The differences are bigger when you add vocals and context and background of each subgenre. Each subgenre have a disctinctive feel. Some riffs sound desperate, other are nasty, other rude, other more atmospheric or emotional, but need to listhen the whole songs to catch the vibe.
The differences are sometimes very minor, but metal genres get sublabeled to hell and back, in my opinion. I'm not sure whether it's beneficial to the genre or not. There's like a few distinct sounds that are definitely something entirely on it's own but there's a lot of intermixing that the intense subgenres aren't really that necessary.
Cool video! Although I would say that Ensiferum track isn't a _great_ representation for folk, it has a lot of the general vibe but something with more obvious folky elements would have been cool to hear to clearly differentiate it from other genres :)

Really cool! I’m a bit new to metal (I’ve started exploring a few months ago), so this video really helps me to know and explore different genres and bands too. :) 👍
Well done! I didn't know some of those genres. I like most of the genres, music-wise, but it's the vocals more often than not that makes or breaks the song/artist for me.
You know it's kind of funny you say beach metal. I've been working a summer concert series for 10 years now (they're not metal bands) that has the stage facing the beach and the lake. When we're breaking down the stage at the end of the night, we're almost always listening to metal. Usually Pantera or Metallica... so I guess they're both beach metal bands now.
Thank you for the pleasing format of this video. In the spirit of Freedom Call's Metal Is For Everyone, I've been working on a few people who are metal-adjacent, and this is a good video for conveying the diversity of the genres.

Aahhh that solo at 4:38 is wild
Loved it
Whoa man! Incredifuckinble skills……and guitar collection! I love your channel!🤘🤘🤘
Rammstein is Industrial also, nice pick with Fear Factory, you could do a follow up and have Ministry, Carcass and a few other options you missed. nice list, and THANK YOU for having Pantera as GROOVE. limp bizkit is Nu metal..
Limp Bizkit is crap.
@@PazBinv1 it's your opininon. I don't like Korn, but I know that my taste is not an example for others
Agree. And what the hell is blasphemous metal? Is that really a thing? Body Count IMO is a more classic example of rap metal
Rammstein is Neue deutsche Härte,
A very specific subgenre of industrial
@@ShanghaiWall he was probably thinking about blackened death but then again,Incantation is death metal..
Really cool! I’m a bit new to metal (I’ve started exploring a few months ago), so this video really helps me to know and explore different genres and bands too. :) 👍
I like how you didn't put the most obvious/clichee choice of song for the genres, made this Video a great learning experience!
Your guitar tone is absolutely sick
Saved the best for last! Great guitar work!
Cheers man!!! Nice range of metal...awesome....from nightwish to fear factory
Well done! I didn't know some of those genres. I like most of the genres, music-wise, but it's the vocals more often than not that makes or breaks the song/artist for me.
Absolutely nailed Pantera in tone and attack " Dime would be Proud 😎
Granny likes metal
Thats a dude
Look the commentator's pfp
Only 25?!!! Great video as always!
You forgot beach metal, elevator metal, petting zoo metal... /sarcasm, lol
Epic list Mr. Suffocater!! 🤘
Acoustic Black Metal is basically beach metal lol
@@StageRight123 Kickass! I'd want to purify the speakers too, lol.
Excellent work Mr Suffocater...you even have the signature Tones of each artist down to a Tee including Dimebag... amazing
Thank you for the pleasing format of this video. In the spirit of Freedom Call's Metal Is For Everyone, I've been working on a few people who are metal-adjacent, and this is a good video for conveying the diversity of the genres.
Bro your professionalism impressed me. You play a lot of guitar, thanks for the list you've made, I didn't knew most of these songs 😅
I don't know if you like all of these songs, but you did respect and played perfectly each one, i can see you love playing guitar.
Congratulations from Brazil 🎉
Death Metal from the 80s to today for me always 🔥
