The lack of follow up/"how they age" reviews is a huge Blindspot in the tech reviewer circles. Certain androids age way better than others and now that upgrade cycles are longer and specs stay relevant for longer, this is hugely important. Bravo; keep it up!
I've had the S21 Ultra since launch and I still miss my S9 fingerprint unlock. S21 is fast but the dedicated fingerprint readers were literally instant.
I really don't know why more companies don't just integrate the fingerprint reader on the power button or at least back of the phone. I'd much rather have the reader be in a mildly incontinent spot than for it to be slow every time you use it. If you can't incorporate under the screen readers well then you shouldn't incorporate them at all.
We need competition again otherwise we are going to have Apple becoming Nvidia and will charge $3000+ MSRP for a flagship phone if not more! I miss the days when we didn’t have to pay allot to get a decent phone that won’t go to absolute garbage in a matter of weeks or months that’s the current problem with Dumbdroid phones especially Scamsung
I like these kind of reviews a lot, it's really hard to see all the pros and cons at the beginning. I've been on Pixels since the Pixel 2 and the Pixel 6 Pro was my favorite phone for 6 months, then my wife and I both had issues with them. Mine got stuck on the bootloader and seemingly corrupted the drive. I exchanged mine for another one, that was fine just slower. Then her screen went out. We paid them off and exchanged them for iPhones.
Still rocking the Pixel 5 here and love the 'on the back' fingerprint sensor. Feels like the most logical place to put one and the recessed circle guides your finger into the sensor. Alas, I think such a design has had its day.
@@RUclipsOwl I am not used tk putting my finger on the power button and it feels very fluid putting my finger on the back to unlock it, personally. (Pixel 5A)
@@RUclipsOwl phones are usually a bit thicker comparitivly if the FP is on the power button. Also the power button FP has a smaller surface area hence not as reliable as the one on the back.
Thanks for the time going back and giving us your thoughts on this again. I've had a Pixel 6 since launch in UK and came from a Pixel 5. Also getting several bugs now. - Bluetooth music skip, yep get that. - Definitely missing the fingerprint sensor on the back from the 5. - auto brightness is so slow. If phone is in my pocket and I'm outside sunny day, (yes it does happen in the UK occasionally!). Phone rings, take out of pocket and will take a good 2 - 3 seconds (well feels like it) before I can see the screen to answer it. I can't remember the last time I had a phone that was that bad! - When using Google Maps for Sat Nav, this happens about 50% of time. I am currently using 3 button control (back, home, apps). After arriving at destination and pressing "done", the buttons don't always return which means your stuck in the the maps current screen. Screen off with power button and back on normally fixes this. On balance, I think it's the buggiest phone I've had in a long time. Only had Pixels (1, 3, 5 & 6), and Nexuses in the last 10 years.
I have similar problems with my Pixel 5a, especially with Google maps. I'm always curious if it's OS level or something to do with the Google Maps and Android Auto integration. It's sad I had a better time using Google Maps on an iPhone even with the added Android only features.
I've had my P6 since November, and while I have not experienced many of the large bugs I hear about on this device, I do have persistent little bugs and nuances that remind me that it isn't perfect. None of these issues have made me wish I had another phone, the user experience has been phenomenal and I will likely want a pixel 8 or 9 in a few years. I have gotten two days of battery life with my usage since launch, now about 7 months in I may get to 10% around 6-8 PM at night of day 2 verus going to bed with 15-20%. I do notice the high network drain, but I am on wifi 95% of most of my days, so its never been an issue. I am sure if I was traveling more I would notice it more frequently.
Id still use Samsung flagships as they have the most refined, complete, and best all around experience in the market. However, between the Pixel and the iPhone, I would go for the Pixel.
Hearing how many issues other users report having with the pixels, I count myself lucky. 😆 I pre-ordered my Pixel 6 Pro and it has been really good. 2 day battery life, reliable fingerprint unlock (albeit slower than the rear sensor on the pixel 3 that I ADORED), and I haven't had major bugs with the software performance. I'm also on wifi 90% of the time and haven't had issues with connection or wifi calling.
@@danibee I had the battery drain bug when the first build of A13 came out, but a month later the next update fixed it and it's been very stable since.
They won't. They don't care. They might shelve the entire pixel phone line as they did with "Allo" , "Inbox", "Pixel Tablets" etc. They are basically an advertising company and very good at it. But, developing and maintaining software is not their greatest strengths.
@@sanjaydas99999 Don’t let tech Twitter see this video or they’ll call him a Apple fanboy and he “unfairly hates Pixel”… Especially if you see this guy that is under all of the Apple tweets crapping on them while saying nothing about the Pixel.
I would like to see more of this. Revisiting reviews after some time for new problems or new fixes of past problems. I'm also interested in durability, reliability and repairability.
I have experienced very few bugs since I've had my P6P since December (preordered the phone but it took over a month to actually get into my hands). The only thing I still think needs work is the fingerprint reader. It's just not reliable enough but other than that I have loved the phone. Sad to see so many others with no performance issues, I want Google to make a top their Pixel and I hope this is a step closer to that.
similar. I had a bug with the lockscreen which they patched. other than that it's the modem being a bit of a battery hog and the slower scanner that bother me rather than any software issues
I also purchased my Pixel 6 Pro in January. The amount of bugs boils down to the widgets not working once and being solved after a restart. So with an average of 5 hours daily use I really can't complain about any bugs at all. I do miss face unlock but I also knew that and expected it before my purchase. So it kind of comes down to chance I guess, just don't really like when people say that it doesn't work, that's just not true for most people.
it does feel slow, but not super slow, maybe how I tackled the problem is by registering the finger print twice and enabling the touch sensitivity feels smooth enough for me
I'm really surprised you're dealing with those issues. I've had the phone since November and use it all the time for my job. I haven't come across any bugs let alone the ones you listed off.
Maybe you haven't pushed it to the limits he had. I mean, not many people push their phones to the limit, depends on what you use it for and how much it loads the hardware
@@kaden9218 I understand bro, watch the video again his comments on the Pixel 6 pro wasn't nice . TENSOR is a new chipset as BROWNLEE was new on RUclips; it wasn't easy ask him !
I wanted to love Pixel again after using Samsungs for the past few years. I've had my pixel 6 pro since launch and it still has a lot of issues like this video mentioned. A new issue that has started in the past 2 weeks is that my always on display is vanishing at night when I turn the lights off and go to bed. I have my phone next to my bed with alarms set, and use it as a clock. It makes it hard to use as a clock when the screen is just black. Not only is it just black, it is unresponsive to tap to wake and lift to wake. The phone will ONLY come back on if I push the power button. My quick rundown of other issues: -wifi calling drops calls or doesn't start dialing at all -bluetooth randomly disconnects from earbuds and car -randomly will lose network connection, only showing an exclamation mark -sometimes the screen is just unresponsive when trying to wake it up, like it doesn't know my finger or anything is touching the screen -hold for me, i hit answer, the person on the other end sometimes can't hear me talking -sometimes speakers will make a crackle noise when sound starts from a video or game I'm sure this phone has done other stupid things, but these are just off the top of my head. Very disappointed in Google. This should have been their big moment getting back to the high-end.
Did you put your SIM in the phone? I've had literally zero issues but I didn't put my SIM in the phone. I just reset up with a new SIM baby try that I just reset up with a new SIM maybe Try that!?!
My Pixel 3a has become more and more buggy ever since the Pixel 6 came out and they started pushing more frequent updates. Before the 6 came out, it was still a rock solid experience.
I have a pixel 4a, and it has also been very buggy as it gets older. Just last month I had this awful experience where the time would change back and forth between daylight savings and standard, and that would even affect my manually set time. I've also been having similar issues with GPS and this fingerprint scanner is the least reliable one I've ever used on a phone EDIT: the SIM card issue turned out to be because of a couple of things. First of all the SIM card was first used on one of my phones before this one. Secondly AT&t was doing something and no longer supported older SIM cards. I don't know how many of the aforementioned issues are because of this, but I felt it was necessary to label them
I use the same and the biggest issue has been the WhatsApp camera. The time from actually clicking a picture and the picture being taken is considerably long, around 5 seconds or more
I also have a pixel 4a, and ever since I installed android 12, there have been a lot of bugs that have caused a lot of apps to act weird. Definitely is deterring me from buying another pixel in the future.
I've had a couple bugs here and there, but otherwise my 4a experience has been super solid. An infrequent swipe-up glitch aside, any minor things have always been fixed with the next update. Never had an issue with the fingerprint scanner or anything. Maybe it's a hardware quality control issue 🤷♂️
I rocked a 3a for a while (when it was still fairly recent). I found the selling point for me- stock android, had slowly gotten worse and worse over time with more pointless changes to the ui. Gradually got harder to navigate, and ultimately just buggy as hell. Which I'm sure some of that could be attributed to aging hardware, but some of Google's UI changes had me banging my head against a wall.
Same experience here with my regular Pixel 3 I've had since 2018. I remember in 2019 and early 2020 i absolutely loved this phone. But since A10, my experience started going downhill. Recently I've been left with a buggy version of a12 that isn't even the latest release, with no future updates planned
@@purrpocalypse yeah, I wish I could go back, I like a lot about 12 but my 3a can't run it very well and my phone is now even slower than it was before
Thanks for your review. I got the Pixel 6 a few months back and immediately had problems with it restarting by itself and a few other glitches. I exchanged it for another Pixel 6 and I am happy with it. It does everything I need it to do.
my fingerprint reader is still ridiculously unreliable. sometimes works fast and flawless, most of the time it couldn't recognise me in a thousand years no matter what. and I'm hearing they won't be bringing face unlock to the pixel 6, which would really really alleviate that issue.
Sounds like CPU binning issues. I remember some of the android phones back in the day had 2 issues. Random reboots and sleep of death (the one wouldn't make up once it went to sleep and you had to reboot it). The custom ROM/kernel devs fixed it in their builds of Android by bumping the voltage up some for the lower clock speeds. The idea was the voltage was too low and the SOC couldn't come out of sleep or it would reboot. It's been a minute since I've seen either issue but I've seen it pretty often lately with this Lenovo tablet that I have.
Good re-visit. I guess I'm lucky that I haven't experienced most of those issues highlighted but I absolutely HATE (with a passion) the utterly hopeless fingerprint reader. So many times it just doesn't unlock at all. Yes I've re-scanned multiple fingers and done svereal scans of the same finger but it just seems to be totally inadequate. If it wasn't for that and the dust-catching camera bump, it would be perfect for me.
I guess I'm lucky, because with latest update FOD is literally fast AF, and it recognizes my fingerprint 10/10. For the dust, I've resolved with a skin from dbrand, so I don't have to worry about dust anymore.
You should do this with every phone. It's all well and good doing reviews of mew phones, but it'd be just as useful to do reviews one year after release
I've had my pixel 6 pro since launch and have not had the issues some people experience. It's so strange that some people can have horrible experiences but this is the best phone I've owned and I just came from a OnePlus 6t. The only issue I have that was in this video was the finger print scanner. It can suck sometimes, especially outside in the sun.
Pixel phones are bad. I've been pre-ordering Pixel phones since the 1 came out in Oct 2016. All of them have been buggy, all of them have a battery that would start tanking if I even think about hovering my finger over Google Maps, all over heat, all of them but the current one have suddenly become unresponsive, the 3 left me stranded in the streets of Hanoi because it decided to turn itself off as I was navigating on my motorbike. This 6 will be my last Pixel phone... Constant disappointment since the 1.
I'm on the same boat I've had my P6P for a month. I've had it for a month, came from OnePlus 7T pro and I'm also on the beta program and haven't had many issues. Since being in the beta the only issue I've had is that I randomly got a weird iPhone notch at the top of my screen that caused me to do a factory reset to remove it. Also, even after I answer a text my notification still shows the text there and that's a little annoying. Again though I'm on beta so I should be experiencing things like this. The fact that I've only had these 2 bugs compared to others on Reddit who are and aren't on beta is a blessing
I'm legit so happy u shed a light on this, my pixel 6 pro is the most buggy phone I've ever owned. I've had countless issues with this phone, originally I thought I had a defective unit and Verizon sent me another, however after I got the replacement, my experience has gotten worse.
@@nascaralert4504 it's really odd right? My business partner got a 6 pro last October. Had loads of issues with constant call dropping/bad signal and WiFi calling basically not existant. I got a 6 pro about 1 month ago and have had literally 0 issues. Really odd
As a music head, I seriously wish LG would get back in the game. I think they would really stand out now in the market with their expandable memory, headphone jack, quad dac, etc. That being said, I had to move on from my LG V50(which I love), since T-mobile shut down the Sprint network. My choices were either the S21 fe, or the Pixel6 Pro. I took a shot on the 6Pro, so we'll see how it goes. Either way, it was completely free to me so I can't lose. Worse case scenario, I'll rock it for 6-12mos and if I hate it, I'll just sell it and put it towards something else
Why didn't you go with sony? Sony is basically how LG approaches phones and it would be the natural progression for us LG owners. Im still using my G8 and the only phone i can safely say would be an upgrade and what i think a G10 would have been is the xperia 5iii Quad dac ✔ Size ✔ Camera settings ✔ Screen quality ✔ Sd card ✔ Ill probably rock my G8 until the 6iii or whatever sony is out in 2 yrs.
Dude I wholeheartedly feel you on that modem issue. I absolutely love my 6, but the Samsung modem in this thing is nothing short of terrible. Efficiency and connectivity are poor, and I'm not afraid to admit that. Google has to learn that not *EVERYTHING* can be fixed by software.
True but this is seemingly good overall hardware so we expect it to have the software worked out to match. At least me anyway, I currently have no issues with my pixel 6. The finger print sensor is pretty fast for me and the animation from swiping from the Google home page is not an issue at all. It seems just as smooth as the S21 Ultra in the video.
@@micahjohnson9184 oh yeah the hardware overall is pretty good. My only complaint is that modem. They either need to use a Qualcomm modem or a better Samsung one in the Pixel 6a and 7.
Shame that Google makes Android but Samsung is way ahead of them when it comes to user experience. If Samsung had its own OS that isn’t built on Android, game over. And I use a iPhone for crying out loud and I’m shilling for Samsung.
Pixel 3a here - 3 years old, pretty much the same solid experience as day 1. It definitely isn't all Pixels that are aging poorly. Hell, the Pixel 6 isn't even aging poorly; rather, it launched poorly and it's still not where it should be.
I paid $350 for 5T 8gb ram 120gb rom. Now 3 years 3 months later still fast as ever 58% free space. Some people paid 3X that price to get lower specs lol. Sad life.
LOL Iphones are not better value! I owned several and now I got back to Pixel 4a for a year. Battery life is a deal breaker for me in Iphones, also my wife owns one, and she has to change the battery almost every 1.5 years because it sucks! Apple makes a lot of money from these "services"
Thank you for actually mentioning the connectivity issues. So many other reviewers fail to even mention it but after doing some more research it seems it is (for me at least) catastrophically bad. I understand most people might not even notice living in a city, but I live in regional Australia where reception can already be patchy on a good day. I was so close to ordering a P6 when I saw this video. You saved me a whole lot of frustration.
I pre-ordered my 6 pro after years of loving my 3a xl and got it in mid October. Beyond the fantastic camera and cool new features, the bugs were abysmal. The worst for me by FAR was the thermal throttling, which had me reaching out to Google to no avail. My phone was lasting 5 hours on one charge. Finally, it seems the thermal throttling has been fixed or at least improved. The battery life feels much better, and I'm starting to finally enjoy this phone. One weird issue I've had since day one is the after pressing the power button to put the screen to sleep, if your finger touches the screen for even a millisecond, the phone unlocks in your pocket. Pretty dumb imo. I do feel more optimistic about the phone though, and I hope they continue fixing what should have been fixed before release. One simply cannot say Google didn't screw this up.
@@Aboodab-r7j seriously dude the tensor chip? PIxel has been bashed for ages for their lack of reliability, have you forgotten when the PIxel 5 was taking pics without saving it on the library? My gf has the 4a, I bought it for her because I thought it was the best deal in that price range. Well, pics are quite good but asides from when we are on holidays, that is when she's never using the camera, the phone has been a nightmare in terms of hanging or chrome acting up, or battery consumption, etc. And so many other epic bugs, it's disgusting how they being the authors of Android cannot get THEIR software for THEIR phone right.
seems like i’ll be sticking with iPhone for the foreseeable future then lol. switched a few months ago and i don’t think i’m going back, loved my previous Pixel though but the lows were really low.
@@Aboodab-r7j nah bro Pixel’s have ALWAYS had issues. not one year did they release a photo that was smooth sailing. always really close to the mark but they always miss. they really tried last year though
During Nexus series I can tolerate bugs since we were practically beta testers. But Pixel, it targets normal consumers, it shouldn't have bugs on release, let alone on every update. Google need to up their QA Team by 100 folds especially since they only to focus on a few device. Samsung that releases hundreds of models a year can do it, then Google should too. And also especially since Android is literally made and controlled by Google.
Can't say about other Pixel phones, but I have a 4A 5G since a year, and it didn't have any hardware/software issues. Apart from horrible Android 12 UI, the Pixel experience for me, has been great 👍
same, love my pixel 4A thinking about switching to 6A soon but looking at how google been handling 6 series kind of skeptical now, and YES Android 12 UI is indeed trash, I hate how everything is so big now compare to compact it was previously on A11 ahh I miss A11.
My entire screen is falling off of my 4A 5G lol. It's a known defect but Google still charges $100 to repair it with insurance which is a little less than what they offer for a trade-in in good condition. Other than that I liked it but this is the shortest time I've ever had a phone
I feel like the regular 6 doesn't have as many issues as the Pro. Might be because of the different screen refresh rate but with about 4 months on my 6 I have had almost zero issues, the only annoying issue I have had is the auto brightness, and the slow fingerprint sensor.
You're lucky! My System UI crashes daily when it attempts to do passpoint connections or enterprise wifi. Actually, I can't even connect to the enterprise signal because of a cert issue Android 11 decided to do and its only pixels that can't connect to it. I'm waiting for the iPhone 14. It's sad because I switched to and stayed on Android after I switched from the iPhone 5.
I was also having issues with the fingerprint sensor being slow and constantly not recognizing my right thumb. Did a bit of Googling and people were suggesting to put some moisturizing cream on the finger then re-do the fingerprint adding procedure. Did that and it works a lot better and faster since then. Still has misses every so often but works a hell of a lot better than it used to.
Fax , I feel like the pro has so many more issues then the 6, had a bug on the normal 6 where the keyboard would stick around after closing an app that uses keyboard, this dosent happens lot anymore so I think it's been fixed but the normal 6 is so much better then pro
I think, my Pixel 4a is still the best device in the series. Absolutely no frills and the camera rocks. Only miss the ultra wide angle sometimes. But overall a complete value for money 🥂
Same here, I've been using pixel 2 xl since early 2020 and the only thing I sometimes wish I had is the wide angle. But even tho it came out in 2017 it's still a great phone.
Thank God I didn't jump on the temptation of trading in my Pixel 5 on these new models. The next one up isn't always better. The Pixel 5 is a true champ it's been a fantastic phone and I highly recommend it. Google went backwards leaving this brilliant compact and lightweight design!
Coming from the P5 and jumped to the 6; the experience had been such a pleasure that I straight switched the 6 to the 6 pro. It all comes down to user experience in the end
i was afraid of not liking it but pixel 6 pro is worth honestly, just for 4x zoom plus google ai camera and im not even a photographer, i just like having the option
I’ve been a Pixel user since the 3 and as much as I love the phone and experience, I just can’t keep giving Google money for the quality of products they’re delivering. Not only the Pixel but Google services as a whole; I always feel like a beta user as features come and go on a whim, are promised but never arrive, or fall in love with a feature only to have it yanked away. I think most Google user knows what I’m talking about. It’s baffling how a tech giant like Google can’t organize themselves better on anything except targeted advertising.
Well said. I'm seriously contemplating going iOS because of that. I also hated how Samsung S22 launched with a feature (I forgot what it was) before the Pixel. WTH Google...
I switched to iPhone 13 Pro after my Pixel 4 XL. I miss a ton of the little features on the Pixel, but the iPhone is so much more stable and consistent. It makes me really angry at both companies because I wish Google would make a phone that worked smoothly and I wish Apple would add in some of the common sense features like calculator history.
I agree and I think it’s that they just don’t care. Android is a means to an end for Google, with selling ads being their goal. So they just don’t put the energy into supporting these phones any more than is minimally necessary.
My Pixel 2 was one of the best phones I've had. Upgraded to Pixel 6 Pro and I regret it. My Pixel 6 Pro has always been shutting down every time I try the camera when it's cold outside. It's on and off, but usually when you're ready to capture a nice pic is when it shuts down.
I second the replacement comment. I've had maybe 1 or 2 random reboots since I've had the device. I'm a heavy user. If you are having this much issue then it sounds like you have a dud.
Man, I really was thinking about switching from Samsung after a long time to a Pixel a series, but after hearing the issues, I decided to stay. It's really impressive how Samsung stepped it up with the updates; I never expected that of them, especially jumping from one of the worst to one of the best.
I got my Pixel 6 pro a few weeks after launch, the only bad thing about it is that the finger print scanner could be better. That's it, no bugs, no freezes, no random crashes or borked apps. I live In Australia, maybe the variants are different? Maybe there are carrier issues in the US that affect the pickle phones?
Being a user of Pixel 2XL I remember that video where Markus said "DON'T BUY THIS PHONE". But I decided to risk it back then and now, 3.5 years later, I can say that this has been the best smartphone experience I've ever had (Used to be a Sony user). Yes, it has some minor bugs but nothing serious that I could mention. It seems like the Pixel phones are really bad in first batches and you shouldn't really pre-order them. NEVER. I bought my 2XL a year later of it's launch so you tell me. It really is a time to change my 2XL to something newer but, man, I don't know what to do now. It seams like I should wait for another year to get a stable version of Pixel 7 😂
I was using a 2xl too, and I would buy it again if it had larger storage and modern specs. But I broke it last year and had to switched to a $200 range phone till last week and bought a pixel 6(not pro). Pixel 6 has been a major upgrade compared to both of those phones. I can hold it with a finger on the camera bump, almost like a ring pop. Bluetooth connection is faster and steady. The quick control in notification for home control and gpay is very convenient. The few things I wish Google woudl fix are... * Bring back the HDR toggle in the camera app - HDR is on by default, didn't find an option to turn it off. * Improve the fp reader - it is so bad that I've not been locking the phone as often as before, just so I don't have to deal with it. * Improve battery optimization - it heats up, not burning lv, but fairly warm, it's running games or camera with YT in the background, while doing the same thing on the 2xl wouldn't cause it to heat up.
I'm on the Pixel 2 and have been since launch. It's finally breaking on me and I am also hesitant to get the 6. But I need a new phone soon. The Pixel 2 no longer gets updates these days.
Well, if I remember correctly first 2 pixels were made by HTC. My HTC U11 was by far the most stable device I ever owned, there was never a single weird reboot or anything glitchy. It may also be since it was running probably the best android versions of all time stable wise. Shit got weird after that, just look at how the bubbles are completely broken in the recent android versions.
Loved my pixel 2xl. Same boat, bought it a year or so after release, had it for 3 years till I got my s21 ultra. And tbh there's some thing about the pixel I miss. Notification shade pull down with the back fingerprint sensor was a god send for one hand use.
My pixel 4a is still a great 2nd phone (business). I sometimes use it more than my iPhone 12pm. No issues besides the occasional auto brightness but it could be how dim I like it when I’m the dark.
Hey mkbhd. So a lot of people actually are thinking of buying these phones a year or 2 after they are released. That means that reviews like this are very helpful. If you could manage to hire someone who could be doing these kind of reviews under your brand name.
I expressed to the pixel reddit page all of my frustrations with the p6p, which led me to getting an iphone 13 pro. And let me tell you, according to them, my p6p is the only one in existence with bugs and they are all user error.
Of course. The go to strategy for any company is to withhold admitting guilt and correcting the issue until it is far too late for them to worry about it, because the money required to fix the issues belongs to investors and they don't care about the product.
How is the iPhone 13 Pro compared to the P6P? I am deciding between the two and I'm strongly leaning towards the 13 pro as my very first iPhone. The only hesitation I have is iOS compared to Android as I've always preferred Android and have a Pixel 3 XL at the moment and it's been a great phone except for the horrible battery life but I'm also on a M1 MacBook Pro and I'm thinking about moving towards one ecosystem instead of an Apple computer + Android phone experience
I have a pixel 6 (not pro) and everyone of the issues he discussed I have as well. The phone is absolutely bad (compared to non budget phones) and anyone who says it isn't either doesn't use their phone much or are very lucky. And I'm the type of person who usually doesn't notice any issues with phones and rolls my eyes at people who do have issues 😂. I'm sticking with it because A) no other phone really tempts me right now (really into stock android 12, so sorry Samsung) and B) I think Google is using a LOT more ML than they are telling us, like for the auto brightness. If true then I expect these issues early on and I'm fine with being a beta tester in hopes that the next versions drastically improve.
You see, I'm always at a loss as to why Reddit pages of phones, iPhones, Samsung Galaxy phones and even Xiaomi phones always have this fanboy status. Whenever you raise an issue, they shut it down, they are always useless in solving problems and helping people understand the risks and problems the phones they defend have. It's very troublesome and incredibly stupid. I mean, no one benefits, Google or Apple wouldn't pay you for defending whatever they do or sounding like their phones are without issues, some of the issues end up affecting hundreds of thousands of people
My experience with the 6 Pro, coming from a Samsung: - The only issue amongst the ones mentioned here: auto brightness fail - small but constant bugs with basic apps like RUclips (from Google...) And Facebook - excruciating charging speed - software is 2-3 years behind Samsung in my opinion. Google seem very intent on dumbing everything down several notches - overall pretty okay, great camera and performance
Same, the phone is nicely designedwith a sweet camera, I'm just so use to Samsung's OS and find it superior to stock Android personally. Plus I like the additional modes in the Samsung camera app
@@edboymovies what I'm missing the most is the quality of life and customization stuff. Split screen on all apps, window mode, casting my phone on the TV and having the Dex interface, and many others that I got used to
@@willwunsche6940 Stock android is not horrendous. It's just lacking in features and customisations when compared to custom skins. Otherwise they are smooth and does all things right
It's a bummer that you have been having so many issues but I'm glad you gave it another chance. I got my pixel 6 maybe a month after launch and I love it. I haven't had the bugs besides one with the data/wifi turning off and have to toggle it off and on again but they fixed that a couple of months ago or so. It's honestly been one of the best phones, and phone experiences, that I've had, up there with my Samsung note 9. Fingerprint was a bit slow but seems improved for me now. Personally, I miss my fingerprint reader on the back.
Watching this on my S20 FE and I never imagined it would age so well. The software experience is just awesome! Had to believe how Samsung has got it right considering how atrocious TouchWiz was
@@JRBowling1997 and yet the built in launcher for s20 FE 5G was atrocious anyway. Searching for apps took 3 seconds when it should be instant, and other issues. Thankfully you can just download a new launcher and set it as default.
I'm on an s8, and the software experience is still rock solid. Updates are long gone unfortunately, but at least it works as good as it did when it was new
Thanks for your thoughts/experiences. Just picked up the PIxel 6 (payments until the $600 is paid). I don't like fingerprint and auto brightness so I was glad to hear these were the larger complaints. Very happy that the transfer from an LG G7 ThinQ to Pixel 6 was fairy easy. All my data transferred and most of the apps. I would've stuck with LG because I like how customizable they were, user friendly, reliable, but are no longer being made and support for calling is running out. Here's hoping this one lasts more than 4 years (insert laugh track). All the best and God bless.
Yo. I’m kinda in the same boat. I’ve had my LG G7 ThinQ for about 3-4 years and need to upgrade because it’s constantly bugging out. I’m planning on getting the pixel 6 but just hope it’ll last like you said for at least 4 more years. How the phone so far?
@@adriangodinez4198 The phone itself is great. Learning Android 12 is an adjustment, but these kinds of tips & tricks videos helped get the settings to be much more manageable.
I'm switching from my G7 ThinQ and it feels like a downgrade no matter what phone I pick lol. I don't game, so all I care about is usability really and no phones have fingerprint sensors on the back anymore, headphone jacks are gone, every phone is 1080p (G7 Thinq is 1440p). Honestly wish I could keep my LG forever, RIP a legend.
Its interesting, I've not had any of the issues listed in the video at all. My 6 Pro at times refuses to leave apps to go to the homepage, or when I go to the homepage I just see a blurry version of my background with no apps visible. Both of these are solved by turning the screen off and on again, but I've noticed it happening a lot more frequently recently, and its getting quite annoying.
You may setup a weekly auto-restart so that most of the underlying bugs and/or other problematic cache files collected over time could be fixed. I've setup my Galaxy to automatically turn off every saturday around 4:00 am and then sit idle for 15 mins and turn back on at 4:15 am. It keeps most of the problems out of the picture. Hope it may solve the issue.
@@mobidiksremix Galaxys have that option bro in General Management part of Settings. I don't know if Pixel had it. It's somewhere around General Section.
I was very happy with my Pixel 6 for like 2 months. But then I started to hate how heavy and bulky it is and how buggy it gets, to the level that sometimes multiple apps don't work at all! I thought I was going to keep this as my main phone for a couple of years, but that probably won't happen.
Been running my 6 since close to launch. I have a nice list of random issues that I experience. Some things have gotten slightly better over time but I am constantly ragretting not deciding to change to the S21 when I returned my first Pixel 6 because it had a display issue. The one I am currently running still has the issue but not as bad. So many weird UI choices that just don't make sense. The Samsung UI was really clean and made sense.
Using my pixel 6 and it's alot smoother than my pixel 4a that has had a few bugs as of late. Camera app when recording 4k/30 on both phones has a small jitter at the beginning of the video and is smooth from there. Besides that it's been solid and I'll continue to switch between my Pixel 6 and Iphone 11.
I love my pixel 6, no doubt it's one hell of a phone for the dailys, but yeah everything bout those lil inconveniences - that he said about the phone is literally true, the network drops, stutters, auto brightness etc it really does add upto the " unabel to recommend " phone.
Right there are so many people like "I have none of these issues". I have all of them. The phone is a buggy mess. I'm constantly restarting it and having to force close apps and launchers. It's infuriating
@@anthonyt425 hands down, without a second doubt, happily - would Buy a pixel. ( if there'll be a worthy one ) ( for ex: Buying a 13pro after using X or 11 /// and not like 13pro over 12pro - you get the point. )
@@stroads. well then I would say I'm on the lucky side, I have some of those very popular pixel bugs but on the other side - it getss my dailys done perfectly, the machine learning is soo f*ing well Integrated in the system that it feels like the phone knows what you want next - so there are pros and cons, I'm a pixel person so I would happily choose it over other but at this particular position where in the pixel is - in the current market vs the competition in UI/UX - I would not recommend it to anyone. But like marques said: I trust google enough to hope, actually believe, that they'll bring a better one with A series or 7 or whatever.
The fingerprint reader on my 6 Pro has gotten dramatically better since I first purchased it when it was released. Bluetooth does drop a lot with my google buds. Other than that, I really have no complaints.
lolwhat? It gets better over time of using it? Maybe it is subjective and you just got accustomed to it, try comparing it in a phone store. I don't really believe it.
I experienced a lot of bugs when I got my Pixel 6. Oddly enough, nothing that other people were experiencing. It was very frustrating as I've been a Pixel fan for a long time. Happy to say I can't think of any bugs off the top of my head that I've experienced within the last month.
I really don't understand this. I've had my P6P since late November and it's been great. The only issue at all was the fingerprint sensor sometimes not registering a print at the beginning but with every update it's gotten a little better. Now it works fine. It's an optical sensor so it's never going to be instantaneous like an ultrasonic, you need to leave your finger on the screen for a little bit. I'd like if the phone had face unlock just because I like that feature. Other than that I love this phone. Use it every day all day and it's been solid for me. Like someone else said, I wonder if there are bad batches out there to account for all the complaints?
@@ZangetsuDDR You're missing the point, most users claim to be fine and not come across any issues and some are saying otherwise, the P6P is definitely flagship level with the specs and features it offers.
I'm one of unlucky ones. Have had phone for 4 months. Had 3 weeks of hardly any phone signal then 6 weeks no wifi, and now just keeps resetting randomly and alot during phonecalls. Especially when you do anything with wifi it just turns off. I'm gona sell now just feed up

@@vamsibandi8300 well the galaxy S6 wasnt perfect and you also have to consider that it has to compete with phones that are near perfect in their own ways.
@@vamsibandi8300 It's first gen for the tensor ship, but the era samsung were buggy every phones were buggy animation were buggy on androids and iphones
What more do you expect to improve? Google has had it's line of phone since Nexus. We're over one decade in. All Nexus and Pixels had tons of hardware and software bugs, more so than any other OEM.
I use the Pixel 6 Pro since November and yes, there are a few bugs here and there - maybe I should be way more annoyed by this, but for me the great display, the best speakers of any phone I ever used and the great camera software make it up to me. I do always have a charger on hand, so I never really noticed the bad battery. Everything said, I still like this phone better than my One Plus 7T that I had before.
I really liked the 7t, but it was just too wide and generally too big. Battery was great, camera was much better than I expected, it was fast and animations were fluid. Only sucky thing was vibrations - I would never feel them, they were just too weak. But then update to Android 11 came and it was just BAD. Every animation glitched, phone would ring, but the screen would not be on, battery tanked. It was fixed after a month or so, but by then I was so annoyed, that I bough Samsung S21 and I love it.
@@vishaleffects the pixel charging is typically quick from 0-50, after that the speed goes down. I dont really mind tho, as I charge up every other night
What the heck, I think the pixel 6 pro speakers are garbage compared to the OnePlus 7T. OnePlus had a huge front facing speaker and had much louder, fuller sound. Pixel is quiet and tinny :/
The Galaxy Nexus was my first "Google" phone, and I owned nearly every Nexus/Pixel up to the 2XL. I was so excited for the 6 Pro hoping it was a return to form but after 6 months I just had to trade it back.
Same. Was fed up with the pixel 6. Sold it and bought a galaxy S21 regular. Incredible peace of mind after using the S21 knowing everything will just work as expected.

Appreciate you for making this video, would like to see more videos like this when you experience it. It's looking increasingly difficult to look for a close to stock android phone that holds up over time
Really appreciate the follow up on these reviews!!! I would have to agree on all the cons that you have listed. Speaking for myself for someone who still has Pixel 2XL this review is almost and wouldn't want to bring down the performance of the Pixel 6 but seems like I have the same problem with my 2XL. I know it is a huge comparison to make for these two phones but a phone that continues to be "buggy", drops from 120Hz to 60Hz and the list goes on. Now for a person who still uses a 2XL that is insane for a customer of a Pixel 6 to experience these issues especially with a phone that exists in this day of age with the technology we have. My experience with the 2XL with the fingerprint is the same as Marques has experienced, it is laggy and seems like it almost takes some time to realize its your finger...that's kind of funny but exact same issue I have. Also camera wise... definitely needs some work maybe keeping up with software updates...As for Google this is a phone that has potential to be up top with the other phones that currently have taken its place! I really hope Google fixes these issues and look forward to what they can do and hope this is over done. I'm a big fan of the Pixel hope nothing but the best! Also love the work you put into these videos Marques hope nothing but the best for you man!
It's actually true and thank you @mkbhd for talking about it. When I updated my pixel 4a to Android 12, the phone literally caught visible software bugs. Post update, the battery life got reduced from 5 hours of SOT to 4 hours. Opening and closing of the applications also got slower than it was before. And after the first security update the experience got even worse. The fingerprint reader went from instant unlocking to a noticeable 1 second gap between the pressing and unlocking. I reached out to Google, they said so much problems one solution, factory reset your phone. It didn't help too.
This is what I experienced on my Pixel 5 too. Android 11 was such a stable and mature system and the update to 12 just felt like a step down. It seems that a lot of the problems for the P6 do also come from Android 12 itself. I don't know why they released it when they obviously still had so much work to do on it but here we are ...
The have a 4a too and what fixes this is restarting the phone every 3rd day. Then it feels faster again but yeah this should not be a thing with pixel phones.
My user experience completely mirrors everything mentioned. In addition, the screen rotate is atrociously laggy and the navigation presses often registers as multiple presses, forcing me to switch to gesture navigation. REALLY regret trading in my S21 Ultra. I've owned almost every Pixel phone and it definitely has soured my loyalty to the line. I've been trying to find a deal to trade it in for a Samsung, but the Pixel 6 isn't even an option for some reason
I was able to Trade in mine via Verizon (Gave me $800 credit towards a new monthly payment for a phone), so I'd check if it's an option with your carrier.
Also thanks for your honest review..and I will buy this phone due to your review as the issues you mentioned are not a deal breaker for me...you mentioned nothing serious. Thanks again..I love your work.
I have two Pixel 6's which I got the exact day it released for both myself and my wife. I have owned both Pixel and Nexus phones before and have never had any bad experiences with either (at least not any I couldn't overlook due to price or features). With the Pixel 6, almost immediately I started having issues with the Wi-Fi connectivity, I am currently living in a family member's basement so having good Wi-Fi connectivity is a must since cellular signal is weak down here at best. I work in IT, so I tried absolutely everything you could think of to try and see if it may have been a software issue (including waiting for several OS updates, resetting the device to factory settings, safe mode, etc.), but ultimately nothing worked, so I had to get a Galaxy A13 5G, so I could get all my MFA apps and stuff set up on something temporarily while I sent my Pixel 6 out to Google for repairs. I just received it back yesterday and so far the Wi-Fi is working really well, however, I am now unable to use the fingerprint reader at all, mind you, I pretty much never used it anyway because it's nearly unusable with a screen protector on (and I am not as much of a bawler as Marques and living that case-less or screen protector-less life), but the point is, there has never not been an issue with this device since the day I bought it. My wife's Pixel 6 has been mostly great, with the only exception being occasional cell reception issues while in the US and no signal at all while in Mexico, funnily enough she had perfect signal the entire time she was in Poland and Germany recently. We both use Google Fi as our cell provider, in case anyone cares. Hoping to see software improve the user experience even more since right now I am definitely not blown away by any means, and although I love the stock Android experience, I had a much better experience with my Galaxy Note 10+ 5G I switched from. Next time I am looking to upgrade, there is a good chance I'll either go iPhone or if I am looking for a more stock Android experience than Samsung can provide I may go back to OnePlus or something like that, though I haven't owned a OnePlus since the OnePlus 4 if I remember correctly, so who knows, it might be full of bloatware now... Hopefully Google gets their heads out of their *ss though and start making good phones, for the price, I really would expect a much better experience...

I just had my Gp6p for 2 weeks now and I have to say it great. I did not experience anything bad yet, everything runs smoothly. I guess I just happen to be one of the lucky people who didn't get the buggy version others had experienced. Loves everything the phone has to offer.
I really don't get this. I love my P6 Pro and it seems like people either love them or have really bad experiences with them. I wonder if there was a bad batch or something
@@Guess_the_movie1 - maybe because it was before the bad batch was noticed? My Pixel 6 Pro is from the very first batch that Google sent out to consumers and I haven't experienced any bugs with my unit.
I had a Pixel 2 XL for years, absolutely loved it, ended up getting a 6 pro when it came out, still in love... also recommended pixels to a bunch of friends and family and they all love them, i've had zero issues and heard no complaints from said friends/family.
My Pixel 3 died very suddenly back on January 1st... it had been working pretty much flawlessly up until that point, with all the issues being software-related. Really frustrating to have been blindsided by a hardware failure just 2 years into ownership when at the time, everyone was concerned about those models suddenly going into a boot loop issue.
That's very weird. I've had my Pixel 2 XL since black Friday 2017 and it's still kickin'. However, I'm ready to upgrade. I'm looking forward to the Pixel 7 and that 2nd Gen Tensor Chip
I believe many of the bugs that occurs on the Pixel 6 is due to the new Tensor core and the OS. I have a feeling that Google set rules on the OS that prioritize certain feature on the phone to the incorrect cores or the cores couldn't keep up with the instruction it is execute. For example, maybe the fingerprint sensor is set to low priority core (the slower, low power processing core) because it is always on but the instructions sent to it (sensor activates when the finger is on top of it, receive the fingerprint from the sensor, execute a security program to make sure the scanned fingerprint is real, compare the fingerprint to the one storage in the security vault, and then, when the fingerprint is verified, instruct the phone unlock and load the homescreen, which the instruction is set to the high power core) couldn't handle it. This is my assumption but, if this is true, the low power core is too slow to handle it and the hand off from low to high delays it longer.
I got a new Pixel 6 Pro a few weeks ago. Right from the start i wasn’t impressed. The phone got quite hot with simple use like watching RUclips or just charging, and the battery would just DRAIN. The last straw was when I went to work with a 100% battery and after an 8 hour shift with barely using it, my battery was at 30%. I brought it back (we have 2 weeks to return a device here in Canada) and got an iPhone 13 Pro Max (and I had always said I would NEVER get an iPhone). I am SOOOO glad I did this! I’m in love with my iPhone, it’s butter smooth, the battery is fantastic, the whole Apple ecosystem is incredibly cool (I got AirPods and AirTags since I got the phone 5 days ago) and the overall experience has been wholly positive! I had very high hopes for the pixel, and idk if I just had a lemon, but regardless, it was my first pixel and it pushed me out of android and onto iOS. Just my 2 cents.
The pixel 4a for me was a great experience from the day I got it until today. I passed it along to my daughter when I got the 6 and it's still just as good as it was on day 1 (and in some ways better because of software updates). I never buy the "pro" versions of any phone, but I definitely had a few minor issues with the 6 in the first few months. All of those are gone now, but I do wish they had a physical fingerprint reader on the back instead of the under the screen one.
Thank you for the follow-up. Got my Pixel 6 Pro back on February 1st and waited out for the updates and finally went full on April 1st. I did run it on beta builds prior to using it as my daily driver. Not sure why you're experiencing so many bugs? Of all the bugs you speak on, I have not experienced them at all. The only quirk is the fingerprint reader that is, yes, slow and slightly out of place in some apps. I did test the refresh rate via turning on visibility in Dev Mode and it did move between 60 and 120 and never below.
I'm really happy that I decided to go with the S21 ultra, it's been my favorite phone ever since the note 9. I played around with the pixel 6 pro in Tmobile and it felt kinda worse than my note 9 with its constant crashes
I'm still using my 2XL and it works very well. Not much to compare it to though, but I don't find it buggy or slow at all. Still does what I need it to do.
The Pixel 6 is my phone and I sort of have a love-hate relationship with it. Some things are really nice with the software and the features, but it's really buggy - my main frustration is the AWFUL auto-brightness which sometimes just becomes really dark in well-lit rooms for no reason.
@@akarshJD 8 flip is not waterproof and the 7 series doensn't compete with the other brands amymore, this is 2022 🤣 I know the zenfone better than you think~

I have to agree, S21 Ultra is by far the best phone I've ever owned. Had it since launch and can't bring myself to leave it at all. It's tough as hell too.
4:17 I don't know about other phones but its the auto brightness is kinda horrible in the sunlight with almost any low end to mid tier phones, and seeing the pixel struggle in the dark too was just unexpected. They probably didn't finish the software properly and in the end will blame it on the pandemic.
One thing to mention, the reason for the auto brightness going up when the flashlight is on, is because there is a sensor on the camera array that helps with ambient light, so when the flash is on, it picks it up and brightens the phone. I don't know why they put it on the back though, but I agree. It should be fixed
Had a few Pixels. Had a P5, sold it, missed it and bought another one. I still have it and for me, it is great. I don't use a fingerprint scanner and the size is nice. I am tempted by the 6 but will wait until the 7 comes out. It seems to me that the Google Phone engineers/software people are not at the level of Apple or Samsung.
I got the pixel 6 pro, love the updates, better battery live. no problems with the signal but I live in the netherlands where providers got almost 100% cover. The fingerprint (real)slow is gone with me after the last update. removed all vingers and did it again in a darker room to add them (tip on internet) then vingerprint is fine. ok not the fastest but way better. Brithness not the best I agree on. For me the issues are that small and the camera and android is great it's still a great phone. And by the way I got a 100 euro discount last year lucky me so pricing and the pro are great
My Pixel 6 Pro has been pretty solid. I go through about 4 to 5 phones a year and try lots of them. I actually enjoy my Pixel more than I did the S22 Ultra. I sent the Ultra back. The fingerprint reader is definitely not the best, but I don't worry about it. I'm used to it. Auto-brightness isn't the best for sure. But I typically turn that off anyway. Otherwise, I haven't had issues. Runs super smooth for me. Some of the issues you report I can't say I've had at all. If you want a Pixel, I wouldn't let this experience sway you.
I did the same. Got the s22 ultra and it was beyond buggy! Granted I'm in the UK so got the exynos version (lucky me) but decided to get the 6 pro and had 0 issues
@@connorhughes6476 yeah. My camera app crashed every time I opened my selfie camera on my S22 Ultra. It was a way bigger bug to me, than a slow fingerprint scanner. I don’t know if it was typical or just my unit that was messed up. Same with Marques’s Pixel. I feel like his unit has been worse than most. That sucks for Google considering we all follow MKBHD.
Just got a pixel 6 pro in sorta sunny to use alongside my iPhone 13 pro max as I was originally going to get the pixel instead of my iPhone. Being years old and a different operating system it's crazy to say it has been so great I haven't put my SIM card in my iPhone for almost a month. Being an android user on the nexus 5 before I got my first iPhone (X), there have been many improvements and there are lots of similarities to the older versions of android that it has been a smooth return to the software. Love my pixel 6 pro, main reason I love it so much is for the 120hz on more than just the UI. I picked it up for $300 unlocked. What a great buy.
A lot of the issues for cell and bluetooth connectivity seem to be more related to Android 12 in my experience. Every issue you talked about, have been happening with my Pixel 5a ever since the January Update.
I know my pixel 5 has had some issues with Bluetooth, sometimes keeping the phone in a boot loop. Updating my google apps in play store stops it, any Google apps that go out of date cause my phone to have weird issues... Been using my pixel 5 for ages now
I've had the pixel 6 pro since December and I don't seem to be having any of these issues. To me, the phone seems amazing. However, keep in mind that I'm coming off of a picture 2 XL so anything would seem amazing after that. I'm really enjoying using this phone. I don't think I'll switch to anything else.
I'm coming off Xiaomi android one phones and cheap Motorola (they give a almost stock experience) and they seem amazing compared to the pixel 6. It's more or less the same experience for one 5th of the price with the big plus that I could receive phone calls ...
I've been using the Google pixel 6 since release and it seems a lot less buggy than the pro. It has been awesome but I definitely run into the occasional bug more than my pixel 3 XL

The slow fingerprint reader is the only thing that's annoyed me with it since swapping at launch. I miss my 3XL with the instant fingerprint unlock 😥

The best place in my opinion is on the power button. It feels so good.
Can't upvote this enough.

I like seeing these type of videos, especially from you. I’m literally on my knees praying for more and more improvements for Pixel.

Appreciate the follow-up 'reviews on products like this. Really hope Google will keep improving as they have been
It's genuinely surprising that I rarely see many techie content creators making a follow-up.
Huh.
Improving? Have you watched the video.

Yeah I've owned 3-4 pixels, can't recall any noticeable bugs. Slow finger print reader on the 6 is true.
@@markus4142 well maybe it doesn't work for the ppl that say it doesn't work.
it does feel slow, but not super slow, maybe how I tackled the problem is by registering the finger print twice and enabling the touch sensitivity feels smooth enough for me
I'm really surprised you're dealing with those issues. I've had the phone since November and use it all the time for my job. I haven't come across any bugs let alone the ones you listed off.

My quick rundown of other issues:
-wifi calling drops calls or doesn't start dialing at all
-bluetooth randomly disconnects from earbuds and car
-randomly will lose network connection, only showing an exclamation mark
-sometimes the screen is just unresponsive when trying to wake it up, like it doesn't know my finger or anything is touching the screen
-hold for me, i hit answer, the person on the other end sometimes can't hear me talking
-sometimes speakers will make a crackle noise when sound starts from a video or game
I'm sure this phone has done other stupid things, but these are just off the top of my head.
Had the same issue with the screen on my non pro. Rebooted the phone and it worked again after that
I AM HAVING THE SAME EXACT BUGS! I thought it was just me
that’s so unfortunate to hear dude, i’d get rid of that phone if i were in your position. that type of performance is unacceptable.
I get a crackle noise when I fire up PUBG
My Pixel 3a has become more and more buggy ever since the Pixel 6 came out and they started pushing more frequent updates. Before the 6 came out, it was still a rock solid experience.
@DrinkingTrack33 damn. I wish my parents apologised like that
Android 12 has been an awful launch, unfortunately.
@@OneContinuum agreed I’m still on A10 I’m never updating
I have a pixel 4a, and it has also been very buggy as it gets older. Just last month I had this awful experience where the time would change back and forth between daylight savings and standard, and that would even affect my manually set time. I've also been having similar issues with GPS and this fingerprint scanner is the least reliable one I've ever used on a phone
EDIT: the SIM card issue turned out to be because of a couple of things. First of all the SIM card was first used on one of my phones before this one. Secondly AT&t was doing something and no longer supported older SIM cards. I don't know how many of the aforementioned issues are because of this, but I felt it was necessary to label them
I agree with the GPS. It's not always reliable

Sure buddy

my fingerprint reader is still ridiculously unreliable. sometimes works fast and flawless, most of the time it couldn't recognise me in a thousand years no matter what. and I'm hearing they won't be bringing face unlock to the pixel 6, which would really really alleviate that issue.

@iseerashonal821 it's amazing works like a diamond
Me too
Pixel 6 has serious quality control issue. It's like playing Russian roulette
Same here, mine has been great but I have only had mine since February

As a music head, I seriously wish LG would get back in the game. I think they would really stand out now in the market with their expandable memory, headphone jack, quad dac, etc. That being said, I had to move on from my LG V50(which I love), since T-mobile shut down the Sprint network.

I think a lot of the early issues was due to tensor chip. Benchmark tests couldn't handle it. But 6 months later the chip can't be the only issue

Still has misses every so often but works a hell of a lot better than it used to.

i was afraid of not liking it but pixel 6 pro is worth honestly, just for 4x zoom plus google ai camera and im not even a photographer, i just like having the option

You should get a replacement
I second the replacement comment. I've had maybe 1 or 2 random reboots since I've had the device. I'm a heavy user. If you are having this much issue then it sounds like you have a dud.
That used to happen with my old Samsuns s7
Try to get a replacement, or switch to a custom rom, ironically that's made the UX far better for me. (currently running proton AOSP btw)

MKBH use to said dont buy Pixel 4 because big forehead blablabla, still one of the best phone I ever used. Photo still amazing.
I love my Pixel 6, especially as the April patch has improved my battery a lot! But the fingerprint sensor is still the biggest weakness.

How's the 13 Pro?
You see, I'm always at a loss as to why Reddit pages of phones, iPhones, Samsung Galaxy phones and even Xiaomi phones always have this fanboy status. Whenever you raise an issue, they shut it down, they are always useless in solving problems and helping people understand the risks and problems the phones they defend have. It's very troublesome and incredibly stupid. I mean, no one benefits, Google or Apple wouldn't pay you for defending whatever they do or sounding like their phones are without issues, some of the issues end up affecting hundreds of thousands of people
My experience with the 6 Pro, coming from a Samsung:
- The only issue amongst the ones mentioned here: auto brightness fail
- small but constant bugs with basic apps like RUclips (from Google...) And Facebook
- excruciating charging speed
- software is 2-3 years behind Samsung in my opinion. Google seem very intent on dumbing everything down several notches
- overall pretty okay, great camera and performance
Same, the phone is nicely designedwith a sweet camera, I'm just so use to Samsung's OS and find it superior to stock Android personally. Plus I like the additional modes in the Samsung camera app

Had to believe how Samsung has got it right considering how atrocious TouchWiz was
They don't use TouchWiz anymore
@@JRBowling1997 and yet the built in launcher for s20 FE 5G was atrocious anyway. Searching for apps took 3 seconds when it should be instant, and other issues.
Thankfully you can just download a new launcher and set it as default.

I'm on an s8, and the software experience is still rock solid. Updates are long gone unfortunately, but at least it works as good as it did when it was new
Also on the s20fe 5g, this phone has pretty much ensured I get another Samsung phone and i used only Google phones up to the 2xl until now.

I'm switching from my G7 ThinQ and it feels like a downgrade no matter what phone I pick lol. I don't game, so all I care about is usability really and no phones have fingerprint sensors on the back anymore, headphone jacks are gone, every phone is 1080p (G7 Thinq is 1440p).
Honestly wish I could keep my LG forever, RIP a legend.
I love these videos, very good idea to go beyond the launch review. Very well put together as always, keep up the great work Marques!
The audio skip was tripping me out! I only use Bluetooth for headphones now and thought I was going crazy until I heard you say it!

I use the Pixel 6 Pro since November and yes, there are a few bugs here and there - maybe I should be way more annoyed by this, but for me the great display, the best speakers of any phone I ever used and the great camera software make it up to me. I do always have a charger on hand, so I never really noticed the bad battery. Everything said, I still like this phone better than my One Plus 7T that I had before.
I really liked the 7t, but it was just too wide and generally too big. Battery was great, camera was much better than I expected, it was fast and animations were fluid.

Reason Apple dominates
The pixel 4a for me was a great experience from the day I got it until today. I passed it along to my daughter when I got the 6 and it's still just as good as it was on day 1 (and in some ways better because of software updates). I never buy the "pro" versions of any phone, but I definitely had a few minor issues with the 6 in the first few months. All of those are gone now, but I do wish they had a physical fingerprint reader on the back instead of the under the screen one.

Not sure why you're experiencing so many bugs? Of all the bugs you speak on, I have not experienced them at all. The only quirk is the fingerprint reader that is, yes, slow and slightly out of place in some apps.

It's unfortunate that it's getting software updates only until next year. It was a good phone.
And by the way I got a 100 euro discount last year lucky me so pricing and the pro are great
Absolutely loving my normal P6!
My experience is pretty comparable with that. After the last updates it's an all round solid phone for me (the smaller Pixel 6,not the Pro version).
I don't understand how all these bugs effect the purest form of Android, but not other phones. Is the hardware just terrible or something?
@Earione no, because he’s made videos on the past about why he doesn’t use the pixel. They’ve always been buggy. 1:41
This is what Im always looking for reviews, what happens after months or a year of usage with it. Your vids are really helpful!! 💓
I've been using the Google pixel 6 since release and it seems a lot less buggy than the pro. It has been awesome but I definitely run into the occasional bug more than my pixel 3 XL
