OMG, , you do NOT need to remove the steering wheel. These guys are nuts. I have a 2008 F150, found another video that showed replacing it without removing the steering wheel, I just finished doing it, took 15 minutes. I can't believe I almost followed these instructions... lol
I have a Ford Expedition and I was able to remove it without removing the steering wheel. When removing the casing from top and bottom it extends a bit under the wheel, just tug it out.
Sorry 1Aauto but I just installed a switch on my 08 f150 and the steering wheel removal is not necessary. Yes I had to manipulate the covers and bit to disassemble and again to install them but not anything impossible. Didn't break anything in the process. So just an FYI on this matter.
Go to the youtube video where the guy does this without pulling the steering wheel. It was kind of hard to get a couple panels in and out but I did it today with some twisting and pulling pushing and cussing. It took anout 25 minutes.
You can do it without removing the steering wheel but it’s a bit more difficult and you’ll almost break things I did it with the steering wheel on but if I had that puller I would’ve took it off just makes things easier
what the fk???????,,,you dont have to do all that sht,,,if its your own personal truck or if you care about ecstatics ,,go ahead and follow this,,but the only thing that makes you do all this is the inner lips on the steering cover,,,just trim that sht when reinstalling and it will slide back easy,,,,wont even know they cut since the steering wheel covers it,,,,,
Thanks 1A Auto Parts! Just replaced the turn signal lever on my 06' F150. This video guided me through the entire way! Excellent! It's only fair to buy parts from 1A Auto after they share their knowledge and experience to help people out! Thumbs up!

Just finished this job. I took my time and it took about an hour since it was my first time through. My 2006 was similar although the connections on the switch were slightly different, it was still nearly identical. I didn't have a spring in the switch although the switch and mounting bracket had 'nibs' for a spring to centre on. I don't know if I ever had a spring but I could find none that fell out and there was none in the old one. The new switch operates as the old one...minus the glitch it on the right turn signal...so I think all is good. Great video which I followed step by step using an iPad in my truck as I worked. I did not have or need a wheel puller...just give the wheel a good yank at top, bottom, right, left and repeat until loose, it won't take long.
+ibajs2 Thanks for watching. If any of our viewers needs to make this repair, we carry the replacement headlights shown in this video on our website. Here's a link to them www.1aauto.com/ford-f150-truck-turn-signal-and-wiper-switch-lever/i/1azts00207?RUclips&CTA%20Comment&ATony

1A Auto Parts Part has just been ordered. What gets me is the dealer wants $156.29 for the exact same part and they wont even tell you how to install. Keep up the good work fellas!
I am very happy with 1A auto because you stand behind your products with how-to videos and great parts. I replaced my 2004 f-150 multifunction switch with no issues. Thanks, JG
This was an awesome video that saved me hundreds$$$ Woohoo! Just a quick suggestion though to put some tape around the driver and the 8mm screw when putting the airbag back into place. The screws fell inside the wheel and behind the airbag unit for me, so putting a little piece of electrical tape helped.
Absolutely. I did this exact same repair on my ‘07, and I actually overtightened the 8mm screws by the horn/airbag. My neighbors were none too pleased! 😳 All good now though!
Have replaced the switch twice now. First one had the issue with the lever not returning back from rt turn, and delayed wiper feature started activating eventhough it is in the off position. Customer service sent a replacement for that one. Awesome! But, now the replacement for the replacement is malfunctioning with the delayed wiper issue! Ugh!! Not sure what the issue is. Its as simple as unplug old switch then plug in the new. Is the only possible thing to fix the issue is to replace with Ford oem? Pricey! Anyone else have this issue w the wipers? If so, has anybody found a remedy? Thanks in advance.
Just found this, thank you. I suppose I can also replace the right side cruise switch module while I'm in there? My "Coast" button doesn't work. Well, it works once a year!
Just attempted a spark plug change on a 07 Ford F150.....and I'm proud to say.....I GOT 4 OF THE PLUGS CHANGED!!!.....hey...baby steps...but at the same time cause of this video....I was able to change out that lever in 10 minutes flat.....THANK GOD!!!.....AND THANK YOU...
You don’t have to pull the steering wheel to replace the switch it’s a little tricky to get the plastic from around the steering wheel but I’ve done many never pulled the battery cable the fuse or the steering wheel it’s about a 15 min job
Someone help me understand, when I pulled mine out, the spring fell out and it is like an inch and a half long, the one he put in seemed like is was only 3/4 long....
Thank You! Didn't buy your switch but video was a breeze, there's another video without pulling the steering wheel but I opted to so I could clean all the plastics
Thank you 1A Auto. Gonna tackle this project myself now. Whats the likely hood of me needing to replace this spring? On my turn signal when it clicks for the right side, the bulbs wont flash. When i turn the hazards on it wont flash unlesd the truck is off or i get halfway to turning the right signal on. Wanting ti tackle this this weekend
i wanted to say thank you very much for this video. i watched it a few times in preperation. my high beam pull to turn on stopped working. i ordered the part from your website, shipped fast. i watched your videos 4-5 times and then went to yee old harbour of fright to get the tools i was missing and this job actually went really really really incredibly smoothly in comparision to other things i have done. i am NOT a mechanic. when i got the old part off i found the lever was broken and it came all the way out. i did not have a spring however, im not sure if that will make a huge impact ? i re assembled and everything appears to be working flawlessly thank you again
I replaced mine on my truck and initially i made sure everything worked but when i put the plastic pieces all together i went to start the truck and now it just clicks it doesnt turn over. The dash starts acting all weird and i hear clicks coming from the fuse box, can you please help me im not understanding how it even happened it was all fine
+Blendline Motorwerkz We wouldn't be able to diagnose an issue like that here, you may want to have a local mechanic take a look at it. Thanks for checking us out! 1aau.to/m/Shop-1AAuto-c
The instruction is very clear and I was able to replace the switch without any issues. The part perfectly works on my 2004 Ford F-150. Highly recommended to follow exactly this video. Thank you, 1A Auto!
Directions were perfect! My 12yr old daughter did all the work, I just observed. There was a slight difference between cables on 2007 and this model. Video was very thorough, Thanks!
Good video... Gives you an idea outline in what needs to be done. Few things different on a 2006 King Ranch Expedition.. The 2 piece plastic shell is held by the 2 screws for the lower piece and 1 screw for the upper.. Both Phillips head screws... So make sure yours doesn't have the screws up top and yank off it or you will damage the plastic.. Other than that... Worked like a charm... No jaw puller needed... Thanks for the help 1A
+Marco Bravo Thanks for watching. If any of our viewers needs to make this repair, we carry the auto repair part shown in this video on our website. Here is a link to them www.1aauto.com/ford-f150-truck-turn-signal-and-wiper-switch-lever/i/1azts00207?RUclips&CTA+Comment&N5IgaBLzmR4
Ok I need some help...my right turn signal on the dash doesn't light up but I can hear the noise that it's blinking fast. I changed the signal bulb and put a new fuse and it still doesn't work. However, when I put the hazard lights on it works fine (light on dash and the signal blinking outside the car). Could it be the turn signal switch?
Doing this job on a 2005 Expedition limited. Did you just use the steering wheel bolt to snug the steering wheel back on once you lined it up with the shaft?
At the 5:12 time in the video, you take the old spring from the turn signal and place it into the new turn signal. Do you sell this spring separately, mine has been stretched out. Is it necessary, what is it for. I plan on ordering the turn signal but this is my only delay. Thanks.
One question... I have a 2004 f150, and my turning signals turn on but then stop working... It may work for one click then I'll stop... I turn the hazerds and they work.... If I change the switch will this save my problem... Please respond....
1A Auto Parts Just finished installing the new turn signal switch! It was easier than I thought thanks to your well made video. In my 2006 truck one of the connectors on the switch is disconnected down below the steering column; the other two are placed just like in your video. Once again, thanks!
Thanks for the video! SO HELPFUL! Just took apart my 2005 F150 as the headlights were stuck on. I did not need a puller for the steering wheel. Just a few pulls and wiggles from top bottom to side to side and it popped right off. Biggest pain was the clips. take your time and watch the video closely The grey and red tabs are just security pieces that come out and clip in after the plug is in position I discovered. Used a magnetic bit holder and a driver for the air bag screws so they didn't fall down inside and stuck a piece of paper towel between the bit and the screw head to make sure it didn't fall out inside. Also mine was build 11/04 and that is the cut off for the different style switch. I wish I had seen your price before I bought the wrong one on Amazon. Followed another video to fix mine but the tab is so worn down that switches the brights on and off that for now I put it in off position and we just wont touch the bright lever. Just closer up showing the clips would help. I will check with you before I buy a part in the future.
WOW...perfect video!! I can't believe I accomplished this myself with the guidance of your video!! You saved me hundreds! By the way, I bought my part online from 1A Auto....great price and fast shipping. THANK YOU GUYS!

Thanks guys! I bought the part from your website for my 2008 Lariat CrewCab. The connections on the switch was a bit different then this video, but the plugs were still easy and obvious. Everything else went exactly like the video. I would have never tackled this project without your video. Will definitely go to you guys 1st from now on. P.S. To other folks out there attempting this - I didn't have a 2 jaw puller, so I rented one (for free) from my local O'Reillys. They charge a deposit upfront and then give it all back when you return it.
Have a 2002 Navigator. While driving the radio turns off and the wipers go then radio back on. How do I change the wiring harness? I think wires are melted together.
+Diane Adams Thank you for watching. Unfortunately we do not have a video for your application. We will keep this in mind for future repairs. That said, I would recommend checking your ground wire locations in the vehicle. Do a search for "ground locations" for your year, make, model. Weird stuff like this can definitely happen from a corroded, or loose ground strap somewhere in the vehicle. Good luck! www.1AAuto.com 866-403-3393
Thanks for the video!!!! I recently ordered my switch and did the install today. Mine is an '08 so some of the wiring was a little different from the video but the meat of it was definitely there and I received the right part. Video made my life a lot easier and let me hang on to little bit of my money. I will definitely be using you guys again.
I have a 2007 Expedition. Neither the wipers or the wiper fluid pump operate. Fuse is good. I'm thinking its the switch in the turn signal. What part do I need to order and will the Mountanier video apply?
+Sherrie McNutt Thanks for watching, but unfortunately we do not have a turn signal switch that will fit on your 2007 Expedition! The Mountaineer will be a different process as well. 1aauto.com
I have an 06 Expedition. The switch on my vehicle "works" but it has no retention or "springiness" When I turn on my brights. it doesn't click and the arm can swing back and forth freely. It swings so much that often, the brights will be engaged when I use the turn signals. Should I replace the switch or is there a spring or clip that I can get to fix the issue?
+TheRealDJOsk Thank you for viewing! There are mounting bolts behind the steering wheel on these vehicles which would prevent replacement if the steering wheel is not removed. 1aauto.com
Don’t have to take your steering wheel off. This video was VERY helpful, I rented jaw puller from Advance Auto, turns out though that I didn’t have any bolt holes to screw it into when I got to that point. Went back to the tube & found another video… surprised to find out, that I didn’t have to take the steering wheel off in the first place. May make it a little bit simpler to remove & then install the one plastic piece next to it, but it was easy enough with the steering wheel still there.
+pat moon Thank you for your order. If you would like to leave us a review on Google it would be greatly appreciated. Here is a link to our reviews section. Have a great day! goo.gl/i5JFNY

How much hassle was it to replace the lever without removing the entire steering wheel? Thanks in advance!!
Go to the youtube video where the guy does this without pulling the steering wheel. It was kind of hard to get a couple panels in and out but I did it today with some twisting and pulling pushing and cussing. It took anout 25 minutes.
Does this really require removing the steering wheel? Your video on the 05 Mountaineer is very similar yet the airbag and wheel stay on.
You can do it without removing the steering wheel but it’s a bit more difficult and you’ll almost break things I did it with the steering wheel on but if I had that puller I would’ve took it off just makes things easier

Is there a video how to diagnose my stuck turn signal lever on my 2004 Ford Excursion? please help me need feedback, thanks.
Brute 1985 you never mentioned if the steering wheel had to come off
I didn't notice a spring. What would happen you don't replace the spring? I tried looking around and didn't find tha spring.

Just completed without removal of the wheel. The plastics are flexible enough to pop out with a little effort
Thank you for the tips and for watching! +ReedSta4
Could the turn signal switch be replaced on F150 with out removing steering wheel?
Wow remove the mask mitre shearing wheel wtf?? 😆. No way. This is waaaay to much To do here JS it’s 4 bolts 10 minutes
Good video. One thing- I would test to make sure it works correctly before reassembling completely.
Absolutely. I did this exact same repair on my ‘07, and I actually overtightened the 8mm screws by the horn/airbag. My neighbors were none too pleased! 😳 All good now though!
Have replaced the switch twice now.

is removing te steering wheel necessary or was it just done to work with open space?
I have a 2008 E150. Would this solve the issue of my blinker not canceling?
It may be due to a worn turn signal switch.
gracias muy bien el video me ayudo en mucho gracias

+Ryan Kincaid You may need to replace the switch if it is bad. Thanks for watching. 1aauto.com
Is taking the steering wheel off the only way¿
This saved me $350 to $400 in labor quoted by my local Ford dealer. Took me about 45 min on my 08 F150 XLT SCREW . Thank you!

Is it possible to remove only the plastic surrounding the switch, and not have to remove the steering wheel?
+TheRealDJOsk Thank you for viewing! There are mounting bolts behind the steering wheel on these vehicles which would prevent replacement if the steering wheel is not removed. 1aauto.com
Thanks , this video helped me out 👍
thanks for the video, it was a life saver, saved me a boat load of cash. we don't have a 1aauto parts in my area or else you would be my first stop.

08 f150 xl. With the crank windows... exact same process?
+Cam O'Connor It may be a different procedure on your application, but will likely be very similar. Thank you for asking. 1aauto.com
@@1AAuto can you check my comment please i just posted it having some trouble
What if I lost the spring . . .
What do I do if I don’t have the jaw puller
Don’t have to take your steering wheel off. This video was VERY helpful, I rented jaw puller from Advance Auto, turns out though that I didn’t have any bolt holes to screw it into when I got to that point. Went back to the tube & found another video… surprised to find out, that I didn’t have to take the steering wheel off in the first place. May make it a little bit simpler to remove & then install the one plastic piece next to it, but it was easy enough with the steering wheel still there.
Great Video, The Part was great too! Well done! 2008 F150

I have a 2007 Ford Expedition my hazard lights wont shut off already replaced the combination switch any suggestions
+Eli Garza It may be an issue with the lever in the combination switch not turning this off. We recommend getting this diagnosed to ensure nothing else may be the issue.
I changed out the combination switch a few minutes ago and it still does the same symptom
If you are still experiencing the same issue, we suggest getting it professionally diagnosed. +Eli Garza
Will this work for a 2004 Ford expedition?

What if I need a new spring, mine has been hanging there for a while and I think the spring has been stretched out.
Thank you for watching. Unfortunately we do not have a video for your application. We will keep this repair in mind for future videos.

2008 f150 fx4--did it without pulling steering wheel ( bought the wrong type of puller) had to trim the plastic from bottom cover to get it to slide up and in, but can't even tell after reassembly.
It is possible you just gotta wrangle the shit of out the trim
What size wheel puller?
+Butch Good Thank you for watching. We used a two jaw puller, and they are available at any local auto part store. 1aauto.com
