    I was born in 79. I learned about 80's rock, heavy and hard-rock through my older brothers and cousins. Thanks to this, I knew how to recognize the sources of the 70s and love good rock and metal from the 90s, in my adolescence. I love Ozzy, Billy Idol, Led Zeppelin, Def Leppard, Deep Purple, Judas Priest, Alice Cooper, Van Halen, Kiss, AC⚡DC, Guns &🥀, Aerosmith, Scorpions, Faith no more, Iron Maiden, Metallica, Megadeth, Korn, Sepultura, Rage Against the Machine, Motörhead, Slipknot, Alice in Chains, The Offspring, Tool, System of a Down and so on🤘. You play a lot of them. Thx for bringing them back to the memory of many of us.

    • @Seriously_Unserious
      @Seriously_Unserious 2 года назад +5

      The most iconic musical sound of the 80s was really the glamrock, and that's the music style I first got into when I first discovered rock. Was a bit surprised by the overrepresentation of metal and hard rock for the 80s and virtually nothing from the most iconic style of the 80s. Glamrock was pure 80s it didn't exist in the 70s and it didn't exist in the 90s. Much like grunge was pure 90s. Genres like hard rock and metal made their start in the 70s and are still going strong to this day. While there were many iconic songs of those genres in the 80s, those genres themselves are not really iconic to any decade, it's pretty much ubiquitous since the 70s.

    • @ShannaNL
      @ShannaNL 2 года назад +3

      @@Seriously_Unserious Glamrock was, not back then and not now, ever, considered part of rock. It's considered a pop style garnered to imitate something that looks like rock and was considered cringe then and now laughable at best. sorry

    • @Seriously_Unserious
      @Seriously_Unserious 2 года назад +6

      @@ShannaNL You're entitled to your opinion, but I will choose to disagree. I grew up in the 80s and it was THE DEFINING music of the 80s, and that's from my own personal experience. But like I said, you don't have to feel the same way as me, we all have our own music taste, which is why there's so many different styles.
      Along those lines, I'm not aware of any new major music styles since about 2005 or so, maybe I missed one along the way, but seems to me, for the last couple of decades, the art of music has stagnated. Not for lack of musicians trying, but the mainstream does not promote experimental styles, just the "profit formula" styles.
