    Testing the control board would be above my skill level. Changing out a board would be simple, a lot like motherboards in computers. The price for the control board is just not justifiable for a two year old stove Overseas parts should be warrantied for a minimum of five years. My last Whirlpool stove was still working when we moved. Should have taken that with us!

    The button area on the oven temperature doesn't always work nor dose the bake & broil button. The display moves some because we push it to try to get it to work. It is a old oven but it doesn't seem you should have to get rid of it for button issues.

    The video was helpful. My LCD display went totally off and there were no error codes. Therefore, I thought I had an issue with the control panel. Based on your instructions I was able to remove the LHS of front panel but the RHS was stuck and I could not get it off after several times. Hey any items on getting off the RHS would be helpful. After unscrewing and reseating the heating element everything is working again. I'm still interested in ideas about getting the front panel off in case of any future issues. Thanks again.

      Sounds like a screw is still holding the right side of the 'leg' to the framing. If not and it's just wedged maybe try some silicone spray lubricant and or tapping the railing that holds it with a light mallet.

    Hi Mr Ficks, thanks for the videos. They are very helpful.
    We have a Whirlpool double oven, model# GBD307PDS09. It's having the "No Display but beeps" issue. I watched your other video, took out the control panel. It seems the thermal fuse is bad as the color of the lower half part looks burnt-like. Could you provide the link for the thermal fuse? I will try replacing the fuse 1st. If it doesn't work, will replace the relay. Thanks for your help.

    • @mrficks1838

      Not without looking at it but it's likely narrowed down to the ribbon not connecting properly to the control board or components on the board itself that went bad. You can also try cleaning the board where the ribbon connects with 'Electronic Cleaner'. (Just make sure you turn off the breaker (power) to the oven prior.)

    Not a comment but need help. I replaced the temperature sensor on the stove but the temps still do not stay correct. Always too high if tested. The control board from whirlpool costs more than the stove!! There are two less expensive models for the stove at Whirlpool but they insist only the most expensive will work. Is this correct or is there another workaround?

    • @mrficks1838
      @mrficks1838  3 года назад

      It's probably correct that the other model boards won't help you. My best guess is that the temp sensor is still not functioning correctly or try troubleshooting the rest of the board.

    So I turned power back on to use stove top and I had removed the temperature sensor the day before to replace it now my oven door is locked anyway to get door open since it now says EO F3 locked

    • @mrficks1838
      @mrficks1838  2 года назад

      Turn the power back off (the oven should have it's own breaker) and if that doesn't automatically unlock it then you might have to take off the keypad to access the latch from above and manually unlock.
      The temperature sensor has to be connected for the oven to operate. It likely locked it because there's an open circuit and it's stopped you from accessing for safety.

    Question. My Whirlpool oven will shut off during baking. It will come back on after 10-20 minutes. The panel will show power failure. Im thinking its the thermal fuse. Any thoughts? Thanks.

    • @mrficks1838
      @mrficks1838  3 года назад

      Hmm that could be the relay malfunctioning. If the fuse popped then you'd likely not get any thing responding.

    My control board lights up and then in about an hour or so quits. I lose all lights to the board, then it will come on when it wants to like in a few hours or the next day. Sometimes it will stay on for a couple days and then goes out. What could be wrong and where in the stove could cause this? I have checked the wires by wiggling them but nothing comes on.

    • @mrficks1838
      @mrficks1838  3 года назад

      Seems like a keypad connection issue but I'm not certain. It's either there or a component on the control board. I suggest checking the relay on the board with the power off of course.

      @@mrficks1838 Thanks for the reply. I have power at the control board but it will not light up. Is there a way to go in a sequence to determine the exact component that is causing an interruption in the circuitry? This is a Maytag but older digital kind.
      It is completely out now. So what is causing it to go in and out finally just quit.

      I have a 25 year old oven which was fine until a cockroach was sitting on the top on the chrome, just above the clock. I grabbed a can of Raid I had just bought and it dumped a stream instead of a spray. While I was still chasing the cockroach around I heard the BEEP. F-1. The spray had dripped down in to the electronic works. At this point, I can make my oven work sometimes, if I start 20 minutes early and just keep restarting it 20-25 times. But then I can not touch anything else at anytime. There is no replacement part available. Obviously there is nothing wrong with the functionality of the oven itself. This happened about August. I'm old and back in the day, if something didn't work, you kicked it, and then it would work.

    • @thorthunder3227
      @thorthunder3227 3 года назад

      @@ocpersonofinterest No one can tell me, even the fella that sold it to me. It went out completely after the 30 day warranty and the seller laughed his ass off no doubt. It is clear that some part of the control is not allowing movement of the electrical through it. I wish i had studied this more and wish that someone out there could show a step by step run through of the board to show where the "stop" is.

    Model GBD307PDS09
    Error code E6 F2 - is it the control panel or the Mirco Computer that needs replacing. Just had one company call back and said they can't fix it because the part is discontinued. Another service came out and they brought the wrong part for my model.

      Repair
      Disconnect power or unplug the range. Reconnect the keypad wire harness if loose. Restore electrical power to the range and press CANCEL. If the error code returns after 60 seconds, replace the keypad. If the problem persists, replace the electronic oven control."

      First turn the power off and try cleaning the ribbon that connects the keypad to the control panel. If that doesn't work then it's likely the keypad is going out and there are none in stock anymore nor are there control panels.
