I got the Pixel 6 Pro late November, never had any problems that everyone else seems to have. I have the AT&T version of the phone. I will admit, the fingerprint scanner takes a second to register your thumb, but other than that, performance is fine, camera is great, frames are consistent. Nothing to complain about. Pixel 6 (non-pro) user here. Only issue I've experience since getting my phone has been related to the in-screen finger print reader. Sometimes it doesn't read my finger at all, other times it takes a few attempts. Maybe 50% of the time it works perfectly. That experience has gotten better with each update, but still isn't where it should be.

I've had the Pixel 6 since launch. I've had none of these serious issues they bring up. The fingerprint scanner is a bit slow but that's literally my only gripe. The only bug I can think of is sometimes the keyboard will stay up when it shouldn't. Other than that this is honestly my favorite phone since the S9. Battery life is fantastic. It’s beyond my understanding how it’s possible, but I’ve had no issues with my 6 pro. The entire workflow is smoother, yes. But it has always been very very nice ever since the day I got it. The camera seems to have improved in its consistency. And now it consistently does better than the 13 pro max which is an absolute killer of a phone camera. Video is great now. Noise levels seem to be lower and photos were always just better on the Pixel IMO.

I have the Pixel 6 pro, and everything about it has been perfect with the exception of Bluetooth. Currently, there is a huge problem with support for LDAC at 990Kbps, it makes it so that any person trying to experience high-quality audio through music streaming services such as tidal and apple music cannot do so due to software bugs that make it very stuttery and unusable. So far Google hasn't acknowledged this. I've also heard the external DACS for wired headphones are also having major issues at not playing at correct bit rates.

    • @giygas_9577
      @giygas_9577 2 года назад +5

Not to mention using LDAC frequently makes sound come out of only my right earbud (Sony XM4) and I have to cycle noise cancelling on and off to fix it. I could just use AAC instead, but I really would rather use LDAC.

However since I am based in EU 5G does not work... Or works in some part of Europe... but in others it doesn't... I dunno, it has to do with Google and their idiotism.

I was so excited for the pixel 6, I anticipated it for a year and got it day one. I was so let down. So many bugs and crashes. The camera should have been knocking things out of the park but the pics looked way oversaturated and not nearly as good as my old pixel 3a (in my opinion). Also some of the features that I was really looking forward to like voicemail transcription weren't available (I tried but it seemed like they were only available to google fi users? Maybe I just didn't look hard enough).

I switched from the S21U to the GP6P and it was the best thing I ever did. I hated that the SGS21U did not stop the spam calls. I hated that Bixby wanted to takeover every time I talked to the phone. I hated that my timers never worked if I was using the Google clock app. I hated that Samsung felt the need to duplicate all of the really stellar Google apps. I hated that the voice to text could not hold a candle to that same feature on the GP6P. It was heavy and uncomfortable to use with one hand for extended periods of time. Could not stand using the edge of the phone to store quick apps. And, there's much more about Sammy software that could not compare to Pixel software. I hate that there's always something that you have to set up on a Sammy to get it to do what the GP6P does right out of the box. I think y'all are just fragile ego Sammy fans who decided to try a pixel AGAIN! But here's the magic question. If Sammy was so awesome, then why try anything else? Apple fans don't have this behavior. There are always exceptions, of course, but they are loyal to a fault. SAMMY fans have this sneaky way of hating Sammy phones but hating others more. They try every Android phone out there hoping to find something better. And, when the thing they try has a few hiccups they go running back to Sammy while trying to shame those who don't like Sammy, when they don't truly like Sammy either. Sammy fans have had this behavior for years.
Are there some things that Sammy does better than the GP6P? Yes! But, there's not a big enough gulf there to make it seem as if the GP6P is total trash by comparison. And, Sammy was 300.00 more than the GP6P. It's definitely not worth that extra 300.00.
And, the reason I put Sammy fans on blast is because it doesn't matter what tech device the subject is covering, Sammy fans always feel the need to canvas support for Sammy. iPhone users stopped doing this 6 or 7 years ago.
      Sammy fans=fragile ego FRFR!

One reason why I switched to iOS was actually because of the aesthetics. I just like the symmetrical bezel WAY better and in general all the details Apple cares about like the rounded corners always match everything - even in software when you open an app or whatever and the rounded corners of the window perfectly matches the rounded corners of the display. Stuff like this always gets completely overlooked on Android.
It wasn't the main reason but it was one reason.

I understand what you mean about everyone has a phone case that covers up the colorway of your phone. In my case though I use Clear style cases that display all of the phone or certain parts like the back glass.
So what color the phone is, is actually important to me. I also know some people who actually don't use cases on their flagship phones. Actually several tech channel creators I watch don't use cases on their Samsung or Apple phones but they do put a Sapphire/Tempered Glass screen protector on them so if something ever does happen they don't ruin the screen.

Before the big update in January, I didn't really have any huge problems with the Pixel 6 Pro. Battery life was a bit 'meh', but after I switched the network preference from 5G to LTE, it got better. I'm on Fi, so I had to do that via Safe Mode.
Well, after the big update, 5G was back on. I can go into safe mode and switch Fi back to preferring LTE, but upon rebooting to normal mode, 5G is enabled again. That will suck down about 36% of my battery in 24 hours, and I'm mostly at home, connected to my WiFi network.

Ik for me, I usually spend more for the “better” device because of at least one specific reason. I got the iPad Pro over the air because of 120hrtz. I upgraded to the 13 pro purely because the promotion displace and sierra blue color. Like they said, I’d rather spend more than to regret not getting the “better” device. Especially if I’m holding onto it for more than a year

    • @HAWXLEADER

120Hz is NOT a little spec upgrade...
It doesn't matter how good your phone/pad is if you can't see it being faster/smoother.
Apple devices are great but having their non pro models 60Hz is basically a scam to make you buy the pro.
All 250$+ Xiaomi phones and pads have 120Hz yet the iPhone 13, a whopping 700$ phone, has 60.
That's why I got the Xiaomi Pad 5, for the love of it, I'll never spend over 1000$ just to get the 120Hz iPad when the 300$ iPad is crap and the Xiaomi Pad 5 exists for the same price.
Getting 4 speakers, 120Hz 10 Bit IPS display and a great SD860 processor to drive them is enough for 99% of the things I want to do with it.
The only thing I can't do is use the beloved GarageBand.
But as a bonus I can use RUclips Vanced to have an adVanced youtube app but without the ad and enjoy great file management and file transfers.

But then they just completely messed up when they were programming the UI on the phone and kind of ruined what would have been a really good phone.

The question about aesthetics was really good. I’m looking to buy a mac, probably don’t need the 14” power-wise but the either of the 13” ones have huge bezels. So for the aesthetics plus some other future-proofing benefits, I’d go with the 14. Not totally aesthetics but it factors in for sure.

My Pixel 6 experience got worse after the updates and finally gave it up yesterday. I got it right at launch after so long on an iPhone, but just in the last few weeks it has continued to drop previous Bluetooth profiles (and can't recognize them any longer to add them back), Android Auto stopped working as well. This coupled with IG crashes, the front facing camera being soft, inconsistent audio when recording video and front facing video being sub-par, finally had me eat a loss and go trade it in for an iPhone 13 last night. I miss a couple of things, but I devalued simplicity and reliability for something new.

Same goes for the “my battery life is incredibly good” comments - which heavily conflict with what I’ve heard about the Pixel battery life. Eh, I've been using my Fold3 and Pixel 6 Pro on and off for the past few weeks and I must say, I really enjoy the Pixel experience the most on Android devices still.
I bought the Fold because I'm a full time student and work 12 hours shifts at Amazon - it just makes sense to spend $1,700 on a phone/tablet in one rather than carry a phone, iPad and other devices around with me all the time.
I still absolutely hate the Samsung phone experience. I don't want their phone app or messaging app. I don't want Bixby. I don't want their UI (even though it has gotten a lot better). I like having Google news appear when I swipe to the far left.
There's just so much CRAP I have to go through and delete, hide from the launcher, tweak around to get just a decent Android experience. Pixels... just work.
