    The CP3 to me is the perfect unicorn street motor of not too much and not too little and doesn't require you revving out pretty high like an inline 4 to have fun. Looking forward to the R9 myself after having a MT10 now, the MT10 is fun but there's times it's just too much power to enjoy and i'm kinda tired of fighting winds at high speed riding.

    Always drop everything to watch any new content on the SP, Infamas. Top job again. 👌
    I’ve only had mine since mid September and only have 500 miles on it, so I’m arguably still running it in.
    However, I like to think I’m now riding it with ‘enthusiasm, but tamed by the handbook’ !!
    I’m unlikely to do an exhaust & tune until at least next Spring - we’re going into winter here in the UK with snow today,😳 but my fuel consumption is a million miles different from yours.
    The SP is by some margin the most economical bike I’ve owned in the last 15 years.
    (S1000RR, R1M, CB1000R, CBR1000SP Fireblade)
    60 mpg (imperial) is the WORST I’ve seen on quite precise tank to tank fill ups, while keeping it below about 6500 revs...
    I can only assume the tune is responsible, as I appreciate how lean they run from the factory…
    I’m surprised you haven’t felt the need to adjust the suspension - the front fork compression damping in particular.
    As standard, I think the front end is constantly following every bump in the road, rather than absorbing them.
    I’ve set mine to almost the complete opposite of the factory settings.
    Just a few ramblings I thought I’d share with you and your subscribers.
    Keep up the good work buddy.
    PS. You’ll get NO cons from me - I’m really chuffed with mine !!
    PPS. Why the helmet at all times ?

    • @INFAMAS
      @INFAMAS  Месяц назад +2

      Thanks for the great comment!
      What did you change on your forks particularly, if you remember? I'll try it and see how I go!
      I keep the helmet on for privacy really, too much bike theft etc these days

    • @Maverick-moto
      @Maverick-moto Месяц назад +2

      @@INFAMAS I respect your desire for privacy good buddy👍
      I’ve only found the need to adjust the FRONT suspension.. the Ohlins rear shock is set up pretty well from the factory in my humble opinion, for an average weight rider. (70-80kgs)
      At the base of each fork leg there are two adjusters - a gold hex head and ‘within’ it, a silver 4mm Allen bolt.
      The latter adjusts the low speed compression damping - in other words, for normal road undulations rather than abrupt / severe bumps.
      If you turn that 4mm Allen bolt clockwise on each leg, you’ll feel it click as you turn it.
      It’s likely to take 8 clicks until it reaches a stop. That stop is the full hard setting.
      In other words, the factory setting is around 8 clicks out from full hard.
      However, it has a range of adjustment of around 23 or 24 clicks to play with.
      From within the first 20 miles of owning mine, I’ve run that compression damping at 18 clicks out from full hard….
      I’m confident that once you’ve tried that sort of setting, you won’t go back.
      The improvement in ride comfort with no loss of handling precision is most noticeable in my opinion.
      I’ll be interested in your feedback if you try it.. 👍

    Had my GEN 4 SP since 1 September done 2700 miles always got 55 miles to gallon just put a red power scorpion exhaust on so I'll wait and see the difference similar to yours but not as loud but the tune wll definitely drink more fuel. Also just got the Yamaha comfort seat looks great and definitely more comfortable would recommend and just buy the rider seat it's cheaper.

    re fuel: I have the "23 sp. It has been flashed by kevmod but still has standard pipe. I'm 80kg without gear. I recently had a week in Queenstown doing a 200km hilly, tight twisty circuit hard riding. Every day it was 20km / litre. The tune I have is with a performance pipe so yet to test that.

    I'm not a beginner, last road bike I had was a 2013ish FJR 1300; but I've not ridden for the last few years due to medical issues. I enjoy longer rides, so mpg is important to me. What did you say it was before the upgraded pipe & tune? 200? Is that 200 miles per tank?

    I think it's annoying how this bike at least for me requires instant money put on it the second you take it out of the dealership. The seat is just awful, one of the worst seats I've ever sat on. I have a CBR1000RR and the seat is way more comfortable, like a lot more, it's wider, it has more cushioning and allows you to ride for a long time. The Mt09 is supposed to be a comfortable every day bike that can be taken to the twisty roads but the terrible seat makes it a terrible daily rider and a bad bike for long rides. I'd rather ride my cbr to work and on long trips just because of that. Also this is completely personal but the CP3 engine is quite meh for me, I don't like the sound and the "usable power" that people talk about all the time is just for people who haven't tried a 1000cc. My bike at 5000-6000rpm which doesn't take long at all to reach is already more power than I need for the road. The excuse that there's no torque down low and that all the power is at the top is just not true.

    • @INFAMAS
      @INFAMAS  Месяц назад +1

      I have rode plenty of 1000s, R1Ms, ZX10Rs, MT-10s, but this bike just feels funner in the street. You aren't going well over the speed limit when you reach the power. You can use it more in the street without breaking all the laws.
      As for the seat, it's way better than the Gen 2 MT-09 seat, I think it's pretty good and don't intend to change it unless I go on a longer ride.

    Why pay for fully adjustable suspension and NOT use it? Do you drive a car in the same seat setting as your partner? Did you change the position of your mirrors? You do realise the biggest negative for this bike it’s you, the rider. Learn how to adjust the suspension and then start talking. Don’t look at seat replacement when you have the suspension waiting to be adjusted. Fuel economy after 5,000 kilometres and you have no idea? 3rd one…. Your own opinion and you’ve asked AI? Which doesn’t know what sort of rider you are? Expensive is subjective. Biggest con, is you. Go back to school and learn to do something with your life!

    • @INFAMAS
      @INFAMAS  Месяц назад +1

      Bro, relax, jesus 😂
      The suspension out of the box is already 1000x better than factory Yamaha suspension.
      I also didn't buy the SP for the suspension, but it is a big bonus, and adjusting it isn't going to make the seat foam any softer.
      Learn to be a kinder person bro. That's my advice, take it or leave it.

    • @marcusgeorge1825
      @marcusgeorge1825 Месяц назад

      @ You said it’s too expensive. So, as it’s just a suspension upgrade and front brake callipers upgrades then why didn’t you just save your money, buy the standard one and then spend money on learning more about the art of motorcycling…. So you become a better rider and better individual as you will soon learn how much you really don’t know. See, some kind words coming from someone who’s been riding longer than your time on the planet. I always want new people to motorbikes to become better and ultimately safer. As I was young and uneducated myself regarding two wheels and didn’t know it at the time. My apologies if I’ve upset you bro. To improve rider comfort try reducing the compression and rebound settings by 2 clicks and this will also make for a more comfortable ride without needing to swap seats. You only needs these stiffened up for aggressive riding and track duties. ☺️
