19:58 obligatory R9 mention, nice. I'm just waiting for the reveal, and hoping for a release in Q1 2025 like the KTM 990 RC R. Excited for these two !!
Hey 44T - I have a 2015 MT09 got used, it has some cool bits already done - re spring in forks, a Penske rear shock- nice EBC wave Rotors ? With nice pads, braided Lines - it stops almost as good as any Ducati with brembos I’ve owned. Also full Akropovic exhaust-The CP3 makes beautiful sounds it has 20k miles, so fun! wheelies for days probably the most fun bike I’ve ever had!
Great funny and to the point review as always. Glad they've addressed the brakes, the 9 and 10 are weapons even without these improvements so its definitely a marker to other makes.
I have a 2021 SP, (last model) and its an utterly class bike, underrated and probably one of the most capable back road scratcher bikes out there. That oven hob switch on the new model is gash.
Looks like a riot to ride!! I'm still not a fan of the MT09 looks. I hope they update the XSR900 with the new electronics for 2025. Would love an XSR900 SP.
XSR900 SP Never coming sorry. I confirmed with a yamaha rep. The MT sells 3 times as much. So they have enough interest for an SP. You could make an SP yourself though by upgrading the components!
If Yamaha put the rear-ABS-off option on the base MT, I'd never buy the SP. I'd upgrade the suspension to something better than Yamaha is ever going to do with it.
5:55 finally someone properly acknowledges how awesome the quickshifter is in terms of what it provides that other makers do not offer. Downshifting while accelerating and upshifting while decelerating. I also find that pretty amazing.
I have a 2021 MT-09 base and I haven’t been interested in the 24 model because I didn’t think it was worth trading my bike in. This changes my mind. I’m definitely keeping an eye out for this at a local dealer. I wish I could keep more of my parts to transfer over but I think the frame sliders are the only thing I can keep
Tried this and the Monster SP, and the Monster won on agility and low down grunt. I could have gotten the MT SP and would have been very happy, but the Monster is a bit more fun on the smaller roads I ride most of the time. I still miss my old XSR900 a bit though....
Can't believe they didn't put right angle valve stems on it! Did they think people didn't like the ones on the MT10? Great bike. Amazing, fantastic bike. Not buying one new, until it comes with fairings and says R9 on the side.
Struggling to think of anything else I would want out of this platform other than maybe semi-active suspension, brembos front/rear, lithium battery, and tank pads. Maybe on an SP2 variant for a bit more dosh?
Lots think that you have better suspension makes it harder, but it makes the useable window more compliant, but some also make it harder when the track is smooth.
@@FortyFourTeeth had a R1 cross plane , brakes were horrendous, had a mt10sp too brakes were poo poo on that too my tuono brakes give me a reverse face lift .
@tuonouk6896 I've rarely complained of braking power on my FJR (keeping in mind that they're trying to haul down 650lbs plus me), but the more other bikes I ride, I become more aware of the lack of communication. Definitely better than the Royal Enfield it replaced, but certainly not great.
Hey Fagen. Would be great content if you got one of these to modify. Add some trick bits. See how it goes on track, like what you guys are doing with R1. looking forward to the next R1 update/BBB 😃
I'll wait for the R9 how it looks, my wife and I both need new bikes. I was settled on the KTM 990 Duke and for her the MT09 SP. But now KTM comes with the RC 990 and Yamaha with the R9, I'll wait for both of these and see if I can get a sport/naked combo instead of a naked/naked.
Hopefully seeing them now here in the UK means they'll start delivering them to customers soon. Been delayed for months, some engine recall issue, apparently.
I have a 22 MT10 and was about to px it for a 24 MT09, now I've seen the SP it's actually halted me going ahead because next year it's now inevitable that there will be a MT10 update with Brembo and we'll be laughing
If you brought over Neevsy and Northover to 44teeth, my god… I will probably never watch another RUclips channel again. Definitely need them on as special guests!
I test rode the standard model last week and I have to say, compared to my '21 model it feels less meaty in the midrange. Maybe due to a smaller airbox to accommodate the flatter tank? Anyone else noticed this?
Keyless ignition is a massive turnoff, especially if you’re on track. The dash is too small. The exhaust and front end look horrible. Apart from that, not bad.
a cup of salat fullfiled with pork&beef minced meet , plus extra corn , double cheese of cracked old gouda , bread with herbs overall mustard-juice ...so for me it doesn't matter if you drive in the rain 😁 dry or wet you are my idols 🥱

stay tuned for more self pleasure tips from Al next week.
Pride month is over he has to do something. He's already put his pride leathers away until next June.

Fagan eats cold beans from the tin with a spoon
Yup
Has the stained underwear to prove it too 👍
A man of class just like me
What I don’t get is why the 900GP isn’t based on the SP. It’s supposed to be the sporty model so give it better brakes and suspension
Well he’s not exactly going to use a fork is he? 🤷🏽♂️
I love this new MT09, especially in these SP colors its just perfect.
Thanks for uploading the MT 09 SP. I've been waiting for someone to upload the SP version as it's possible for my next purchase
19:58 obligatory R9 mention, nice. I'm just waiting for the reveal, and hoping for a release in Q1 2025 like the KTM 990 RC R. Excited for these two !!
Same! Can't wait for these 2 before I make a decision, R9, MT09SP or KTM Duke 990, RC990R
@@tubejorrit same issue but also considering the mv brutale as well in addition the the listed.
@@michaelfrock2473 Brutale is to small for me and I've riden an older model a few years back and the throttle response was horrible.
i literally bought the 21sp off the back of Boothy's review and loved every second of the bike
30,000 Km on mine and I have no desire to trade it in yet. Great all rounder and fun.
My silly bottom thinking "was there an MT-21?"

Thanks for answering my questions, might see about taking a 765 out. 👍🏻
Great riding I do like the look of it... very aggressive look - keep up the amazing content

What are you talking about every review mentions it starting with the Tracer 9GT+
The Triumph 765rs does that beautifully.
So does Honda's e-clutch....

Me too 😊
Missing you guys on this channel you take too long to put new content out and we love to see you both, peace. Nice bike 🤤🤤🤤
Have a 24 non SP and love it
what a beautiful bike 😍
I love the motardiness of my 890r , just a racey monster with dirt bike heritage, just love the bloody thing
Totally agree! Good call.

I went to a Triumph new bikes launch one time, it was a lot of fun. Great food! 😊
A Yamaha with decent brakes for the first time ever , is this the end of the tradition wooden brake feel for their bikes ?
Let’s hope so!
Didn't you ride the bike? Did it still feel wooden?

Finaly! A 2024 sp on the road
that is the best looking of the models

Love the vid! Fagan - you sir, are feckin brilliant!!! Where was that runway?

15c in the height of summer sounds lovely.
First look , it looked like a Honda 650 Bross 😊 but looks a brilliant machine 👏 👍
I have my order in over here in Australia. Hopefully the end of the month.
The SP looks so much better than the standard version
Mine is supposed to arrive in September 😄
That exhaust looks like a tumour!
Just get us the R9 please. Im sick of waiting.
Hopefully the R9 is this good !!
Yamaha nailed it with this one absolutely smashed it.
The XSR900GPSP is going to be good

Hell with these riding reviews, more reading of the PDF !
Fancy calipers but, still rubber hoses?
yeah shame isn't it. needs steel braded hoses to make it a proper competitor for the street RS
765 rs still win hands down very good in track confidence and more road connection but value for money SP takes it
Finally Yamaha put some decent callipers on!
I will patiently wait for the Eicma motorcycle show before making a final decision on the MT-09 SP, as the R9 is likely to be showcased there.
Any way to make the bike look better?

Great review as always...
This or Street Triple?
Edit: It would appear it was a top question asked watching through the whole video....
Fucking love you boys. Bout t8me we had a jhs vid also
I've not done beans yet, but i do cold tinned rice pudding
Knob Fest....🏁🏁🏁
Hoping an R9 appears soon
that exhaust ... is it from a DAF truck designer?
Ey up pal, it's a really smart jacket is that- where abouts did you get it from and what's it called please? :-)
RST Havoc 🤙

I don't care for a swingarm and frame being different colors... It has a parts bin look to it
I do like the face lift and not only because the other one was so bad. hopefully they evolve this design instead of switching it up completely again.
I’ve got a 21 model SP and it’s over sprung at the rear and under sprung at the front. Have Yamaha revised the spring rates on the 24 model?
Did they give any information on why this gets the full Brembo package and keyless ignition but the MT 10 does not?
I test rode the standard model last week and I have to say, compared to my '21 model it feels less meaty in the midrange. Maybe due to a smaller airbox to accommodate the flatter tank? Anyone else noticed this?
15...... that's winter in Auckland new Zealand
What gloves are you wearing? They look pretty nice. 👍
Marigolds - and you?
They are RST Fulcrum CE gloves. Have have the same ones and I can confirm they are really comfortable
Keyless ignition is a massive turnoff, especially if you’re on track. The dash is too small. The exhaust and front end look horrible. Apart from that, not bad.
Is it worth double the price of a 2012 Speed Triple R with Ohlins? I’ve been thinking about switching Triple’s…
How does it compare to the other "SP" - I mean the Monster SP?
The blipper dont come on standard model ? Ive seen that its on base model to maybe im wrong
I actually really enjoy my keyless ignition/fuel cap. Had my ktm from new in 2018 with zero issues.
vs. 990 Duke?
at 9min mark about the wooden brakes
Still wonder if the MT09 platform would be suitable as a supersport bike, considering the rumors about a future release of a R9 model..
Yamaha announced R9 is replacing the R1 for 2025.
Yes but will have the longer tracer swingarm like the xsr for better handling
Would you get this over a 22/23 950sp?
That bike man, fuck
Is it worth trading in a 2023 MT10 for the MT09SP 2024?
Thank god it’s Fagan 💪🏻😎👍🏻 and not the knob 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
What jacket is that?
Do you think this setup will be on the R9

New lid nige ?
For the price, close to ideal as you can get.
Just lacks a decent fuel capacity, and has ever since 2014.
