I paid a total of £32.00 for this faulty Xbox One on Ebay. The description stated it doesn't turn on and that the warranty sticker is still in tact. I lack serious experience when it comes to fixing consoles, so let's see how this one turns out :)

Power is present because of the momentary fan movement when you insert the brick. Ok next step is hdmi must also be inserted because if fan doesn't spin the xbox may turn on but will kick into over heating and shut off and the notification will be displayed on the TV/monitor. Also that daughter board may be bad so try without it but use a fairly thin metal clip and by touching the pins in the connector port will turn on the xbox I believe it's the 3rd or 4th pin I can't remember but possible.

Them red lines are marks from the factory, they are common on bigger motherboards compared to smaller ones such as DS and Switches mate, love the channel btw always watch when new videos are uploaded 👍

Being honest mate I have NO idea, can't remember what happened to it lol.
Hdmi needs to be hooked up silly fan moves means powers present. Use a metal pin or paper clip to touch the pins on the board without the daughter board. But hdmi plug in and turn on. Power turns on for a second also if fan went spin kic look s it into over heating mode and will shut down. But again you can't tell unless the hdmi cord is plugged in while powering up. Did I say that right without confusing you?

Lol this was to be the unconfused version..lmfao. but on serious note if you havent fixed it yet or messed with it great we can start you on the positive outcome to success. Your power brick once its connected that little movement from the fan means powers present and ready to rock. But my advice is also plug in the hdmi so we can see an image on a screen. Then go ahead and try to turn it on from daughter board. That's if it's still same condition as it was .

If you want to turn on Xbox without face plate gentle press by ribbon cable connection
most common issue with these not powering on is a MOSFET issue

Hmmmm.... I ain't looking too good. 😖 Perhaps they misheard "clean the heatsink" as "clean it in the sink".
As you can see from the Xbox One and the PS3, modern consoles are practically PCs.
I see the heatsink fan wants to go - traditionally they'd work off of electromagnets, although it could be witchcraft these days. Could it be worth trying to encourage it to spin, with a cotton bud or something? Also is the heatsink fan trying to turn before you touch the front power switch? If so, the switch could be shorting.
