@@jamess3109 I didn't say that the songs were bad. I said that as full albums, listening to them front to back, it doesn't work that well. You get the sensation that there is a lot of filler even though the songs on their own sound great. And yes, it is my opinion. That's why i said it. : )
@NickTheGuitarPlayer Load is a very solid album from start to finish. There's a few songs midway through the album that are just okay (like Wasting My Hate and Poor Twisted Me), but it more than makes up for it with the superb quality of the rest of the album. ReLoad on the other hand had some great gems, but several mediocre songs peppered in. I would put ReLoad as the second weakest Metallica album, the weakest album being Hardwired... To Self Destruct.
The hard hittin' weight of this song always moves me. The S&M Performance of "The Outlaw Torn" is one of the greatest and most touching performances of any piece of music I've ever seen. And as a singer and a lyricist myself I am so in love with this song. I've heard many opinions on what the lyrics is about, but I'm pretty sure it's about the loss of Cliff, and how to move on.
This song dominated the CD player in my room at some point in the 90s. Repeat, over and over. To put all of Metallica's catalog into early/other fast shit, and then the good long shit, this is the best. Maybe beaten out by Fixxxer.
@@jd0879 "doesn't take a genius"? lol Well, "Load" was released in 1996, which would have been the disc I was spinning for this track, not S&M. Gotta love the internet for shitty comments though :D
whenever i want to hear metallica live, i always type in "metallica 2000". its the best years leading up to it and i know ol' reliable jason will be doing the backup vocals. im with ya man...
Lol no... Don't know wtf happened to him, because he sound damn near to perfect when they played Woodstock the same year, but all the S&M shows not so much... And then he sound great again in 2000.
This is a part of the S/M- thingy they did. The most wellknown concert is the one from San Francisco which they put out on a dvd and cd. They also made a gig in New York (this video) and then another gig in Berlin with a different orchestra.
wow. i cant believe that this was over 10 years ago. they should have dont a 10th anniversary S&M concert or DVD/CD. i think that, that would have been sick. who else agrees with me?
Anyone have an opinion on the best live version of this song without the symphony. I love this song by itself. It's hard to find a great live version of this song it's a shame cause it's fucking epic. I'm gonna look thru some late 90's full concerts but they are such bad quality.
Man, it would be awesome of they did another s&m concert but with a new setlist like fade to black, unforgiven, Orion...and a few from the first one like master of puppets, one, bleeding me, outlaw torn...
amazing gig, Jason sounds is so powerful her funny thing, the camara looking for Kirk XD.. and what is that guy doing sitting on the floor close to Michael the director??
Kirk during this song was in the orchestra, he had to change guitars at one point and Justin was in the back... there’s a brief moment where you don’t hear Kirk and that’s why. Killed the solo when he came back out though!
@xXBraylonGillespieXx well yea that may be the reason why. but maybe if he had a son that did the same thing as him they could of had his son do it. or do it in memory of kamen.
They're not in as good a shape as they were when they recorded the S&M registration. - James' voice is off-pitch and it jumps. (He looks and sounds to be anxious and frustrated anyway.) Lars is a little off-beat, compared to the official recording that is. And Kirk is in hiding. - It's not easy, but for the few times you do these orchestral shows, better be in top shape.
The orchestra ruins this song in my opinion. The best symphony songs are Of Wolf And Man and No Leaf Clover obviously since that was meant to be with a symphony.
+Jason86906 It was an opinion...this is a quote from my original statement..."The orchestra ruins this song in my opinion"....No Leaf Clover is Gangster. Too much going on in the other songs...IMO
Rob is so much better than Jason. The only problem with Rob is his backing vocals, Jason was better at that. When it comes to play it, Jason can't even be compared to Rob!
And people say Load was a bad album.
One good song does not mean the whole album as a whole is good. I love the songs from Load and ReLoad but as a whole album they don't work well.
@@NHR_Music That's your opinion. Load and load albums are good albums. Not a bad song in any of them

I consider Load tied for 1st place along with Puppets.
I could listen to that jam at the end for hours.
Wow, this version sounds MUCH better than the edited one in the S&M cd, amazing, really amazing shit

Did you even listen to the lyrics?A friend dying is bad but James is on some way deeper shit with this one.
Oh my god James' voice is so powerful here
He struggled in some parts. Bit worn out
Listen 2019 - 2022 live perfomance of Outlaw Torn

Matt Uebel S&M came out in 1999, doesn’t take a genius to figure out which point in the 90’s you had it in your CD player ..
@@jd0879 "doesn't take a genius"? lol Well, "Load" was released in 1996, which would have been the disc I was spinning for this track, not S&M. Gotta love the internet for shitty comments though :D
Matt Uebel Dont spin this on me for not being clear. Be more specific next time
I was there. Can't believe that was over 20 years ago now. I still have the shirt and program I got there.
I was still in my dad's balls. Those were the days ...
wanted to hear a version with Jason in it. miss him
At least they play Orion now.
whenever i want to hear metallica live, i always type in "metallica 2000". its the best years leading up to it and i know ol' reliable jason will be doing the backup vocals. im with ya man...
raysdga orion is kinda boring
I thought the same
Por siempre Newsted
Trujillo no
6:13 Two brothers enjoying it!!!
james voice is always amaze me

Kevin McDonald lol yes... he sounded great

WOW I had no idea they played MSG with the S&M Orchestra, so crazy and awesome to see, thanks!
Jason was perfect for Metallica, James and Lars didn't want to
accept change. ONE thing is for SURE, Metallica wasn't the same when Jason left.
1 million per cent agree dude.. Jason breathes life and attitude into metallica...wish he was still there
noshabibis I agree with that fact
Dammn right
I dont think so, Cliff burlon is the only one real bassist for metallica
Hell fuckin yea. They were so awesome on stage together
The people hated this album!!!Now they love it!!!I always loved this album with all my heart!!!
Fav. song off of Load. But it kinda ties with Bleeding Me, but Outlaw comes out ahead by just a hair :)
This has to be one of my favorite Metallica riffs
Load and ReLoad = Badass rock/metal albums
No

It was the Orchestra of St. Luke’s with Micheal Kamen
james' solo blow heads off!! its amazing
0:39 Jason's rules
masterpiece
Essa música me domina até hoje
4:34 to 5:01 Such great power in James' voice.
the perfect song the bst song 4 ever
Adoro su entrega en cada concierto. METALLICA 4 EVER!
This is better than the S&F version, James sings this so much better.
The drums sound fucking awesome.
bass -- nice nice nice
this song is amazing....especially S&M style
Awsome!
Yeah man you're totally right on this
wow. i cant believe that this was over 10 years ago. they should have dont a 10th anniversary S&M concert or DVD/CD. i think that, that would have been sick. who else agrees with me?
i'm from future..they gonna do second S&M in 2019!
Lars's drumming in this era is fuckin fantastic
They play equally good.
Jason had vocals, which was a plus.
But now that Rob's in, I can't really complain, he's an amazing bassist.
I was at this show. MSG yo NYC
This is the prime of James Hetfield..he is still very young but very experienced also
Damn this version is fire!
That guy have a great job!
God can´t make a mistake man! Remember it:-D
Enjoy. Audio is good.
wow!I need the official version!!!
@smitty6293 agreed. that combination had a lot of potential.
The best Metallica guitar solo ever James Hetfield the greatest
@noshabibis So true Jason was a bad ass bassist. And His backing vocals were untouchable !
@Andabraud they also played in berlin with the symphony
@JG129 exactly!
@BookSixtySix I think those are on the top 3 of their songs. I've listened to every studio song from Metallica.
They played a concert with the orchestra in NY also.
👌
gj filming jason smashing his bass during kirks solo
no, this is not the show that was recorded for the album, this a second and last concert they did with the simphony...
EXCELLENT
PERFORMANCE
HETFIELD! !!!!!! \\m// ❤
ohh porque no se hizo una gira mundial!!!

2009 london probably.
Anchorage Alaska 1999
fucking insanity. this rules \m/
Was sikk when james wore the boots!
agreed!!!! hes a graeter guitar player than most give him credit for. this JH solo was amazing just lkie the master one
Man, it would be awesome of they did another s&m concert but with a new setlist like fade to black, unforgiven, Orion...and a few from the first one like master of puppets, one, bleeding me, outlaw torn...
cavedweller2:16 they actually are, in September of this year, in San Francisco!!!
Holy fuck
@Motorfixxxer i know man that would be sick!
hay más videos del recital en el madison square garden?
@DigitalMarine This is S&M in New York, not SF ;)
ahahaha i got u ;)
metallica are the god of all the musics .. seriously
@smitty6293 touring all around the world, playing with a local orchestra :E
Metallica in its prime...
amazing gig, Jason sounds is so powerful her funny thing, the camara looking for Kirk XD.. and what is that guy doing sitting on the floor close to Michael the director??

That opening riff seems metal AF all these years later. Djenty in fact.
@DigitalMarine You do realize that they held 4 Symphony & Metallica shows, right? 2 In New York and 2 in San Francisco.
@smitty6293 That would have been amazing !!
uhh yes it is do u see the symphony behind them
were is kirk during the solo? i wanna see how he plays it:D
@smitty6293 michael kamen passd away...
He's flipping the pages haha
@xXBraylonGillespieXx well yea that may be the reason why. but maybe if he had a son that did the same thing as him they could of had his son do it. or do it in memory of kamen.
just 2
Why did you not get Kirks solo?
@smitty6293 oh yeah man i would be trully amazing!!!!
dude did james cut his hair
Is this S&M ?
They held one in SF and the other one in New York
metallica played another S&M... in new york?
They had 2 shows in both states
wow he made a mistake while screaming 2:31 ;/
i forgive him
I like hero of the day a little bit more than those two.
@zeonefelix Great joke.
lol! loosing Cliff and never be able to find a replacement. That's pretty sad for Jason

+raysdga That's your opinion. Don't state it like it's fact because IMHO the symphony makes every song on the S&M cd sound loads better.
I don't smoke dope and listen to Metallica. I listen to them sober.
raysdga Opinions are fucking opinions get over it.
