Splendid. There is no comparison to Shri Santhanam. He is the real Master. His knowledge on the Raga and the way explains the intricacies in his own imitable way is awesome. The more number of times you listen to him, the more you would yearn to hear once again.

Prostrations to a great artist Santhanagopan sir, V much enlightening, for all Rasikas Wish more and more such elaborations on less-heard renditions.
I enjoy his music and I think he is by birth a teacher.
He brings out the folkish effect of Huseni very well. Just enjoyed it :-)
A lession session
I have heard that His Guru T N Seshagopalan sir got a tambura award in his younfger days in Madurai sathguru samajam for singing impromptu RTP in Huseni !

With out waiting any further,I suggest on behalf of Rasikas,that Music Academy should award NSG with " Sangeetha Acharya" Award in Dec.2014,as Music Academy has started giving Sangeetha Kalanidhi award to youngsters from this year onwards. Every one knows that NSG is the most deserving person for the Acharya award. Please dont wait till he completes 60. This would be my request to MMA, as an ardent fan of carnatic music for the last 40 years.

Very educative and entertaining as always! Sri Santhanagopalan has researched well, selected many appropriate kritis that fit the "Sa Pa Sa" theme, and shared them with us. Srimati Narmada Gopalakrishnan excels in her accompaniment. Particularly enjoyed Kesari, Huseini, Swayapratapavarali, and Jingla. Rare and beautiful ragas and kritis. Thanks for bringing them to the world audience.

I have heard that, Neyveli Sir's guru T N Seshagopalan sir got a Tambura Price in his younger days for singing a RTP in Huseni on the spot in a competition without preparation.

Artificial singing
Vipanchika or vipanchi is given as lute in Apte's dictionary. NSG is a much learned man in CM, Samskritam, philosophy, Tamizh. One should check before making light comments.
sir you can check in any text that goddess's veena has a particular name KACCHAPI and VIPANCHI is a word used in NANA ARTHAS(multiple meanings to a single words) as a word depicting VEENA as a student of Sanskrit language,i humbly feel that I have right to provide the correct information this is not to make light of brahmasriSNTANAGOPALAN who is one among few blessed souls who get the great previlage of initiated into the SRIVIDYA worship OF AMBAL so don't think I meant ill for him I was pained that the great man was stating the incorrect meaning

agreed that mr.santhanagopalan is a great manodharma singer but the problem with his voice is that he does intonate the words clearly,i.e., his is not an open mouthed singing so that it reaches straight to the listeners' ear how I wish he changes his voice culture so that he is clearly audible to people
Mulugu neelotpal Wow sir! In your rendition I also noticed how you said Suramuni "Paaram" instead of "Paalam". Since you hail from a scholarly family and are a scholar yourself- You should invent a time machine and go correct Mr Mutthuswamy Deekashithar. He is not upto your mark in enunciation.
Also what a great dive into Aarabhi during the sustain at the end of Anu pallavi and Samashti Charanam. WOW. Just WOW. You should go to Chennai and teach all those senior musicians that do not know how to deviate from Ragams. You can inculcate this beautiful habit in them.

on a lighter note I think he should get his basics right! in an interview about BRINDAMMA,he compared her voice to GODEESS SARASWATHI'S VEENA naming it VIPANCHI which is another word in Sanskrit to veena,but the name of the goddess' veena is KACCHAPI not vipanchi as he says in the documentary on BRINDAMMA
Mulugu neelotpal Mr Neelotpal. Before asking a GREAT musician to check his basics- YOU should. Saraswathi Devi's Veena is indeed called Vipanchee.
You're clearly going about trolling this great music scholar and performer by picking on his endearing mannerisms.
Please post a video of your singing so that we can see how perfect you are and follow your footsteps.

swee wan I belong to a scholarly family of sanskrit scholars for four generations and veda panditha s so it is a natural thing to get swara and tala perfect enunciation anyway I have a feeling of happiness that you realised your mistake of commenting randomly feel free to ask questions about clear enunciation in future
