Bro that was impressive, I once was on ash twin and randomly threw the scout towards the sun and it landed on the station thats the closest I've been to landing on it
Hey I'm back, it's safe to say that I mastered how to orbit around the sun, and I just uploaded a video to my channel with my lowest orbit yet, as a proof of that, now I only play the game just to do crazy low orbits around the sun
Nomai must have built the station further out where it was accessible, then moved it in to the sun-skimming orbit after they had fitted the warp-pad and eliminated the need to fly to it.
I believe when they built it the sun was far smaller. When you start the game the sun is already "dying" and so is growing rapidly larger and larger before it eventually goes supernova. That's why the sun station gets destroyed so quickly into every cycle by the sun.
@@TidalbootDench Speaking from a physics standpoint, I'm not sure that's possible because as the sun's size increases, its gravity would increase, so if the sun station were in a perfect orbit around the sun which later increased in size, the sun station would either have crashed into the sun already or have an elliptical orbit. Unless the sun expanding isn't actually an increase in mass but only in volume. So idk.

If you want to adjust the elliptical orbit so taht it intercepts the sun station, you can speed up or slow down at periapse (the low point) to adjust the period of your orbit to catch up or slow down to meet the sun station. If you are ahead of the station, increase your speed at periapse to increase size of orbit and increase orbital period so you reach periapse at a later time. If you are behind the station, slow down at periapse to reduce size of orbital and decrease orbital period so you reach periapse sooner. This will help you intercept the sun station.
