Amen. I have a friend who is also really into gaming and he refuses to play it because he said it looks boring lmao. It's a shame his stubbornness will keep him from playing one of the greatest games ever made.
@@bestsnowboarderuknow me too, i have a friend that never plays what his friends suggests but i always see him playing whatever has a lot of marketing involving. I really think that everyone should play outer wilds, as well as any gta, few games fits this.
I need to say, if you are reading this and haven't played it. Stop, play the game and come back, he spoils a bit and its MUCH better to experience this without any knowledge of what your doing
You mention the minute-to-minute gameplay, but I just want to add that some of my favorite moments from "playing" this game were from having sudden epiphanies while going about my normal day. At one point in my playthough I even ended up on vacation for a week, and when I came back home I rushed to my computer to try out all the ideas I had built up and to explore what I had only grown more curious about.
I can see why he got that messed up. If he didn’t pay attention to the in lore description of the time, and maybe didn’t notice that the game pauses the clock often when reading dialogue, to also add the fact that the in game clock doesn’t start until after you receive the launch codes, it makes sense you could miss it. Especially if your just rushing the play through just to get a video out on it.
My 22 minutes turned into 99 hours surprisingly fast. Echoes of the Eye was as good or better than the original. These devs really hit this one out of the park.
Great video and agree 100%. Only thing I would add to what sends the game into the next level is the MUSIC. It's possibly the finest score of any video game made and will stay with you long long after you've finished it. Glad you had it as the backing track to your vid. Roll on a sequel!!
You are actually underrated, this was a great video with great pacing for a video made 2 years ago and still having under 300 subscribers, its criminal
This is by far my favourite game of all time. loved it so much that I bought a keyboard just so I could learn to play Solanums song. I really wish I could go back in time through someone else's time loop and play it for the first time again.
Spoilers The "I want to go somewhere no one's gone before." dialogue option with Hornfels at 5:39 is really interesting, because there's never actually an area in the game that nobody has been to before. Every planet and moon has Nomai ruins, and even the eye of the universe has had some sort of conscious observer in it before, because you aren't in the very first universe.
ENDING SPOILERS I guess you could say that this universes iteration if the Eye is somewhere where nobody else has ever been, since I doubt that anyone who has ever entered the Eye in previous universes has gone through the same process that you have, finding their friends in a dark forest using a signalscope
I think the line "I wonder what would happen if a conscious observer were to enter the eye" sort of sets you up to be the only person (in this universe at least) who will see the end of it all, and thats pretty damn special
I thought about the same thing when I saw the game and I can tell you, once I played. I have been OBSESSED with the game. The DLC makes things even better and well it’s the best game and I was talking about it so long all my friends literally had to buy it just to find out why I liked it so much. Also wonderful video, you like outer wilds are underrated.
I stumbled on this game a few weeks ago and accidentally changed my life and how I view games in general, I wasn't sure how I felt at first but was totally sold in the first 22 mins. I did most of the story, then did the DLC right b4 the end, and I wasn't prepared for the strong emotions it would bring out when it all came together. now I'm like the rest of u, wishing to be able to go back and experience it again. def worth it for anyone who needs a break from shooting everything in the face
Everyone who plays it says it’s one of their favorite game of all time. And many others, including myself, confidently say that it IS their favorite game of all time.
I stopped playing this game for a about a month because of having to leave for about 16 days to a trip, I fell for the search on the internet how to achieve some puzzle's in game. I'm sure I will never forget the stuff I searched up, that will make it not the same experience I wanted to have, but when watching the beginning of this video with some cutscenes of some places plus the music, it made me cry. So much love for this game, but it's something, like everyone say's, you can only experience once.
Yes. This game makes itself known in your brain and cannot be easily forgotten. It's like the salmon that swims up the stream. It's almost too good to tell anyone about, because, playing it feels like a privilege
If I've somehow caught you before you've watched this video, and you have not played this game - please do not watch. The best way to play this game is without a single idea of what to expect. I received this advice when reading a forum and was so glad I did
Outer Wilds had a raw deal for being published the same year as The Outer Worlds, also a sci-fi game, *AND* Outward, also an exploration game. I swear someone pulled a prank over creative directors in 2019/2020. Thankfully Outer Wilds managed to pull its own weight, especially when the DLC came out.
For clarification: The three games made it the worst experience trying to talk to someone about Outward or Outer Wilds and have everybody say "Oh yeah, the space Bioshock? Yeah it looks cool." because The Outer Worlds had comparatively a *massive* advertisement setup. And when you have to clarify "Not Outer _Worlds,_ Outer *Wilds* / Out *ward!* ", you're already losing half of the person's interest only because you had to correct them.
One of the things that sets this game apart is that it is itself a puzzle. The only thing that stops you from completing it is information and knowledge. I've just recently played this earlier this year and I still am finding things in the game I had no clue were there
Im so happy i knew at first glance Im gonna play it and dont let me get spoiled, the supernova part and the time loop were already awesome, the game felt so big and open and it was awesome now I wish to remove that knowledge and play it over again
**VERY IMPORTANT TO ANYONE NEW LOOKING TO PLAY THE GAME!!** DO NOT WATCH THIS VIDEO, HAVE A COMPLETELY BLIND EXPERIENCE! It's what makes this whole game so good, and the mystery of it all it phenomenal!!! Just enjoy it yourself, and I promise you won't be dissapointed
Everyones played this lmao. And yeah. It is eerily close. Outer Wilds has been known about for 7 years prior to its launch. Why the fuck did Outer Worlds steal its name?
It is exactly gushing and praise like this that got me to buy and play Outer Wilds. I thought, "Finally! A game that was made exactly for me!" Then, it was personally playing Outer Wilds myself that made me never, ever, ever listen to gushing and praise like this ever again. Outer Wilds is shit. It's a shitty excuse for a game, and a complete waste of money and time.
I almost am starting to believe that all of these people work for the company that made the game. It's not good. I had people in my Twitch chat and other randoms telling me how amazing it is. It's not that fun to play lol.
Those are very strong words for someone bound to the strings of conventional gaming with no hint of intrinsic motivation in their bones whatsoever. The game instils curiosity and that's the main driving factor for progression, and if you just don't have it, you won't enjoy the game! Simple. Certainly not the game's fault, more like you need to stop expecting absolutely everything to cater to your exact needs.
@@chefaahz I would not be playing Outer Wilds on Twitch. Too many people backseating. Its a game to be experienced on your own. Take your time with it if you ever try again. Its loved for being unique so that of course means some wont like it because its too different from what they-re used to. If you ever play it again. Give it a chance and work through whatever issues you have with it. ( Imma guess the controls lol. ) Itll be worth it in the end. Regardless. You have a nice day!
I'm 51 and I've been an avid gamer since I was a kid and Outer Wilds is the best game I've ever played.
