I just started my locs today 😭 I know this gone be a long journey bc my hair is short so I know this short stage is gone be crazy
Me too girl !!!! But honestly the first time o started my locs journey my hair was very short and I only remember three days of me having a bad hair day lol tbh I don’t really remember the ugly phase it’s like starter locs then boom I got hang time lol
Same here! Restarting my journey after cutting my locs back in December... I regret it but am very appreciative of the experience.

You're going to cry during the process... facts...im on day 3 wanting to cry. I cut my hair all off and starting at a very short length. I have to watch theses videos right now
Mine were beautiful when I first started. It’s the frizz that will get you. I’m usually natural and not self conscious about my hair but I hate looking like I don’t take care of myself and that’s what I currently look like sadly lol I haven’t cried yet but it’s frustrating

Right I started my locs yesterday I had 14 inches of hair. My loctician kept telling me how healthy my hair is and asking me why I wanted to start locs. My twists are like 3 or 4 inches long because of shrinkage 😫

If you're really trying to go all natural with locs you should really only use water to retwist your hair and don't use any gels or wax to do a retwist

Grew my hair for 5 months just to skip the frizz stage I’m only going into my 3rd week and I’m happy with them the shrinkage is crazy they were about 4 -5 inches wen I got them twisted they shrink to a measly 1 inch 😂

Month 3 is the stage NOBODY tells us about. I’m in month 3 and currently dying. My hair is very soft and shiny and pretty. But right now it just looks so bad. I wrap my frizz too but it does not help. I just said fuck it, I let my locs stick up, I lay my edges and do my make up. I’m over trying to hide it at this point lol

@Lexmix exactly what it did for me ! Thank God my hair grows fast but i had to get used to the actual natural look & letting my hair do it’s thang! Currently 2yr 2mo🎉

I just started mines today with the rubberband method and I'm just gonna wear braids over them for style.
I just started my loc journey 2 weeks ago. I use the dry shampoo spray when it starts itching. And I use rose water for moisture. I may switch from the dry shampoo spray to something else because I can’t quite get it out like I want to.

Yea my hair is probably shorter than when you started the back ain’t even twisted yet 🤣 but the rest is doing very well. Idc for how they look cause i wear a scarf like everyday lol and i have no problem with that lol

I'm just tryna figure out is it normal for my hair not to lay down. I started with a TWA and I'm in month five. And 2 weeks into a retwist, my hair starts sticking up. 🙃

I had a question about what you said happened with your twists unraveling when you put the passion twists in. If you start your twists off twisting to the left isn’t of the right, will that minimize the unraveling? My kids are mixed and I’ve been braiding their hair and said I’d be a pro by the time they are old enough to need one.
