I've been a Joe Walsh fan for almost 50 years (I have original copies of Barnstorming and The Smoker You Drink), and one of my favorite songs of all time is "Life's Been Good". Thanks for the music, Joe!
We are thankful that Joe has found a way to stay straight. A very tough chore, when you're a super star. He did it. He writes songs which talk to you and make you shiver. So glad that you moved on to a better place in your life!!!!!
@@bluzedogg You are so right my friend! There is no stronger drug than alcohol! It is a garbage drug. It turns you into something that you're not. Good one bluzedogg!!! Have a great Xmas!
Never was that into the eagles until much later in life. I got So what when it first came out in 1974 when I was 13 and became an instant lifetime fan. Saw him five times solo over the years, it was always a great show. 63 and still listening to him almost daily.
Godamn! I'm jealous!! It blows me away just watching them live on youtube, gives me chills how good they are. I was born in 86, i wish I lived in the 70s! Good music really is like gold, it doesn't tarnish and lasts a lifetime hopefully forever in the digital space thousands of years from now, people will probably still be listening to music from the 50s 60s 70s 80s it's amazing to look back on the history by decade. It doesn't happen like that anymore. But we still got all this gold, it's funny the music is priceless and at the same time, you me we will pay for it lol . And all these amazing bands came from the land of the free! That's what you get with freedom!! What amazing times to be alive.
Saw him at the Fillmore for the rides again tour . He was young sober and on fire . He was not only a great guitar player but also a great showman . The show was an inspiration for how good a 3 piece outfit can be
I could never get enough of Joe Walsh, so innovative and incredible arrangements. I still listen to all his pre-Eagles work including James Gang. Love self titled album, Barnstorm and of course "Smoker You Drink...., and You Can't Argue with a Sick Mind album. So many great songs with unlimited creativity and uniqueness as he kept evolving and elevating his beautiful music.
RESILIENCE AND FORTITUDE, AND NOT BEING F****** WEAK AND LETTING ADDICTION CLAIM YOUR ASS! As a guitar player myself, what really amazes me about this whole thing is how many different style guitars this man has played and owned in his career! Amazing! Keep on rockin Joe! 🎸💥💪🔥
Tom Bukovac who has played with many of the greats including Joe said he is a guitar horder and has warehouses in the LA area full of great guitars. Thats not a bad thing, I don't think. Beats being a drug addict.
I think the description detail tells you what he endured losing his dad & daughter & all his drug & alcohol troubles pretty much is what this is all about.
You called it. It comes off like they have something that we're not already aware of. God bless Joe. It sucks that internet "paparazzi" justify their paycheck of someone else's life.
Hello darling sweetheart fan ! I saw some of your comments on my uploaded post and I had to create a more private platform to appreciate those people whose comments and well wishes encourage me and hopefully bring you more coaching. You can send me a direct message and tell me how you feel
It was Don Felder & manager Irving Asoff who took Joe to rehab. They said when the band reunited in 1994 When Hell Freezes Over that Joe had to be straight. He got straight & never looked back

I think your opinion that Joe Walsh came into his own with Barnstorm is wrong ..... his skills and innovative strengths were at a premium with JAMES GANG ..... the two albums had great material done so brilliantly I STILL REGARD THEM as his best work.
The irony of this video is that while Walsh is trying to rekindle a more analog (real) approach to his music, and music in general, this video is the result of AI (digital) writing, production, and narration.
it was not the industry nor touring nor where they were that made drugs and alcohol accessible, it was people who made those crutches accessible. I am in a wet shelter, yet though I see others around me smoking, drinking, etc. the only things accessible to me, thankfully are the three meals a day which I can choose to eat or choose to not eat. I am not near a liquor store, there is a vaping store nearby and cigarettes are available nearby but I detest smoking and drugs. There is a vending machine with lighters, chips, candy, drinks, so I occasionally buy something from that or nearby stores. I am sad that Joe and his wife experienced the heartbreaking loss of their daughter, yet I am convinced that divorce was not inevitable for them, it was a "choice" both of them came to and I am sure his touring was part of the problem as it may have been with Eric Clapton when his own son died.
How many times and in how many ways can you repeat the same substance?! OMG! If you only stated the basic facts once, this vid could have been about 4 minutes long instead of over 20 minutes. You could have still stated everything in a creative interesting way, just don't repeat everything 5 or 6 times! After hearing something twice, it becomes very boring (even though I love Joe and think he's fascinating and inspiring).
Wasting time repeating stuff drives me crazy also. The AI got caught in a loop. We should never turn off our own thinking and rely on AI to lead. I have no doubt that "they" want to nullify our thinking so we are more compliant for exploitation. AI cannot think, it just pretends.
Interesting, but lost me at Joe being 10 years old and inspired by the Beatles and the Ventures. Joe was born November 20, 1947. The Ventures formed in 1958 and the Beatles in 1960.

While this video is informative, we need to lose that one word - "substance." Every tangible material on this earth is a substance. I deeply resent taking this word from my language and turning it into a euphamism for illegal drugs. CALL THEM WHAT THEY ARE!!!!! Quit trying to sanitize things that need to be dealt with. Drugs are drugs, NOT "substances!"
Also - Joe is great on the "RIFF OF *HOTEL CALIFORNIA" ............. but, you did not mention the MUSIC IS WRITTEN BY DON FELDER ( words by the tyrants Henley & Frey ) although they both worked up the dueling leads and Felder always speaks highly of Joe as a band mate and person ! Don was screwed by Frey ..... a horribly insecure and selfish individual with overbearing personalty ...... eventually even starting a fight on stage .... finally throwing Don Felder out of the band - so I point out the signature song being that of Felder !

What guitar is that with the "D" on the headstock? Danelectro? Tom Petty played a Danelectro bass in the video End of the Line.
