Months later, no matter how many of these videos I see, I completely lose it. Tears streaming down my face. TNG was the show I grew up with. LOVE seeing the Enterprise-D one last time.
Not my favorite version of the ship, but she's definitely up there. It's good to know she's got a much better ending now than the one we all thought she had. She deserves her peaceful retirement alongside her older sisters NX-01 and NCC-1701-A.
How is it, that something fictional, a make-belive setting, something drawn up with "crayons" of the imagination, can instill so much emotion that it makes a 38 year old man still tear up almost a year since we saw this revelation that our home, our Enterprise, was ready for one last run at kicking the borg's arse? Love the edit, nicely one with the Farpoint clips, from the first adventure, to the last, history will never forget the name "Enterprise", fictional or otherwise... :)
0:01 At least they got the turbolift right this time. When the D appeared in ENT's finale "These Are The Voyages", Troi enters a turbolift, but it clearly wasn't the same design as in TNG. Looked more like the E turbolift, but with the ship schematic display removed.

BTW they only had recordings of Majel saying captain Picard no doubt so that is why he accepts his field demotion.
