But I don’t think this rifle is going to do very well. Not much hype heard regarding the rifle either. Have a couple gun stores near me that have had a Carmel for at least 4 months now and still haven’t sold one. So it’s not selling well either. If a person wants to add it to their collection they may not want to wait too long. They may be out of production and a collectors item sooner than you think. It does not take long if you look back at firearms here today and gone tomorrow. Even though the Carmel may not be perfect I would still buy one if I had the extra money to do so. Wish I would have bought the Beretta ARX back when they were available and reasonable.

If this was available in .308 it would be interesting. My Beretta ARX100 is everything this is but lighter and more compact and I paid $800 for it 5 years ago. These things are $1700-1800 range as were the Berettas when introduced and the sticker shock hindered sales...that and the never released caliber kits Beretta promised. I just don't see this thing selling all that well with the competition available. At this price why not just buy a Tavor? If you don't want a bullpup then the PSA JAKL is looking like a far better deal with the various configuration options and availability in 300 Blackout. I never fired one, but I handled one in a gun shop. Comparing it to my CZ Bren II, in my opinion the Bren is a better rifle. Namely it has a better trigger, smoother action and the weight is more distributed evenly. In addition, favorable reports on the CZ have been coming from the Ukraine from some troops that were issued the CZ Bren. The Bren is also issued to Czech republic army. On the other hand I could find no Miltary, special operations or police that use the IWI Carmel. SInce I made that comparsion, I noticed the IWI Careml came down in price. Could be good because of lower price but, then again it could be a sign that no one wants to buy it. The Carmel had a recall ( only certain serial number range) shortly after hitting the market so that didn't do it any favors.

weapons produced by IWI are all strange and even expensive for their qualities, I think that designers in Israel do not have access to modern weapons developments (and the domestic weapons market in Israel is zero), so IWI designers “invent” nonsense, which does not take into account the world the market and the wrong paths of other gun manufacturers. And yes, the modern way of “assault rifles” is weapons like CZ BREN 2, FN SCAR, that is, with an extruded upper part of the receiver and a plastic molded lower receiver.

@@lekerstobalgo698 I own one and would buy another tomorrow if fate parted me from mine today. "Strange and even expensive...nonsense" is a purely subjective critique devoid of empiricism. I respect your opinion and personal perspective. Consider the IDF applied use case. Israel may be the only nation that is always on highest DEFCON for the literal survival of their state and people. Your assertion that, "IWI designers 'invent' nonsense" would suggest zero-sum logic and in consideration of the real world/real-time dependence on weapon systems for survival, (as opposed to LARP, plinking, USPSA "tactical" shooting at stuff that doesn't shoot back), IMHO, makes little rational sense. I don't believe, ( in my ignorant assumptions ) that IWI designs for an international/export market but rather, to effectively neutralize, ( that's PC for "kill" ), 24-7, 365 real and present dangers. And at that, inarguably, they are without peer.

@@TasteLikeChicken By the term “strange” weapon I mean this “CARMEL”, which has very large body dimensions and weight for its caliber, plus possible problems of overheating of the barrel trunnion and its mixing in the plastic of the body during long automatic fire (like the HK G 36 in Afghanistan) due to the fact that everything is surrounded by plastic in the structure and there is no heat transfer. Naturally, everything I have written is a subjective opinion. I don’t know how much TAVOR costs for IDF, but in the civilian market it is expensive and expensive for licensed release by other manufacturers (IWI charge a lot of money for a license, etc.) so I think there is relatively little distribution of TAVOR around the world. In general, bullpups have relatively little distribution in the world of assault rifles, especially among actively fighting armies. From Israeli small arms, for example, I really liked the concept - IWI ARAD, which I only recently learned about and I believe in the. promise of this weapon
