Here's the explanation: Dial/Wheel Lock You can customize the camera to lock the control wheel and dial when you press the button. For example, suppose you want to keep a constant aperture and shutter settings while filming a video. You may want to press the button to lock the control wheel and dial so that if you accidentally bump the control wheel or dial, the settings won’t be affected because the control wheel and dial are locked. ALL of the below comments are in appreciation of a truly excellent ZV-e10 tutorial and wonderful TV channel. At the 26:00 mark you mentioned you were unsure where Metering Mode is. Here is the explanation: Metering Modes A metering mode refers to the manner in which the camera measures the brightness of the subject. The metering mode configures which part of the scene is measured to determine the exposure. Setting the Metering Mode → [1] Camera Settings 1 → [Metering Mode] Select: Multi: The camera divides the scene into multiple areas and measures the light in each area. The camera then determines the proper exposure of the entire scene. Center: Used for when the subject is located in the center of the image. It measures the average brightness of the entire scene, but places a priority on the center of the screen. Spot: Meters for the subject located in the spot metering target. This metering mode is usually used when there is a big contrast between the subject and background. Entire Screen Avg: The camera averages the brightness of the entire scene. The exposure will remain stable if the composition changes. Highlight: Places emphasis on the highlighted areas of the screen to ensure that overexposure is avoided. copied from the great book "Sony ZV-E10 Companion: A Guide to Mastering Your Camera" (p. 329). To follow on from my other post... did a camera reset. Set this all up again. And sure enough, same as before, the 120fps in memory recall only appears in s an q mode. If I'm in normal mode the mem recall shows 120fps, but doesn't show as per when using s an 6 60fps. I.e it still has audio monitors on, still shoots in normal frame rate. Even though it shows 120 fps. Weird.
I plan to put out a one year review next week. Although, I am sorry to say that I recorded the entire vid, went to do something, and then came back and formatted the SD card by accident. So hopefully by next week, maybe the following.
@@thefilmalliance Thank you for replying. My 2nd, I have a Canon 1100D which I use for overhead camera on streams, and also use it for some nature work. Looking for a more up to date camera and the ZV-E10 does appeal to me, but I know it has a few issues that I am hoping will be resolved in next revision of it. I am not desperate to get a new camera so was possibly thinking about saving a little more to get the next possible release.
thanks a lot! one question pls : ) if I use the Q&A button to 60fps frame rate and record setting is 24p to I need then to change the shutter speed to 1/120? thanks.

I‘ve just picked one of these cameras up but too many items are greyed out in the menu..And it is only offering me 25 p 100 m and 25p 60m...I have tried the factory reset bit it made no diffeence. I am sure I have missed a trick here but cant work it out. Am going to post my sos to some other posts..
Is there a way to lock your settings?. I somehow keep unknowingly making settings changes (maybe bumping buttons). I shot a college football press conference and the video had constant trails. I still haven't figured out how that happened.
Watched this a few times now. Today somthings not right. I've noticed when setting and using memory 1, calls up 120fps as does yours. But then it does show on left of screen as per s an q, 60fps. That shows 60fps, no audio. The 120fps just shows 120 at top. Mine was ok yesterday, doesn't seem right now. But seems ok if i go to s an q, then use that memory 1. If that makes sense. Very strange. Any ideas?
Hello there, new to the game here. I will soon purchase one! Very helpful video!!! Question when using the sigma 56 mm 1.4 lens for portraits will the settings also need to be adjusted separately for photos? will these cinematic settings be ruined/ remain the same ?

@@thefilmalliance hello again and thanks for getting back to me. I'll use it for some indoor daily or food vlog and also song cover. There's a 16-50 mm lens pack with this Sony on Lazada. I'm thinking of buying it. Could you please give advice on this 16-50mm lens? If it's suitable for my vlog.
great information Brother
Thanks man, hope it was helpful
Can you explain me about audio settings. I purchased rode go 2,BUT I DONT GET GOOD VOICE.THERE are lots of background noice
Weird.
Super!
what lens is that butterfly shot? 😍
I'd like to see the result of these settings if possible.
I plan to put out a one year review next week. Although, I am sorry to say that I recorded the entire vid, went to do something, and then came back and formatted the SD card by accident. So hopefully by next week, maybe the following.
@@thefilmalliance awesome possum
Is it worth picking one of these up now or waiting for the next generation of it?
Bought mine day ago. Love it.
It really depends on what you are shooting. Would this be your first camera?
@@thefilmalliance Thank you for replying. My 2nd, I have a Canon 1100D which I use for overhead camera on streams, and also use it for some nature work. Looking for a more up to date camera and the ZV-E10 does appeal to me, but I know it has a few issues that I am hoping will be resolved in next revision of it. I am not desperate to get a new camera so was possibly thinking about saving a little more to get the next possible release.
I think that the Zve10 is great. But honestly, I dont know what the next generation would be like. What updates do you think it will have?
@@thefilmalliance Possibly better rolling shutter and 10bit.
thanks a lot! one question pls : ) if I use the Q&A button to 60fps frame rate and record setting is 24p to I need then to change the shutter speed to 1/120? thanks.
60 fps with the shutter speed of 1/150... always remember any numbers the you like for your FPS must be multiply by 2 in your shutter speed setting..
Can you advise please why I have only two options under Record Settings when I am shooting on XAVC S 4K? And when I am on HD, I have record setting 50p 50M, 50p 25M, 25p 50M, 25p 16M, 100p 100M, but nothing for 60, 30 or 120
Don't worry, I've figured out that I have to switch from PAL to NTSC to resolve this problem. Thank you
@@ShobaSadler thank you for that! I was wondering the same.
Maximum expandable memory for zve10?
Can you please help me out. I can't turn on my focus peaking in zve10 during video
hi and help!
Any ideas?
is this the kit lens?
Thank you so much 😊
Anytime:). Do you have the Zve10?
Thank you broo
Thanks, I had fun with it
I’ve lost my dead cat for the ZV1. Do you know where I can purchase another one?
so upset to hear that
Nice!! Thank you for this! Can u also teach how to use the slowmotion function?. I am always confused.
Thank you
My pleasure, do you own a ZV-E10?
Hello there, new to the game here. I will soon purchase one! Very helpful video!!! Question when using the sigma 56 mm 1.4 lens for portraits will the settings also need to be adjusted separately for photos? will these cinematic settings be ruined/ remain the same ?
Good question. Did you ever get the sigma?
Thank You
My pleasure - Do you shoot professionally or as a hobby?
@thefilmalliance Both
Thank you
Thanks you!
