The market is also flooded with overpriced minifigures that are exclusive to sets, and all because they added one detail that wasn't there before, it's ridiculous. I want that Invisible Hand because it's never been made before, and will make for an excellent addition to my Invasion of Coruscant display, not because it came with Grievous with an exclusive cape or a remake of Count Dooku (even if it has been 10 years since he last appeared). I'll still happily receive minifigures, but also say that if the Invisible Hand included Grievous and/or Dooku, I wouldn't be surprised at a $10 price hike, which can very easily make a set too much for me when my real attention is on a ship they can't even fit in or I can't really use elsewhere in my collection. I'm not one to buy and sell figures free of sets, it's all or nothing, which I'm sure is really stupid to some people, but superfluous minifigures is also how you get things like Fives and Malak in sets that don't even relate to them, and they're going to be very expensive in the aftermarket. If you don't think the same would happen, even with appropriately themed figures in these Starship Collection sets, you don't know just how nuts things can get.
Wholeheartly agree! I want these sets for the build, not a slapped on minifigure. People feel too mini figure crazy tbh, the builds are the heart and soul of lego
I know they’re more expensive for the size of ship you’re getting, but for me the detail makes up for it. For me, these sets are perfect, exactly what I want in a display model series
I haven't been collecting Lego since I was a child with the original Star Wars line. But these sets brought me back, starting with the Tie Bomber and later Nebulon B Frigate. I picked up the Tantive IV and Executor as well, these are perfect scale for shelf display. On my radar are The Invisible Hand, and the tantive IV hallway. I've always wanted Rebel fleet troopers since I was a kid, and displaying one of them on the stand of the Tantive IV starship would be perfect.
These ships all look excellent. I'm definitely going to pick up one or two of them in the future. I'd love to see them do midi-scales of the Death Star, Home One, The First Order Star Destroyer, The Venator-Class Cruiser (So I won't need to pay $500). Poe's X-Wing...Starkiller Base maybe? And maybe the Trade Federation Control ship!
As someone getting back into Lego, I would LOVE for these to come with a minifig or two related to each ship. Doesn't even need to be a unique version.
You perfectly summed up everything I love and dislike about these sets!!! So much so that I bought my own extra Minifigures to go with the sets bc I’m a collector and I wanted it to look good. Honestly it looks amazing with the Minifigures added
I think LEGO is finally waking up and realizing the want that fans have for the prequel era. They've released an AT-TE, Corasaunt Guard Gunship, 3 clone battle packs(including the super battle pack), the midi invisible hand(which needs to have a UCS version) and a UCS Venator
I have restarted my addiction. I loved Lego as a kid and used to buy play sets after weeks of saving up pocket money. Just bought the midi falcon on sale after 15 years of buying nothing. Straight after building I bought a ucs xwing on sale too😂😂
Think the acclamator would be more ideal at this scale and would pair nicely in scale with the UCS Venator. But a venator at midi would be nice as well.
The head of the Tantive does look like it might be a hair too small, but the next size up i think may rnd up being too big. Definitely agree, they should be coming with mini figs.
If the retail price was $5 more per ship and came with one notable character and one notable trooper or droid, so you could display them on each side of the stand, these sets would go from being great to legendary.
You could argue the same about helmet collection - why didn't they include a figure there if each helmet is linked to a specific character? I am a person who doesn't care as much about minifigs - I prefer the builds. And if that series meant bumping the price for another $5-$10 only to include the minifig - hard pass. Not every set has to have a minifig. On another topic - I will not stop saying that: why are your videos so silent?
I think the point being made here though, is that at the price point they are already marketing them at, they should have a figure. Plus, if you don't care for the minifigures, it's perfect - a lot of people specifically want them. Selling them on recoups a lot more of your money than you would save by not having them at all.
I totally agree. Way too many of these RUclipsrs are obsessed with minifigures and just need them in every set. I like them too but not every set needs them. Sets like these are meant as display items for adult collectors to put on a shelf or a desk. They don't need figures to go with them
I always wanted to get the original midi falcon because I love that scale & I'm so happy to have the new one that's so much cooler. Really pumped for the return of midi scale. That set kickstarted my lego renaissance.
I loved the planet series back then still have all 12 sets on display. However while these midi scale ships are beautiful, the lack of a minifigure and the usage of stickers can't justify the price.
Personally, I want more of these! They’re good to display, they’re good to zoom, the price isn’t exhaustive. Of course I want them cheaper, of course I want my pick a bricks to be cheaper- but realistically, THESE are the Star Wars sets I want to own and purchase :)
As a fully grown adult, sheepishly buying my first Lego set since childhood, I don't think I'd have done it if there was a minifigure attached. Without one I can just about convince myself I'm model building rather than playing with toys 😆. My guess is Lego are being pretty savvy by doing this. I can't be the only one - an adult at an age where there is disposable income, prone to nostalgia and teetering on embarrassment about it. They know exactly what they're doing. Absolutely loved making the Falcon.
I agree needs a figure for each one or even 2. I love Lego and in cost of living times want excellent value for money. Come on Lego do your bit for the fans and give us want we want so we can afford it!! Lego got my through covid 19 with my mental health.
Really hoping they eventually make a UCS invisible hand that's to scale of the venator.. Would love to see them side by side on display since I'm much more into the prequel ships over flat grey designs of things like the ATAT, death star, star destroyer, etc.
As someone not particularly interested in this line of sets, I'm torn on including a figure. On one hand, it would be nice, but on the other hand I think it very much limits what ships can be made. Take the Invisible Hand for instance, if this line were to include a figure in each set, then all the pieces for General Grevious would need to be brought back after not having been in production since 2021. Because of the nature of the figure, it would inflate the price quite a bit. Additionally, for potential ships in this line like a Venator, Luserhulk, or Mon Calamari Cruiser, a new figure would need to be made. I really don't see Lego making a new figure and using up alloted prints on it rather than using it for some printed pieces on the actual ship, so cool ideas for ships would not get made. In the end, it would just end up with getting figures that came in other sets as the bonus figure in question (look at the Captain America's shield or Thor's hammer, both came with figures that were not exclusive, albeit the Thor figure did debut in the hammer.) Figures would be neat bonuses but in my opinion, I think they are simply not fit for this line of sets
I love the idea of this line. Smaller sets of popular ships are great and I'd love to get several, I just don't have any desire to get any of the ships they've made sets of so far.
The fact this has the first invincible hand blows my mind it feels like an obvious play set scale Though I think a UCS set to mirror the venator would be awesome since we are in dire need for more Also a CIS HMP droid gunship to mirror the LAAT
Mine are being delivered tomorrow. Price is the price, that’s the cost of being a Lego fan. But I agree, they need mini figures. Luckily I have extras sitting from other sets and I’m gonna use what you did and display them with mini figs
I just use my existing figs, Han for my Falcon, Vader for my executor, etc. My friends buy cheap off-hand figs because *it's on a shelf, you won't see it up close anyway*
Ships I'd love to see in the future: The Chimera a Venator Luckerhulk Home one The Malevolence Resurgence class Star destroyer And maybe even the supremacy
I was 100% convinced you were going to say that the problem was 'scale'. In that they are all completely different scales from each other. To me, I'd want to make a fleets (Republic, Imperial etc) out of these, and it just doesn't work when the scale between them is all over the place. Personally, I don't miss the mini in these sets.
I disagree, we all bought these for the build, just like the USC Venator. I mean sure, the minifigures were a big deal to get in that, especially Rex, but people who bought the Venator for the Venator too. And also, let's say it's about the minifigures more than the build. So what? Is it a crime to buy something for the minifigures? Personally, I bought one of these sets and I really wish it would have had a minifigure, I would have happily paid more...@@Montyh7
I truly do not care about minifigures in these. They’re not scaled with minifigures in mind at all, and the whole point of sets in this scale is to provide an interesting building experience at a more affordable price. Including minifigures would most definitely bump the price of each of these sets up at least another $5 and I don’t see the point for just having the guy who owns the ship standing next to it
I don’t care about the prices, I love building smaller starships packed with detail. The millennium falcon is my favorite, you can actually fly it around with one hand, instead of carefully handling a play set scale version.
one figure would be so cool, but I can't see LEGO going back on it now as it would create a divide in the collection. Microfighters and planet sets remain the goats of this format
these sets would’ve been the perfect opportunity to sort of give us the figures we would only see in a cmf without actually giving us a cmf. considering that when i eventually get these i’m going to be using figures to display it with i think they should have figures with them.
I totally agree with you and the fact these sets don’t come with a minifig or pair in the case of the Millennium Falcon (given the price) it’s a pass for me.
Agreed! Minifigures should have come with the Starship collection! When the Midiscale Executor turned up I added a Darth Vader and have subsequently added Capt Antilles to the Tantive IV. My plan is to add a Gen Grievous to the Invisible Hand and a Han Solo and Chewbacca to the Falcon. LEGO could have included a minifigure for each at minimal extra cost thus improving sales.
Printed vs. sticker elements will simply come down to forecast sales numbers - the Falcon is forecast to sell more (long term), so they allow more budget for its production. Don't care about the figures other than General Grievous because I don't have him - have multiple of every other characters (can't even estimate how many Darth Vader figures I have at this point!) so I can put them on if I want to - but I find that figures on display sets actually detract from the display aesthetics. Most mini-figures are not actually that great to look at - they are after all designed primarily for kids to play with - whereas the display sets are not for play. For me, any figures I get in a set invariably just end up in a big box with all my other figures.
I can only hope high demand for the invisible hand means we'll get a larger scale one in the future. I could readily see this as an excellent $150-$250 large playscale set. If there is ever a UCS version, I'm kind of hoping it's around half the size of the venator but with neat internal details taking notes from the Razor Crest; the UCS venator is far too big, imo, and the lack of any neat interior lessens its appeal to me as a collector item because collector items are all about detail, and since lego is a building toy, internal details actually matter since how it's built is just as important to how it looks. I'm not too beat up over the lack of figures; they'd be nice, sure, but I'd have a much harder time justifying an extra $10 or more just for the added on figure. Figures to me are an important part of playsets and master builder sets, as they help bring an extra level of interactivity and "life" to a set, but they're not a big deal for display-oriented sets.
I’m always so, so confused when people say they want a figure. I’ve legit never understood it! I’ve hated the minifigs ever since I was a kid. They live in plastic bags in my drawers where I don’t have to see them. I’m so glad these sets didn’t come with any that I had to discard.
I was originally against there being minifigures in the starship collection sets because I thought it would distract from the build, but the longer I thought about it, the more I'm for it (especially after seeing the 25th anniversary minifigures, I would have preferred to have them in these sets). At the end of the day, it doesn't hurt to get more, & if you don't like the minifigure, you can simply remove it from the stand.
That the sole reason why i didn’t bother buying the mini scale. They could at least add exclusive fig for each mini scale making them way more desirable for people to buy
Honestly, I don't need ANOTHER Darth Vader, Han, Chewbacca etc. I am fine without a minifig. Let the set be just purely about the build and design. Not another Venator disaster where minifig fanatics are buying the set and parting it out (or worse) just to scalp the minifigs. The real problem with these sets are that they're asking for nearly a $100 for a Millennium Falcon model the same size as a $30 or $40 set, with stickers instead of prints, the plastic cost DOES NOT add up. I would be absolutely shocked if they cost to produce any of these in the starship collection is more than half of their MSRP. I love the designs and concept and will absolutely grab one when they come out with one of my favorite ships.
I also wish these starships came with minifigs. Glad I have Han Solo from the Millennium Falcon Microfighter and Chewbacca from the recent Christmas set that came out last year to go with this new Millennium Falcon.
I can't wait to get the Invisible Hand set, I didn't get to preorder it but I'll try to see if I can get it on Amazon tomorrow. And yeah I agree that would be cool if we got at least one minifigure with these sets. Grievous is a no brainer for the Invisible Hand.
If these came with a single figure I would definitely pick them up. The builds are cool but the absence of a figure makes me want to hold for other purchases
My Nebulon Frigate has had Ackbar standing on the front of the stand ever since I built it. Will add minifigs to these as well. Han/Chewie and Leia Antilles.
I loved the LEGO Star Wars series when they first released around the time the OT special edition came out. These days, the Disney logo and TCW references in sets make them all a hard pass for me, and it's really hard to find ones that I like. Most are the collector's editions, which are mad expensive, but the ships in this series do look pretty good.
I would love to see more separatists ships in lego form like the providence or bulwark so many types of ships that collectors would easily preorder its just a matter of making the set to be produced
The Falcon is the most Iconic ship in Star Wars. Most don't even know what movie/show the IH is from. Of course it's going to get the premium treatment (and pricing).
I’m ok with them not coming with figures but then you showed how good they look with a figure on the base and I’m now thinking I may do this with mine especially as they all have the studs there ready.
I thing with the cockpit being that small is accurate to the ship in universe. It’s just over time LEGO made the cockpit oversized which made this time they made it seem small

Invisible Hand is cheaper than the other two so it will sell more. Waiting til May 4th to order them to get double points plus GWP
I know they’re more expensive for the size of ship you’re getting, but for me the detail makes up for it. For me, these sets are perfect, exactly what I want in a display model series
Why is the executor set "infamous"? I thought everyone liked it...
He frequently misuses words
@@berengerchristy6256not the answer i expected haha
@@berengerchristy6256He probably uses big words just so that people will think he's photosynthesis.
I thought the same thing 😂 didn't know there was star destroyer controversy
He's probably acoustic or some such.
"No need to worry, we are still flying half a printed ship."
Don't worry, all the stickers are on this half of the ship
Absolutely agree. A big Lego fan since my childhood, and yes; I like minifigures as much as a nice star wars build.
I think LEGO is finally waking up and realizing the want that fans have for the prequel era. They've released an AT-TE, Corasaunt Guard Gunship, 3 clone battle packs(including the super battle pack), the midi invisible hand(which needs to have a UCS version) and a UCS Venator
Totally agree, for those prices they could add 1 main minifigure and it doesn't even have to be an exclusive version...
Agreed. But the prices are nuts. Lego is overcharging general consumers in their hunt for the rich people 18+ market
Disagree with the build about the Falcon, its almost perfect IMO. For some reason it looks better than the UCS
Yes. And it's much more practical for display. This set is fantastic.
I’m so glad I got the Invisible hand for 35 at my local target, the prices are outrageous!
I have restarted my addiction. I loved Lego as a kid and used to buy play sets after weeks of saving up pocket money. Just bought the midi falcon on sale after 15 years of buying nothing. Straight after building I bought a ucs xwing on sale too😂😂
We need a Profundity (Admiral Raddus’s flagship) set next
Just finished building the Invisible hand. Really happy I got it.
Mid-scale Venator or we riot.
Think the acclamator would be more ideal at this scale and would pair nicely in scale with the UCS Venator. But a venator at midi would be nice as well.
Yesh
The head of the Tantive does look like it might be a hair too small, but the next size up i think may rnd up being too big. Definitely agree, they should be coming with mini figs.
I’m still iffy in the Invisible Hand. A Count Dooku though woulda made it a day one buy.
I like it, I hate when youtubers have annoying intros and background music
Finally bought the invisible hand and I gotta say it looks pretty good next to the venator and the build is done nicely. Thumbs up from me
The planet series was soo cool at that time! I collect most of them. Great work, Lego.
I bought the invisible hand, iv wanted this ship since I was a kid, so thank you, Lego, for finally making the invisible hand.
I love them. I prefer mini ships over the weird heads
Funny enough, when the Millennium Falcon released, I immediately replaced the 25th anniversary brick for Han Solo. 😂
The problem with the midi scale ships was that it is not a collection, they were one offs. But if they release more you can display them really well.
I love the idea of this line. Smaller sets of popular ships are great and I'd love to get several, I just don't have any desire to get any of the ships they've made sets of so far.
The fact this has the first invincible hand blows my mind it feels like an obvious play set scale
Though I think a UCS set to mirror the venator would be awesome since we are in dire need for more
Also a CIS HMP droid gunship to mirror the LAAT
1:52 Exhausting, get it AHahHAha
Mine are being delivered tomorrow. Price is the price, that’s the cost of being a Lego fan. But I agree, they need mini figures. Luckily I have extras sitting from other sets and I’m gonna use what you did and display them with mini figs
I just use my existing figs, Han for my Falcon, Vader for my executor, etc. My friends buy cheap off-hand figs because *it's on a shelf, you won't see it up close anyway*
Another thing I like is the mini person in the invisible hand is instead a MTT and obi wan and Anakin’s Star fighter in the hanger
Ships I'd love to see in the future:
The Chimera
a Venator
Luckerhulk
Home one
The Malevolence
Resurgence class Star destroyer
And maybe even the supremacy
I was 100% convinced you were going to say that the problem was 'scale'. In that they are all completely different scales from each other. To me, I'd want to make a fleets (Republic, Imperial etc) out of these, and it just doesn't work when the scale between them is all over the place. Personally, I don't miss the mini in these sets.
Can't wait to get these got last year's star destroyer great review
watched the whole video! It´s super cool! Thank you! You are absolutely right, an included minifigure would the reason for me to buy all these sets.
I 100% agree, include a minifigure Lego!
absolutely not - then the whole thing becomes about them and not the build. Breath of fresh air they are not included.
Including minifigures would most definitely bump the price of each of these sets up at least another $5 and I don’t see the point for just having the guy who owns the ship standing next to it
6:10 we see the providence class in TCW yes but never there Invisible Hand specifically
I was holding back on the invisible hand... IT SPLITS IN HALF? OH MY GOD
I would be so stoked to see a Hammerhead Corvette in this scale!
I love the thought of putting a minifig in, but I also thing they make the bottom look a little clustered
These look pretty nice, though I'm kind of surprised that Lego still hasn't made buildable lightsaber hilts yet. Maybe someday...
Not everything needs a minifigure. SW fans are way too obsessed with minifigs that just end up being stuck on a baseplate or put in a drawer.
The falcon is straight up just excellent. one of the best sets ina long time.
These prices are outrageous for stickered pieces. I grabbed the Tantive on sale for more than half off at Costco, luckily.
6:36 Firstly I was thinking that will be titanic scen
I bought the microfighters. They are small, cheap, super cute, and come with a minifig!
If Lego gives me a Phantom Menace Republic Cruiser at this scale I will cry with joy.
Lego probably anticipates it to sell the most by a considerable margin, so it’s worth it to give it prints
The falcon should've gotten han solo, tantive IV with captain antilles, invisible hand with count dooku and executor with admiral piett.
i wish they would make the fulminatrix. i know it's not everyone's favorite, but it would still be dope
