Agree with observations of Shri. Mulugu Neelotpal. Have attended Malladi Brothers concerts in the past ten years. Not one concert was disappointing. Their Sahitya Shuddham, Swara Shuddham, arithmetic, melody ,amazing repertoire, RTPs' are a treat to discerning rasikas. Right from the start till the end I am taken to a different plane full of tranquillity, divine enjoyment. Their gurukulavasam had been under legendary greats late Sangeetha Brahmarishi Pinakapani and Sangeetha Kalanidhi Neduneri.. Their own hardwork and godgiven voice had taken tem to the top slot. They are on the top slot on merits.
The slokam and kriti in Dwijavanthi rendered by the Malladi Brothers is simply priceless! These brothers are thus far one of the best artists I have heard perform. Kudos from the Upper Midwestern United States.

Musically, this is certainly a great concert. But there is too much emphasis on pseudo-religious and superstitious content -- ideas which don't even have a solid basis in Hindu scriptures. This kind of programming leads to wrong branding for Carnatic music. Instead of taking Carnatic music to all sections of society, it keeps away people who don't share these beliefs. Can you imagine a devout muslim or christian listening to this concert? I hope Jaya TV and the organizers will take this into consideration for the coming years.

Ganapati Sacchidananda of Mysore has been successful in doing some research on various ragas....Yes, there is scriptural evidence that talks about the benefits of listening to various ragas. Medical Jyothish does recommend Ragas for various types of persons and types of illnesses.
Nothing wrong in what he said. He felt the ragam has therapeutic effects. It is up to us to take it or leave it. Music unites. Don't we have Yesudas who sings carnatic music so well. Devotional too!

If they like it, they shd accept it as a whole, or just leave it back and move on....we cannot change our believes and religious beliefs (pseudo-religious and superstitious, as per yr comment, for which we don't care) for the sake of people from other religions who don't believe in our religion! If they like it, they are most welcome to accept it as it is, though!

கணேசன் 1729...it is a total package....it does not matter what you feel abt it. Take it or leave it! Same applies to anybody! If they like it, they shd accept it as a whole, or just leave it back and move on....we cannot change our believes and religious beliefs (pseudo-religious and superstitious, as per yr comment, for which we don't care) for the sake of people from other religions who don't believe in our religion! If they like it, they are most welcome to accept it as it is, though!
