My Pixel 3, that I really loved, died the other day. I had had it for years and hadn't been planning on upgrading any time soon. I hadn't done any research, but when I saw the Pixel 6 at the store I bought it because of how much I liked my Pixel 3. It's taking more getting used to than I expected, but I think I'm going to be very satisfied with it once I get used to it.
I just upgraded my 4 year old pixel 3 to a 6, love both. Only issue with the 3 is the side buttons have crumbled but otherwise battery life and performance is still strong. I was super impressed with the 3 and how it still runs Android 12, I was out a few weeks ago with an Apple user and he was like "wow it's so fast!". The 6 to me anyway didn't take much to get used too, and no bugs to speak off.
got it since the beginning. bought it in France with the Bose promo. Great price for quality and features. By far the best Android phone for the price (650 euros or 450 euros if you count the Bose headphones). I wasn't sure about the front fingerprint sensor but it got better and now I don't mind. Cameras are top notch. No battery issues. No need for super fast charging (better for battery). Never had connectivity issues. Love the size.
Googles silly Pixel Launcher.. lol. I guess that's one of the main reasons why people (me included) love and use Pixels. Simply because its so minimalistic. Tried out various Launchers and always came back to the stock setup
Well never loved stock always like ui skins like colorOS or miui(in flagship though 😂) they have so many small customisation options and also many options for a Gamer like me.
I've had it for almost 7 months now and haven't had any of the issues people complain about. The most ridiculous is the battery complaint: I finish the day with something like 35-40% left, that including lots of screen time and a bit of gaming.
My biggest gripes with the pixel 6 are pretty small but are definitely annoying: they really shouldn't have cheaped out on the older display and modem, it's a very similar display to a £350-400 Samsung display and I could probably easily push 1.5-2 days of use with a more efficient version of tensor/updated modem
Gone from android (nexus 6p) to iOS (iPhone X) for past 3 years. Enjoyed apple chip performance and iOS updates but back on android finding both OS very similar these days. In Australia $1000 for pixel 6 pro vs $1850 for iPhone 13 pro max made my next phone easy decision. Loving my pixel 6 pro.
Not likely according to Phone Arena "Google Pixel 7: everything you need to know". "A few years earlier, the Pixel 4 and 4 XL had Face Unlock....we do not expect to see 3D Face Unlock in the Pixel 7 series. Instead, the beset we can hope for is simple and less secure, 2D image-based face recognition like on most other Android phones out there."
Absolutely love mine, it's been near flawless for me since day one. No Bluetooth issues, signal issues, no droped calls, battery is phenomenal at 10 hours average. I charge once a day or the morning of the other day. 90hz is very smooth and I'm well used to it and can't use a 60hz by choice anymore. The camera is chefs kiss, love Google's processing. I will say I miss a telephoto lens though the pro didn't justify the gap for me. Haptics are top tier, speakers are great but not the best, it doesn't sound tinny when the volume is cranked so that's a point for me. Display is good but leaves a bit to be desired tbh. I wish the bezels were a bit smaller and screen was a smidge brighter too. Auto brightness is really disappointing tho. Pixel 6 speech to text is unmatched although it doesn't get it 100% due to our accent but it's really impressive. My main issue with this phone is HEAT. In a tropical country like mine this phone gets hot very quickly and cools down very slowly. It's constantly lingering in the 40°C territory even when I'm not doing anything much.
I've been happy with my Pixel 6 Pro so far! I've been running Android 13 developer preview and I've had a few bugs, but that's expected. I just hope that the tensor chip gets more energy efficient and that it can be optimized better with other apps and hopefully a matte glass back. Other than that, this phone has been great and I have fortunately not had this issues with all the bugs!
Havent come across any of the bugs people have mentioned. Love the camera and its editing software. Love the clean OS.. Love everything about it and the price is reasonable.
I live in a warm country where the temperature reaches 30°C - 35°C everyday. The only problem I hate about my Pixel 6 Pro is the Google Photos app performance. It is way too slow & buggy. Especially after a massive photo shootout with my friends. And the device heats up.
I've had a p6 pro since january now and I am a huge fan. As my first pixel I am very impressed, especially on the software side. I find that it tends to lack on the hardware side though unfortunately. There are a few prevalent hardware problems with this device, but the two that have given me the most trouble have by far been the battery life and temperature. Living in texas, most of the year the weather tends to lean from hot to very hot. Living in a hotter climate absolutely affects the performance of the pixel, especially on top of the fact that they already have a known track record for overheating. This overheating issue in addition to the already hot climate can lead to many huge issues, ranging from performance to battery life, to even charging times. When the phone overheats, the framerate might tend to randomly dip. The battery tends to drain faster. And trying to charge the phone while overheating will result in increasingly slower charging rates. That is, if you even manage to get the battery percentage to go up at all. Because of this, if you live in a warmer part of the world and are considering getting a pixel 6 or 6 pro, it might be worth your time doing a bit more research on these problems. To me, everything else about the phone makes up for this problem. But that isn't to say I've been left very inconvenienced and without a charge many times in the last few months, especially now that it's getting hotter outside.
See, I don't really think that reviews should be finalized after just 6 months of the device being out. I feel like this device is just finally beginning to hit its stride. Google really should have just delayed the launch until about the March update. That's when the device finally started feeling like where it should have been from the start. Most people are more interested in how a device age is rather than whatever the new device comes out.
I got this phone about 2 months back and my experience has been generally great!! Battery has been surprisingly great for whole day use. Magic eraser is awesome fun and very useful. Live chat in keyboard works well most of the time. The only big negative is the finger print sensor which is still slow for me.
@@HitarthKakkad camera has generally been great. In terms of portrait, I would say the edge detection is really great during daylight conditions, but it can suffer a bit during night or dim light conditions but not too much compared to iPhone or Samsung. I also noticed lens flare when you point your lens directly at a source of light example, a light bulb , which is not an issue with iPhones or Samsungs. Video quality is greatly improved but iPhone is still the video king. Pixel 6 is really great in detecting human subjects when you try to use the magic eraser. In a high contrast background, the magic eraser works flawlessly and actually is fun to use.
Hello,,my issue is I just received one,,So while scrolling and watching the shorts,,,the directionals stay on the screen. Can I do something about that? Thank you for your feedback.
@@fantasytky28 I am using a Pixel 6 now, it’s much better than my 4. I had a bad time with Apple, battery swelling, etc. I skipped the Pixel 6 pro because of the reviews.
I couldn't stand the rainbow effect of the screen in any off-center viewing angle. It's crazy how more reviewers aren't bringing that up. Google used a cheaper screen in the 6 and it definitely shows.
I don't have any rainbowing but the black levels are really bad off axis, the rigid oled really struggles in direct light and tends to look quite gray when trying to display black
The Pixel 5's form factor and design is far more superior, her me out... - The size and the rounded corners are much more ergonomic - It has thinner and symmetrical bezels all around - It's not a fragile glass sandwich But like the Pixel 6 It's also sadly missing a headphone jack and expandable storage. :(
There seems to be so many hater's in the comments about the P6\Pro. I don't understand why. I don't have one (S20+, £385.00) but so many of my friends do, and they cannot stop raving about it. When I've had a go on their phones, I'm mightily impressed with the software, the performance, smoothness etc. And damn, it's a good looking phone! None of my friends have experienced the issues that have been mentioned. My S20+ may well be my last Samsung phone, I'm very, very happy with it - rooted, running custom rom (A12.1) - but the 6 & 6P are so much better. Looking forward to the release of the 7 Series - but am more than happy to wait for the 8 Series as I think that by then Google will have nailed it. Then I'll raid the piggy bank big time to get one. Just my two cents.
I´ve had the Pixel 6 for 6 months, but the fact that i live in Mexico and I don't have all of the Google features enabled, makes it hard to recommend. This is one of the buggiest phones i've ever had (I previously owned a pixel 4a), so even though it's a great price-value phone, I don´t know if i would recommend it to someone outside the US/Europe.
Just got the pixel 6 and I've noticed a connectivity issue where if I connected to the WiFi it would disable carrier network including calls and texts. I need to cycle airplane mode to get it working again. Also coming from an old iphone 8, the battery seems to drain much quicker on the pixel. I'm now installing the updates hopefully resolving these issues.
Same problem here. Purchased the cellphone in January and never got to truly use it because of the connectivity issues. I have to try the newest patch to see if Google finally solved the issue
Had the same issues you described. After the merch update some of it went away. A also joined the android L beta (12.1). It is basically a beta version of Android which is designed to maximize performance in large devices. Regarding the battery, give it some time for the adaptive battery to kick in. Mine was terrible, lasting 2 hours of screen time. After the update + waiting a couple of weeks I am getting 6 - 7 hours on one charge. I almost never need to charge it more than once a day. About the wifi problem, try changing the "mobile data always active" setting in the developers settings. Overall it is a great phone, it started bad for me but now it is great and I am enjoying it a lot. Hope this helps!
The 6 has connection issues, its very known. My 6 broke after like 6 months and couldn't get any signal and had to be RMA'd. IMO, its a hardware fault that they're trying to fix with software. The 6 is basically full blown Alpha mode (not even Beta) with how broken it is. Some people don't exp issues and are like; "I love my phone", but at the end of the day its bad QC, some are great, some are garbage, but ultimately it just has a weaker signal issue and bad hardware. Pixels in-general have been basket cases since the 3, all have hardware or software flaws.
It's an ok phone. I am using the Pixel 6 Pro as my back up to my 13 Pro Max on my deployment. First thing I noticed was that the battery life was not even as close as the iphone, so it was a shock after being used to multi-day battery freedom. The phone itself looks gorgeous and so does the display but the constant dimming of the screen is annoying. Also the Bluetooth is definitely an issue, since it keeps disconnecting or instead of instantly connecting I have to go in and connect my device. Don't get me started on the fingerprint scanner 🙄 I noticed in direct sunlight it seems to have an issue with reading my thumb. The rest of the phone is... Just another Android phone, nothing great nothing bad 🤷🏾♂️
@@edgarbier7461 perhaps, I'll have a chance to test it during my trip to Greece (although I'm sure the iPhone's video will still best it), but I'm not paying $1000 for a phone just to have mediocre specs and a great camera, that's probably why I don't see it as a superb phone.
I have the 6a, my first Pixel, which, apart from the price difference, I much prefer. The smaller Camera Bar, for a start. When I set it up, I didn't realise that you're stuck with that pointless (I use Chrome anyway) Search Bar. Luckily, I always install Nova Launcher and the settings (which don''t include the Search Bar) were copied over from my previous phone. No need to root the phone, not that I'd dare to anyway! 😉😉
I agree with you totally Sam its a good phone but find I have to turn the brightness upto 70-80% and that's indoors.. other phones 40-50% and also find the screen colour to be leaning to much on the warm side so they need to include a colour correction slider option in display settings.
As far as I'm aware it's pretty colour accurate with ∆ E's of less than 3 (not noticeable to the human eye) therefore the white point is less blue and more warm looking, However other devices do let you decide if you want to use a wide colour gamut that is more vibrant and stand out
@@WarrentheGunner my old OnePlus 7pro 5g let you choose between srgb, display p3 and AMOLED wide gamut, pretty sweet I definitely wish Google gave more options but I guess that's kinda the point of OEM'S

I had the Pixel 6 for exactly a month before selling it for the regular S22. The weight of the phone is far too much for me, it's unlike any Pixel I've ever owned. Satisfied with my decision getting the S22 though, Good Lock has really changed how I use a phone
One thing that non one is mentioning is that Netflix and Amazon prime doesn't run full screen by default. If you zoom in then the scene won't have all the details, plus you loose the clarity. Especially on the Netflix.
The Pixel 6 actually destroyed the iPhone 13 Pro Max in continuous RUclips play back. Lasted over 11hrs whereas the iPhone 13 Pro Max died in under 9hrs of continuous YT playback #nocap
So fun that the worst part of this phone is really the rigid amoled display and no influencer actually mentioning it. This leads to green/pink and rainbow tinting in bright daylight and green tinting in dim lighting. I switched to 6 pro only because of this problem. It's not even "secret". Google did a price cut by using outdated screen-technology. The other fact that barely ever gets a mention is the buttery smooth vibration motor. This reads ridiculously, but this thing creates haptics that only get rivaled by iphones. Ive been using nearly all phone brands out there (ye, for reral, and I dont even own a youtube channel) and no other android phone is up to the pixel haptics. Everything else is in this video!
I have the Pixel 6 and this phone is fantastic. I also have the iPhone 13 Pro and Galaxy S22, and right now My sim is still in the pixel 6. The FPS isn't great but also isn't that bad either. I love it. The size is better than I thought it would be. it's fast. the camera is excellent. Battery life is amazing. Have never killed it in a day. I think that at $599, you can't beat it. I like it more than a $1000 iiPhone 13 Pro. it's every bit as good as the S22 as well and that phone is $750?-$799 I got a deal so I am not sure what MSRP is. Either way, it's more than the 6. The 6 is worth ever penny. Buy it
Also had the 13 Pro Max. Now the S22 Ultra. But gonna try the Pixel 6. Have you missed the zoom features on the camera? Or noticed a drop in quality in photos?
@@shishirregmi7873 no my is perfectly fine the only issue i;ve had is when i swipe up from the botton of the screen to view apps sometimes the phone freezes but that's all
What people want: The Pixel3 100$, unlocked, fix the OLED screen. What they are getting: 1000$ for larger phone that does same/worse after 5 years, and is garbage. The only things this phone can do better is the zoom-in far away probably but that's expected as it's like a relatively newer thing.
I'm overall quite happy with my Pixel 6 pro. But the problems I still have are: 1. Text messages through cellular can be very delayed. Sometimes up to 30-40 mins! A huge no no if you text a lot (NBD for me I use wifi 99% of the time) or use this phone for work. 2. The selfie camera over-processes photos in my opinion by a lot. Even when you check off "show photo as previewed". I will still see the processing happen once I click on it in my photos. It turns what I hope are nice, Soft selfies into HDR nightmares in some situations. Especially in Bright sunlight with my curly hair. 3. Not sure if this is a messenger issue or a pixel issue, but in some calls I'm unable to pull down my menu. Instead of my menu bar pulling down the screen just turns black until I lift my finger. This is extremely frustrating, especially if you're trying to turn off Bluetooth so you can hear someone!! 4. I have the pro version and I still find a fingerprint sensor not very good. This may sound strange, but if my finger is too moisturized or too dry it will not work. It has to be just right 🤣. I've kind of given up on it and just use pattern swipe. My fingers are always so damn dry 😭
"save selfie as previewed" is nothing to do with image processing, it simply means that the selfie won't be mirrored (flipped round) from what you see in the viewfinder
Not much difference between the two according to Phone Arena "Google Pixel 7: everything you need to know". If you don't already have a Pixel and you're not in a hurry, then maybe wait.
Nice experience video. I use a Pixel 4 so orange (the small European version) and wanted a new SmartPhone. In the Pixel 4 the speaker is defective. I decided to go back to a Pixel 4 XL of the last series. I was surprised by the brighter display, better sound when making calls. So Google has also minimally improved the hardware in the years. In addition, the following videos led to my decision "Pixel 4 XL vs Pixel 6 Pro in 2022! Don't...." und "Pixel 4 XL vs Pixel 6 speed comparison! Snapdragon 855 vs Tensor chip! Who will win?" After these videos, apart from the fact that the Pixel 4 XL is really nicer in white (imho), my decision was made. For $300, there's nothing better. And I don't have to deal with possible bugs.
For me the best thing about the pixel 4 lineup is the face recognition that is soo much better than the finger print sensor found in the pixel 6 lineup, and the snap 855 is still powerfully enough for every day use. The only down size for the 4 and 4xl is the battery life which is horrendous for normal version and acceptable for the xl version.
Some say the Wi-Fi problem is relegated to models that have a certain serial number. Can I know what yours is (the part you can tell), so I can figure out which one to check when purchasing? Thank you very much
The fingerprint sensor is the deal breaker for me. I want to be able to access my phone quickly and anytime. I also don't like how the main camera blurs out too many objects now. Skip it, wait for 6A or P7.
I don't know how people are not complaining about the main camera background blur. It makes photos look horrible and the phone is supposed to have the best camera in the market...
When I first got the phone it didn't have a password or fingerprint enabled. So you could go without a password or a fingerprint and you could have instantaneous access to your phone. Of course it's not secure. But if you want instantaneous there you go
Love the video but it scares me you had to ROOT a GOOGLE phone. Of all phones, this “should” be the one you don’t have to. I love the way this phone looks. So different and I give them kiddos for that. But, this is probably a phone I’ll buy in 2 years for $200 bucks
Does Nova Launcher work well with this phone, did you try it before routing? It's all I have ever used on my phones, never using stock launchers. The gesture options are phenomenal! Great video, thanks!
Not having a rear sensor is a deal breaker for me, I'm not getting the pixel 6. I change phone every year, so I had all types: front sensor, rear sensor, face recognition. Rear sensor is just the best as it can be done in a single motion while grabbing the phone. The others are just gimmicks.
I loved this phone but had to stop using it due to the ridiculous influx of spam text messages from email addresses with a sketchy link in it. Like 3-5 of them per day. I had spam blocker turned on as well, blocked the senders individually, but no matter what I did it persisted. Google and forums yielded no answers or solutions. I'd gladly go back to this phone if anyone knows a fix for this, please let me know.
My experience has been so bad. I am now selling there are so many glitches in the software and amount of time my phone froze during teams call reminds me of early days of android. And the camera in my opinion isn’t that impressive either like wide camera doesn’t track and no macro mode. This is the first time I have decided to sell my phone with in 8 months of use and get something else.
As a long-time pixel user, I'm also heavily considering moving on. Pixels have been known for having bugs and hardware flaws, but the 6 is by far the worse. They also age like sh*. Pixel's just seem to get worse and worse, the 1 and 2 were great phones, the 3 had hardware issues, the 4 software issues, the 6, hardware and software. Pixels have developed a fan-boy reputation similar to that of Apple or Tesla, and among this fanbase, they can do no wrong, its why there is so many people raving in the comment section. Or, they're just the ones who got the good phones, as googles quality control is garbage. Allot of people mention price, "But its $600", and? I can excuse a phone manufacturer for introducing a new feature and it needs to be ironed out unexpectedly, as a pixel fan, I've grown to adapt to things just being broken in my general everyday EXP, I had my DND broken for over a year on my 4, but whenever your phone can't do the basics, call, text, take pics, HAVE SIGNAL, you know, everyday things phones from the 90's have been able to do, then its clear Google can't make phones for sh*.
After 3 months with the pixel six, I have had enough. It is now in a drawer, the SIM card transferred to my pixel 3xl. I have no idea how many calls I have missed, am sick to death of the horror story that is retrieving voicemails, as well as the continuous failure to perform even basic phone service.
Im honestly on the edge in buying a xiaomi 12s ultra. But your review made me think and think of holding off for the pixel 7. In my experience the 2nd generation is always a better experience. Hope that applies to the tensor 2
I was thinking the same thing. Same thing with all technology; let the early adopters work through all the cost, bugs and problems with version 1 but you don't buy until version 2 when most of those problems have been remediated.
Ummm...just being honest, I think the biggest issue that I've heard about with the Pixel 6 was with the Clock app, specifically with alarms not ringing. My son has one and he is constantly plagued with this issue. I turned to the community for help and it seems to be a huge issue with no clear resolution. With that said, I think the most recent update in 2022, March I think...might have fixed the issue. My son's phone was already up to date, so I had him clear the cache/data on the app and we are going to give it a week and see how it goes. But yeah, from everything I've heard on my end, this was the biggest issue I noticed with users complaining about.
When i set up my phone my alarms werent ringing. In my case it was because I turned off notifications for the Clock app. When I turned them on, it started ringing. I'm not sure if thats the case for him, but you could check.
Considering they gave me $395 for a basic iPhone 11 and a free pair of their $99 pixel buds which I sold for $40, I'm more than pleased with my Pixel 6 Pro being all-in at ~$500 including tax. Bugs and annoyances for a couple months? Without question. But the updates have materially improved performance to where I am no longer rushing to get out of it, especially at this price. My one true gripe is the camera autofocus sucks at close range compared to iPhone.
This has been one of my favorite smartphones to use, ever. It started off rough, but after the update in December, the performance has been stellar.

I've had it for almost 7 months now and haven't had any of the issues people complain about. The most ridiculous is the battery complaint: I finish the day with something like 35-40% left, that including lots of screen time and a bit of gaming.
Have you got a green tint issue?? Or flickering issue?? How's the screen? Many people complained about that! Is it solved through a software update ?
My biggest gripes with the pixel 6 are pretty small but are definitely annoying: they really shouldn't have cheaped out on the older display and modem, it's a very similar display to a £350-400 Samsung display and I could probably easily push 1.5-2 days of use with a more efficient version of tensor/updated modem
How's your model? Does it have a greentint or flickering issue?? Many people complained about that! Has it been fixed?

1)Adaptive Charging
2)Now Playing

I am still keeping my Pixel 4XL. I love face unlock in Android with always on display. Hopefully Pixel 7 brings it back.
I went from Pixel 2 XL to Pixel 6.
@@KeyserSoze23 I'm going from the 2 to the 6, have you liked the improvement?
@@nattyjuicer2467 I like being able to use Android 12 which I feel is the biggest difference.
How to get android 13 preview please?
Havent come across any of the bugs people have mentioned. Love the camera and its editing software. Love the clean OS.. Love everything about it and the price is reasonable.
Heck, I'm still loving my Pixel 5!! Can't wait to get a cheap Pixel 6 in a year or two.
Real sneaky switch of phones there at 7:22 Sam!
Did you try to use higher sensitivity option?
@@fRthann No I have not. Let me try and increase the sensitivity and check. Thanks for the suggestion!!
Hey , How is the camera (specially human subjects and portraits)

I couldn't stand the rainbow effect of the screen in any off-center viewing angle. It's crazy how more reviewers aren't bringing that up. Google used a cheaper screen in the 6 and it definitely shows.

The Pixel 5's form factor and design is far more superior, her me out...
- The size and the rounded corners are much more ergonomic
- It has thinner and symmetrical bezels all around
- It's not a fragile glass sandwich
But like the Pixel 6 It's also sadly missing a headphone jack and expandable storage. :(
This. Symmetrical bezels make a huge huge difference to me.
Symmetrical bezels are great but I hate the rounded edges, squared off is way better
And....

I've had it since December and it's been a great phone
I´ve had the Pixel 6 for 6 months, but the fact that i live in Mexico and I don't have all of the Google features enabled, makes it hard to recommend. This is one of the buggiest phones i've ever had (I previously owned a pixel 4a), so even though it's a great price-value phone, I don´t know if i would recommend it to someone outside the US/Europe.
I just ordered a pixel 6 a couple of days ago after my pixel 3 xl is starting to kinda break down, I'm really looking forward to getting it

I just bought this phone so I'm glad to hear someone like it so much
It's an ok phone.
The camera is more than great
@@edgarbier7461 perhaps, I'll have a chance to test it during my trip to Greece (although I'm sure the iPhone's video will still best it), but I'm not paying $1000 for a phone just to have mediocre specs and a great camera, that's probably why I don't see it as a superb phone.
Wow , production have been done meticulously , nice work man !
Would love to see final review of the Pixel 6 Pro soon. Really enjoy your video as well as the music.
Thank you for clearly addressing all the bugs right at the start, all the other reviews have bên very vague about them
I agree with you totally Sam its a good phone but find I have to turn the brightness upto 70-80% and that's indoors.. other phones 40-50% and also find the screen colour to be leaning to much on the warm side so they need to include a colour correction slider option in display settings.
As far as I'm aware it's pretty colour accurate with ∆ E's of less than 3 (not noticeable to the human eye) therefore the white point is less blue and more warm looking, However other devices do let you decide if you want to use a wide colour gamut that is more vibrant and stand out

Buy it

But the problems I still have are:
This is a great review. I'm really struggling to decide whether to just go for the Pixel 6 now or hold out for the Pixel 7.
Does your phone work atm?
Who will win?"
After these videos, apart from the fact that the Pixel 4 XL is really nicer in white (imho), my decision was made.
So 1 second isn't fast enough for you?
Great video, thanks!
the aspect ratio on this video is crazy man..its kinda bugging me lol...great shots good work
Not having a rear sensor is a deal breaker for me, I'm not getting the pixel 6.
Just ordered mine as an upgrade from the Pixel 3a. Excited!
Yeah, I did the same thing 3 months ago. One of the most expensive mistakes I made this year.
My experience as well
As a long-time pixel user, I'm also heavily considering moving on.

Hi what launcher you are using on this video?
@@tehSlushie Thank you. I checked that on my sons phone, all the permissions were granted and notifications were on, as sometimes it would work.
Video quality of your videos are phenomenal.
