@@TiltonRD duh... I know not everyone bought it for the minifig. Obviously. 650 bucks is a lot of money. But some people did. And I am laughing at them.
They released two 501st Battle Packs in the last four years. Makes zero sense that Lego wouldn’t make Rex in a more affordable set considering that Army Builders are probably going to want a Rex for their 501st Army.
And it also made sense for them to put fives as an anniversary figure in the tantive IV set. Say what you will about him, it's nice we got a figure of him. Here's to hoping we get Echo and Jesse sometime, maybe even kix
I kinda think it’s funny too tbh 😂 like who wants to be lied too and sold on something saying it’s exclusive in a $650 set, and then a few months later it comes out for $13.
I think it’s a little overblown how big of a deal it is, but I do at least understand where they’re coming from. More like a rant than a review. It was exclusive for a time being (not to mention Yularen is still exclusive). Look at Funko Pops, they say exclusive to whatever retailer they're exclusive to, yet can be found at other places such as smaller shops. A pop can say Only At Target and yet can be found at a comic shop or end up at a Marshalls. Looks at video games, they may say "only for this specific console" yet can get ported later on in the future. It's also ironically hardly anyone complained about UCS Luke becoming a keychain, barely anyone complained about the P1 Commander in the UCS Gunship being featured in a Advent Calender, yet when Rex gets in a cheap set, everyone loses their marbles. Also, in the end, it’s a plastic toy. Yes, they make sets for adults, but in the end, they’re a children’s toy company first.
This isnt me hating or whatever but in the instructions manual, lego never said that the either of the minifigures would be exclusive hoing forward only that they were exclusive at that time. They never said that there were no plans to re-release them so really the instructions were right as for the past 8 months, the minifigures have been exclusive
The word exclusive and the designers recent comments imply exactly that: exclusivity. LEGO commonly has exclusive figures that stay exclusive, stated so or not.

@MandRproductions, we all know what exclusive means, but exclusivity only applies to the object at the time, and for a time, it was exclusive, but through demand, and lack of buyers lego made rex more available. Is he still exclusiv? No. Is it ridiculous to assume he would stay exclusive to the venator? Yes, it is ridiculous to assume or think that.
I could be pedantic and say that the Captain Rex figure was exclusive to that set when it came out. Nothing in that copy says it would be exclusive forever. Exclusive doesn’t necessarily mean exclusive for all time and in perpetuity. It was technically true when the set was released. You can be mad about it, but if you bought a massive $650 set for a little two inch toy figure, that’s really on you. I think it’s fantastic that Rex is available in a very cheap set. I’m going to buy four.
They'll be on shelves at the same time though. And Lego plans ahead way further than the 7 months so they knew this was releasing when the Venator released. I personally don't think it's that big a deal.

I love this set because the Rex minifig is so nice and affordable as it should be. I don’t care about what Lego said about it’s exclusivity; some people just need to get with the times and accept the fact that thousands of kids will have this minifig for their collection and play.
Bought the Venator because I wanted the Venator, exclusive Rex was a bonus. I'm a little annoyed that the figure I was told would be exclusive will no longer be, and if anything I just want my book to be accurate. However, I'm also ok with Rex being available for a much more accessible price point, I want a couple more to sit in different parts of my collection and wasn't going to pay the exclusive tax to get them. I'd feel better about it if the Rex in the new set was not quite the same - missing the band aid, or the arm printing for example.
@pixlhound yea, people can't understand that we just wanted to have Venator rex exclusive to that set... No issue with different variant in normal, cheap set but the same one? Lego has just laughed at collectors

@@THEONETRUEOVERLORD Yknow, i'd argue against this, a lot of the time in media you see "only in theaters" just for the movie to release in streaming later "exclusive coverage" in the news only for it to be covered by other stations, sure if this set released like, 4 to 6 months earlier i'd have no problem with people complaining give the context, hell i'd i would even join in but after a while, exclusivity isn't perpetuos, could have they worded it better yes, but the level of complaints reached too high a level, and for the wrong reasons.
Second, i don't care the subject i'm defending, if i believe in something's innocence i'll deffend it, just like i would for any other one(also i hate corporate executives, but i belive this was something either writen by the designer, or the team behind instructions, not a deceptive marketing team or greedy executive, if that was the case i would complain just as i did with the price hikes).

I hope lego makes a regular seized scale version of Rex's Y-wing.
If they do, it has to include Jesse, that would be amazing
this should've been a 3 minute video
You can talk to legos instruction writers lol
@@MandRproductions Surely a separate Rex Rant video would just be more views for you, right?
Lego SW fans after spending $650 for a Captain Rex minifigure: You can’t do this to me, YOU KNOW HOW MUCH I HAVE SACRIFICED
Scalpers when they can’t punch a child for taking a Capn Rex microfighter off the shelf: 😡😡😡
I swear, I’ve heard that quote somewhere…
The cope is insane
I see no bad news here.
I love your mad about losing out on your Rex sales thru whatnot. Sorry but I’m on Lego side for this one
When I was a kid, I used to think you were cool.
Same. But then we had one opinion that was different!
@@MandRproductionsyeah you become a reselling scalper. And now your butt hurt over people being able to to get Rex for cheap. I wish Lego would remake all Lego sets so you couldn’t scalpe
Couldn’t have said it better Mandr has fallen from a good creator to another douchey reseller
@@MandRproductionsno dude it’s a barrage over time of nonstop victimization and childish entitled complaints. But sure 😊 teehee it’s my video haters hate la la stay in delusion land
Why would you buy a $600 set JUST for captain rex?
Nobody did that, straw man argument.
@@MandRproductions AskMandR: if Lego never became a thing what do u think ur job would be now?
I could spend 350 for both the build and yulrean, literally a scam from Lego
its not about buying a 650 dollar set for a 100 dollar figure, its about the set you bought for 650 dollar now has 100 dollar less value. I dont know, why so many people are not understanding this^^ Also, i know some people who sold this figure to finance the set and get it 100 dollar cheaper.
@@gag-dodgers He was going to go to college, I can't remember what for. His Lego was the college fund and he got attached
"exclusive" was never clearly defined. Seems those who are outraged just made an assumption it meant "indefinitely exclusive".
LEGO could be more clear sure, but there are bigger fish to fry.
I am all for this set. I love Captain Rex, but I couldn't afford to get him in the Venator. And the figure was exclusive when the Venator came out. So, from a certain point of view, LEGO didn't lie. Plus at least Yularen is still exclusive. Also I guess it's an unpopular opinion, but I love Microfighters. A cheap way to get a decent build that comes with usually a good figure and doesn't require too much room. Perfect.
I dont think this guy realizes that he got a 4 foot long venator model with his $650 Captain Rex figure
If we want to get really technical, the figure WAS exclusive to the UCS Venator at the time. They never said it would stay exclusive.
If you dont like what Lego is doing with its Toys , then why are you still collecting the stuff, get a real job then 😒🙄
If you think it’s just a toy why are you watching?
@@MandRproductions its a toy what else is it gold ??
You clearly have never collected in your life otherwise you'd understand the real gold is in brand, go get ready for your 9-5 😂

I missed Rex in 2013 and now I'm not going to. Who cares if it was supposed to be exclusive, Rex should be affordable to masses
F for those who bought Venator just for this one
I'm glad that you mentioned the rangefinder falling out. They "had to" add the helmet holes there, but they couldn't even be bothered to make the rangefinders fit like they did in all of the other old helmets with holes. And it's not even like they just don't turn very well. I have a 501st officer whose rangefinder just slides itself out if I leave it to sit for a few minutes.
That sucks. I hope you can find a solution. If not then I suggest swapping out his helmet for one of the troopers in the Grogu's escape set, since they have the exact same helmet
Glad that you opened the video with a flashback to 8 months ago, it annoys me seeing many fools try to make out that you're overly annoyed at this set because... *insert wackjob reddit theory here*.
I'm glad that an official Rex figure costs less than 20 bucks for the first time since like 2017l
I assume everyone is pretending that I somehow thought LEGO wouldn’t put a Rex in a cheaper set but I literally said it 😂 the truth doesn’t matter though if you don’t like me you can just make stuff up and people believe it.
Honestly, I may do that as well. Have a rex for my 501st army and another for my 332nd army
@Specter_Design So it's no longer exclusive then, making the book inaccurate... as I said.
Lol you mad.
@@stipkovich15 lol... you can't read
@pixlhound yea, people can't understand that we just wanted to have Venator rex exclusive to that set... No issue with different variant in normal, cheap set but the same one? Lego has just laughed at collectors
Its exclusive till it's not. Movie trailers sometimes say exclusively in theater's. Then it eventually shows up elsewhere.
He was exclusive when the Venator came out. He's not now. Noone lied. Now everyone can have a Rex without being scalped for $50+.
What do you think the word exclusive implies? Because “exclusive for 8 months” ain’t it.
I really don't get all the hate scalpers receive. They're a vital part in the LEGO community, if not for them investing their money the lego community would fall pretty hard.
For instance... Billy Bob goes out and buys a lego set now and sets it aside... Ken is unable to buy it at the moment. Fast forward ⏩ three years Ken now has the funds 💰 for it but the set has retired so he goes on Bricklink and is able to purchase the set from Billy Bob. BOOM 💥 both sides win 🤙
Minifigs are exclusive/unique to a set until they are not. I feel like its always been like that
People like this and LEGO scalpers are why I'm proud of owning the microfighter, because I know they don't want me to own it or Rex
Bro, why are you complaining? You say all this shit for years about "Oh, sought-after figs shouldn't be exclusive to expensive sets, a lot of fans won't be able to get them". Then you turn around and say "bUT tHEy SAiD It wAs ExcLUsIvE!" Make up your mind already
You are confusing what one designer said for me on the first instance. That is almost word for word what the UCS Gunship designer said.
@@MandRproductionseh, all that matters to me is that all the morons who bought the Venator just to sell the Rex for 100's of dollars can't get away with it anymore
Moving the goal post I see lmao fair enough
The UCS Interceptor instructions also say that the TIE Pilot minifig is exclusive to that set. I wonder how that will end up.
It will stay exclusive because it’s not a clone trooper 😬
It is nice having Rex in a cheaper set. But having the Venator it is quite upsetting paying for the Venator and getting Rex who WAS worth quite a bit but is now available in a micro fighter.
Wow, somebody's angry 😂
The set is sold out everywhere

Now they have it on sale for a few dollars off in a shop near me lol
YES!! I AM SO EXCITED!!! I love your videos and when you post things like this, it makes my day :D

Of LEGO
Not many people talk about the blaster pistols, I'm personally just not a fan of the route lego went for Rex and Fox's blaster pistols. They look very out of place for the clones. I miss the old black and grey pistols like the phase 1 Rex came with in his AT-TE set.
Honestly those ones were goated, and super clean looking. They even work for other themes too, I’ve used a few of them in my WW1 mockups
Even if it was supposed to be an exclusive Rex I wouldn’t have spent over 600 dollars just cuz Rex was in it if I’m spending that kind of money on Lego it’s strictly for the build not the figures, in my opinion anyone who the expensive set just cuz of one little mini figure regardless of who it is, is just not smart with their money
I find it funny how Lego doesn’t like to make the most accurate molds they can, yet they made a new pauldron when it would have been cheaper for them to use the older pauldron’s shape
