The "spinny thing for kids" is incredible, it uses an elves gem piece to replicate a holographic star destroyer, with a red plate used to represent a star destroyer going offline, presumably due to damage. While it could be considered a play feature, I think more adults would appreciate it for being so small and accurate.
I'm very happy that LEGO made a Star Destroyer after 10 years but I think they should went with Thrawn's Chimera, just imagine a damaged ISD with gold pieces - such a unqiue look and an opportunity for some great minifigures.
Agreed. That’s why I want this set as a stand-in for the Chimaera, but I’m also just tempted get a used First Order Star Destroyer because that has some more detail to it.

I think compare JUST the sets called imperial star destroyer, there is only like 4 of them. but the other guy said including light cruiser which is ok because they are not very different and people may want to see the size difference between the 2.
3:14 EXACTLY. In Fallen Order (the clear inspiration for the fig as opposed to Survivor), Cal can wear a poncho or a jacket, which is still on the poncho menu. Cal's fig is quite clearly wearing the jacket instead of a poncho, so the figure is as accurate as can be. I do wish they just printed his outfit (with no jacket) and then had a poncho accessory but the figure is still accurate and I'm sick of people saying it isn't
I bought this at a lego store with my friend and he said he accidentally dropped it while building it with 4 bags left and he said only 7 pieces fell off, really goes to show how well built this thing is
This is actually the same Star Destroyer as the 2019 UCS Devastator model. You can tell because it comes with commander Prajy. An imperial officer present in A New Hope when Darth Vader boards the Tantive IV. As well as the box art having the first Death Star on it. I really like that they went with the Devastator.
This is my favorite set for this year but an extra stormtrooper would gone a long way, and just so you know the blue thing that spins is 100% a holotable.
Meh, its a $160 set with 7 minifigs which is better than modern SW Lego sets of that cost range. The only modern exception is the Yavin Base set with 10 figs + 2 droids... But that was a $170 set with just 1066 pieces, so the set budget was skewed to the minifigs. - Dark Falcon $180 - 6 figs - Onyx Cinder $140 - 5 figs - Ghost & Phantom II $160 - 4 figs (+1 droid) - Coruscant Gunship $140 - 5 figs Overall, I think 7 minifigs is a good spot to land on, and the choice of figs is good as well. Most collectors probably don't want another Darth Vader, but it is understandable that it is there for the more casual crowd to pick up.

In the Netherlands you get a new style box with a lid and all paper bags. Maybe that is why this set is more expensive in the eurozone: 170€ and yes that is overpriced
I know people might not like this but I personally think the stormtroopers look pretty good and I like them. I may be a bit one sided because I don’t own any old ones but I don’t mind. Also, the not being able to turn their head must be intentional, because isn’t it a joke that they can’t see anything in their helmets.

When he mentioned that in the UCS star destroyer review he said it dose not mean we are getting a UCS AT AT and yet we got one, wonder if Lego will do the same thing and give us a new AT AT, maybe the red and black one we see in the re-build the galaxy trailer or something to that extent.

cal is definitely a good inclusion with this set because he works with the set as well as being a good 25th-anniversary figure just wish they could've made that mantis from the game that included him instead of making him the one-off figure from this set do you think this effects the chances of a future mantis set
The panel in the back is for extra spring loaded shooters(darts) and the blue thing is supposed to be a hologram for a ship fight. Kind of like the ones they have in the clone wars
I have one kislux bag I got in 2019, it's the LV white catogram speedy. It's counter quality and it has a nice honey patina now, so the leather is real. I think whatever makes you happy go for it. I've seen LV with plastic leather and blood red glaze...
I wanted to know the dimensions to see if this could fit in my display _and then_ I remembered that you have the same Billy shelves as I! So now I know I’ll have to get creative.
I think becuase of its smaller stature they should have released it as a vindicator class cruiser and removed Darth Vader and replaced him with the ISB agent from Rebels. #1 I think it would have made more sense as I feel like the August release was more of an EU and goofy release for cool ideas they had, and #2 its much smaller than the previous star destroyers so I think that removing 2 turbo lasers from each side and calling it a vindicator would make a lot of Eu fans happy. Or maybe they should have made a prosecutor class star destroyer. its smaller than a normal ISD, and we havent had a set of it before, it could come with someone like Admiral Konstantine or even Admiral Piet. Just put a gun in the middle of the ship, get rid of Darth vader and voila it would be a lot cooler.

The most recent playscale star destroyer was ten years ago tho… and it’s really not that much bigger. I think the size is ok considering the amount of downsizing on some other star wars sets recently
Before release, they were advertising it through lego content creators that they were using a new 2 peice box design that would fold down, its a shame they never released it with the public sets.
I have the UCS Star Destroyer and I bought this to display next to it as a Victory Star Destroxer, will also modify the belly to feature the hatch, its gonna look pretty sick next to mx UCS ISD
Back in 2014 when I was 7 I always dreamed about the older Star Destroyer and AT-AT. I always watched them in a Lego catalog. Also the Star Destroyer was in an animation series what I really liked. In 2022 I got the new AT-AT (2020) and I looking forward to get this set.

I did like the detail inside and the figs are good. (wish there was at least one more Stormtrooper) I agree, it was really small. I did like the design just wish it was a bit bigger.

My only minor complaint with this set is Cal not having a poncho or BD-1 but otherwise it’s a great set I would pick up for 20% off down the line
