My favorite instance of someone discovering the quantum moon is in Nerdcubed’s playthrough where he’s reading notes about it (it was either on timber hearth or it’s moon) and then as if _on que_ the quantum moon just drifts into view before disappearing over the horizon again, so he’s just standing there like “what do you mean there’s another moo- *WHAT IS THAT* !!!!”. Just the realisation that there’s this whole other celestial body that he somehow completely missed, it’s so good.
That's hilarous timing right there ha! My first time playing I went through ten loops before I even noticed it and went to my ship to get a better view and the thing just disapeared and I thought I was tripping. I think one of my most satisying moments playing was when I did quantum trials and realized the key was to take a picture of it and I was like "ohhhhhh" It's such a well placed mystery, I love it
Funny thing because that happened to me as well, I was in Brittle Hollow at the time, in that one place with the compass that tells you about the moon I believe, and I just see some white thing drifting past the corner of my screen and I'm like "????"
For me I thought it was a scripted event I was near the start and I read about it for the first time, die right after, and that play after it flashed in and out of my sight in timber hearths orbit when you wake up and blink. A big wtf moment
after learning about the Quantum Moon it was always so cool to catch it briefly when you wake up on some loops, you see it for one blink and then it's gone.
It looks so cool just vibing next to giants deep like that. The quantum moon is one of my favorite things in this game. The quantum rocks are meanies though as they always just appear right behind you and that always scares me.
Yup you got hit by an Island! I've seen it happen to several streamers while on the QM around Giant's Deep. The Islands sometimes hit the moon in orbit.
I wonder if you just have a floating tower in an invisible Quantum Moon every time it visits the sixth location, or if it happens only when the scout is attached to it.
If you clip out of bounds at the vessel when entering the eye coordinates (it's a common speedrun tactic nowadays), you can fly through space at the eye! However, the moon doesn't let you enter it, it repels you if you get close to it. It doesn't really "exist" like it does in the main map, unfortunately :(
Speedrun strats have them fly backwards at full speed while firing the scout for additional propellant. Somehow this lands the Hatchling in the Museum??
Nomai could have done that to find The Eye. But nooooooo, let's explode the sun to go back in time to shoot a canon in different directions millions of times to find the eye.
What’s amazing is the little scout has enough energy to transmit from the eye all the way back to the player’s location. The nomai had to explode the sun to have enough energy to transmit the coordinate
The instakill would be a barrier so that you only complete your quantum pilgrimage the way they intend tbh. Everything in the game has a physical location on the map, ig it's a small quirk of how the devs chose to implement stuff, so dark bramble has a physical location on the map on where it's stored and so does that other EoTE place.
Still wish there was a way to simply follow the probe to the Eye. Like, imagine if they add a 1% chance of the probe going straight to the Eye (But it only works after you finish the game, just to make sure new players don't skip the entire game lmao). That would be cool. Useless but cool.

@@Zeldon567 Believe it or not, I've seen somebody get the ship to appear on the Quantum Moon's sixth location during their first playthrough somehow. I don't remember who's LP it was, but to summarize it: as soon as they got in the seat, the ship tried to do it's "returning to solar system" autopilot thing, but it couldn't pass through the clouds (there's a wind that repels you if you try to do that), and because the ship automatically locked onto the sun, they could see how far away it was and how fast they were moving relative to it (the Quantum Moon moves quite fast on a very elliptical orbit when it's at the sixth location, as it turns out). The flight worked like normal, but I don't remember if they tried to go through the wormhole thing with the ship or not. It was a completely normal playthrough otherwise, this happened entirely on accident.
@@Dan0RG That's insane, I tried getting my ship on the sixth location by letting it enter the moon first and then going in myself but it's difficult considering the moon isn't visable and it's hard to line up with it correctly since you can't lock onto it.
