I had killed by a dlc creature by trying to avoid them thinking that if I let my lamp in the floor the wouldn't be able to turn it off.
They're not friendly, they're just lazy
They're not unfriendly; they're just scared. Some random creature that they've never seen before has gotten into their simulation and appears to be trying to free the guy you imprisoned for trying to get the universe destroyed.
@@andrew_raymy guy, they aren't thinking about the guy they locked away anymore. That's long gone. I doubt 99% of them even remember that.
It's also one of the few I got by accident, I just ran at one thinking "can they see me?" I got my answer immediatly x)
@@ethanm2562 most didn't know to begin with, if they all knew them they'd be...
Stupid...
My experience with Archaeologist: I was missing one line of text which came from activating Ember twin's gravity cannon.
Bramble Island my beloathed
For me it was talking to chert during the supernova. What do you think Chert ! I’m focusing on dying right now !
@@leobohbot3901same! i already had almost everything filled out and I even sat with chert during the supernova but didn't think to talk to them again since none of the others' dialogue changed. It was mind blowing and extremely sad when i attempted this achievement tho
@@leobohbot3901same. I had to install a mod to figure out what I was missing, because my log appeared complete!
I just wanna let you know, that Deep Impact is Intermediate or even at the top of Easy with a guide. Because guess what, you don't need to go super fast. You can wedge your ship below one of the islands when it's flying, it will push you below the current, and still triggering the achievement.
wait that’s super sick haha
Or you can nomai shuttle
I spent an hour coming up with a formula to make absolute certain I'd hit Giant's Deep at the maximum possible speed, and that was possible all along???
Also, if x= the amount of time you have left in a loop, 0.293x is how long you should spend firing your thrusters away from Giant's Deep before immediately turning around and firing constantly back. If you got 20 minutes left, that accounts for about 5 minutes 51 seconds firing away from Giant's Deep.
I tried doing that for 3 loops and it didn't work out. Then decided to do it by force which was way easier.
Wait, so that's how I got the achievement???
I was so confused at the time, just minding my business on Giant's Deep, trying to explore the underside of the islands, then I got an achievement about entering the core which I'd never done! (I think spent several loops trying to ram the ocean in vain, thinking I was supposed to break through to the core).
Im an aerospace engineer8ng lecturer who played a lot of ksp back in the day. I knew the sun station was hard but i didnt realise how hard it was for non aero / space nerds till i kept hearing " i needed a guide for this" over and over in these sorts of vids 😅
Kinda similar for me, though, I am focused more on theoretical physics and not really on space (Analytical mechanics still helps build intuition for orbits!). To me, by far the highest difficulty of the achivement was leaving the ship after I get to the sun station (Since I've managed to get to the sun station around 4/6 tries). Didn't realise how unintuiative orbital mechanics to get into a low-stellar high velocity orbit is for the average person until I saw videos of people trying it.
Knowing that "up and down" and "forwards and backwards" do something totally different when you're in orbit is definitely the point most people seem to have issues with, especially since normally the ship has enough thrust to basically ignore those effects except when in that tight solar orbit. The idea of seeing something in front of you and therefore lightly thrusting backwards to catch up is so counterintuitive if you don't think in orbital periods.
Harmonic Convergence is actually possible on giants deep, i got it by accident. Walk up to gabbro and aim your signalscope at the tip of the his flute. it should be pretty early in the loop. (good video btw ::)
probably same for me since I also did it by accident, unless there is another place in the system that you can do it
I also got it that way, it was actually the first achievement i got
2:50
"I think this and the previous achievement are pretty much interchangeable"
how is using oxygen as fuel in any way interchangeable with eating marshmallows?
I got you'll never take me alive on complete accident because I was trying to run from one and jumped off ledge to where I thought there was a platform. turns out, there wasnt.
10:38 for this one I thought "ending the loop" meant completing the game so after doing that for a while I went and finished the game and didn't even get the achievement 💀💀💀
that's honestly a fair assumption since it says "(alive)", but dang haha
Fun fact for me: for the "Silenced Catagrapher" achievement, i got it during my og playthrough of outer wilds before purchasing the dlc. This confused me why there was two diffrent colors of achievements.
It also confused the hell out of me when i got to the eye and spotted the satilight and i had no idea what the hell it was or what it was doing there!
You were pretty observant, honestly, I think most people never spot the signal blocker at all!
I actually only figured out how to enter the dream world through Early Adopter! I was exploring after searching the room, and had assumed it was the normal artifact, and through sheer coincidence decided to end the loop in a fire room. Since I didn't have meditation (it was a new save) I decided to just jump into the fire to reset it. That feeling of everything clicking when you have all the puzzle pieces but don't quite know how they fit together yet, until through some random chance it all comes together is why Outer Wilds is one of the greatest games of all time.
Also because of this, I didn't understand that you were supposed to sleep at the fires, and exclusively killed myself in them for dozens of loops, until I realized I was just stupid lmao
yep that’s the kinda stuff that makes me love the game even more haha :)
did you use it in the starlit cove puzzle or did you stop by then lol
@@aloesapling I believe I stopped by then, but It's also been a good while since I first played.
I’m so glad I watched someone play the intro sequence of getting the launch codes to know if I should get the game. Timber Hearth, Echoes of the Eye, and 14.3 Billion years made me cry when I heard them for the first time. This game is phenomenal, and I love it to death. This game has left an impression on me I never thought I would get from a game.
0:41 love that you included SovietWombles play through, highly highly underrated let's play imo
14:42 - OMG. That was exactly same spot, that I've been missimg a while ago, when I tried to get this achievement. Feel proud of you actually.
11:00 why didn't you just stand on the campfire? hahah
damn wait that would’ve been so much easier
@@ascendium Whats even easier is just using the ghost matter on Timber Hearth after landing next to it, even skips an elevator ride
love the sound effects on the title cards, well made video man keep it up! For me the achievement for riding the wave was by far the hardest
Funny how you said harmonic convergence is seemingly impossible normally. Because I did get it by accident during a completely controlled landing that I happened to also have my signalscope active during, and by completely controlled I mean I crashed hard into ember twin by clipping the side of my ship on a cliff and spinning out of control. It just so happened that the planets had aligned along a straight line so I randomly heard a couple seconds of the whole gang playing during the crash
I did harmonic convergence in a very interesting way. I spent one entire loop simply studying the map as each planet orbited the sun, waiting to see when they all line up the best. Then on a subsequent loop, I went into space a little bit further away from the rest of the map and got it.
Great editing on this vid 🐭 I LOVE OUTER WILDS 🙈
Outer wilds videos always are nice.
Thanks You!
I got the artifact at normal campfire by accident! As soon as I found out how to get to the dream world I was like… wait
L take on the sunstation achievement. I had so much fun going through so many loops of trying to land on the thing. Though I may be biased because it was one of the first things I attempted to do. I saw that sun station and vowed that I will land on it. There was a point of regret where I thought to myself that there must be an easier way to do it, or it may be impossible, but the feeling of achievement I felt after getting there, getting an actual achievement, realizing it said "manually" in the achievement, and the realization that there is no hard coded solution to the puzzles of the game, all felt amazing. One of my top experiences with the game.
I got the burnt marshmallow achievement on accident, but the place where i ate my last one is pretty funny: it was when i was at the Eye, right after the campfire first appears. I accidentally burnt it trying to roast one last marshmallow, and since i never tossed my burnt ones and ate them all, i got the achievement. And since i play on PlayStation, it took a screenshot of the screen when the achievement popped and its just a campfire in an empty field.
Flying the model rocket into the sun is trivially easy if you know how orbits work. All you need to do is clear the planet then thrust retrograde to cancel your orbital velocity, then let gravity take care of the rest.
if you just track the sun station's location in the ship log hotshot is actually a really fun challenge
tubular can go die in a hole tho
I'd prefer if tubular died of blunt force trauma during a tsunami (for the situational irony it deserves).
7:06 literally today I was watching my friend play the DLC and he didn't know how to light the fires in the artifacts yet so he ended up doing this as an attempted solution
HELL YES I LOVE FOEKOE AND OUTER WILDS❗
Dropping a like before watching because of how hard it is to rank OW achievements
For me it was missing that talking to Chert at different times will give different dialogue, thus different ship logs.
I got the you'll never get me alive achievement on accident, but I guess that's pretty rare XD. Great video!
Tubular! remains the one achievement I haven't gotten in this game - and oh lord did I put in the time to try for it.
I got the rigidbody achievement on accident while exploring. I took me a min to realize what in the world had actually happened. Just a lucky coincidence.
Even these videos will help fill the hole this game has left in my heart
Easy way to get harmonic convergence is to use the signal scope at the ending sequence in the Eye, i was simply trying to hear them all play at the same volume and got the achievement!
I would love to see you do rankings of other games’ achievements.
Campfires are a bit more consistent way to seal self damage quickly. You can get a good set up on the Attlerock with your ship right next to it.
Fun fact: i accidentally got the “You’ll never take me alive” achievement while trying to run away from a stranger inhabitant
deep impact is actually really easy, you can trigger it by putting your ship under one of the isles that get thrown into space. I got it in just a few tries
Archaeologist: Teleported to the eye of the universe and completed my log by reading the vessel's final transmission :)
Though I also spent like 35 hours in the game prior to entering dark bramble
Harmonic convergence isn't impossible to get normally. I got it totally by accident very early in the game, I don't remember for sure but I think I was looking into the dark bramble seed on Timber Hearth. Ember Twin, Brittle Hollow, Giant's Deep, and the Attlerock must have lined up perfectly just behind it.
I managed to get harmonic convergence fairly easily. It did involve the normal way of flying way out into space, but I was chasing the probe (still upset theres no text or ship log or anything) and by the time I looked back at the sun I was far rnough away for the achievement to work.
the last thing i was missing was some late timeloop chert dialogues i looked for so long to know what was missing
Harmonic convergence can also be obtained on a very special planet at a certain moment
Good video!
As someone who got all the achievements as well I feel your pain :D
Flat Hearther and the Grate Filter were the only achievements I got completely blind. The Grate Filter was completely accidental, but for flat Hearther i looked at that chain elevator and thought "I wonder what happens if..." and then just did it. Unironically my proudest achievement.
I tried using the artefact on a normal camptire, even brought that to Hal, I think they even have an interaction with that, but maybe it was just about the new language.
You can press the eject button by looking around. No need to unbuckle :)
Great editing ! I think I'm going to spend the next 2h binge watching your content
You don't have to stop piloting to press the eject button. Just turn your head (R stick on controller, move your mouse on pc)
Thanks for giving us 0.2 seconds to read the achievements description
thanks for the passive aggressive comment :)
no but in all seriousness i’ll make sure they’re longer next time
@@ascendium you're welcome.
Oh hey that was also the last thing I was missing for my ship log!
13:17 You can just use your downwards thrusters to not fall off the raft.
i did do that as well combined with the other technique
5:24 I actually got this one by accident while on brittle hollow!
Just a tip for future editing. I would leave the text longer before each section!
yea i definitely should’ve made them a bit longer, i’ll keep it in mind if i decide to do a video like this again :)
for the die hard one i too spent the entire loop on it becuse i have no idea how much 1000 damage is, but flew the ship to the patch of ghost matter near the museum and zero-g cave entrances and used that instead, it was so fucking stressful whenever i failed to jump back over the fence the heal myself, i almost accidentally died so many times
also, fuck Tubular. its basically a bunch of waiting, then set up the raft in a precise position, then pray you get it (just pure randomness whether you do). don't get it? enjoy your 5 minutes of waiting before another chance at the slot machine. after well over an 2 hours of attempts i just gave up and used steam achievement manager to unlock it, didn't really feel like i was cheating since i had gotten a like 14.x second run early on and the design of this achievement is absolutely awful. worst part is that it would actually be a pretty fun achievement had they chosen a more reasonable time like 5-10 seconds, 15 feels near impossible and is just pure luck whether you get it
you are speaking my language. I hated tubular with a passion
micas wrath was the first achievement i got because i was immediately upon first starting playing line wouldn’t it be funny if i held up on this until it respawned and then instead it hit the sun
Ghosts in the machine and Tubular I'd definitely have put at the top of Hard haha
Tubular! was an actual pain.
As for Archeologist, I straight up didn't know you could enter Hollow Latern lol
Tubular was the bane of my existence. Maybe I'm just insane because I'm super thorough at everything I do, but I thought archeologist wasn't that bad. Tubular took me 3 different 2-hour sessions filled with rage to finally accomplish. That achievement was the top of my list, hands down.
I was trying to do deep impact just now and I accidentally went straight through giants deep without getting the achievement lol
thr is only two achivements i don't have are around the world in 90 seconds, and tubular
I got archeologist by accident by adding some mods, I'm quite glad but now I don't feel like I've done the 100% :c
what was the music used in the intro?
both are tracks from the game, one is the main menu theme, and the one after that is timber hearth.
if you're referring to the short intro at the very beginning though, it's not a full song, just a small thing i made :)
Damn callin me out from the start 😅
I got archaeologist on my first run lol
I think those title transitions are a little too fast, or would benefit from you saying them at the same time they're on screen or something
yea i apologize about that, got a little too concerned about wasting the viewer’s time during editing but i’ll make them longer next time if i do a video like this :)
@@ascendium no problem. its clear u put the effort in with the movement effects and sound and all that, I just know from experience that when editing it's easy to shortchange how long it takes people to read text
Yeah, i kept having to rush to pause or have to skip back to read what achievement you were doing, it was a bit annoying
May I suggest, for some other video, reading the section loudly. When my eyes are not on screen, it gets very hard to know what is the achievement exactly, as your voice don’t make it explicit. And even when they are on screen, I don’t always have time to read it fully
yea, i'll make sure that they stay on screen longer or even just read it out next time! i appreciate the feedback :)
13:04 but nowhere near as fun!
0:30 I feel seen.
