Never heard of adding hummus to soup - how interesting! I do a lot of cooking with chickpeas - will need to try to the hummus trick! Question: where is your amazing bread knife from?? I need a good bread knife for cutting sourdough. I buy a sourdough boule from Whole Foods every week here in NYC, and drop it into their slicing machine they have so mine is all sliced up before I bring it home. Because I was finding it too hard to slice myself. So please do share about the cool knife you use! BTW - love your new kitchen! It’s so pretty and country and designed to be so practical. It’s amazing you were able to design and build your own kitchen in a rental. What a dream!

When rinsing tins I close the lid before shaking so it cleans the lid as well. Hate to waste even that little bit.

Your kitchen is lovely, getting better and better as the weeks go by. I got my dual control from Range Exchange too and they were fantastic. Charlotte was so helpful and knowledgeable and the fitters were on time, polite and cleaned up after themselves! This recipe looks delicious! Thanks Charlie.

Oh the joys of a range cooker, whether its Everhot, Aga, or Rayburn! Really helps to make a house a home and makes the kitchen so cosy. Wouldnt be without ours ( its an electric Everhot and only needs a three pin plug so will take with us when we move). Great soup recipe and demo thanks. Kitchen shaping up nicely

Thanks for the soup recipe -- delicious! I have had an electric dual control for 3 years now. It is my first AGA (they are not so common in the US) and it is brilliant. It has made my life easier and tastier. One tip I was given that I would like to pass on, is with the dual control make sure your towel never hangs over the top left control panel oven. The heat gets trapped between your tea towel and the door and over time will melt off the AGA badge. This won't effect the performance but it is not an attractive look!

I make tomato soup and I always have lots of hummus - either bought or homemade, but I have never thought of putting the two together. Will do so from now on - thanks for the brilliant tip.

Thank you Charlie , will def try the soup it looks delicious. I picked up on the fact that you put the Moussaka in the warming oven to defrost , is this something you can do with most recipes ? I need to batch cook more and utilise the freezer so any tips would be greatly appreciated 🥰

Just a tip for anyone watching. Extra virgin olive oil is really only to be used in salad dressings or dipping with bread etc. Don’t waste it in cooking as you simply lose the taste - just use regular olive oil, it’s a lot LOT cheaper to cook with.
