@@andrewpadaetz5549 Understandable, and I did see a video that talked about that Enrique Wilson situation a bit. That being said, the reason why I said 2001 was it was because it not only ended what can be considered a dynasty from the late 1990's and 2000, but it also happened while they lost to a then-4 year old team in the Arizona Diamondbacks (who I'm a fan of myself, by the way). The damage that did to them was long-term to the point of them losing in 2003 to the Marlins back when they represented all of Florida and then doing what you mentioned in 2004 against Boston (who coincidentally also had Curt Schilling around for that moment). Sure the Yankees won one more in the late 2000's, but the point still stands in that they've never been the same since 2001.

You did not just compare the Yankees to the Cowboys lol
Nah, you won a title in this century
This has been a long time coming for us Yankees fans. Please. Rip into us with all your might.

This is your time to shine, O's fans! its been a long , strange trip!

1:04 The background music is called "Manhattan Playboy" by Leslie Jones And His Orchestra of London, from 1959.
As a diehard Yankees fan from New York, I think Hal Steinbrenner should extend Cashman and Boone again for at least another decade. You just can't deny their eye to acquire prime talents like Josh Donaldson, the upper half of Giancarlo Stanton, Carlos Rodon, and Luis Severino.
nah give the best minor league staff a chance at the majors, see how they do
@@splashnskillz37the Yankees farm is awful
"High Enough" was a really good song. Also, was expecting a Costanza joke and you didn't disappoint.
What a way to end the video! With a homerun from the Yankees’ real owner, Jose Altuve
Still an truly painful moment for me and so many other Yankee fans, but there was NO other way to end this video. It’s a lot more recent than 2001 and 2004.
Was the cherry on top of this video to disrespect the shit stains of society known as Yankees fans.
@@josephnajarian20382001 was a stinger losing in the desert to someone who hasn't been much relevant since.
As a Yankees fan, I was so happy to see this video. Thank you Tree
I'm a Yankee fan and I ain't even mad! By all means rip in to this team! We deserve it!
This is why I love Tree's content always funny & always on point
We went from "DAAAAAAA JANKEES LOSE" to "DAAAAAA JANKEES TRASH"
Damn…. That Altuve home run at the end was the icing on the cake :) thank you, Tree
Behold the commiseration that is the New York Yankees! As a fan of the Toronto Blue Jays, I was hoping you would released a video like this, Tree! Thanks a million!
As a fellow division rival, this is the best season of baseball ever!
As a Yankees fan we do not deserve pity. I’ve been waiting for this scorching for a long time.
I remember when a Yankee fan said they had it worse than the A's this year. LMAO
Sounds right for our fanbase. It’s mainly loud Dominicans playing raggaeton at 3 in the morning or 300 pound guidos from NJ, Staten Island, or Westchester. No brain cells between them.
As an Astros fan, seeing the Yankees fall apart is such a glorious thing to see!
As soon as they extended Cashman this past offseason I knew not to get my hopes up. He isnt the only problem but its definitely where it starts
Would you call his philosophy outdated?
@fortynights1513 idk never really thought about how'd it be catoragized, just know it hasn't been working for years and not changing it was never going to make things better.
They definitely need a new approach regardless
A little off topic but as a die hard Nats fan in Rizzo we trust. He is arguably the most underrated GM. In the past 3 years it looks like he has made a successful rebuild for the Nationals so far.
Can you guys ask Rizzo to also buy the Orioles?... we need the Angelos Family GONE since yesterday!
I'm a Yankees fan, and we completely deserved this verbal beat down. Thank you, Tree!
What would George Steinbrenner say?!

Same.
Nothing unites baseball fans (who aren't Yankee fans) quite like enjoying the Yankees being terrible. I grew up in the 80s and only retrospectively appreciate what a golden age that was.
As a proud Red Sox fan, this made me smile. 😁😁😁
I’m 26 years old. I’ve been waiting my whole life for the Yankees to have a losing record.
Long live the Red Sox!
What would George Steinbrenner say?!
my family is full of Yankees fans. I never really cared about them, but it's always music to my ears when they start losing.
The 2023 Yankees are the equivalent to the 2015-2023 Angels vice versa but with underperformances, injuries, Aaron Boone's mismanagement and Cashman's masterclass truly inspiring
Tbf to Boone, the fact that this team took until mid-August to collapse is a mini-miracle of managerial prowess
Just keep laughing. We deserve it.
As an angels fan I promise you, it’s not even close
No. Not really. They’re the 2008 NL Astros and 1992 Dodgers.
@@plawson85772008 Astros is a reach. they weren’t a $280 mil team. they had one of the worst farm systems in baseball even after being 3 years removed from a world series appearance. the 2023 yankees have the fountain of youth and don’t know how to utilize them.
Who's watching this after the Yanks blew a 5-0 lead to lose the World Series in 5?
To be perfectly frank, when the Bronx bombers don’t make the playoffs (2008, 2023) I count it as an early Christmas 🎄 present or when they fall short of the World Series or get bludgeoned by the dodgers in 24 it never gets old
Makes me smile as a Phillies fan.
As a Red Sox fan, this video was glorious... and I'm loving every bit of it
Y'know, as a Mets fan I shouldn't be too happy about the Yankees being bad, especially with how this Mets season has gone. But I'm sorry, I absolutely love this, it's so great to see the Yankees play bad baseball. I guess the old adage is true, "Misery loves company".
And the other adage. YANKEES SUCK.
I've always casually said "If I can't watch the Mets win, next best thing is to watch the Yankees lose" , This season is making that statement more valid than ever
You Mets fans can welcome us on the off-season couch while we can watch real teams like the Giants and Jets play meaningful games this season. And some parts of our fan bases might be Bills fans, idk.
Of course we should be happy about this it’s about damn time
Putting the Altuve Homer at the end was pure evil 😂😂 and I'm all for it.
I was hoping for Johnny Damon's grand slam but that'll do lol
"I'm all for it" Little boi you're just a fan. Suck tree off, donate him some money boi.
As a Yankees fan I'm happy that you made this Yankees video thank you tree
about halfway up till the end of the video was like everything i’ve ever wanted to say about my team all compiled into 5 minutes. thank you so much Tree
Yankee misery is the ultimate joy in sports. Thanks Tree!
So is the Leafs winning the Stanley Cup. The whole world will pay to see them.
As a Red Sox fan… you absolutely LOVE to see it.
I think it might be time for the Yankees to clean house and go for a 100-loss season. The old methods that they could use when they were dominant during their heyday they can't do anymore. But at the same time, the fans of this team are going to go through a deep chasm of insanity if they even have a 100-loss season. Even if George Steinbrenner was still owning this team, I don't think the Yankees would get past Houston at any point.
Forget that, the bronx deserve a tanking we haven't seen since this years Blackhawks.
Yankees fans and New Yorkers in general deserve this
Love this whole list at 9:57, especially “the White Sox exist.” That cracked me up 💀

You bet. I can’t wait for football season. My team, the Giants, look really good this year.
My new favorite video, but the best part? The end where you show the moment Altuve broke the Yankees, absolute perfection.
and that creepy Chapman smile, two years in a row he blew it
Being a Yankees fan is like going to Vegas and rooting for the casino.
It's almost like being a Leafs fan since that bastard Clarence Campbell expanded the league and making it harder for them to win.
All of my friends who moved to NYC from elsewhere and follow baseball took up Mets fandom and I can’t blame them. Yankees are charmless.
@@dannythomas417 That's why the Stanley Cup is so hard to win. The league has expanded and now that there are 32 teams (half of which make the playoffs), this makes winning hockey's ultimate prize harder than it was when the Original Six teams dominated the league.
It is refreshing seeing the Yankees struggle like the rest of us. As a Rockies fan you guys can come take a seat with us, Yankee fans. We’ll be here a while. We’re just over here chillin with Oakland and Kansas City.
Awww yeah trees dissection of my team. Much needed bro appreciate your insights
I am disappointed this isn’t longer, we deserve more than this for the shit that’s happened
Our entire fan base saw this coming as soon as they said they were going to run it back rather than improving the team (or better yet reached a point where they can no longer ride Gene Michael’s coattails).
None of us are crying. The front office is a joke.
None of yous? LOL There is definitely some crying going on in Yankee Nation! But i respect you for being even-keeled and taking your medicine! We all gotta rebuild sometime, EVEN the Yankees! LOL

Losing 2/3 to a tanking Nats team was great timing for this!!!
If they hadn't won one of those Nats games, it would've made the losing streak the worst since 1912, when they lost 11 in a row and they were called the Highlanders.
Kinda crazy to think about, really. The Yankees have never lost 10+ games in a row under that name.
