10 Min DUMBBELL UPPER BODY WORKOUT at Home

  • Upper Body Workout with Dumbbells at Home in 10 Minutes! Grab your dumbbells and a mat and let’s go!
    We will be working our back, chest, shoulders, triceps and biceps with slow and controlled movements throughout!
    The exercises are performed for 40 seconds, with 20 seconds rest before we begin next exercise!
    BENT OVER ROW (hold top for 2 seconds)
    SUPINE ROW (hold at top for 2 seconds)
    SHOULDER PRESS TO IN
    45 DEG RAISE
    ALTERNATING CURLS
    CHEST PRESS (palms away to facing)
    TRICEP PRESS (with 1 pulse)
    FLYES
    PULLOVER
    ALTERNATING REAR FLYES
    Finisher: SINGLE ARM ROW (switch arm at 20 seconds)
    The weight I am using is 2 x 8kg dumbbells.
    Please ensure you fully warm up before beginning.
    I hope you enjoy this Dumbbell Upper Body Workout and really focus on using only the targeted muscles to lift and lower. Really try to control the motion on the way down as much as possible; the slower the better!!

      Just found you . I really like your teaching style! 65 out of shape and with 8 lb weights I can follow along without hurting myself but can still feel the right amount of resistance.

    I have just started lifting. Cancer surgery paralysed my face, head, neck and right shoulder/upper arm. They said physio was "pointless" as the nerves have been severed.
    Nobody tells me I can't do something!!
    So I've been slowly building strength. I can now lift a weight above my head and put things on a high shelf. This is because I've engaged a different set of muscles to do the work. I rely heavily on my lats to move my arm and shoulder. I still lean a little to get the movement but who cares 🤷‍♀️
    Next stop, is to lift 2 weights at the same time. (Leaning makes it difficult to do)

    I’m in recovery for an ed and am currently working on building my muscle back and these help so much! I have never felt stronger in my life. I’m only using 2kg weights but I hope I can build up to 5kg soon

    Your videos are so well organized. I find myself getting excited to workout! I had some tears in my eyes after one of your workouts because something told me I have found an answer to my desire for a feminine and muscular body! Your workouts feel very right. I go to the gym but I don’t know the first thing about proper form or how to maneuver through all the weight machines.     I used to work out 40-60 minutes a day, but took it down a notch for a few months and tried some different creators 10-30 minute workouts. just came back to this one and I now remember your amazing aura, and I cant wait to get back to your longer workouts. Thanks!!

      @@Okayme8080 workouts are meant to tone the body. Combining that with a calorie deficit which comes from eating healthy more and doing some cardio will help slim you

    I'm 55 and have just started your dumbbell workouts. I've been taken aback at how quickly I've lost my muscle mass especially in my arms where I was always proud of my muscle definition. It's been a while since lifting so I found your workouts and I'm week one in and already enjoying the familiar muscle burn and now muscle soreness that I remember so just need to push past that. I'll keep you posted to my progress and a big thanks to you for the variety in your workouts, keeps me coming back! xo

    I love this workout!
    I don't think any other workout has helped me that much in fixing muscle imbalances. I feel like my quality of life has improved since I included it in my workout sessions.

      These are my daily workouts and I always do HIIT Sunday morning!! And a 1 hour full body every Friday! I change it up during the week so could be core or triceps etc! I hope you find lots of fun, challenge yourself and grow stronger!

    For so long I was searching RUclips to look for a back workout that doesn’t involve doing push ups with the dumbbells as my dumbbells are rounded and not flat. And of corse Queen Caroline has done it again. You never seem to disappoint! Thank you for this vid! It’s A1 ❤️

    Your work outs are fantastic. I just discovered you on RUclips. I’ve tried quite a few workout channels and you are the best. I like to get into “my zone” and I don’t like to hear too much talk. Your nonverbal cues are spot on and the music doesn’t grate my nerves. I’ve been strength training consistently for 5 years then the gym closed and it’s been hard to stay motivated.     Caroline my 15 year old daughter jaw dropped when she saw how fit you are. So we started googling “how often does Caroline Girvan workout in a day? What diet does Caroline Girvan eat in a regular day?” Of course we couldn’t find an answer but we had a good laugh because of our silliness.
    But for real Caroline I am sure many of your fans wonder about the same thing? You look incredible yet still very feminine. You just seem to have found the balance between good physique and keeping you femininity.

      Tell your daughter I said hi!
      I eat a very normal healthy diet! I eat protein with every meal, whole grains, lots of veg, eat my fruit rather than drink it, nuts, Greek yoghurt.. all the good stuff!! I love my Saturday night takeaway of course! Balance for me! And eating mostly unprocessed during the week is what normally I intake then come weekends I eat out and enjoy the finer things! And always hydrate!! 💓👊🏼

      @@CarolineGirvan How much daily and weekly exercise do you do to have your awesome toned muscles? I think a lot of us probably give up when we dont results quicky. What is a realistic timeframe to get results and start seeing the muscle tone?

    I like when the videos are short and work on one-two muscle groups only as sometimes I only have 10-15 minutes but I love when we work a certain muscle or muscle group to exhaustion! Also I love your workouts and like to do them daily so when they work a different part, it is easier for me to pick one.

I've been a Girvan addict for the last almost 2 years doing all your series and 2 weeks before Fuel ended I had a heart attack and got covid!     Just wanted to pop in and say how much these videos have helped me keep enjoying exercising and keep getting stronger! I started weight training about a year ago, primarily following Caroline's videos. I've gone from 8 lbs weights to just starting with 12 lbs today!       I know this comment was posted 2022 I asking this question in 2024 when you use your 8 pound weights did you see a difference? That’s what I’m going to use. I have other weights but they are too for my squatting.

    Amazing pace to this workout ! I’m just getting back into exercise after having a baby and this is exactly what I needed ! I had attempted a longer session and was so discouraged when my stamina wasn’t allowing me to finish the workout. This is so customizable to fit everyone’s unique needs. I finished this one!!woohoo!!!

    I Love using this as a finisher for most workouts. At 50+ I need to keep the bingo wings at bay 😂

    I really enjoyed this upper body workout. During lockdown I completed the Couch to 5 K and have kept up the running but well aware at 47yrs needed to work the whole body. I have just discovered Caroline and so thankful that I have. A quick but effective workout when you are short on time but big on enthusiasm for the body you once had. Thank you

    Joyful and strong new year! I have been following your workouts for a while and I absolutely kove them. I feel greatful that you are sharing all of these and in such a beautiful way. I feel inspired during and after each workout. I love how you often match your flowers with your outfit or the other way around. Thank you for what you do and for sharing it.     I like these short sessions. Where I’d bypass a half-hour because I’m not feeling it, I can muster through ten minutes. Every little bit helps.

    Short and effective workout. This is a great workout to do during your lunch break, if you're short on time in the morning, or if you get back late from work and aren't in the mood for a long workout. A little goes a long way. Thanks Caroline!

    You came highly recommended to me, so today I gave this back workout a go using 2kg dumbbells.
    Omg, seriously, never before have I felt this good after a back workout!

    this was the first video i've ever done of yours and i really enjoyed it!! it's really difficult for me to build arms but this didn't feel like over or under working them. also loved how you kept each set of reps short and there were no repeats, because it was interesting enough to keep me focused but still felt super meditative. thank you!!

    Caroline, first a big thank you for the great workouts you do. I have been doing your workouts for over two months, and now, sunddenly I can always "find" time to workout.
    Soon will be Christmas and my daugther -and I- decided that it is better for her not to fly to come home and stay safe. It's sad, but I dont feel lonely because I know it's the most sensible option AND besides, your workouts always make me feel good and lift my mood. Happy Holidays and many Blessings.     Just did this as I’m re-starting weight workouts at home on days I don’t do a Zoom group “Corture” (core, stretch, balance + torture) workout followed by a short core AMRAP w/my weight vest & dbs. I always appreciate your perfect form, pace, range of motion and combo of exercises. I’m likely to switch to the app once I get my workout habit established with no injurious side effects (migraines). Thank you, you are a world treasure!
