Just got one after using the largest pro iPad years and I can’t go back. I absolutely love it. I have my MacBook pro and still have my iPad pro for more solid work but when I need to be on the go i find myself reaching for this way more often!
You are so right about this. This is my most loved iPad out of any I’ve ever had. I use it in place of my iPhone for navigation in my vehicle, Apple Maps navigation is so large and easy to see at a glance. I like watching tv shows and movies, especially RUclips. Love reading daily newspapers and magazines and of course books too. It’s so thin and light, I have no issue taking it everywhere I go.

Thank youuu! That was very helpful. I haven’t seen reviews of the Mini mentioning books reading with the iBook. Since you mentioned that display isn’t too bright (like on the iPad Pro) that might be a good thing for reading, as the brightest display makes it uneasy on the eyes after a while when reading on the device
I own one in space grey and I love it using so often. The size is so manageable and I use my phone less too after buying it.

Although I think it’s unlikely I kind of hope they add the bright pink they have on the iPad 10 to the mini colour lineup cause I honestly tossed up between the Air 5 and the 10 a fair bit purely cause I wanted a pink one 😂 (I went with the Air 5 in the end cause I got it on a deal) but I have been actually loving my 5th Gen mini recently and I swear if they bring out a hot pink one in the new design I may not be able to resist! Even though getting another iPad could possibly be the dumbest idea I’ve ever had 😂

I’ve had this thing for a year. I love using it, there are just 2 things I don’t like:
1. Battery life
Every time I pick this thing up it is on red battery. The standby time is not good at all, and I wish they would fix that.
2. Screen
The bessels are a little chunky, and the screen itself isn’t great. I wish they would give it the dynamic island and make it OLED.

I love my iPad mini. I had the M1 12.9 iPad Pro, and never used it honestly. It was unwieldy, and awkward to use for me personally. It was just a VERY expensive paperweight. I gave it to my wife since she does illustration full time, and got the mini for myself. I hated it at first. But then it fit into my life so perfectly. One I can toss into my pocket, or my bag, and just go about my day. I love it as a digital notetaker/sketchbook/media device. It also functions as my e reader when I leave my kindle at home as well. I use it every day, all day for all aspects of my life. And that’s is something I can say with confidence I NEVER did with my old pro. The portability is key for me.
I am thinking of getting the Mini for reading too. But I haven’t seen reviews which mention the books app on the mini. How do you like it for reading? I am currently reading on the iPad Pro but the screen is quite bright and when you have a hugh bright screen in front of you while reading for longer time,it is not so comfortable on the eyes… (Kindle isn’t an option for me)

@@KD6-3.7.2 because I like very much the user interface iOS has in its Books app, the speed , and especially important is the great translation option of the entire paragraph (from German to English). Although I prefer E-Ink for reading, I don’t want to give up the options the iPad offers for the reading experience..
@@yosmuc ah, i see. I use the kindle paperwhite primarily for leisurely reading in English not for serious study so I love it for that. I can see though with your use case how the ipad would be preferable. I just find the eye strain of reading on an LCD display to be too bothersome. But I’m sure the annotation and other features on iPad are far superior.

I got the ipad mini 6, after using the ipad mini 4 for about 5 years. I use it every day, it’s size is versatile (you don’t have to log around the ipad or ipad pro size device). This one is perfect for me.
Watching on mine! It’s the perfect size.
If they put an m1 in this, and supported external monitors this would be the perfect iPad.

@@IcanseeeverythingwhatyouDohere To be honest, with the optimization Apple does, and the fact that iPadOS is so low on the demand scale, I think that 6-8 gigabytes of ram would be totally enough for the average consumer.

@@Elixxx04 Not many people would notice a difference in the screen, except the brightness. If Apple put in a mini led screen, then it would be at the current level of the pro iPad models. I will agree that a bigger battery is always better. But, seeing that this is Apple we’re talking about, you can throw away the idea of expandable storage.
I say this for what i want it to be for the next ipad minis. After all apple products is really known for its expensive high price. So be it. And thinner bezel would be a good design.

I am trying to debate whether I need an iPad or not. My phone screen is just a bit too small for watching videos and I feel like I need to use my TV instead. I had a cheap android tablet which was a good size at 7.0 inches but very slow and glitchy. Should I get an iPad and which one? Or should i just get a bigger phone since I’m due an upgrade soon?
I would love to get a secondary iPad that is more portable, but I don’t think I could go back to a standard LCD screen. For LCD technology, Mini LED is the way to go.

Could be the best if there weren’t the display issues and the crippled A15 with one deactivated core compared to the one in the 13 Pro (Max).
I really don't understand people complaining about the A15. It is still fast as hell. I think most people don't really understand how much power the A-series has compared to the competition.

As a more open OS I am using an Active 3 Samsung tablet. The battery is easily removed. It has a 12MP camera and 4GB of RAM.
I like my Mini a lot, but the OS and apps aren't optimized for it. Apple needs to give the software some TLC.

I just ordered yesterday. It’s discounted now from TMobile. I have ipad 11 2018 pro and M1 12.9 but i is a pain for traveling
For me, unfortunately, I don’t think I could do JUST the Mini. I do a lot of writing with the Apple Pencil (left handed) and view content from farther away in the room a lot. So I still need my IPad Air for sure. But I do love my Mini, just couldn’t have that one alone I think.
Totally agree with the Mini being the nearest iPad to the original one - emails, browsing, messaging etc. It would be amazing if it was able to handle Stage Manager and Extended Display - imagine being able to take that with you instead of a laptop and connecting with a monitor to do your work on, like Samsung DeX.
What are your thoughts on the iPad 9th generation, pricing wise? Do you think the price will be reduced lower,or is this as good as it gets?

Been exclusively using iPad Pros since 2015 but decided to downgrade from my cellular 11 inch Pro to the cellular Mini recently mostly because it became such a chore to lug around a huge iPad when travelling. It’s been amazing! Touch ID took a while to get used to but so far it’s been a blast. I haven’t missed ProMotion at all since it’s not that noticeable on a smaller screen. I take this thing everywhere. It absolutely feels liberating to just grab an iPad and go without ever thinking about the bag you’re going to use since it’s so tiny that it can fit just about any EDC bag. ❤

I bought the newest iPad Mini when it finally came out and it was absolutely awful. Every single app is poorly optimized for the screen as you can tell they are clearly optimized for either the iPad, the old iPad Mini display size or an iPhone. The bezels are unnecessarily huge and it still has the same issues like a missing calculator.

Yes its portable, but the screen brightness is a big disappointment using in outdoors.
Wish apple give more brightness for it to be usable outdoors.
if only the 12.9” ipad pro could run macos then it would be my only device until the end of time. it’s that when i travel i’d rather just take the few extra pounds with me to have the versatility of the 12.9” screen and magic keyboard. The mini truly is a great device though and I will probably pick up the 7 when it comes out.
For many years I wished the iPad would run some flavor of macOS, but ever since I moved from an Intel MacBook to an M1 MacBook, I have fallen in love with the MacBook all over again and don't think an iPad is for me. I still haven't found a use case for the iPad outside of reading and watching videos. Maybe what we actually need is some Frankenstein device where it's a clamshell notebook with one non-touch screen for macOS and a touch screen for iPadOS replacing the keyboard and trackpad. I could seriously see myself loving a device like that.

I use my IPAD Mini more then any other Apple product I own. Unless the next IPAD Mini has a better screen and thinner bezels I probably will skip upgrading.
Aspect ratio of your video is not ideal. I do recommend using tv aspect ratio but you might have a better reason.
