I am the brand manager of the first professional esport team in morocco. I am new to this, but i am enjoying it so much. At the end of the day, it feels great to see your and team ideas coming to reality. A weird sense of satisfaction
Awesome.;.. thanks for the share Dinary
What do you do exactly bro?
So what are you doing (or did, given that this comment is a year old) that was different from the esport team owner?
How is things going now
I have just launched my business in entertainment brand management. This is new for me, but I am learning the business and enjoying being my own boss
Launching a business in entertainment brand management is a significant step. It sounds like you're diving into an exciting field and enjoying the journey of entrepreneurship.
Keep pushing forward, and feel free to reach out if you need any guidance along the way.
I worked more than 20 years in brand marketing of FMCG companies, including major multinationals. Marketing communication is not more than 10% in BM's scope of work. I'd rather use the concept of Marketing Mix to illustrate what a BM does: Product (management of product range and NPD), Price (management of brand pricing and profitability), Sales Channels (development and coordination of brand initiatives in various channels with the Sales Department) and Communication.
I believe the role has evolved beyond traditional concepts... There are many aspects to a brand from customer service to brand culture to employee branding that are overlooked by the 4p's
Thank you so much for this , this is definitely my calling 👏🏾
Great to hear 👍😀
This is very informative. I'm new in Brand Management. I love to learn more from you
Great to hear thank you 🙏
With the cost of Research ( Consumer, Trade, Product, Media, Brand Health tracking etc) going up, alongwith the cost of communicating the brand ( across online and offline, in-trade and OOH) going up, as well as the cost of brand Activation and Promotion (both ATL & BTL) going up, it has become an increasingly uphill battle for BMs to manage brand spends and stay in budget. Corners will be cut as a result and equity will suffer long term.
It's a pity that cut backs and savings in critical brand housekeeping, planning, Communications and promotion in the short term are being praised and justified at the cost of future brand salience and strength.
Especially when the leadership teams are under pressure for short-term success. Branding is the long-game which doesn't always align with powerful stakeholders.
I see a future where companies will eventually choose critical brand performance measures like distribution ( brick & mortar + online), bare bones communication like un-paid digital media for e.g twitter or on-pack and minimal promotional actions like wet sampling, Limited Edition Pack launches and events participation, to support their brands.
Love the detail in your synopsis... what industry are you operating in and what are you seeing there?
@@BrandMasterAcademy I work in the packaged food and beverage category. While critical focus remains for business to keep our neck above the waterline, it's not all doom and gloom. For instance we've held all TVC production and terrestrial airing spends, shifting them to generating online content and SEM (paid digital), which far cheaper than conventional media spend.
We've cut all customized research, simply because for e.g retail audit is giving misleading data on brand switching, when consumers grabbed whatever they could lay their hands on off shelves during the pandemic and its resulting supply chain disruptions.
Instead of the conventional heavy distribution & promotional spends on new launches, we are opting to partner with Amazon and Alibaba etc for direct to consumer delivery as well as new brand trails and conversion.
The bottom line is not for companies to wait for normal to return, but for recognizing new realities post covid and leveraging brands in new ways.
Thank you so much for these, it is really informative.
You're very welcome!
Very clear and concise.
Great to hear thank you 🙏

Hey man, hope you are a people person in the comment section and respond in an occasional manner.
I came to ask and see what a brand manager is, but I would also like to know what a brand manager is not.
If a brand manager works at a company that sells fictional books, there's multiple franchises/series of books made by the developers/writers.
I would like to ask, if a brand manager ran a fictional book company, does the Brand-Manager have full-control over the story/canon of these franchises/series of books?
Every writer-publisher relationship is different... Although the brand manager of penguin books wouldn't be involved in the writing of books... they would most certainly have a say in the type / stely of books they publish to ensure they stay on-brand
Wow! Thank you
You're welcome!
Thank you!!!
You're welcome!
I am called a brand manager for one of my clients. I have a designer, a web developer, and a social media manager who are executing the strategy. The business I work for is small and I found myself lately being either asked to fill in other roles (write copy, create newsletters, come up with sales campaigns in 2 min over the phone) or only advise when there are no ideas of how to move forward. Basically, the owner doesn't want to invest in the role but he expects to get the answers and strategies to grow his brand. How can I explain that an answer doesn't come without research, analyzing, and coming up with a plan and that all of that takes time and of course resources?
You need to draw a line in the sand Ioana.
Essentially, they want a branding and marketing department in a single person... A unicorn that doesn't exist and if they are playing that role (Like you) they're spread way too thin.
Define the roles you're prepared to play and the ones you're not.
When you need something outside your role, tell them we need to invest to move forward.
If they don't, you need to ask yourself about your long term relationship with them
@@BrandMasterAcademy thank you Stephen for your answer. I'm going to do that. Thank you for the videos and for Brand Masters Academy. I finally have the structure and processes I could have never done by myself. You saved me years of struggle. Thanks you
Delighted Ioana 👏👏👏🙏🙏🙏
Actually this is a very common problem, only a few people can realize this. But as the master said, it is true to think about the long relationship. At least I don't want someone dying to be that one man army or 🦄 unicorn.
I am in the process of creating a business and am looking for a brand manager as my business rely’s heavily on social media and marketing. Thank you for this, I know now not to expect one person to be my entire brand marketing arm/unicorn.
In the company I work in, the branding is under the marketing manager, which puts pure marketing over branding.. I do branding on my little for the brands I manage by myself.. but I don’t have resources to do things like market research for branding.. is there a simple way to do that ?
What type of research... competitive research, audience research ? When you don’t have budget or resources for paid research, you use and find what you can online from forums, groups, social pages and review sites 👍 guerrilla research
@@BrandMasterAcademy
I can do a simple competitive research looking at what the competitors are posting: images, text..guessing what brand archetype they're using, towards whom..so I can try to detect other unused archetypes and build my own voice (even if sometimes there are just few archetypes that can be used with that product) .. but audience research is the hardest to do
That’s why not everyone is a strategist
Please make a video on how to become a brand manager?
I mean to say that in that video please talk about the stream to choose, what we are suppose to take in the collage and what we are supose to do in the graduation ....
Have made a note - I'll try to get to it at some stage
Hey big fan of your content! One thing I will say is that the lighting is off in every video. The darkness is intimidating and uninviting. Adding some brighter light sources will definitely amplify the quality of your content. Best of luck.
Thanks for the tips!

Can we have a video on how to build a profile as an independent brand manager

I wonder whether this job is stressful and time-consuming, since those careers in the field of management are difficult to do!
I would think most careers are time consuming and some of the most rewarding are the most difficult... dedication and hard work are fundamental
Managing own small business no army of specialists
How to start career in brand management? What is the 1st level or position to start career in brand management?
The first step is to understand branding & brand strategy. (Plenty of videos on here and articles on the BMA website). The next step is to develop a strong understanding of marketing. The third step is to begin to offer the value you've built up in the knowledge you have to smaller brands to gain some experience or to find a junior position where you can apply your knowledge. From there your goal should be to continuously acquire more knowledge and experience in your area of expertise
@@BrandMasterAcademy Thank You So Much Sir.
I am doing courses on different platforms related to brand management and merchandising but I was not getting the direction towards career options in brand management for fresher level.
Thank You For your Guidance.

Great to hear 👍😀
What is the part of the marketing that is the most creative and visual? Are foreign languages a skill for these kinds of jobs?
Most visual? design... Though strategy is also creative...
Re foreign languages... for the right role, absolutely
@@BrandMasterAcademy I love languages, even the "hard" ones so I asked myself which role required this skill
most of these roles are taken by the marketing manager
Which responsibilities belong to the marketing manager exactly?
