@@LordWafflestomp Or Houston. Dallas hasn’t made it pass the divisional round since they last won the Super Bowl nearly 30 years ago. Meanwhile, the Texans haven’t made it pass the divisional round in their existence.
Y'all put up a much better fight than New York did, the Mariners have a lot to be proud of this season and I'll definitely be keeping an eye on them next year.
As an Astros fan, I can only hope that the Mariners are the toughest team we face this postseason. On paper that was a three game sweep, but in reality it was one of the closest series this postseason. Seattle had to wait 21 years to see playoff baseball again. Their next wait will be about 20 years shorter, and I wager they'll get to see more than the one game in person next time.
Honestly, this playoff loss really showed the true potential of the Mariners. I'm only more excited for next year than ever before. For the first time in a long time, the future for Seattle actually looks bright. It isn't just an empty "At least there's next year," they're a legitimate threat right now.
Ya know, the Padres break my heart every. single. year. But at least we got this far this time, and for that I’m proud of that team. I know what the future holds, and it ain’t pretty🥲
I was watching Game 4. A lot of apparent ump-ball against the Padres that somehow wasn't called the same way against Philly (e.g. balls thrown outside the zone away from the batter that were called strikes; overhead showed the ball never crossed the plate).
We beat LA, we finished 16 games over .500, and there's no reason to believe we won't be just as good if not better next year. the fact that 16 games over .500 and an NLCS appearance makes for the best Padres season in 24 years... Edit: well this aged very poorly
As an Astros fan, this series could be a huge challenge, that Philly offense is lethal and they are gonna be hitting bombs . But as I’ve said all the time , good pitching beats good hitting Everytime . Houston’s pitching Vs Phillys Hitting is gonna be an epic series . And in this runback 42 years in the making, there are TWO mighty powers of jinx hovering over the Phillies ball club... Tree predicting their victory, and a hungry, elated crowd chanting "We Want Houston!" One way for another, this bout is going to be legendary. Buckle up.
The fact that "For Whom the Bells Toll" was playing in the background of the Phillies bit is why I'm rooting for them over the Astros!! Excellent music choice Tree!!
I fell out of baseball after 2011, but slowly became interested again after the Phillies grabbed Harper. Watching this team has been rough for a while, but I’ve been in absolute shock and ecstasy for the past few weeks. First the Eagles, now the Phillies! LFG PHIGHTINS!
Me in the Postseason Haters Guide: "Now please excuse me as I expect us to get dropkicked by the Cardinals in the Wild Card round. 🙃" Me right now: "Please excuse me as I eat a bag of shit for having no faith entering this series." But man, this is so surreal. Praying for a Phillies victory!
I've had no faith in the Phillies all year, including the playoffs. I thought we would get bounced in every round so far, and we see how that's gone. Needless to say I'm still expecting them to lose this series so they can prove me wrong one last time.
Well, the first one is in the record books. Philly makes its greatest playoff comeback win in franchise history, and the astros can’t score a single run in 7 innings. As for the astros fans reading this, I have one thing to say to Houston. *cue video clip:* you blew it boy! You really blew it!
@@davidblass8479 just goes to show you can't doubt this Phillies team man. If this playoff run and the game tonight didn't convince you what they're capable of then nothing will. Incredible game, and incredible fight from the Phillies.
I am a 48 year old Astros fan. As a kid we would occasionally get in the playoffs only to be quickly rebuffed. in 2004 we finally make it to a WS only to get swept. Then we are forced into the American League, which actually was the greatest thing that ever happened to this team. After a couple tough years and a total rebuild, the Astros did something no other Houston team has ever done, created a winner. 6 straight ALCS's and 4 WS later (2 wins) Houston fans are pretty much on cloud nine. Hey I think after waiting 60 years the fans deserve a bit of winning. (even if the country hates our guts). Props to the Phillies, they were a tough out.
As a Braves fan, my pain stings much less because of last year, on top of the fact that the Doyers one-upped us in the humiliation department. Also the fact that literally nobody has repeated in my entire life has also given me solace. David Ortiz even put it into perspective on one of the shows he aired on, talking about how after '04 the Bosox got the shit slapped out of them by Chicago the next year.
yeah i pretty much feel the same way, it sucked to see such a great season end like that but we got our ring last year and no champ has repeated in over two decades, and i’d say our exit wasn’t even in the top two for most humiliating this year. so yes, this year hurt a bit, but nowhere near as much as 19 or 20 did. we’ll be back.
"Congratulations, Braves. After spending most of the season in second place, you've caught up with the LOLMets, stolen the division title from under their nose, and are now in a prime position to repeat as champions. Only a brick wall can stop you. Its name is the Phillies."
I had my doubts about Philly like a lot of people heading into October. They have proven me wrong with their play. As for the Yankees, have fun watching Aaron Judge leave for a new home. Like San Francisco. (Plz let that be the outcome)
The Mariners definitely kept it competitive for the most part against Houston, they played the equivalent of 4 games than 3 in a best of 5, sucks but they’ll be back!

As a Padres fan, I'm just so happy we got as far as we did, it was very fun for us as a city. Our true win was LA. I feel like the Astros are gonna get this year. They are truly deadly and scary to watch. Even if we had beat the Phillies, we would not win against them. haha
All these complaints of “the MLB playoffs aren’t fair to the higher seeds” or “they provide an unfair advantage to the lower seeds” are clearly from people who are just salty that their team lost and/or they don’t have any brain cells. Explain to me how having full rest for your starting pitchers, home field advantage, and immunity from an entire round of the playoffs is supposed to be a disadvantage or is unfair. The Wild Card round has been a complete success and has brought so much more joy and intrigue to the MLB postseason. Yes, I know I’m biased. Doesn’t matter how well you do in the regular season. If you aren’t ready to step up and do your job when it’s big boy time, you don’t deserve to move on.
Cleveland would land backwards into a game 7 do or die situation vs The Astros but that's really what true chaos would've brought lol. Hopefully we win a ring for Tito he grew up here and it would be sweet to break the curse while he's in charge.

Philadelphia Vs Houston. Unbelievable. I have no words to say about this year’s MLB Postseason. Phillies in 7. May the best team win and I don’t care who wins the World Series this year. Phillies earned my respect after defeating my Cardinals in the NL Wild Card and I have to give props to Astros for making it to the World Series two consecutive years in a row. Both of these teams have a lot of heart and I hope it comes to the wire in 7 games. And all I have left to say is a famous line from Godzilla (2014)…”LET THEM FIGHT”.
Well... September is officially the Mets' kryptonite. That and inconsistent offense and pitching. It sucked to see the team underperform when it counts, so I hope they come back next year with those fixes to their issues. At least watching Atlanta die in the heat of the day after their fans talked so much shit about LOLMets helped me feel a bit better.

Giving the Astros a 3-2 win, giving them a 3-2 Series lead and Snuffing out Any Momentum Phillies had.
Game 6: On Saturday November 5,2022 The Astros are given the Opportunity of a Lifetime: Reward Houston and Minute Maid Park a World Series Clinch at Home directly in Downtown Houston, and they take advantage of that. With Valdez pitching a Primo game until he gives up a Solo Homer to Kyle Schwarber at the top of the 6th, but Thankfully for him, the Bullpen comes through and delivers as the Astros relievers do the job, which causes the Astros Offense to come to Life as at the bottom of the 6th, Yordan Alvarez Ignites Electric Energy at Minute Maid Park with a 3 Run Homer Blast that quickly erases the Phillies lead, with Phillies giving up another run at the bottom of the 7th. With that, the Phillies tank officially runs out of Fuel as the Houston Astros quickly breeze through 9 Outs and Clinch their 2nd Franchise Crown with Closer Ryan Presley getting it done. And the Astros become the First Club to Clinch a World Series at Home since The Red Sox 9 years prior thus Vanquishing The Stigma of the 2020 Scandal over the 2017 Crown while earning the Salt of arrogant Yankees and Dodger fans.

@@brentbowman4498 They were sort of playing underwhelming up until the final week in September, and their 87-75 record wasn't very convincing either, especially since the two teams ahead of them in the division BOTH won 101 games each.

Then we are forced into the American League, which actually was the greatest thing that ever happened to this team.
