It is imperative that we fight if we must to protect the BWCA. If it gets destroyed or impaired, it can never be restored. Never. The danger it faces and the damage that it would likely cause would be irreversible.
Nate, I live in MN and only discovered the BWCA 2 years ago, after years of my husband prodding me to go. He grew up going there. Thank you for this incredible video, and for taking the time to turn the volume of beautiful, carefully chosen music down to a bare minimum at times during your video to truly capture the magnificent silence of the gift of the boundary waters wilderness. I can't wait for more of your pivotal you tube work.
No place like it on Earth... every time I go, I leave a changed and better person. You did the Lady of the lakes and the old man of the woods justice with this production. Respect!
For 7 mins, watching your video, I could sit still and feel the serenity of this stunning wilderness and literally feel my heart slow down and my mind relax… thank you ☺️
This better captures what it’s like to be there than any other video I’ve seen on here. I went to the BWCA before I ever went to any National Park, and I appreciate what you say at the front, here there is no single, sublime, majestic feature you can photograph and pass around. Its sublimeness is in its peaceful thereness, and you reveal that succinctly.
Beautiful! I am taking backpacking trips to Michigan and Colorado this year but I really should plan a return to Boundary Waters as I haven't been there since I was a teenager.
Which entry point did you take? And whats the location of that waterfall? I've gone in the past and would like to take my wife on the next trip... she loves waterfalls.
I'm planning a trip to the BW this summer! Curious about your thoughts on bringing camera gear after the fact. I've never taken my expensive gear to these risky kind of conditions. Any tips, tricks, advice?
I bought a dedicated dry bag and put a Shimoda camera cube inside, and that was plenty for me! 95% of the time the camera is just sitting there (especially while paddling) so the only time you really need protection is while portaging.

Kathy, thank you. This is a beautiful comment, I'm glad I could touch home for you ❤
Best part… “love of my life.” Glad you could spend such an amazing trip together.
She's alright, that one.

I took you on your first trip to the BWCA, but sure, this time you chose to take a beautiful woman. Smart man! Well done, son.
