- This talk was given at a local TEDx event, produced independently of the TED Conferences. Can we learn to lead, or is leadership something we're born with? In this thought-provoking talk, Tasha Eurich shares a prescription to be not just awesome at leadership, but anything else you want to improve.
With a contagious passion and energy, Tasha Eurich pairs her scientific savvy in human behavior with a practical approach to solving business challenges. Her life's work is to help companies succeed by making their leaders awesome. In 2013, Tasha released her first book "Bankable Leadership: Happy People, Bottom Line Results and the Power to Deliver Both." It debuted at #8 on the New York Times best-seller list and was named a Top 10 Small Business book by Small Business Trends in 2013.
About TEDx, x = independently organized event In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized.* (*Subject to certain rules and regulations)
1, know thyself
2. improve one thing/ focus on one thing
3. practice

thanks for summary
"We live in a world where people hardly ever tell the truth."
I love this Ted Talk!
Sadly - telling the truth can be career suicide. You have to know when to pick your battles
@@ThorMaximus It can be detrimental but it can also be what propagates your career too. With unending truth comes unbreakable trust
And when you and someone else can completely trust each other is when you can be most productive while maintaining a strong bond. David Goggins and Jordan Peterson give good examples
Yeah of course it depends who you say it to doesn't it, truth may not always be the good thing to tell, especially to bad people, ehh.
This was really great and I do agree with everything she said. The problem with people is that many want to be successful but not all want to pay the price to reach the top. That's just about it!
You are totaly right
Ariel Grushka This is the new generation's mantra: "Hand it to me. I am entitled."
IW Nunn Hahaha definitely! Just like some people here who think they are fluent in a foreign language "just because they have a certificate". Okay! When they actually need to use it not a single word comes out... I study International Relations and I get frustrated with such things. People acting like they're such great thinkers/philosophers and stuff when actually they can't see much further from the box they're stuck in and their beliefs and point of view are the only absolute truth. I guess you can relate lol.
+Ariel Grushka Yep. I was a secretary at UC Berkeley for awhile. That mindset is endemic there.
Cathryn Bauer Ugh that sucks, doesn't it?
The message came across just right to me because she knows how to speak clearly. The way she was talking and the pitch of her voice took me in; it made understanding easier but this only my opinion :)
Whatever makes you happy man.
+Tron's Travels bitch!!!
Calintz Aensland I agree! Great talk.
For all the people who are criticizing her, I have a quote for you " When the wise is pointing to the moon, the idiots are pointing to his finger" Peace. ^_^

TED Talks are always good. This is no exemption. She was very practical advising us to "know thyself". Learn limitations and work one oneself to become awesome. A real awesome speech.
Not true. Some TED talks are the same concepts of "you can do it!" or "you don't get it!" over and over again.
Her message was good, and to the point. She didn't focus it on leaders, I think she meant that anyone in any situation can become a leader if only they followed these 3 key steps. I think it's simple, and very practical- I liked it. My takeaway is that I need to also do something about it, not just figure out my problem area, but take responsibility, and invest in me, before I expect anyone else to -another point well made! Kudos to her!
I cannot even begin to express how profound this video is to me!
Wow!
I love the way she delivered her speech.
Cassidy Pham
I actually really loved the way she delivered her speech. She was very clear and convincing. I wish I had more professors like her in university, because she seems very into what she is talking about.
9:57 - question instead of blame ... TOP for me from this TEDx talk
no one will truly invest in you but YOU !
Thank you for revealing these 3 simple powerful steps!!!
The way she delivered the speech was just awesome.
She is a very great speaker
1.Enough practice is successful weapon .
2. Nobody will invest in you but you. 😙
Thank you for showing systematic approach to self-development.
"Awesome" talk!! ... simple and practical advice on how to become better leaders. Thank you Dr. T!
She is a very great speaker!! Only three steps, it looks easy, but do it not easy!
She has awesome speaking skills. Love her sense of humor, story telling and maintaining the pace of keeping people engaged.
Be a piece of the puzzle, never see the big picture! Hell yeah!
Self practice is the most critical step here... And that too needs to be done on a routine basis! this is where most people fail...the key is to have a goal or mission in mind so that energy and motivation drive you! Good talk in all.
Excellent talk. So great to hear someone speak clearly with passion and conviction.
Tasha, this is so great. Clear message, applicable advice with a roadmap for how to do it, starting today. I love that you remind everyone that leadership is accessible to everyone, if they just commit to doing the work needed to develop that skill. So true. Thank you, and keep on preaching the good word!
The only thing more awesome than this talk would be Barney Stinson giving the exact same talk
This talk inspired and changed my life from the moment the video ended! I feel I can work on controlling all of me and I want to thank you
I find her manner really tedious but I respect what she says and know she's doing it all to help people out which is totally righteous.
This lecture was completely magnificent, I enjoyed too much!!!
I feel like she would be really good at reading stories to kids, her voice is perfect for it
awesome speaker , she make me thinking about a lot of things going in my life .
I didn't realize how to change my thought about thing i thought i am good in it , but the truth is the opposite one , so the change will be now .
anyone he/she didn't see this video , please go and see it ...
big thanks to Tasha Eurich
I love Tedx, so excellent talks! This one just brings me again into mind the teachings of my beloved Guru. Be in the space of the powerfulnessness. What eyes can see, hand can do. The space of possibility and possibility. The space of Paramahamsa Nithyananda. :)

There's no way around hard work, focus and commitment is what i got from it.
I thought I learn something new, something that was not already written and said a thousand times. Thanks for the effort - I`ll keep looking...
Very simple steps to improve ourselves. We only have to have the desire to be better.
she specifically stated that desire is not enough. You can't become better at something just because you want to.
super intuition for every one to improve these 3 things
Nice talk, Dr. T! Inspiring, direct and simple. I'm going to go find something to be totally awesome at now.

Excellent! One of the best talks that I've heard!
OMG.. she is mindblasting with her 3 steps... she is unmatchable & incredible (Y)
its amazing the way hiw she put all the things in a nutshell. loved the video!
The audience's lack of response was almost painful to watch, especially when you can tell she was waiting for laughter.
I suspect you watch too much tv. In real life most people laugh silently, a smile is enough...
Smart Cat Collar Project I don't, actually. I'd clicked on this video right after watching 'TED Talks Education', where the audience was very responsive.
M. F.S depends on audience, all people are different
It's not important. And I think what she said is true.
M. F.S I'm sure she's aware of what she does and does not have control of
I love this lady ..... I want to be like her..🙌🙌 one day I will be
Great Idea ! I'm struggling with planning my life, my year, day etc. I can plan a day or two and then give up. Get frustrated at myself that I haven't done anything and my life drifts away. I'm gonna stick to this !!!
+Faolán Mac Tíre Did you stick to it?
