It is very confusing going back and forth from photo to video. I would love one with all photo instructions followed by all video instructions. Also not sure if some things (like soft skin effect) apply to both photos and videos? I have watched this video 4 times and it really would help to separate photo from video instructions

To anyone wondering why in their video settings they only have 25p and not 24 and 30, you have to change the camera settings from PAL to NTSC to unlock the 24p and 30p options. It's in the settings somewhere, found it rather easily.

The camera can record connected to a power source. Just connect type-C in to the port and just magic. Don't need any patented battery with ports on it.

it would be great if you told me how to fix non-working autofocus during interval shooting. She only focuses on the first frame. I bought it for this kind of shooting, and I'm shooting it from a copter.

I don't know why but I don't see all the options in the record settings. In 4K I only get 25p and in HD i only get max 50p idk why I don't see the different options.

I am not seeing some of the options you are showing on this camera. When I go to AWB there are no options, there is no MM light meter showing up, creative mode and some others just say "intelligent mode" and there are no options to change it. Thanks for all your help!

I bought the camera and a Sony 70-200 f2.8 lens to film my son playing lacrosse. He is a goalie and as such stands in front of the goal most of the time (not running up the field). I bought the AV-E10 so I learn the Sony Alpha camera system before investing in a more expensive camera body. What are the best setting for me to film my son? Thank you!
Honestly this camera is not the best when it comes to moving around and videoing since it does not have built-in stabilization so your video will look quite shaky! However, when you upload you can put it through Catalyst Browse and itll stabilize it so it'll look nice and crisp. there are good videos on here for that. good luck filming!

Thank you for this. Quick question. Why do I not have some settings on my brand new ZV-E10. For example, I dont have File Format enabled

Can you please help me? When the camera is fixed on the Sony tripod and we move the tripod with the lever, the result of the film is not smooth. It moves jerkily, as if it would stutter for a millisecond again and again. Since I'm not a pro regarding cameras, I wanted to ask if there's any setting on the camera itself that needs to be fixed?

Great video! I'm a beginner and I have a question. I made up a set with 3 point lighting and I sit on chair with zv e10 on tripod. It's in auto P mode. I move around a bit but on playback the video will be good then get darker then go back to normal. Can you tell be what I can set so it doesn't do that?
you may have it on auto iso, Use manual mode and then the iso will stay the same for the whole recording :)
Switch to manual mode and set your ISO, aperture, and shutter speed. Then the exposure will remain constant.
What is a DMF focus mode mean?

if you get a telephoto lens yes. The lens will be a bigger factor than the body

TRS. TRRS is usually for stereo signals.

The kit lens is agood place to start but the apsc zoom that sony makes or the sigma lenses for sony apsc will look better. If you have the budget , I recommend it

My recommendation would depend on your budget. Ultimately, the more you spend, the higher quality your images can be.
To maximize your images from THIS camera, you would want to know & use the manual settings like shutter speed, aperture, and ISO even as a beginner.
So… even *more expensive* cameras use those same settings… so they aren’t any “harder” for a beginner to use… but they have the potential for producing better images with the same knowledge & effort.
So any camera can be good for a beginner… but a more expensive camera would yield arguably higher performance, depending on your level of discernment.

Are the settings on the ZVE10 still important when it's used as a webcam, or connected to a capture card for recording with OBS?
Absolutely. The settings (exposure) affect any visual task the camera performs. The biggest difference between recording to disk vs streaming is whether or not the video information is being stored or just sent across a wire. Both scenarios benefit from a properly exposed image.
Way too fast for me to follow. By the time I find a new subject on my camera, the video is already on a new subject. So, not good for beginners on the camera.
Skill issue, I had the camera for a day and was easily able to understand these tips…follow along, pause the video, rewind it if you need to…it’s not a live feed. He said beginner guide not elementary.

Hey, beginner here! I film mostly cinematics of my art, and I got this camera because I'm on a budget, but i got the body only. Which lenses do you recommend with the ZV-E10?
it depends on your budget what kind of art/ the size of it
but for something cinematic i would grab the kit lens or any cheap zoom you can find, i love amazon for browsing everything in one place. And just have a range to place with.
and if youre really good with your camera, i would look at cheap manual primes on amazon from tt artissan. No autofucus
