redbull junkie ! funny, yeah he's the Bob Ross of fishing ! LOL Once I found Matt I don't have any interest in any other actually other than informational vids from manufactures and Bassresource forum . All the hype of lures, rods and reels and such really doesn't matter. I mean some of the crazy lures he used is proof that fish don't really care, for the most part, what you toss in front of them. He doesn't indulge on gear, just shares what he uses and that he likes them, and see how they work, and moves on. Doesn't overload you with info. Layed back guy, easy and enjoyable to watch. I learn alot from Matt.
Anyone who loves the outdoors and fishing needs to see the Boundary Waters area of Minnesota. It is a pristine area. It is like time forgot about it. The beauty of it along with the calm and serenity is something hard to find elsewhere. This is definitely the best fishing channel there is on RUclips.
I'll always remember the smell and sound of heavy rain on a calm lake in the Boundary Waters. The smell of the fire in the cabin where we dried out and waited to eat was just as good. The lodge was owned by a family that had kids that were exactly our ages. The one that was my age was a very pretty girl. Her name was Peggy. Ha! You never know that you're having the best time of your life when you're that young. I remember it often when I'm falling asleep. After long consideration, the only thing I'd change is that I'd want all of my dogs there with us. Thanks for the video. I'll be watching it again.
Good Evening . My son and I are true fans of your channel! :-) I've learned alot from your tips and advice. Thank You My Fellow Fisherman, YOU are Truely An Ausome Person! Keep A Tight Line My Fellow Fisherman! Sincerely, Mr. Carl J. Gwizdala
The Boundary Waters are so special. Great paddling and fishing. It is the southernmost part of the vast Canadian Shield . We would go there every summer when I was a boy. Thanks for the reminder of things special.
Looks alot like the Adirondacks near me. Nothing like the cry of a loon in the evening to give you a calm feeling. Another great video, thanks. And thanks for the link to those beefy forceps I have been looking for. My favorite fishing channel. Keep up the great work.
Dude, not only are you skilled enough to pull in 4lb smallies, the fish are trained to jump in your ‘yak! That was a sweet moment - thanks for a beautiful recap of your two day trip!
My dad caught a 9 pound LMB off of a spider web on deadwood. He hung his lure over the web between two deadwood trees and it jumped out of the water and destroyed it. One of the wildest catches I have ever seen. We also caught one in a similar fashion with the lure laying over the boat just like your yak, pretty wild for sure.
I can watch and listen to you fish all day Matt. I deff enjoyed pt.2. All beautiful and quality fish every single one as always though. Deff can’t wait to see you on the next one. Btw you and I, love how you allowed the moth to collect himself on the back of yak☺️.
I love everything about this video, from the scenery to the calm voice, to the actual sound of the Whopper Plopper cutting through the water. I would throw that thing in a dugout just to hear it come across the water. We don't have any bass where I am, but I'm tempted to buy that thing just for the zen of it.
@NDYakAngler , you have such a beautiful soul. Thanks for taking us along for the ride. I feel so immersed and relaxed watching your videos. Your editing skills are a work of art. Keep it up, man. You put out gold.
i like it that you always release the fish you caught, even saving a moth out of the water. nice, man. God bless you n family, thanks for the very experienced yet relaxing video
Another great video. You are the reason I started yaking this past spring. The memories I have in just 1 season of it are priceless. Thanks for the inspiration
I absolutely love watching your videos..so does my 3 year old..every night when she lays down she says she wants to watch the fishy man..its a win win for everyone.
If any other youtuber caught the size fish you did and the amount of fish you did theyd be screaming the whole video and clickbaiting the shit out of it, your simple and way better than the rest, i appreciate your channel.
Love the bwca and Quetico. Been many times and the beauty, solitude, and wildlife are a treat to enjoy, not to mention the great fishing! Thx for a great video Matt.
Great video.Well done. I first went to the BWCA in 1977.Went just about every year or two until my boys graduated from high school in 1999 and 2001.Want to go back with my grandsons in a couple years. Can't wait to show them God's country.Thanks.
It’s good to watch this. I grew up fishing those northern shield lakes. I’ve been in western ND for 10 years so I even enjoy the sound of the birds. It’s funny, almost no one (myself included) fish for smallies up there. If anything we complain when it’s hard to get the lure past them to walleye depth hahaha! Not sure if you use a polarized lens but it’s great to see bottom on cam. Excellent content, thanks for posting!
Man your videos are amazing there calming, there instructional, they are very enjoyable to watch and make me Want to get out and work these north Arkansas waterways for smallmouth. Thanx for letting us watch you man.
Man this immediately went into my favorites collection. Holy cow what an amazing trip in a gorgeous location! I have seen heaven, and it looks pretty much just like this.
One of my favorite sounds is hooking up the hemos and the click made when the hook pops out of the fishs mouth...well done ..that lake reminds me of one huge creek..dang!!!
Love your videos! Very calm and professional and most of all you know your stuff!! Can tell you really live for fishing! Keep up the content and thanks for sharing with us all.
You have the best kayak fishing videos! Love all your videos. You don't get loud and obnoxious or over dramatic catching nice ones. Would like to see more crappie fishing videos though. Keep up the great vids!
I have been watching several of your videos recently and have enjoyed every one. I have been mostly a live bait, still fisherman all my life but recently learning the art of using lures, mostly Senkos and have had luck but a lot of learning yet to go. Keep these videos coming. Love them.
I was just up there a few weeks ago and I caught my first decent sized fish ever (I’m 14). It was a 4.1 pound smallmouth using a leech and just a regular hook.
I was up there like 25+ years ago, with Boy Scouts. We were up there for like 10 days IIRC, and we ventured up into the Questico as well. It's so freakin gorgeous and serene up there!! Pure wilderness, virtually untouched by humans. I long to go back. I bet plenty of the fish (and other wildlife) up there have never even HEARD of humans, particularly as you get deeper in.
Not a hyped redbull junkie...just calm chill and get to hear all the nature. Love it man. Thank you thank you!

Confishus say, "Tis better to catch a big smallie than a small biggie."
What an amazing place! There's something hypnotic about watching the scenery while listening to the paddles cut through the water.
True story
Hey look, it's Backroads Angling! I heard that guy caught a 15 lb hybrid striper
@@EngineeringHooksets I heard he put lead inside it.

compared to where I live with trash and runoff, it's paradise where Matt lives even near suburbia. I like when he mentions how clear the water is !

I need this kind of thing in my life pronto. Camping lakeside, and kayak fishing. You sir, have found paradise.

that first bass was just chill like you held him up and he's just "catch and release right? alrighty, have a good day" and gently swims away
Awesome video from my favorite fishing youtuber. Simple humble guy who respects the fish doesnt keep them out of the water for an hour love it

That whopper plopper sound is so damn peaceful.
Ive taken 17 groups of kids to the boundary waters - So nice and once you start paddling we didn't see more than 2 persons on a 10 day trip. So pretty
