Yeah I'm 73 and listening right now ! Eagles one of the greatest bands ever !
His true stories are better than what standups create.
Joe Walsh is a national treasure.
Again, this is a supreme example of one being comfortable in one’s skin.
Joe Walsh is an icon but, as cool and real as they come. Long live the music of the James Gang and the Eagles.
I have always loved this song! Nearly 61 years old and I still love it!

I bought 'Got Any Gum' when I heard on KLBJ FM in Austin, YEARS ago,
that Joe Walsh would soon be doing a 'meet n greet' at Budget Tapes and Records, waited in the Incredibly Lonng line, while Joe told stories and jokes and ASSURED us all that he would not be leaving at the designated time given for the event, but would be there until Everyone got there turn.
And when I got my turn, I asked him to please sign my album
"To Rochelle,
(my mom),
From the Best Eagle,
Joe Walsh".
To which he obliged.😎 I thanked him and expressd that THAT was in both of our opinions,
(with due respect
to ALL band members 😌🙏),
the Truth of the matter.🎸🤟🏼
And I WON 🙂 on her birthday.😀
Thanks again Joe.
You ARE the
Coolest😎.

69 and still playing his stuff and learning a lot.

I remember this song came out my first year in college. But seeing Joe Walsh here and most of these fans I'm shocked to see how old they look! 🤔

Love Joe. Life's Been Good
Joe Walsh came to our High school and played guitar and spoke about his bad experience with drugs . He was so high lol . 1983.
As a 60 Yr old now I started collecting vinyl all over again. Along the way picking up James Gang, Eagles, and then Joe Walsh records. Always loved his tunes, but noticed his crazy sense of humour looking at his vinyl. Joe Walsh albums are all wacky covers, funny, openings on the wrong side, labeled goofy, like puzzles, I love it! its his way of saying who gives a shit about standards, it about the ride. This vid makes all sense now.
My gosh how I love him and I think he's madly talented and wicked sense of humor!!
Love ya Joe!!
He. Probably. Would. Have. Went. Out. With. U

I probably would have gone out with him in the ol days!! I just think he's just incredibly talented and I have loved his music & the eagles always raised my kids on this music 🎶 ❤ and makes feels complete JOY!! WHAT MORE CAN ASK FOR JOY FROM SOMEONE... BEAUTIFUL !!
@@stephanieevans2252 that's so sweet of you how long have you been my fan?
I just love Joe. He's been clean and sober for years but you'd never know it,
Funny story.
I think that's just brain damage at that point lol
- A friend of mine who died of lung cancer last year told me about going to see Joe perform years ago. He said Joe was very drunk and couldn't sit on his stool without falling off occasionally. He said Joe never missed a note and played perfectly. Total professional. Drunk but totally pro.
Oh no...you know Joe's been sober for quite awhile and you can tell it.
@Jose Plaza can you play guitar, sing, or even look as good as this man, idiot!!!
@Jose Plaza can you play or sing as well???
Saw the eagles last week. The more I hear Walsh speak, the more respect I have for him. He seems so genuine.
He’s lucky to have survived the moon experience, love Joe.

Sometimes I enjoy a lyric story more than the song, but Joe nailed it. I love it both. Remembering vagely from the press back then that he was in trouble trshing hotel rooms all over the tour routes. Glad he had an acountant "who paid for it all".
I love Joe Walsh. I saw him perform with the Eagles in 1978. One of the greatest musicians to ever grace the stage however his Dynamic personality outshines them all for sure for real.

What a great way to tell this story. It's nice to see and hear someone be honest and self abasingly funny about his former life.
For me, I was in attendance when Joe and "The James Gang" played their last bar gig, at a club called "The Jail" in Strongsville, Ohio, the night before the went to record their first album. It was the first time `I ever saw or heard them too. I've followed Joe's career ever since, something I hardly ever do.
We've been loosing a lot of folks recently, I hope Joe lives for ever, well, not really, just a long time to come. ;-)

That was cool and funny to finally find out how that great song came about.. God that song brings back great memories of my and the boys (my dad my brother and me); and my sister riding on a long trip to it think it was Stanford springs for a swap meet.. and it had to be like near or after midnight and were all jamming to the radio.. listening and singing the long version of life's been good .. and just having a blast.. when I hear the song it makes me laugh, smile and cry for the memories.. God my parents brought us up right .. with the best of every thing especially our love for music... thank you Joe Walsh and all the other great bands that gave us the most awesome pantheon of music throughout our lives!! ❤🎼🎵🎶
Joe gave me my first guitar lessons when i was 4 yrs old. it was a trade off for using my brothers silvertone amp when he played the bars of Kent State University. this was back in 1963-64. he turned my parents on to getting me involved in music fulltime, and now i can thank him for giving me a music career, though not a famous career, it is still a life in music that has paid all my bills since the 1970s. by the way...back then, he lived in a Volkswagon bus and ate a lot of bologna and mustard sandwiches. he couldn't afford an amp and was teaching local kids guitar to make extra money. i would love to contact him personally and give him a big thank you. doubt if he remembers that time in his life, but i do.
Jay Smith great story. You should send him a letter via his management. Thks.
Silverstone?? 😉
Thanks for the memories 💜
Contact him on social media, I bet he remembers and would reply.
Jay Smith I love it ! Glad Joe is doing well, too.
Jay Smith My first guitar was a Silvertone I ordered from Sears.
Joe is sober but permanently drunk and I love him.
You just put into words what I could not verbalize.
I think he was actually drunk when this was filmed.
I think the syndrome that happens when someone has been sober for a long time after been drunk for a long time they call it a dry drunk or a wet brain I forget whether you have a wet brain or you're a dry drunk but one of those syndromes holds true I guess you could guess you could have a wet brain and be a dry drunk or could you have a wet brain I don't know anyway
@@gregorypeterman6216 he's been sober since 94 though...

That's great, Joe is wonderful.

Welcome. And enjoy.
Joe plays with so much soul and feeling. Very emotional guitar playing. " In the City" is a good example. I listen to Joe's guitar on all Eagles songs, you can tell when he wrote the song or just a lick, or riff.
Life has not been good to 10 people .

Joe Recently said that "He and his band didn't know what they were doing on stage." I still don't think he fathoms how brilliant him and The Eagles were. Common I think with music artists of his caliber. Such perfectionists.

I saw the Eagles when they were on their History tour, months before Glenn's death. When I heard the opening riffs of this song, I involuntarily jumped up and screamed. The people in front of me turned to look and one of them asked hubs, "Is she OK?" Good Times. I've been huge fan of Joe's since 'Funk 49' when he was still with The James Gang.
I bought that James Gang album when it came out and wore it out.
