- Accidentally reset my splits lmao.
This now 100% suitless run was made possible by the discovery of menu storage wrong warp. This works (somehow) by creating a save at the vessel, then doing some menuing, which warps you to the ending campfire without the suit for some reason. Anyway, enjoy this exceedingly wacky run.

I like how the reward for this run is a universe-birthing explosion WITHOUT cracks marring the view because you aren't wearing a helmet.

Never knew you could push off of surfaces when in zero grav without a suit. That is genuinely such a cool feature I didn’t expect them to even have.
It's not just when in zero grav. If you are in your ship while it is moving (either your own rockets or a gravitation pull of a planet, etc.) and you are not buckled in to the pilot seat, the force of movement can push you in different directions around ship and you can push off things (even while wearing the suit) in there to get back to the pilot seat or leave the ship.
I noticed it when the gravity crystal broke in my ship lol.
I like how the statue turns to where it expects you to be instead of where you actually are
Thats statue skip. Really precise jump to get that to work. Saves about a second.

I noticed that you didnt full throttle through the entrance to the anglerfish nest like in your any%. Is this because its a risky move and you didnt want to risk progress on a good run or smth?
Yes, it's risky and only saves 3 seconds, which is pretty meaningless in a category as unoptimized as this one.
I've been playing for... too many hours. Speed runs are fun to watch, but dang, if they don't confuse me more!

imagine if the devs thought of that and the self that you can talk to has no suit
They tend to patch things like this if something doesn't fit with the logic of the universe.
i wonder what happens if you go for the "self" ending while suitless. does your character appear without the suit in the hourglass twins?
'self' appears with the suit. I think this channel did a break spacetime suitless speed run as well

what was the glitching wall forge part for?
From how long the vessel section was, I assume it tricks the game into thinking you are still in an oxygen rich environment
As the other commenter pointed out, clipping out of the forge does give you infinite oxygen, which is needed for entering the vessel.

Why didn't the anglerfish bother you?
They only react when you boost. He entered and two got alerted but didnt boost any further until he was past the initial two. then you can outpace them.
they're blind and don't react to silently floating objects
Does the speed running not get boring? I mean it is not that long and very repetitive, how do you stay entertained while doing this?
The thrill of being able to shave off 2-3 seconds, similarly for people who run for sport
I mean, have you looked at their channel? They obviously just love speedrunning this game and who would get bored doing something they love.
how did deleting the save skip u to the end?
They partially explain in the description that it's a glitch
I didn't delete the save file. I clicked new expedition, and while the confirm box was still up I navigated to switched profile, created a new profile, then selected resume expedition. For some reason this warps you to the end campfire without the suit ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
@@ptminsker I'm assuming this doesn't work for whatever reason with the suit? Cause that seems like a shitload of time save for every other category hahahahaha
@@zajmahal8589 Nope. If there's a way to do this while keeping the suit we haven't found it yet.
@@zajmahal8589 If you mean making the Vessel save while having the suit on, it does work, but it removes the suit when you load the game, so it doesn't actually save time.

game thinks you're still in the black hole forge, since you never "left". so, it gives you infinity oxygen.
This is ridiculous. You can't do a suitless run of the game. It makes no sense. Now lets see you do it.
