother. I only missed some Flotsam and Jetsam in there. And maybe Onslaught. Keep rocking!
And Tankard, Toxic Holocaust...
tankard was there
@@M5Scomek i missed it, sorry
@@piotrww5100 TH is more recent. Great band, but not a classic like all the bands the dude presents here. Cheers
great job brother....thank you for including "Forbidden", as they are often overlooked.
I have a good suggestion with Varg playing sections of oldschool, punkhardcore, crust, grind, gloom, noize.I think it would be the top with his virtuosity!
Hell yeah brother !!!

Nice content, thanks, a lot of bands i didnt know they existed I see i missed a lot of great bands back then
A great list. I love all of those bands. Great job on the riffs.
Goddamn sir, I love your hairstyle! Makes me wanna recolour my hair to white. Extremely cool looking!
Saucool. Hab viel neues Material entdeckt. Rockt wia'd Sau... und super gespielt. Es macht Freude, dir zuzuschauen. Thx for thiz!

Excellent ! Well, although we can not put everything, remember, Sabbat (U.K), Heathen, Atrophy, Hirax, Necronomicon, Deathrow, Vulcano, Korzus, No Return, Accuser, Realm, Mortal Sins, Sacrocanct...or Corior
I'm so glad having Sepultura right in the openning. \m/
I'm actually surprised that Assassin didn't make it on the list. Maybe it was just iconic for me. 😉
Dude! The testament riff was on point my man!
Dam " every single amazing lp ever recorded . Your taste in music is killer 🤘
Epic video man! Must’ve taken ages to do.
I would love me some crossover-thrash bands next :-)
Suicidal Tendencies
MOD
SOD
etc
Thanks a lot mate, just check my other thrash videos , so you will find all of them ;)
4. All "By inheritance" is still a great master piece and pioner of technical thrash metal

Great riffing, great list. It's all there.
