You definitely have some of the best fishing content on RUclips!
Especially for Minnesota content no ones catching quality fish like this on the regular on RUclips
Agreed, easily best videos
100% agree👍🏼
I don't see anyone else on youtube consistently catch four plus pound smallmouth this guy is insane.
@@blakeross2852 doesn't he live or fish anyways mostly in north Dakota
Not a hyped redbull junkie...just calm chill and get to hear all the nature. Love it man. Thank you thank you!
redbull junkie ! funny, yeah he's the Bob Ross of fishing ! LOL Once I found Matt I don't have any interest in any other actually other than informational vids from manufactures and Bassresource forum . All the hype of lures, rods and reels and such really doesn't matter. I mean some of the crazy lures he used is proof that fish don't really care, for the most part, what you toss in front of them. He doesn't indulge on gear, just shares what he uses and that he likes them, and see how they work, and moves on. Doesn't overload you with info. Layed back guy, easy and enjoyable to watch. I learn alot from Matt.
Confishus say, "Tis better to catch a big smallie than a small biggie."
i've become a big fan of your vids man, you keep it so real.
Subscribe to my only fans if u wanna see some real 🎣
💯🤘 for real tho broo
Anyone who loves the outdoors and fishing needs to see the Boundary Waters area of Minnesota. It is a pristine area. It is like time forgot about it. The beauty of it along with the calm and serenity is something hard to find elsewhere. This is definitely the best fishing channel there is on RUclips.
What an amazing place! There's something hypnotic about watching the scenery while listening to the paddles cut through the water.
True story
Hey look, it's Backroads Angling! I heard that guy caught a 15 lb hybrid striper
@@EngineeringHooksets I heard he put lead inside it.
@@BackroadsAngling Unsubscribing if that's true 😢
compared to where I live with trash and runoff, it's paradise where Matt lives even near suburbia. I like when he mentions how clear the water is !
that first bass was just chill like you held him up and he's just "catch and release right? alrighty, have a good day" and gently swims away
I need this kind of thing in my life pronto. Camping lakeside, and kayak fishing. You sir, have found paradise.
I'll always remember the smell and sound of heavy rain on a calm lake in the Boundary Waters. The smell of the fire in the cabin where we dried out and waited to eat was just as good. The lodge was owned by a family that had kids that were exactly our ages. The one that was my age was a very pretty girl. Her name was Peggy. Ha! You never know that you're having the best time of your life when you're that young. I remember it often when I'm falling asleep. After long consideration, the only thing I'd change is that I'd want all of my dogs there with us. Thanks for the video. I'll be watching it again.
Awesome video from my favorite fishing youtuber. Simple humble guy who respects the fish doesnt keep them out of the water for an hour love it
Good Evening . My son and I are true fans of your channel! :-) I've learned alot from your tips and advice. Thank You My Fellow Fisherman, YOU are Truely An Ausome Person!
Keep A Tight Line My Fellow Fisherman! Sincerely, Mr. Carl J. Gwizdala
Your so calm and gentle with the fish.Amazing fishermen
That whopper plopper sound is so damn peaceful.
Two thumbs up....BWCA smallies are on my bucket list.
You would have to drag me off that lake. So scenic!
Beautiful scenery, beautiful smallies, doesn't get much better.
I’m addicted to this channel, Iv watched like 7 of your videos tonight alone , your my favorite fishing channel on youtube!
Dude, not only are you skilled enough to pull in 4lb smallies, the fish are trained to jump in your ‘yak! That was a sweet moment - thanks for a beautiful recap of your two day trip!
The Boundary Waters are so special. Great paddling and fishing. It is the southernmost part of the vast Canadian Shield . We would go there every summer when I was a boy. Thanks for the reminder of things special.
To this day these are my favorite two fishing videos. I hope to see you do something like this again someday and thanks for the great content always !
Looks alot like the Adirondacks near me.
Nothing like the cry of a loon in the evening to give you a calm feeling.
Another great video, thanks.
And thanks for the link to those beefy forceps I have been looking for.
My favorite fishing channel.
Keep up the great work.
Where are you I the adk’s? I live in Peru.
My dad caught a 9 pound LMB off of a spider web on deadwood. He hung his lure over the web between two deadwood trees and it jumped out of the water and destroyed it. One of the wildest catches I have ever seen. We also caught one in a similar fashion with the lure laying over the boat just like your yak, pretty wild for sure.
Ive taken 17 groups of kids to the boundary waters - So nice and once you start paddling we didn't see more than 2 persons on a 10 day trip. So pretty
thanks for the interlude, Matt. The ambient sound on these two was really fine.
When I'm having a stressful day...I come right to your channel. It really helps...
I was there at the exact same time as you! Tons of walleye with the biggest at 24.25” and quite a few 4lb smallies.
can you share where that place is? very beautiful nature
@@sonicsonic6467 It's Lake Nonya Bizness. 😎
@@nathansears3813 douche
Can you please tell me what lake this is
@@sonicsonic6467 Sonic, you can go to any lake in the BWCA and get the same beauty-- doesn't matter which lake. The fishing's good in all of them.
great trip man! I will be up there for my first time this summer. boy your video has me pumped to hit the water
Wow my eyes are full beautiful place small mouth loons calling so peaceful. Thanks for capturing and sharing.
Nature+kayak+ topwatwer=PERFECT!!!!
I can watch and listen to you fish all day Matt. I deff enjoyed pt.2. All beautiful and quality fish every single one as always though. Deff can’t wait to see you on the next one.
Btw you and I, love how you allowed the moth to collect himself on the back of yak☺️.
Beautiful country. Love seeing the smooth water and watching the beautiful scenery.
Thx for sharing..
I love everything about this video, from the scenery to the calm voice, to the actual sound of the Whopper Plopper cutting through the water. I would throw that thing in a dugout just to hear it come across the water. We don't have any bass where I am, but I'm tempted to buy that thing just for the zen of it.
Awesome trip enjoyed the scenery as much as the fishing, you always do a great job. Thanks
The accuracy this guy has is insane!!
i like it that you always release the fish you caught, even saving a moth out of the water. nice, man. God bless you n family, thanks for the very experienced yet relaxing video
How does the channel not have more subs? Thanks for putting this together and sharing it with us. Those fish are all studs, what an awesome place.

I love morning fishing, majestic
This channel will definitely cut down on my tv time. So tranquil
Nothing like the sound of a bait caster. 👍
@NDYakAngler , you have such a beautiful soul. Thanks for taking us along for the ride. I feel so immersed and relaxed watching your videos. Your editing skills are a work of art. Keep it up, man. You put out gold.
Awsome place, beautiful time, a very good moment with you ! fantastic again , thank's a lot !!
I absolutely love watching your videos..so does my 3 year old..every night when she lays down she says she wants to watch the fishy man..its a win win for everyone.
Yeah that was gorgeous Country around that water n the Bass were as healthy as they come!!!
That intro...was EPIC!!! I love how you always start you videos with the sound of nature! 🤗
I like when he mentioned his grandpa, and used his frog lure vid ! When he got choked up about it, It made me choke up too !
There's just something about your videos that makes me want to sit back and drink a cold one while I watch.
When you open your tent and have that view, awesome!
Nice fish. Would love to come up and fish some of those waters. All alone on those waters is a plus. Enjoyed watching.
I love the Boundary Waters!!!
The "Bob Ross" of fishing. Great video
Beautiful place Nature and you are so good fishing i Enjoy all you Video thanks for share
That (and the first one) was a fabulous treat. Thanks for bringing me along!
Another great video. You are the reason I started yaking this past spring. The memories I have in just 1 season of it are priceless. Thanks for the inspiration
I love where you get to fish. It looks absolutely incredible!
That lakes looks like a sheet of glass. Beautiful.
Your like the Bob Ross of fishing 🎣 I like your videos because there good and relaxed..
This scene, it's like fishing inside a Bob Ross painting.
What a spot and day! Awesome!
what an amazing place to get to spend time in the outdoors and to be able to catch some amazing fish!
If any other youtuber caught the size fish you did and the amount of fish you did theyd be screaming the whole video and clickbaiting the shit out of it, your simple and way better than the rest, i appreciate your channel.
It’s good to watch this. I grew up fishing those northern shield lakes. I’ve been in western ND for 10 years so I even enjoy the sound of the birds. It’s funny, almost no one (myself included) fish for smallies up there. If anything we complain when it’s hard to get the lure past them to walleye depth hahaha! Not sure if you use a polarized lens but it’s great to see bottom on cam.
Excellent content, thanks for posting!
Any of the bigger smallmouths that you catch on a regular basis would be a smallmouth of a lifetime for me! Absolutely love your vids =)
quality fish need quality food source. The abundant craws tells it all.
I concede my 'Bass Master' title to you.
Wow! Great job on your videos, I am really enjoying them. Just bought a kayak, maybe one day I can travel to some Minnesota waters..
Pretty fish bro bonus on the largie sweet
holy mother, those are some mondos!!
Man your videos are amazing there calming, there instructional, they are very enjoyable to watch and make me Want to get out and work these north Arkansas waterways for smallmouth. Thanx for letting us watch you man.
Great editing on these videos, anytime I want to chill your my go to,👍
Therapeutics my friend, smallmouth fishing is amazing.
You are blessed to catch those smallies
Fantastic vicarious tag along. I watch a lot of fishing videos; yours are the best. Thanks for sharing. God bless.
Wow what a fishing trip. Super nice smallmouth.
Amazing!!!! I have got to make it up there someday!!!!
Catch myself watching your videos over and over. Thanks for the effort
Wow. That would be the trip of a lifetime for me. Really great fishing and footage!
Another great video. I’ve never seen a bass jump out of the water like that. Couldn’t resist the squiggly shadow on the surface I guess.
Great video.Well done.
I first went to the BWCA in 1977.Went just about every year or two until my boys graduated from high school in 1999 and 2001.Want to go back with my grandsons in a couple years. Can't wait to show them God's country.Thanks.
Go now, sh*t happens
The Bob Ross of fishing living inside a Bob Ross painting...
What a pretty Lake, thank you for allowing me to tag along
Man this immediately went into my favorites collection. Holy cow what an amazing trip in a gorgeous location! I have seen heaven, and it looks pretty much just like this.
Love that opening shot
Thats a perfect lake and camping, enjoy it and hopefully one day I will be able to go there.
Beautiful up there!! Awesome day on the water for you.
What an absolutely amazing place to fish! Making all of us jealous catching 5 pound smallies with that backdrop!
Really appreciate your content, thanks again for all your hard work.
Love this kind of video! Definitely would want to see more
Went to the boundary waters 2 years ago today.. beautiful country
Now I know I’m not the only with fish jump scares lol.
Wow! You catch in a day what I catch in maybe 3 years. Impressive!
Love the bwca and Quetico. Been many times and the beauty, solitude, and wildlife are a treat to enjoy, not to mention the great fishing! Thx for a great video Matt.
You have the best kayak fishing videos! Love all your videos. You don't get loud and obnoxious or over dramatic catching nice ones. Would like to see more crappie fishing videos though. Keep up the great vids!
Good day...just recently started watching your channel, I’m enjoying it very much.
I haven’t fished bass in quite a while, they’re not a prevalent species in the area where I live...these last couple of vids have inspired me to get my fly rod out and try a couple spots this weekend, I’d forgotten how much fun Small Mouth are to catch. So long from the North Shore, Lake Superior 🇨🇦, and thx!
One of my favorite sounds is hooking up the hemos and the click made when the hook pops out of the fishs mouth...well done ..that lake reminds me of one huge creek..dang!!!
I enjoy this, he exudes peace
Wow Matt, just wow. God I miss Maine. Hope to be back home in time for some Fall action in my new yak.
The BW is something awesome. Can’t wait to go back.
