Video settings for podcast/talking head:
Video mode
shoot mode -> Manual (fn -> manual)
file format -> XAVC S 4K
record setting -> 24P 100M
back wheel -> 1/50 fps
top wheel -> fstop (lowest)
ISO -> start at 100 and adjust until exposure is 0.0 or maximum +0.3
white balance -> +/- 4500 (depends on lighting)
focus area -> wide
focus mode -> continuous
Face/Eye focus priority -> on
Subject detection -> Human
Right/Left eye select -> Auto
Face/Rye frame display -> on
Audio - 9-15 (-12db - -15db)
Video settings for vlogging:
shooting mode - intelligent auto
stabilization - standard or off (dont shake the camera)
Slow-motion settings:
S&Q mode
S&Q shoot mode -> manual exposure
S&Q settings - 24p
Frame rate - 60fps or 120fps
Shutter speed - 1/25
ISO - adjust as necessary (start with 100)
The best way to be a better RUclipsr is to not compare yourself to others but instead compare yourself to who you were yesterday. Just got this camera to have a small, point and shoot style camera for when we're traveling and your video for the settings was SUPER helpful! Thank you so much! I've been lugging around a giant camera and lens for travel and it's just not fun - I get neck aches and it makes traveling harder. *Just* got my ZV-E10 and yours is EASILY the best into setting vid I've found (and it's been more than a few :) I am a musician and music teacher mainly (also do some real estate, so your vlogging settings are also helpful in the field for that). But mostly it's being used as a streaming cam upgrade. Your settings and helping me understand things like ISO setting have made the picture look so good. I'm mainly playing guitar and singing on LiveStreams and the hand strumming movements have always looked like "The Matrix"... lol... But now it's like I'm being professionally filmed live. Crazy. Thank you!!

Bought the ZV-E10 mainly for YT talking head style videos. This video is by far the best, and easiest to understand explanation of the optimal settings. For someone who is relatively new to using camera, this helped me immensely. Great content

Very helpful. Just opened mine today. I do a retro pop culture and game review show and bought this to improve the quality of my productions. Been using a camcorder. Now I can use this along with the camcorder if I want to do multicam work without having to use my phone. Or my phone can be used for a teleprompter. Thanks for the tips. This video was great.

Brilliant, thanks for the settings. I bought the Sony based on your recommendations, (and other reviews, but your's was the main one...) and it's been great!!! I needed a clean HDMI signal as a second camera for shooting my diorama building videos, and Livestreams. I was surprised with how well it zooms, and the fast focus. I do live demonstrations of building techniques and on quite a few occasions my choice of lens was off for my top down camera, and with the Sony I was able to quickly swap it as a close-up camera and it worked great. (it also helps I have very nice people watching my livestream and waited while I fumbled getting it swapped). I Love your content Omar, it's helping me create my own content and I'm slowly getting better, and I'm very appreciative of everyone at Think Media!!! Take Care, Bill

Just bought the ZV-E10 today! I'm extremely excited to start my channels on RUclips. I'm going to be making three different channels at the same time. One will be a vlog about my everyday life and journey through creating my RUclips channels, second will be educational for everything between barber and beauty, third will be a channel with everything ASMR. I've been wanting to create a channel for the last three years. I was too afraid and worried about judgement too much. After purchasing the think media online course, I now have much more confidence and direction on what I want to share on RUclips. Lastly, I will be donating to three different charities on each of my channels. So a total of 9 different charities. I'm hoping others will be inspired to also give back.

My Sony ZV-E10 just came in yesterday! I ordered it based on the reviews and recommendations from Think, much like I did when the Canon M-50 was released. I just started a video podcast and am using a Sony A6400 as the main camera. I wanted an option for a second shot and wanted to stay with Sony so the second angle would have the same image qualities, color, etc. I'm very happy so far with the purchase. Thank you Omar and Think team for fueling my tech gadget addiction! LOL
These settings helped tremendously. I was completely lost at first and stuff looked pretty funky recording into Camtasia, but the video settings helped.
This video is something I needed the most right now as I just purchased the camera for my youtube channel and didn't know anything about using camera thank you so much it makes it so easy which i was thinking is difficult

Thanks for this video. I got the ZVE10 just when production was halted to upgrade from a smartphone. I was shocked at the learning curve for the settings on this “beginner” camera and have watched a ton of vids like this to get me straight. Even after adjusting the settings mentioned I was still having problems with colors, and ultimately found it was on a random picture profile. I will be sticking to none/off on the picture profile for a while, but checking this setting is also pretty important for a beginner!

Hey man! I really appreciate this video. Answer your question at 6:18 I actually did not buy this camera but rather I borrowed it from my school. Before I used to use the Canon T7i because well thats what they had and it took good photos. But when they finally brought in this camera 1 month ago I(around the same time I got back into this) I did a review and learned that this was better at videos.And it is wayyyy lighter.
I got it for youtube and after attending ali's class. I love it so far. Was torn between this and z1 because of it's portability but glad I got this as a first camera.
I did the same, the battery life in the Zv1 was the deal breaker for me
As a wedding videographer - I bought the ZV-E10 as my dedicated Gimbal cam. My other 2 cams are the A7iv's built up like cinema rigs.

Why I bought this camera. Frankly because of Omars tutorials on the ZV-E10. had quite a struggle with finding the richt camera for my purpose. Filming is not my profession.
