On paper, this World Series is easy to predict. The Astros are a machine who absolutely nobody comes close too and better teams have tried and failed to stop them, but the Phillies are the baseball equivalent of “this sign can’t stop me because I can’t read” so who really knows.

After the first two games in Houston were split, on Halloween night Game 3 in Philadelphia was rained out and forced the remaining games back a day. Philly would come back and dominate on their way to a 7-0 shutout win following the extra day off and take a 2-1 series lead. Only to be no-hit by the Astros' pitching staff in Game 4. Series lead is gone.
Game 5 on Thursday night was rather interesting. Not only was it a close game and went down to the wire but the same two cities were also cheering against each other on the grid iron during Thursday Night Football. Only the sixth time such a feat has happened between the MLB and NFL, and the first time in just over a decade. The Eagles breezed through Houston to remain undefeated, but the Astros avenged their fallen comrades by holding off the Phillies and taking a 3-2 series lead. The payment for their treachery in 2017 is nearly complete. They just need one more win at home, and have two chances at it.
Kyle Schwarber kicks things off with a solo home run in the top half of the 6th after 5 solid innings by both pitchers. Phillies off to a good start in forcing a Game 7.
"Agony, thy name is Yordan Alvarez." A 3-run HR the next half inning. Philly never recovers. Series over. Astros reign supreme again. The demons from 2017 have been extinguished. At least for now. The payment to the Succubus is finally complete. It may have costed close to a fortune over the past 5 years, with the Deshaun Watson situation, the Rockets imploding from within, and the fans of Houston becoming more restless with each passing day, but the Astros have restored the glory that was taken away from them following their sign stealing scandal.

Game 1: Verlander continues his Bizarre instability in the World Series by blowing a 5-0 lead giving the Phillies Game 1.
Game 2: Valdez Answers Back and gives the Astros Game 2.
Game 3: McCullers runs out of gas and gives up back to back Homers to the Phillies causing a 7-0 crushing loss. This Game win at Citizens Bank Park causes Philadelphia to turn into Yankees and Dodgers like fans by being Cocky, inhospitable, unruly and Dickish. They not only Harass and bully Astros fans, several Restaurants stupidly decide that Discrimination isn’t as important as Team Spirit and refuse to serve the Astros. But The Baseball Succubus suddenly decides to pardon the City of Houston when Phillies fans decide that it’s a good idea to heckle and intimidate Houston Philanthropist and beloved Businessman Mattress Mack, unwittingly Philadelphia inflames the Ire of the Succubus and she finally decides to allow the Astros its first Crown in 5 years.
Game 4: Javier Avenges McCullers and Rewards Dusty Baker at Citizens Bank Park with a Pleasant Surprise: a Historical World Series No Hitter carrying the Stros to a 5-0 Victory. The First WS No Hitter in 66 years.
Game 5: With Verlander back up as a Starter, ESPN and Most Sports pundits predict an Easy Phillies victory and Verlander choking like he did in Game 1, but Hope Springs Eternal and Miraculously, He Pulls Through. Giving the Astros a 3-2 win, giving them a 3-2 Series lead and Snuffing out Any Momentum Phillies had.
Game 6: On Saturday November 5,2022 The Astros are given the Opportunity of a Lifetime: Reward Houston and Minute Maid Park a World Series Clinch at Home directly in Downtown Houston, and they take advantage of that. With Valdez pitching a Primo game until he gives up a Solo Homer to Kyle Schwarber at the top of the 6th, but Thankfully for him, the Bullpen comes through and delivers as the Astros relievers do the job, which causes the Astros Offense to come to Life as at the bottom of the 6th, Yordan Alvarez Ignites Electric Energy at Minute Maid Park with a 3 Run Homer Blast that quickly erases the Phillies lead, with Phillies giving up another run at the bottom of the 7th. With that, the Phillies tank officially runs out of Fuel as the Houston Astros quickly breeze through 9 Outs and Clinch their 2nd Franchise Crown with Closer Ryan Presley getting it done. And the Astros become the First Club to Clinch a World Series at Home since The Red Sox 9 years prior thus Vanquishing The Stigma of the 2020 Scandal over the 2017 Crown while earning the Salt of arrogant Yankees and Dodger fans.

I am a 48 year old Astros fan. As a kid we would occasionally get in the playoffs only to be quickly rebuffed. in 2004 we finally make it to a WS only to get swept. Then we are forced into the American League, which actually was the greatest thing that ever happened to this team. After a couple tough years and a total rebuild, the Astros did something no other Houston team has ever done, created a winner. 6 straight ALCS's and 4 WS later (2 wins) Houston fans are pretty much on cloud nine. Hey I think after waiting 60 years the fans deserve a bit of winning. (even if the country hates our guts). Props to the Phillies, they were a tough out.

Explain to me how having full rest for your starting pitchers, home field advantage, and immunity from an entire round of the playoffs is supposed to be a disadvantage or is unfair. The Wild Card round has been a complete success and has brought so much more joy and intrigue to the MLB postseason. Yes, I know I’m biased. Doesn’t matter how well you do in the regular season. @@warlordofbritannia No, I meant 2006. There were clips of our trainwreck of a WS appearance vs. St. Louis. 1984 was against San Diego, who as we saw, came within a few games of their third ever WS appearance this year.
